Hey brother! Do you still believe in one another?

Hey sister! Do you still believe in love? I wonder

Oh, if the sky comes falling down, for you

There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do

What if I'm far from home?

Oh brother, I will hear you call

What if I lose it all?

Oh sister, I will help you out

Oh, if the sky comes falling down, for you

There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do

Avicii- Hey Brother

TRIGGER WARNING: Graphic Gore

Jade's POV:

"Rex?" Cat yelled, springing up from the couch.

"Well I'd never thought I'd see the day." I remarked.

"Well you thought wrong, Elvira." The curly-haired angel shot back at me as he entered the house, Melanie trailing behind him.

"Y-You're back to normal!" Tori shouted. "What happened?"

"The novis potion." Rex answered. "Robbie met Gabriella in the woods, and he agreed to go with her in exchange for the potion." He jerked his thumb in the werecat's direction. "Mel here poured the potion on me, and it turned me back."

"Novis potion?" Shelby asked. "What's that?"

"It's a very rare potion that can cure any curse or ailment." I explained to her before training my attention on Rex once more. "Now what did you say about Robbie and Gabriella?"

"He left with her in order to get the potion off of her." Melanie told us. "He gave me a look like he knew what he was doing, so I went to his house, snuck in through an open window, and cured Rex... we went to look for Robbie in the woods, but we couldn't find him. Rex tried to use his powers, but they're sort of... halted?" She looked towards the angel in question for a clear answer.

"Yeah kinda." He agreed. "Because I was a puppet for so many years, my powers need a while to fully return to me."

"Well what the hell are we waiting for?" Sam demanded, sauntering towards the front door. "Let's go rescue that dork."

Robbie's POV:

Gabriella put her arms around my waist, laying her head on my chest. I hugged her back, internally cringing by making physical contact with her.

"I'm so glad you changed your mind." She said.

"Me too." I mumbled, not really caring to sound convincing.

I don't even think she believes I'm sincere anyway. I thought as she pulled away from me and taking my hand in hers.

"Come on." She tugged my arm and began to walk deeper into the woods.

"Where are we going?" I asked, reluctantly following her lead.

"I have something I need to show you." She answered with a smile. "It's going to change your entire life."

I swallowed a nervous lump in my throat as my mind raced with possibilities. Was she going to kill me? Or my family? My friends? Was she taking me to get inducted to become a hunter?

I felt sick at the thought of being forced to become a monster hunter. They've killed many of my fellow monsters- hell, they've gotten some of my family. I'd rather die than join them.

While that revolting thought stewed in my head, Gabriella had let go of my hand, and pointed to an opening in between two thick trees.

"Go to the clearing over there." She commanded. "That's where your surprise is."

I complied, but felt a chill race up my spine at the sound of her excited tone. A feeling of dread began to build up in my stomach as I closed in on the opening. I drew in a long breath as I reached the clearing before stepping in.

At first, it didn't seem like there was anything out of ordinary at first, but then I noticed two people laying down at the opposite end of the clearing.

I cautiously approached the two figures, using my powers to conjure up a ball of light in my hand. I crouched down and held the light out.

It was Andre and Courtney.

"What the-?!" I screamed, springing back up into a standing position and whirling around to face Gabriella who was standing in the opening I had entered in from. "What the hell did you do to them?"

"It's for the ceremony." Gabriella explained, pulling a long, platinum blade out of her jacket.

"That's a holy blade..." I said. "But you're not going to kill me. So..." I trailed off before it hit me.

"You want me to give up my wings and become human?!" I shouted.

"Yes!" Gabriella nodded forcefully thrusting the blade in my direction. "That's the only way we can be together."

"Gabriella... you know that me becoming human means I have to sacrifice another." I spared a look to my two unconscious friends. "I can't kill my friends."

"This. Is. The. Only. Way." She growled through gritted teeth, marching over to me and forcing the blade into my hands.

"No." I stepped away from her. "Nononononono." I dropped the blade and buried my head in my hands. "I can't. I fucking can't."

"Why not?"

I jumped at the sudden sound of another voice- a familiar one.

No. It can't be.

"Sinjin?" I shrieked.

"Hey Robbie." I heard his voice behind me.

"You- you traitor!" I yelled, turning to face him. "Did you do this? Are you working with her? How could you!" I gestured to Courntey on the ground. "That's your sister!"

"Sinjin came to me." Gabriella explained, moving so she was in my line of vision. "He knew about my plans through the stories his sister told him about me trying to get to you, and told me he'd be willing to help." She scooped up the blade off the ground and tossed it to Sinjin, who caught it smoothly.

"But- but- but- how?" I sputtered. "Sinjin, your sister is a succubus. All of our friends are monsters!"

"Humans have to look out for each other." He reached out and clapped a hand on Gabriella's shoulder. "That's a fact I had to learn on my own."

I felt tears beginning to stream down my face.

"Fuck you." I spat. "Fuck you. You piece of shit." My voice broke at the end.

"Sorry Robbie." Gabriella told me. "But this was the choice you made. If you hadn't been such a coward and killed me earlier... then you wouldn't have to do this."

"I'm leaving." I said, beginning to unsheathe my wings to fly away.

"You do that, and your other friends are fucked." Gabriella threatened me. "That includes your precious brother."

I started sobbing.

"Just do it." I said. "Kill me. I don't want to live in a world where I become the thing I hate most."

"You're choosing death over a life with me?" Gabriella demanded, offended.

"Yes!" I shouted. "A thousand times yes!" I then glared at the other male. "Kill me, you traitor. Do it!"

Gabriella scowled at me before addressing Sinjin. "Kill him then."

Sinjin walked over to where I was standing, and got behind me. He took hold of my shoulders from behind, and I braced myself for the killing blow. He leaned in towards me and whispered in my ear.

"Smite her."

"Wh-What?" I asked, bewildered.

"You heard me. Smite her." He ordered, letting go of me.

Gabriella was watching us with confusion on her face before the words "smite her" came up. Her eyes widened into saucers and she began to back away.

"Oh no you don't." I snapped, using my telekinesis to stop her in place, and then propel her towards me.

"Look away, Sinjin." I yelled to him. He complied, closing his eyes and turning away.

"Robbie please." Gabriella pleaded with me.

"Sorry, Gabriella." I said. "I'm done being a coward. I don't like killing, but I'm making an exception."

I breathed in deeply before unveiling my actual angel form- a form that's not cherubic, but downright eldritch in appearance.

Gabriella let out a bloodcurdling scream at the sight of my true face- I'm sure my ungodly amount of limbs and many pairs of eyes truly terrified her.

Gabriella's screams continued until her voice began to get hoarse. She clawed at her own face, leaving scratches and marks before the force of my powers destroyed her from the inside out. She coughed and sputtered as she began to throw up her organs- pancreas, stomach, liver, kidneys- it all came out until she deflated and collapsed to the ground, laying on top of a hill of her own innards.

I shifted back into my "human" form and said to Sinjin, "You're good to look now."

Sinjin turned back to look at me and smiled. "You did good man." He complimented me.

"So you really weren't working with her?" I questioned him.

"Nope!" I was startled yet again at the sound of my witch friend's voice. I looked at the ground and saw Andre and Courtney were conscious and sitting up. "It was all a ruse."

"I don't understand?" I looked back at Sinjin, then back at Andre, and then at Courtney.

"I told my brother about all the trouble Gabriella had been giving you." Courtney explained, quickly standing up, helping Andre along the way. "He suggested that we come up with a plan to get rid of her for good."

"But we knew that you don't really like killing." Andre cut in. "So we came up with an idea that would get to angry enough to finally kill her." He nodded towards Sinjin.

"So I approached her at school and told her I wanted to help." My human friend explained. "I told her I had deserted my family and wanted to become a monster hunter. I gained her trust and told her about the becoming human ritual. I made a fake plan to knock out Andre and Courtney while they were on a date and use one of them as the sacrifice needed to make you human."

"He told us the plan, and we agreed to it." Courtney interjected. "So he pretended to knock us out with magic powder, and we acted like we were unconscious. Gabriella and Sinjin took us here, and she went off to find you since she knew you'd trade yourself for the novis potion that Andre had made."

"Wait you made that?!" I asked Andre.

"Yeah." He smiled and nodded. "I finally managed to find all the ingredients to make it, and was going to give it to you, but when Sinjin suggested this idea... I couldn't resist. It was perfect. You get your brother back, and we get Gabriella out of the picture for good."

"Wow." I breathed out, shaking my head. "This is... a lot to take in. I can't believe it worked out."

"Well, Burf was in on this too." Sinjin informed me. "I was in contact with him the entire night, and he was making sure nothing went awry."

"I didn't even know Burf knew about monsters." I confessed.

"Sinjin told him." Courtney said, pointing a finger in her brother's direction.

"I had to tell him eventually!" The curly-haired man defended himself.

Before I could say anything else, my phone buzzed in my back pocket. I pulled it out and saw that Melanie was calling.

I answered without a second thought. "Mel?"

"Nah." A male voice said back. I know that voice!

"Rex?" I said.

"There you go!" He laughed. "Thanks for the potion by the way!"

"It worked?"

"Yep! I'm back to normal. Man... you should have seen the look on Tori's face when she realized it was me." He laughed again.

"What's he saying?" Courtney asked.

"He's back to normal." I told them.

"The potion worked?" Andre did a fist bump. "Yes! Sikowitz is going to flip when he hears what I achieved!"

"Where are you, Rex?" I asked into the phone.

"Cat's house." He answered. "Melanie took me here. Probably because this is where her sister lives... you picked a good one by the way. She's pretty hot."

I rolled my eyes. "Stop it." I scolded him.

"Well you better get over here." Rex told me. "Everyone wants to know if you're okay. Melanie said you ran into that crazy hunter who won't stop stalking you."

"Yeah." I glanced down at Gabriella's corpse before continuing. "Tell them I'm okay, and that I'll meet them soon."

"Roger that, bro." He said before the line went dead.

"Rex and a bunch of our other friends are at Cat's place." I told the others. "Let's go."

"Hold on a second." Sinjin said, pulling out his own phone and typing something.

"He's texting his boyfriend." Courtney teased.

"Boyfriend?" I asked.

"Burf." Sinjin told me. "We've been dating for about three months now."

"Oh I didn't know you were gay."

"I'm pansexual." He shoved his phone back into his jacket pocket. "Burf will meet us there." He began jogging towards the exit of the clearing. "Let's move."

A/N: I guess you wonder where I've been... I searched to find a love within...

It's been what? Three years since I posted anything? Well a lot got in the way- moving houses, moving schools, family problems, depression, de-motivation, getting a new job, and working on my health.

I didn't plan on ever returning, but I changed my mind. I considered returning for a couple of months now, and I'm back I guess. At least for a while. Updates may not be the quickest, but I'm not going to disappear again... for now.

Also, AN IMPORTANT DETAIL to mention is that I updated and changed some things in the earlier chapters, so I suggest re-reading the story, not only to see the changes, but to refresh your memory of the story itself and it's progress.

So thanks for not giving up on my depressed ass and reading this.
