Tails came to, trying to stand up but he fell over, he felt dizzy. Very dizzy. He felt like he had been put through a never-ending loop de loop on his plane and he felt that he may actually be sick! After taking a minute to let his mind re-adjust, he started to take in his surroundings. He, was on a beach? He couldn't quite tell as it appeared to be night and had trouble seeing. But after the feel of sand beneath him and the sounds of small waves he was sure he was on a beach. But he couldn't be! He was on a floating island last he remembered!
Tails thoughts where cut off when he heard what sounded like footsteps. Entering a panic, he struggled to stand up and started awkwardly move away. The dizziness hasn't fully worn of so Tails had trouble moving! Stumbling and struggling to see where he was going, he heard the footsteps slowly start to move faster. This made Tail's fur raise and he started to get even more panicked and tried to move as fast as he could. Tails eventually got of the sand and walked on a hard surface which felt like stone, but there was light here! But being the least of his concerns he made a beeline for what appeared to be a small wooden structure and hid behind it. He hunched down and buried his head in his tails, shaking in fear. After what felt like an eternity, Tails decided to slowly peek out of his tails only to be horrified to see a 6'5 man towering over him!
Tails buried his head back into his tails shaking in horror. "P-p-p-please don't hurt me!"
The tall man's expression was hidden in the shadow of his hat. "What are you?"
Tails didn't respond too scared to say anything.
The man leaned down and grabbed tails by the scruff of his neck, lifting him to the mans eye level and exposing tails from his tails.
"You gonna answer my question?"
"I'm a m-m-Mobian my name is T-t-tails." Tails answered in a shaky voice.
"Tails?"
The man only just noticed the two appendages hanging of the fox he was carrying.
"I see." The man lowered Tails to the ground and asked him another question.
"Are you some kind of alien or something?"
Tails building up the courage to look the man in his eyes responded. "I don't know what that i-is."
"Ok then, did he send you?" the man asked putting his hands in his pocket.
"W-Who?" Tails asked.
The man stood there in thought. Well I can't imagine this kid being a threat but then that leaves one more important question.
The man reached into his pocket and pulled out a bright shining emerald that was all to familiar to the fox.
"Does this belong to you?"
Tails eyes lit up forgetting all his fears for a brief moment "The chaos emerald! Y-YES."
He tried to grab it but the man pulled the emerald away, this reminded Tails of the situation he was in and he started shaking again.
The man shoved the emerald back into his pocket "Well then that seals it, clearly you do have something to do with him!"
Tails was starting to get confused. "Who is him?"
"Sorry kid, but I'm the one asking questions. And I'm gonna ask you to come with me!"
Tails felt his heart sank, was this man going to kidnap him!? Tails backed away slowly but before he could book it, he suddenly felt his legs had stopped working and fell over. He was losing consciousness! The man crouched down and picked up tails and hauled him over his shoulder. But Tails couldn't protest as he slowly faded into unconsciousness.
2 hours later:
The man had walked back the way he came with the strange creature he found over his shoulder. The sun had risen over an hour ago and people where stating to frolic out into the streets to start their day. The man got a few odd stares as he was entering a large hotel with the two tailed human shaped fox over his shoulder but he didn't seem to care. He proceeded past the reception desk until a man with white hair standing up approached him.
"Jotoro where have you been?"
The man whose name revealed to be Jotoro responded "I decided to take a walk and I happened upon something strange on the beach" He answered as he shook the fox hanging off his shoulder
Jotoro noticed the man he was conversing with had scratches all over him. "What happened to you, Polnareff?
"Oh, another one of Dio's assassin stand users tried to get the drop on me. But I dealt with him so don't worry about it." Polnareff answered.
"But never mind that! What the hell did you find on your walk?" Polnareff inquired as he pointed to the fox hanging off his shoulder.
"Ill explain it all when we meet up with the others." Jotoro responded.
Polnareff nodded and they both walked off to the elevator and climbed up to the first floor.
In a hotel room on the top floor
There where three men in the room, one wearing green uniform and had red hair, another wearing robes and the third appeared to be a little on the old side.
"Mr Joestar what do you believe our next course of action should be?" the man in robes asked.
"I think we should take the train next and head to Calcutta in India. Then we ca-"The old man was cut off by a knock on the door.
The red-haired man looked through the peek hole to see Jotoro and Polnareff at the door and let them in.
"Hey old man, I got someone here you should meet." Jotoro then rested Tails onto the bed.
"What the hell is it?" The Oldman asked
"It said it was a Mobian and that its name is Tails" Jotoro started as he leaned on the wall.
"He said that he had no idea who Dio is when I mentioned him, but claimed to be the owner of this." Jotoro pulled out the chaos emerald.
"He said it was called a Chaos Emerald." Jotoro finished as he handed it to the old man.
"But isn't this the-" The old man stopped himself when he noticed the contradiction in what Jotoro just said.
"Alright we'll integrate him when he comes to. For now though get some rest were going to head out in a couple of hours." Jotoro looked down at Tails then turned away and left the room without any acknowledgement.
Sometime later…
Feeling groggy Tails awoke with a yawn and tried to stretch his arms but failed to do so. When he tried to move his arms again, he realised that they where tied behind his back! Tails started to panic as he struggled against the bindings. As he was struggling, he failed to notice the room full of men looking at him. After a few minutes of struggling Tails looked forward and his face turned blue at the sight of the five men towering over him. He curled his tails Infront of him out of fear.
The men stared at him intently without saying anything….
Then the old man broke the silence with a question.
"Did Dio send you?"
Tails didn't say anything and tried his best to hide in his tails.
"Shy one, isn't he?" Polnareff stated
The Oldman spoke up again.
"Jotoro here claims that you don't know who he is. But yet you had this with you." He held up the emerald as he was talking.
Tails saw it and built up the courage to say something "Y-yeah that's one of the chaos emeralds."
Everyone's interest was peaked to say the least
"Chaos emeralds? You do realise emeralds are supposed to be green right?" The man with red hair inquired, as he pointed at the obviously blue emerald.
"W-well yeah but these emeralds are special" Tails responded
"Special how?" Polnareff asked.
"If you get all 7 you have accesses to great power!" tails said thinking back to when sonic last had them all together in his last battle with Eggman.
But that thought made him ask. "Are you all related to Eggman?"
"Eggman?" the old man asked.
"W-Well it's j-j-just that you all look kinda like him and- and he said he was gonna kidnap me and now here I am tied up." Tails said in a shaky voice.
"Well we don't know any Eggmans and we aren't kidnappers." The Oldman answered.
"Then why am I tied? Is it because of this Dio person you mentioned?" Tails inquired building courage, but not enough to come out of hiding from his tails.
"You catch on quick" the Oldman started "Yes we had a reason to believe you were sent by an evil man named Dio." The Oldman answered as he approached tails and tried to undo his ties. "But as it the way it seems now you don't look the type or age to be working for Dio."
But as he reached out tails started shying away.
The Oldman sighed "It's alright kid I ain't gonna hurt ya." Tails calmed down and let the Oldman undo the ties.
"My names Joseph Joestar." He said as he was untying the binds while trying to put on a friendly face.
"Let me introduce you to my friends here, the one in the green uniform and red hair is Noriak Kakyoin"
Kakyoin made a short bow while he was being introduced
"The one with the white hair is Polnareff."
Polnareff gave a small wave.
"The one in the robes is Muhammad Avdol"
Like Kakyoin he gave a small bow in greeting.
"and lastly the one you have already met is my grandson, Jotoro Kujo."
Jotoro pulled his hat down a bit as he was being introduced.
Tails stood up and gave a sheepish wave to everyone "um, Hello I'm Miles but those who know me call me tails." He said giving his tails both a quick swish
After he introduced himself, he turned to Joseph. "Um, so who is Dio and why did you think I knew him?"
Joseph stood up and walked over to his bag. "Let me show you."
While Joseph was grabbing whatever he was after Avdol asked the fox a question. "Say how old are you Tails?"
Tails thought about it for a moment, then he held up 7 fingers. "I'm seven, I think?"
"Where did you come from exactly?" Kakyoin asked
Tails felt pressured by these oncoming questions but answered them the best he could. "Well I was last on a floating island with a friend. But I we were attacked by Eggman and I tried to use the chaos emeralds to make him go away, but something bad happened and I woke up on the beach." Tails answered while rubbing his arm.
"Floating island?" Polnareff repeated confused.
"Yeah! Angel island!" Tails said
Jotoro sighed and spoke up. "Good grief, first there's all this Dio nonsense now we got this kid telling us about magic jewels and floating islands."
Joseph came back to tails and handed him a photo. "This man, does he look familiar to you?"
Tails looked at the photo of a man with blonde hair and no shirt shrouded in darkness flexing his muscles. Tails didn't like the vibe it was giving off.
"No, I don't know who he is." Tails answered.
"Ok" Joseph continued "What about the item he has in his hand?"
Tails looked towards his hand and Tails eyes became plates!
"H-HE HAS A CHAOS EMERALD!"
"That's right, but have you noticed something about it?" Joseph asked the small fox
Tails took another look and noticed that is was identical to the one Joseph was holding!
Tails was getting confused "B-but that's impossible! There is only one of each emerald and I had all seven with me not that long ago!"
Joseph was processing everything Tails had just said. "This photo was taken about a week ago."
Tails was now at his breaking point of confusion. If the photo was taken a week ago then how in the world did this man have it? I might not be on Mobius anymore, but I only arrived to this world just a few hours ago there is no way he should have that emerald. Tails thought to himself, wile joseph had an idea.
"Why don't we check if he still has it?"
Tails was curious "Really, how? Is he here somewhere?"
Joseph shook his head "No, in fact he's no were near us."
"Then how do we check?" Tails asked as he scratched his head
"I'll show you!"
Joseph walked over to the television in the room and placed his hands on it, Avdol was concerned.
"Mr Joestar, you do realise what happened last time you did this?"
"Don't worry we're ready this time."
Tails stood next to Joseph and looked at the TV wondering what it even was.
But after a few seconds some vines started crawling out of josephs hands and onto the TV, this gave Tails a small shock.
Polnareff noticed Tails reaction and became curious but held his thought.
The TV turned on and it was sparking static until it started to focus, it displayed a dark room and sitting on a bed reading a book was the very man in the photo! Dio closed the book and stood up; he was looking away from the screen but he started talking.
"Are you watching me again Joseph? He said in an ominous tone.
"You do realise what happened the last time you did this, but I think I know why your viewing me again." Dio reached into his pocket and pulled out the Chaos Emerald.
"T-The chaos emerald, B-BUT THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! Tails shouted.
Dio continued unable to actually hear them talk. "It also appears that you have a new little friend with you." Dio said as he held up a photo of Jotoro holding Tails over his shoulder while inspecting the Chaos emerald they have, everyone was shocked.
"I'm going to be honest Tails; I didn't think I'd ever see you again after the incident with the boat but yet here you are with the Joestars again and still just as young as well." Everyone turned to Tails with a suspicious look, and tails shied away.
"But that's enough" Dio turned to the screen but his face was all shaded out, then the screen went static and then it exploded!
But Jonathan was ready and jumped back before he could take any damage. Once everyone recovered, they all looked down at tails.
Tails shied back into the wall. "I s-s-wear I've never met him before!"
"But he seems to have met you." Polnareff said pointing to tails.
"Well I don't think that seems to matter." Jotoro spoke getting everyone's attention.
"Dio mentioned that Tails is with the Joestars again, so he must have been with Jonathan back then."
"But even if any of that is true how is Tails still alive?" Kakyoin inquired
Tails became confused. "How am I alive?"
"The incident Dio mentioned was on a boat that burnt down over a hundred year ago." Joseph explained.
Tails jumped at this. "A hundred years ago!? But I'm only seven!
The room fell to silence and thought.
Until joseph broke the silence.
"Well it's not important right now, come on everyone we got a train to catch."
Everyone left the room except for Tails who was a little confused.
Joseph stopped at the door and gestured for Tails to follow.
"Well it looks like Dio is going to be on to you, so your free to join us."
Tails needed to get to the bottom of this! And he also needed to find a way home, so he came to the conclusion that he might be better off with this group, Tails may not cope very well on his own in a different world. Especially now with this Dio now interested in him.
"You coming or not?" Joseph asked.
Tails's train of thought broke and he rushed over to Joseph and nodded.
"Alright good now cover yourself with this." Joseph said as he threw a black blanked on Tails.
"Why?" Tails said as he started positioning it around his body.
"Well, it's not every day that something like you goes walking around in our world so it would probably be best to stay hidden."
Tails didn't quite understand but he did what he was told anyway.
"Alright come on, the others are waiting." Joseph walked ahead and Tails started to follow but started tripping on the blanket and fell over.
Joseph turned around and realised the problem, and then had another idea.
Bottom floor:
The elevator doors opened and the group walked out but Joseph had Tails sitting on his shoulders, while most of the blanket was covering Tails. Then Jonathan booked out of the hotel and left the motel with more stares then they would have liked.
Jotoro looked over to Joseph and Tails then pulled his hat down a little.
"Good grief."
