Otonashi settled in well with the others, and Hope's Peak quickly became what it had been before her former self had attempted to begin the killing game: an actual sanctuary. Of course, to complete the return to Harmonious School Life, Monokuma needed to be reprogrammed. This task was one that Fujisaki was delighted to take on. He also built 2 more, admittedly mostly at Ludenberg's suggestion, as it would be nice to have someone else doing the cooking and cleaning for them. So now the students were living lavish, but they did get kinda bored sometimes. Otonashi had a rather interesting suggestion, and this led to where we are for tonight's events: the music room. Monokuma walked onto the stage.
"Welcome, kiddos, to Fierce Slay Fire And Ice Cursed Dance Child Prodigy National Regional Dance Competition!" he announced. As the competition went on, it was evident that it was going to be iconic for one reason: despair-inducing dancing. The first dance to go on was a group dance called Snapshot, featuring Fujisaki, Togami, Ludenberg, Yamada, Asahina, and Maizono dressed in suffragette costumes. This one was… a hot mess, to say the least. Next up was Owada in a solo number called Laquifa, which would have suited Fujisaki much better. Ishimaru looked at this dance and immediately thought that his BFF had been on meth when choreographing this. After this alcoholic puke-pile of a dance, Kirigiri and Naegi did a duet called The Grifters, which was trashy as hell and made Otonashi wonder if making a dance competition was a good idea. Fujisaki was next with a solo called Broken Dancer. Not even his biker boyfriend could escape wanting to scoop his ears out with a fork. Fukawa's solo followed, called Double Take. No one liked this dance.
Following this was a breather from the abjectly horrifying in the form of a duet by Ludenberg and Yamada called "Tango", which raised the bar for everyone and did so flawlessly. To say that everyone was surprised at this was a gross understatement. Ikusaba did her solo afterward, called Master Of Disguises. It would have been just as good, had her Enoshima wig not fallen off mid-performance. Naegi's solo, Cowboy, was next, and through his choreography, he somehow managed to look more like Baldi than Baldi himself.
Otonashi's solo, "Dream On A Star" which was next, was the best solo by a long shot. The choreography was stunning! Following this was Kirigiri's solo, called You Go-Go Girl. Sure, tapping was quite hard, but no one actually thought that it was a good dance. After that attempt, Ogami finally took the stage with her solo, You Do. She attempted an aerial that haunted Asahina's nightmares for weeks afterward. This was followed by a group dance called Light My Fire, featuring Ogami, Owada, Kuwata, Fujisaki, Ludenberg, Maizono, Kirigiri, and Yagakure, which proved that not even hip hop style dances were sacred enough to be butchered.
Yes, Ishimaru did finally get on the stage to perform a solo, called Honeybee. This one had choreography that tied with Naegi's solo as the worst choreography of the entire competition. After this disgrace to humanity, there was the last group dance of the night featuring Yamada, Otonashi, Asahina, and Ikusaba, called "That Lass Has Class" which was definitely the best of the group dances. Following this were the remainder of the solos: Ludenberg's "Bully", Yamada's "I Just Want To Sit On The Couch And Eat Chips", Yagakure's "On The Edge Of My Seat", Asahina's "Too Hot To Handle", Maizono's "Rock That", Togami's "The Entertainer", and finally Kuwata's solo as the grand finale.
He was going to play the flute and use it as a prop in the dance. He took the stage and began his performance. The song he played was horrifically out of tune, to say the least. As soon as the others thought it couldn't get any worse than this, it did. And by that, I mean that he put his flute down and started stripping until he was only in his supportive sports underoos. Even Monokuma could be seen visibly cringing at the sight. He then started gyrating his hips. Then he put the flute in front of him and began using it like a pole. The ladies screeched in horror at this. Then he started playing the flute again, gyrating his hips all the while until he finished his song.
For the 3 group dances: "Snapshot" was last, with the winner being "That Lass Has Class". For the solos, 3rd Place went to "I Just Want To Sit On The Couch And Eat Chips", with 2nd going to "Master Of Disguises". The winner was "Dream On A Star". It was decided that the better of the two duets was "Tango".
