A/N: Hi you guys, thank you to everyone who submitted so far, I'm enjoying reading all of your characters. I tried to make this one longer than the first one because I felt that it was to short, also I was gonna introduce some of the characters I've selected in this chapter but I decide to wait and just give you guys a bit more of an idea of how I write and to show you that I didn't give this story up or anything. Remember if you want please leave me constructive criticism, it really helps me better my writing. This is that last prologue until the story begins, so the next chapter wont be until after the deadline.
Also to those who haven't, please have fun making your characters. I cant wait until I get to be able to read them.
bye for now, Shi
The sun was high in the sky casting a brilliant light over the yamon district, making the natural beauty of the environment glow. No matter day or night the beautiful pond was always sparkling with water lilies gently swaying with the ripples of the koi fishes movement. Unlike the picture perfect stillness of the night the day was completely opposite with every creature arising from sleep ready to begin their day.
Yet again there was one person who was going against the flow of the environment, he showed no signs of waking up any time soon. He was curled up in his white fluffy blanket, his head was rubbing against his pillow as he let out a sigh of pure content. The blaring sound of his alarm clock on his pink nightstand was doing nothing to stir him awake. He would've been asleep all day if it wasn't for the light that finally broke through a crack in his curtains and shined right on his face. He finally woke up, and with a quick shift of his body he sat up, his legs crossing one another. His body swayed lightly side to side as he just blankly stared at the crack that caused his oh so perfect sleep to be ruined, on one of the last day of summer no less. He started to notice a dry flaky feeling on his feet a few moments into cursing the sun in his head.
Beep Beep Beep~
It was like time had finally caught up to him because he finally cut off his alarm and threw the covers off him, he wanted to see were this feeling was coming from. He finally stared blankly at the dried dirt that was stuck to the bottom of his feet, he let out a sigh as he threw his head back on the pillow "are you serious, again," without moving to an upright position he rolled off the bed, his plan was to catch himself before hitting the floor but things never go his way because as soon as he was about to roll off the bed the smell of his mother's cooking filled his room and catching himself became a distant memory, that is until he suddenly crashed against his bedroom floor. He laid their for a minute before finally getting up while letting out a groan "ugh food is both a blessing and a curse,"
He was on his way to the closet but right before his hand reached the handle he heard his mother yell from the bottom of the staircase, "Ai is everything okay up there," deciding to continue this in a moment he made his way to the door, once he opened his door he walked two feet before he was looking over the railing down at his mother, her chestnut brown hair matched her fair skin beautifully "yea everything's fine, I just fell while trying to get off my bed," once he finished his sentence his mother gave him a deadpanned stair "well humty dumpty whenever you get the chance come down for breakfast," his face was morphing to match her expression but instead he gave a fake laugh, only because he knew it would make his mom smile. Once he looked down he knew he had succeeded because his mother turned to head back to the kitchen with a big grin on her fair face. He as well turned to go back into his room but he quickly snapped back around since he needs to tell his mom about last nights escapades, unfortunately she was gone, he decided to just wait until he goes downstairs.
He turned to go back into his room ready to finally take a shower until he heard the door to his 'little' brothers room open. He craned his neck over his shoulders to see his brother stumbling out his room, his brown hair was as it usually is totally disheveled. "Good morning," was all he let out before turning to go to his room but once again before he could his brother spoke "so what happened there," he was pointing a finger Ai's obvious dirt covered feet. "Well you see I decided that I would like to start my morning off with a barefoot stroll through mud," he didn't mean to sound so rude he just really wanted to retreat to his sanctuary that is his room. Akiyo tilted his head, cerulean eyes squinted with curiosity "really?" Ai just stood their with his mouth opened, staring up at his freakishly tall for his age younger brother, he just couldn't be serious, he knew he wasn't the smartest but like come on. "No...no," after that he quickly entered his room closing his door before anymore questions could impede his return to his room.
The first thing he did was walk to his closet, he needed to take a shower, with all the dirt on his feet and ankles he just felt dirty. He slid the closet open and peered at the colorful variety of clothes that were either hanging up or folded. Even though he was in a rush to shower he took his time selecting a single shirt. Once he found the shirt of choice and grabbed a pair of low ride gray shorts and headed for the bath. He didn't want to wear pants if he was only gonna stay inside, they were a prison and he would not be confined.
*Time skip brought to you by - bath time*
Once he stepped out the bath he dried his waist length black hair and then he put on his gray low rise shorts and threw on a pink oversized shirt that hid his shorts and had a big red heart over the right side of his chest. The door to the bathroom then opened letting out all the steam that had built up from his rather hot bath. 'Ahh I love the feeling of being clean' he walked out with a blush on his caramel complexion.
He put on his house shoes and basically sprinted down the steps, he was one hungry boy. He didn't spare anytime greeting his mom or brother, he just got to his spot on the table and started to eat his food.
"Before I forget to tell you, I've set your mail on the cabinet by the tv, I think it was from a school, I'm not sure though, i didn't bother to read it,"
For the first time since he's been at the table he looked up from his bowl "can i please have more rice and salmon, I'm still hungry,"
Hina just stared at her son and he stared right back at her, she moved forward, thinking she was reaching for his bowl, he held it out for her but instead of grabbing the bowl she lightly smacked him on the side of his head.
He just sat there rubbing the spot were his mother struck him. "What was that for," he sniffled. He knew it didn't hurt but he was gonna be dramatic anyway.
"Well if you didn't ignore me then maybe you wouldn't have gotten hit," she stated while grabbing his bowl and getting up to get him more food. "I don't know how you stay so little with how much you eat,"
'Wait she said something' he just stared hoping she would repeat herself, of course the thought was taken out of his head once his mom started to head his way with his food. His smile went to a frown as his mother walked past him, her small frame going to the cabinet by the tv and retrieving a envelope.
"This is what came for you about a week ago that you never collected, I did forget to tell you but you can't blame me," she handed him both his bowl and the mail. "Make sure you open it before chowing down, it might be important," he reluctantly put the bowl down and opened the envelope. He jumped up and his eyes widened as he just stared at the contents written on the paper.
Dear Handa, Ai
It is with great pleasure that I write to inform you that you have been selected to attend Ororu Academy, we strive to give you a great environment so that you can further your studies in becoming a hero. Enclosed are documents in which you will have to fill out and get back to us on the first day of attending school, blah blah blah
"Mom, how could you not tell me about this earlier but more importantly why in the world did they choose to select me, I thought they only went after those with the best of the best quirks and/or grades," he stared up at his mom utterly perplexed
"All the blame can't be on me though, you should've been checking the mail, also you're right I'm not quite sure why they chose you either," her face was blank but her cerulean eyes gave a mischievous glint
"You know you both always give that exact blank stare with basically every single sentence you both say to each other," said the boy who had just been sitting there slowly eating his meal while watching his families interactions.
Hina was the first to speak up, wrapping one of her arms around Ai's shoulder "well you already know, like mother like son,"
"Well I'm your son too but I don't act nearly as weird as both of you do, on a daily bases no less,"
"Well your more like your dad in both looks and personality." she stated giving him the same blank stare he was talking about just moments before.
"Yea I'm just glad that I did, I don't want to be like either of you two weirdos," he said while going to put his bowl in the sink, after placing his bowl in the sink his lean figure stood in front of Ai, looking down at him "anyway what you said is true, your mediocre at best I don't see why they chose you," after finishing his sentence he started to laugh his usual fair complexion now turning red.
He puffed one cheek out as he crossed his skinny arms over his chest. 'him having to crane his neck to look up made it all the worse' "Oh so I guess I'm just going to be getting attacked by everyone in this house, where's dad maybe he wants to take a jab at me too," he knew his dad was at work but he wanted to make a point.
After about a minute he stopped laughing "Oh shut up you dork, you know we love you," Akiyo said bringing his large hand up and lightly tapping his brother on his head before making his way up the stairs to lay back down on his bed.
"Love you to, green giant... anywayyyyy I'm not sure if I even want to go to this school, my quirk isn't great and my grades are just as Akiyo says mediocre at best...what if I'm an outcast there," uncertainty lacing his entire being
"It doesn't matter if your grades are mediocre or your quirk isn't that great, to you might I add. If you want to be a hero then go ahead and be a hero, who cares what those other kids might say, achieve your dream and don't ever settle for less. Remember don't sell yourself short, even though you are pretty short," she couldn't help but work in a joke at the end.
Ai really did appreciate his mother to no end, the way she joked around in a situation that others would deem serious. He started to sniffle, then he hid his face under his hands as tears started to come out.
Hana then wrapped her arms around her sons shoulders "Ai there is no reason to cry... those words were suppose to inspire you not make you cry,"
" I-it's not my fault t-this is just a very wholesome moment," he responded trying to speak through his tears. Hana only let go of her son once he had finally stopped crying, she patted Ai's back, fixed her creased skirt and walked off to her room to go retrieve her phone.
'I'm going to attend Ororu Academy and try my best to become a great hero but for now I'm gonna finish my food and think about my costume later!'
