Hello, friends!
Take precautions and please stay safe and calm during this season of uncertainty.

"Why don't you come play with us?' Momo suggested. "Then the teams would be even."
"I think Bakugo makes up for the difference..." Kaminari muttered under his breath.
"Um, no, that's okay. Thanks, though!" Ochaco scooted backwards a bit as she spoke. Then Kaminari spoke up.
"Oh, come on, Uraraka, it'll be fun!"
"No, I'd really rather just waaaaa!" Her words turned into a frightened squeal as Kaminari scooped her up. Momo smiled obliviously as Kaminari waded away from the side. Ochaco was terrified.
No! So embarrassing! They can't know!
She was squirming in Kaminari's arms, shouting for him to let her go. All the heads turned to see what was happening. Ochaco squirmed more frantically still, but to no avail as Denki waded dangerously close to the deep end, laughing as if this was all a joke.
"Kaminari! This isn't funny, put me down! Her eyes met Izuku's who could tell that something was off. Todoroki looked a bit concerned too.
"Wait a minute, Kamin-" Izuku had begun to say when Denki laughed.
"As you wish!" He then chucked her into the deep end as if she weighed no more than a flower. Ochaco felt the cold rush all over her body. She was barely able to keep her head above the water for moments at a time. What was supposed to have been a cry for help came out only as a choked splutter. She barely saw everyone's forms, frozen in confusion... Except, two of them began to move. Ochaco's mind swam in and out of consciousness. She could hardly make out the forms of Midoriya and Todoroki splashing toward her. Uraraka couldn't tell if they were actually that far away, or if her disoriented mind was playing tricks on her.
She awakened slightly to feel the startling chill of rushing water filling her lungs. This made her cough, splash, and splutter more frantically than before. Ochaco was exhausted. She allowed her aching limbs to rest.
Just for a moment.
She became calm.
she finally attempted to move, Uraraka realized that her stubborn limbs would not comply. Her mind was growing hazier by the second, and finally, exhaustion consumed her. Ochaco closed her eyes and drifted into darkness.
*Izuku*
"She's sinking!" A worried shriek escaped Jiro's mouth as Izuku and Shoto reached Ochaco. Todoroki plunged into the water. Midoriya dove down as well, but his classmate reached Ochaco first. Underwater, Shoto pulled one of her arms over his neck and headed for the surface. Quickly dashing through the shallow end, worry colored Izuku's face. He was behind Shoto, and couldn't help but stare at his friend's limp body in Todoroki's arms. It was horrible how closely she resembled a delicate rag doll. The whole experience had drained all of the cheery warmth out of her skin.
Once Todoroki reached the side, he set the unconscious Uraraka on the concrete. he placed his hand under her head to prevent it from hitting the ground too hard. Izuku and Shoto then leaped up onto the side by the pale body of their friend.
"I know CPR!" Momo cried, racing toward Ochaco.
"I'll go get Recovery Girl!" Asui croaked, Leaping over the gate and bounding toward the school.
"Sh-she's not breathing!" Jiro shouted. Minetta was, of course, already at Ochaco's side.
"Stand back!" Momo ordered, kneeling over her friend.
"But she needs me..." Minetta argued shortly before Iida clapped both hands over his face, pulling him back.
"Stay here with the rest of us." Izuku noticed that everyone had formed a circle around them, yet giving Yaoyorozu space to work. She started with chest compressions, putting one hand over top of the other, and repeatedly shoving the heels of her hands into Ochaco's chest. Momo was humming all the while. Izuku realized that she was matching the compressions to the the tune. Between each set of compressions, Yaoyorozu shushed everyone. Putting her ear to Ochaco's mouth, she listened for breathing. On the third set of 10, everyone was getting more anxious and worried.
"She should be awake by now!" Sero yelled. Mina cried out.
"Is she going to die?!"
"Shut up, you Idiots!" Bakugo Roared. "Can't you tell she's trying to focus!?"
"Pull my hair back!" Momo ordered to no one in particular, finishing the the set of compressions she was on.
Stress was evident on her face. Even so, she seemed calmer than her classmates.
"I gotcha!" Hagakure declared.
A swimsuit headed toward Momo, and stopped behind her. It appeared that her hair was gathering itself into a ponytail. Then Hagakure backed into the group to give Yaoyorozu space. Switching from chest compressions to mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, she leaned over and repeatedly forced air back into Ochaco's lungs.
After a time of chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth, everyone held their breaths. No one dared move. Tears burned in Izuku's eyes. He had always been a cryer. Most of the other girls were crying, too and he could tell that Momo was on the verge. He knew that class 1A's vice president couldn't really do much more. She was panting and clearly angry and exhausted. Todoroki was silent as usual, but Midoriya could tell that he was worried. What Momo did next was very unlike her and it startled Izuku. She half shouted, half screamed practically right into Ochaco's pale face.
"Wake up, damn you!" The compressions became increasingly violent until finally, she leaned over, listening for breathing. She then slowly sat up, tears streaming down her face. Ashido was sobbing as she put her head in her hands, and Hagakure burst into tears, kneeling. Izuku felt as if he'd been punched in the stomach. He sat back, processing.
This can't…-I mean, Ochaco isn't… Is she?
Though his mind was racing, Izuku couldn't bring himself to think the word.
Suddenly, Ochaco coughed water right into Momo's face. Without skipping a beat, Yaoyorozu rolled Uraraka onto her stomach so she could expel all the water she'd breathed in. There was a collective sigh. Ochaco wretched and Momo gently patted her back. The whole CPR ordeal had only lasted 30 seconds at most, but to Izuku, it had felt like an eternity. Although he had only just collected himself, Midoriya was so relieved, he started to cry. Todoroki glanced toward him, hearing his choked sob, and a slight smile formed on his lips. Shoto ran his hair through his bi-colored haired sighed in relief.
Although Izuku knew that Ochaco was okay, the tears would not stop coming. He rubbed his eyes and cleared his throat in a vain attempt to compose himself.
C'mon, stop, already! What would All Might say?
Ochaco got her bearings after a few minutes, although she looked very unwell, not to mention ghostly pale. Izuku could clearly hear how labored her breathing was. Not only was Uraraka exhausted, but Yaoyorozu, as well.
Their classmate who had saved Ochaco's life practically flopped over onto the ground. Of course, no-one blamed her. Then after another moment, a few students gave Kaminari a glare. Todoroki must have noticed this, because he immediately stood, speaking up.
"Do you really think blaming anyone will change anything? It'll only make the situation worse."
Ochaco looked up at everyone. Her face immediately reddened. Her eyes welled up with tears and Izuku couldn't exactly tell which of her emotions was causing them. Suddenly, she looked dizzy and extremely sleepy. Her eyes seemed to roll back and she sank to the ground from her sitting position, unconscious. Mina ran forward, probably to make sure she was only unconscious. Before she reached her friend, Iida raised his arm to stop Ashido.
"She will be alright." He reassured his classmate. "She is only unconscious."
"Hey! I hear Tsu and the teachers coming!" Jiro exclaimed. A few moments later, the teachers and Recovery Girl, led by Asui, rushed through the gate.
The teachers looked around at what was supposed to have been a fun day at
the pool. The nurse, however, made a bee-line straight for Uraraka.
"What happened here?" She asked them, calmly, yet there was urgency in her voice. Izuku guessed that in her her hurry, Asui hadn't had much time to explain. Instead of guiltily looking at his feet like before, Kaminari stepped up. He told Recovery Girl about how they had been playing volleyball, and that Ochaco hadn't wanted to play, so he'd thrown her in. He said that he was only rough housing, but he also knew if he had thought before acting, this wouldn't have happened.
The next chapter "Recovery" will be up on Sunday the 29th!
