Chapter Two: On the Road
Today was the day. Everyone is highly anticipated to head to Wiznee Land.
"What are you gonna do when we're at Wiznee Land?"
"No idea, the place is packed with awesome rides!"
"I can almost taste those Boysenberry Pies!"
"I heard those pies are the real deal!"
"I'm gonna take lots of pictures with the characters!"
Snoopy and Woodstock arrive just in time for the field trip to Wiznee Land. They were on Snoopy's motorcycle so they can catch up with the gang in the school bus.
Lucy spots the two and walks towards them. "What are you two doing here?! No dogs or birds allowed on school property!"
Schroeder talks for them. "Actually, we're going to Wiznee Land. And that's not school property."
Lucy replies back. "Yeah? Well, still!"
Snoopy then licks Lucy's cheek. "BLAH! I got dog germs! Someone get me a disinfectant wipe!" Lucy runs off.
Schroeder high-fives Snoopy for licking Lucy.
Everyone was with their assigned partners for the trip. All except for Charlie Brown, who was waiting for Heather. He approaches to Linus and Janice to ask him if he's seen her.
"Hey, have you guys seen the Little Red-Haired Gir- I mean, Heather?"
Linus responds, "No, we thought she was with you. You are her partner, after all."
"I know. I guess she's not here yet."
"Oh, there she is." Janice points at her.
Charlie follows where Janice's finger was pointing and sees Heather. Instead of her usual attire of a green dress and head bow, she was wearing a white dress with pink flowers and had a flower pin on the left side of her hair.
"Wow, she's beautiful." Charlie Brown thought.
Heather walks up to Charlie and asks if he's ready. "Ready, Charlie Brown?"
"Uh- uh- Yes!" Charlie says quickly.
The teacher tells everyone to hop on the bus. Before Charlie and Heather get on the bus themselves, the boy turns around and says to his pet dog, "Snoopy, make sure to not stay too far behind. We don't want you to get lost and take the wrong path."
As Charlie says that, the bus closes the door and takes off without him and Heather inside.
"Uh, Charlie." Heather calls out.
"What? HEY! YOU FORGOT US!" Charlie Brown yells for the bus driver to hear.
"YOU FORGOT CHARLIE BROWN AND ME!" Heather then yells, but the bus just drives further into the road. "Oh no, now what?"
Speechless, Charlie and Heather look at Snoopy and Woodstock. The four walk to Snoopy's motorcycle as the beagle gives two black helmets to the two kids.
Heather taps Charlie Brown's shoulder. "Are we really gonna ride on a motorcycle?"
"Well, it's not the first time this happened." Charlie Brown responds. "Back when we went to camp, the bus took off without me, like right now. So Snoopy gave me a lift on his motorcycle."
Heather couldn't believe what Charlie said. "This is the second time for you?!"
Charlie nods his head. "Yeah, my luck just gets the best of me."
The two humans and their animal friends hop on the motorcycle as Snoopy gets it ready.
"Hold on tight." Charlie Brown tells Heather, who was embracing him from behind.
And they took off on the road, heading to the bus's destination, Wiznee Land.
For Charlie Brown, he's already used to riding in Snoopy's motorcycle. However, it can't be said the same for Heather.
"WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE! AHHH! TAKE IT EASY! LOOK OUT FOR THE CARS! AHHH!" Heather screams, holding tight onto Charlie Brown for her life.
47 minutes later . . .
Snoopy decides to take a shortcut through a field of cattle. A bull chases the four friends behind.
Heather screams, seeing it. "AHHH!"
Charlie Brown also sees the bull. "Uh oh! Step on it, Snoopy!"
Snoopy turns right as the bull doesn't stop and bumps into a boulder. Luckily, the four made it out of the cattle field and back on the right path.
21 minutes later . . .
They made it to where the school bus is parked as Snoopy parks his motorcycle next to it. The four get off and put their helmets away.
"Thanks for the ride, Snoopy." Charlie Brown says while he pets Snoopy on the head.
Heather, feeling dizzy, asks Charlie Brown, "Charlie Brown, why can't you have a normal dog like everyone else?"
Charlie smiles and responds, "If I did, we would've missed our field trip to Wiznee Land."
Heather stands up straight, feeling less dizzy and gives a light smile. "Yeah, you're right. Thank you, Snoopy."
"Guys!" Linus calls out. "What are you doing standing there? C'mon, we're gonna go get our tickets and get inside!"
Charlie Brown responds, "We're coming!"
The four then join the rest of the students. They were standing in awe, looking in front of the entrance of Wiznee Land. There were roller coasters, a drop tower, a ferris wheel, but what struck everyone the most was the top of the park's white castle.
The teacher calls out everyone's names and the partners they're assigned with. Each pair was given two bracelets so they enter inside the park and have fun.
"Ready, partner?" Heather asks Charlie Brown.
"Ready when you are." Charlie Brown says.
And with that, everyone heads inside Wiznee Land.
To be continued . . .
So how about this chapter?
Did you guys catch some of references to this chapter? Like Janice, who was Linus's friend who had cancer in "Why, Charlie Brown, Why?" And when Charlie Brown and Heather were riding on Snoopy's motorcycle, that was a reference from "Race for your Life, Charlie Brown". I certainly had fun writing this chapter.
Next time, the Peanuts gang will get to experience the fun of Wiznee Land. See you guys later!
