"Sorry, what do you mean sorry?, You're father is out at work doing his job so you can be able to attend college and all you have to say is sorry?" said Maria.
"Look mom, I really am sorry, I promise next time will be different." said Trey.
"Next time?, how many more next times have to pass for you to finally take your responsibilities seriously?" said Maria looking a bit worried.
"Look Trey I understand that you are 21 and that you still want to have fun, but I don't want to have to live and die one of these days thinking if my son is gonna be ok without his parents." said Maria looking visibly worried.
Trey looking at his mother worried about him gave him a horrible feeling that made him feel guilty of worrying his mother the way he was doing so.
"Look mom, I really am trying, I promise you I'll be back home one of these days with a diploma in my hand and a great job opportunity ahead of me, so don't worry about me, It'll be fine, I Promise." said Trey going to hug his mother.
"You better, because neither you nor I know how long I or your dad will be able to be here to take care of you." said Maria now looking sad.
"Just promise me this, that no matter where you are, with or without us, promise me that you"ll take care of yourself and think things through before doing them." said Maria with a serious and gloomy look to her face.
"I promise mom, don't worry about it." said Trey comforting her.
"Ok, you promised, and there's no take backsies with promises." said Maria looking a little bit more relaxed.
"Ok mom, well I'm off to college now, see you in the afternoon!" said Trey releasing his hug towards his mother, opening his kitchen door and heading towards his Jeep.
"Ok, here's your lunch, pay attention in class and be careful when driving, love you! said Maria as she peeks outside the kitchen door and throws Trey his lunch.
"Love you too mom!" said Trey catching his lunch which was a sandwhich that had some egg in it which was tightly sealed in a ziploc bag as he started to enter his truck.
"Yum!" Trey said looking at the lunch his mom prepared for him.
"This is why mom's are the best!" said Trey adjusting his car's mirrors, opening the window of his car, and turning on the radio as he prepares to leave his home.
"Well, I'm off!" says Trey as he feels the fresh breeze of the wind outside as he starts to drive off towards the college he is attending.
