Amy stirred in her bed sat up and stretched then looked to her left side of the bed and saw the blue hedgehog is nowhere in sight. She rose up from bed and looked around at her scattered nightgown and undergarment on the floor looking for her robe and wore it. She giggled and opened the curtness and said, "Good morning world!" before going to the bathroom to take a short shower and change to a light-yellow strap dress that stops above her knee. Watered her plants and said "Good morning plants!" and twirl around to check on her precious Piko hammer and said "Good morning haa- *sniffs* ew what's that smell?" she heard kitchen equipment falling and raced to the kitchen to see a sonic struggling to cook and everything is a mess. Small smile planted on her face and crossed her arms.
The blue blur looked up at her with a nervous grin and said, "umm surprise?". She walked towards him and looked at what he is attempting to cook, all she saw was burnt food and giggled at his efforts thought it was kind cute minus the mess that he made. "What's that supposed to be?"
"uh, pancakes" he said as he scratched behind his head looking away ashamed "I-uh kind of wanted to practice cooking you breakfast for our anniversary, but I suck at this eh" he mumbled embarrassed. "aw you're so sweet" the rosy hedgehog said as she hugged her partner to comfort him. She continued "you know what? Let's clean up and I will teach you how to cook pancakes" kissing his cheeks, "don't lecture me if I made a mess", he replied putting his arms around her. She rolled her eyes.
In these years they've been together their life is wonderful and they completed each other. when they started dating, they both kind of wished they confessed even sooner, but how can they when one was oblivious of how to deal with his feelings. The other didn't want to be with him because if she confessed that she loved him it wouldn't be worth getting their friendship to be ruined, if he doesn't return her feelings. Nonetheless when everything changed everything felt in place. They don't live together, but sonic mostly all the time stays at Amy's place at night. He loves it's like wherever Amy is its home.
Yet, even when they have been together for a long time except only their friends about their relationship but didn't really make it public for the village to know even though everyone lowkey knew. They would go out for dates sometimes, but they won't really be all over each other in public it's something sonic would rather do that privately because it isn't anyone's business and he doesn't like the attention to focus on his love life. He doesn't want to also bring this attention to his enemies and to use Amy to get to him. By enemies it's not eggman he kind of knows about them and would tease sonic from time to time and lowkey ships it which sonic finds it really weird. But regardless he loves her, vice versa and that what matters to him.
Sonic was mixing the pancake dough, "Ames, how do I know the mix is done?" Amy was setting the plates and looked at the dough "umm…five minutes before it looks like this" he groaned "at least the menu isn't rotten egg." She laughed "I'm just joking, it's looks fine now let's cook it before you mess something up" she teased. Sonic acted hurt "words hurt".
They had breakfast together luckily sonic didn't burn anything he did a great job with the pancakes. While there having breakfast, they talked about what they will do today, Amy would hang out with sticks in the volcano, in the other hand sonic would do his usual thing run, kick eggman's butt and chill with tails or knuckles. "You know I kind of miss going to our big dangerous adventure, the feeling and rush of it, you feel me?" "What got sick of kicking eggheads butt a million times?" she raised an eyebrow at the blue hedgehog. "It's just…...I want something new and exciting you know." He sights. "I know" she said and giving him a lovingly smile.
After breakfast sonic left in rush because tails called, it was something about the lightning bolt society and bowling, worried he would be extremely competitive and said "don't do anything I wouldn't do", "wait I thought you said have fun" Amy give him grimy look "whatever, can you ask if tails fixed my ancient artifact tracker." he chuckled "sure" he said and kissed her cheek quickly dashed out before she gets mad. She picked up what she did yesterday and continued with her research about this ruby and the sun case. She kept at this position until lunch, ate and got tired from looking for any clues where the heart ruby might be and went to sticks in the volcano.
"ohhoo! mine went furthest before it melted" the pink hedgehog cheerily stated. "No, mine went furthest before it melted." Sticks argued. They laughed and kept throwing rocks, chatted for about an hour and chilled had picnic that they brought with them. Then Amy decided to ask sticks about any caves that the team never discovered, sticks usually knows around the forest and it wouldn't hurt if Amy asked her. She needs any type of lead to finding this artifact. The heart ruby would probably be hidden in a cave with contraptions because the ancient tribes would usually hide their relics in these types of locations.
"Sticks do you know any caves that might have traps or mechanisms that we never noticed? "Amy asked. "no but saw some weird aliens by an old crypt." Amy looked at her puzzled and blinked. "Sticks its always some crazy conspiracy with you." The archeologist stated as she shook her head at her friend. "Hey, they laughed when I said the robots will go against us then it really happened" sticks looked away and crossed her arms. "ok then, how did the "aliens" looked like?" Amy decided to go along with sticks.
"Well there were six of them, they all looked weird they weren't animals." Amy started to get interested maybe they are archeologist like her and would maybe help her with her quest. "One was huge red horn alien, crazy pink alien, a large yellow alien, and there was a tiny blue old alien, a green girl alien and an emo alien" the pink girl looked at the badger bewildered 'that's odd I never stumbled upon them' she thought.
"Ok thanks sticks" and that's when her communicator went off. Eggman is attacking the village again.
"I can't believe were losing against these lighting losers! You guys aren't trying hard enough! We can't pull them to oblivion if we don't get more points then them. AND I WANT TO PULL THEM INTO OBLIVION." Sonic said historically acting competitive again. Tails and knuckles looked at him strangely. "Sonic's acting cray cray again" knuckles whispered to tails and did the crazy hand gesture. Tails sight.
Until they heard a huge crash they looked up and saw Eggman in the air. "Long time no see sonic. Did you miss me?" Eggman floated above them in his egg mobile with his robots and eggbot about to attack them. "ugh, how can we miss you when you never go away." Sonic said. Eggman started to get angry and said, "Robots attack!" Tails then called Amy and sticks.
"knuckles give me a boost" sonic said as he looked unfazed. As he spin dashed through the eggbots head and quickly destroyed him. The others destroyed the crab and beebots. "I love smashing robots." Knuckles stated. When they were done destroying some metal scraps. Eggman growled angrily " ugggh! This is not over sonic... okay maybe this is over, but I will be back and win the battle next time." Sonic snickered "oh like the million other times that you did? Oh, wait you always lose!" Eggman muttered irritably under his breath and left. Sonic said good job to the team, sticks and knuckles left. Only Amy, sonic and tails were left. "My dress is ruined from the dust, should've worn my battle dress instead." The pink beauty wined. "you're still look like a snack thought." Sonic flirted. Amy's blushed and looked away." Aw stop it"
Tails just awkwardly stood there and changed the subject "uggh-Hey Amy, Here's the artifact tracker you wanted me to fix." Tails said as he gave the device. "Thank you! Thank you!" Amy took it excited and hugged him. "Why do you need that anyways?" tails questioned. "Well, I started researching about this legend and one of the artifact is located here so I might check it out and there might be other archeologist that sticks mentioned that looking for it which is good, so I can find them and we could like help each other." The pink girl said enthusiastically.
"Wait, wait, wait" the blue hedgehog said as he kept moving his hands everywhere and every direction. "you're going to do this alone and go to strangers for help your barley know", 'here we go again' she thought. It's not like he is a controlling by any means, but sometimes he gets extra with his overprotectiveness. "There archeologist. You act as If I never went to digs or trips by alone. I can handle this myself." Amy protested. Sonic just huffed clearly didn't want to have this conversation in front of his brother and she decided to let it go. "Anyways... tails I'm going to cook dinner do you want to join?" Amy offered to her younger counterpart friend. "Wait I thought we're having chilly dogs from meh burger?!" sonic said. "Sonic can you at least try different food more often…... and yes I kept some chilly dogs in the fridge but your trying what I'm cooking." Amy complained. "Fine the more the merrier" sonic said as he rubbed his tummy. "fatass" Amy muttered under her breath and sonic chuckled at her remark.
"uggh w-w-well I kinda have a date with Zooey" tails said in a faint voice while blushing. Amy awed at him and sonic looked at him proudly and said "aw my little brother is all grown up" tails pushed him a little and laughed. Then they parted ways and left for Amy's house. They had dinner didn't talk much while sonic was looking at her research, Amy said to him "You know you should have more faith on me and I'm more than capable to handle anything" sonic sight and cuddled with her and said "I know but sometimes I get worried something might happen that's all, I know your capable and strong." Kissed her forehead, she rubbed his cheek and said, "Don't be besides I have you to protect me." She smirked and give him an all to knowing look. He chuckled and they both went to the bedroom. The night is young fo them.
At Eggman's base, "AHHAHAHAH!" an evil laughed echoed the place. He was working on something that is all too familiar and added some upgrades on it. "Finally, tomorrow I will be sure to defeat the mutant blue rat, conquer the world and make all the rollercoasters that I want and make people pay for extremely overpriced fees." He laughs evil. "uhhmm, doesn't he say that every time he comes up with a plan and sonic wins?" Cubot whispered to Orbot. "shhh, don't let him hear you and let us clean all the bathroom" they both shivered. Eggman got angry and told them to shut up.
