Okay, so I didn't like the way I ended off the last chapter, because I don't want you guys to go without knowing what's going on with Lana. I plan on finishing this story in the next few weeks, but in case I don't, I wanted to give you guys something better. In time, I'm just going to combine this into the original Chapter 14, but for now, just enjoy it! Chapter 14.5.

Lana disappeared completely, with no trace of her remaining in the throne room. Her thoughts blazed around her, making her head swim as the vacuum of instantaneous travel made her feel as if she was going to burst. Link had just been reaching out to grab her so that she wouldn't be taken, and the last thing she saw was his light blue eyes in a fear and panic.

Lana tried to reach out, but Vaati's power was holding her completely still. Or should she say, Majora's Mask's power. She didn't know if he had used the Tear to restore his power completely yet, but she could bet it if he hadn't used it yet, he would as soon as they reappeared wherever his secret base had been this whole time.

That's it, she thought, a ray of hope in her mind. She had studied this land extensively, and there was a song that the Hero of Time played whenever he wanted to get around. Ooh! She could play it and… no, that wouldn't work. She'd never hit any of the owl statues with a sword or anything, and she also didn't happen to have an ocarina.

What to do… she smiled to herself. Oh, yes, that would work. Vaati would never see it coming, but she had to do it at the exact moment. She was somewhat familiar with the magic that Majora's Mask was channeling right now, so all she would have to do would be to open a gate of time.

This would take a huge chunk of her power, but it was all she could think of to do. It would take her back to Hyrule, what was her present day, but she didn't have a choice. Cia had done it, so could she.

But she had to wait a few more seconds. Majora's Mask would take them exactly to where he was hiding, and then she would open a gate. Just a few more seconds would do it. She chuckled to herself. It was instantaneous travel, but oddly enough, the space of time between jumps, though outside of the void of time they were bound by, still had time pass within it, even though zero time passed outside of it.

Suddenly, they appeared out of thin air in a dark, colorful, and damp room. There was water everywhere, and she immediately knew exactly where they were. Vaati threw her to the ground and kicked her. Even though he was short, he had a lot of strength behind that kick.

She looked up and the Mask's vibrant orange eyes stared back at her. "Oh, no," she whispered, a horror rising up inside of her. The Tear really worked.

Lana summoned all of the power that she had inside of her and willed a gate of time to open right beneath her and she fell through. As soon as she appeared in the Lost Woods of Hyrule, she closed the Gate, hearing a faint screech as the entity realized what she had done.

She was safe, for now. Except… she looked around her to take in the Lost Woods, but they were gone. The land was completely barren, not a single tree for hundreds of miles that she could see from the elevated land. Lana looked over the land and gasped in horror. This wasn't supposed to be what happened. They were supposed to win, weren't they?

It wasn't just the Lost Woods that were changed. In the distance, Death Mountain was frozen over completely. It was normally a spewing volcano, but now it was an ice-topped mountain. She looked towards Zora's Domain and Lake Hylia, but there was no lake. It wasn't dried up, it was filled with lava. LAVA! So… without her in that time, they would fail. She needed to go back as quickly as possible, but without the woods, it would be almost impossible for her to find the Gate to Termina.

Oh, shoot. Shoot! Shoot! SHOOT! She stomped her feet on the ground and threw her tome. She could try opening another gate, but she didn't have enough control over them to bring her to the exact time she needed to be in. She could end up in the right time, or maybe she'd accidentally end up in the era where the Hero of Time actually fought Majora's Mask the first time.

The Gate would still be open, Lana was sure of it. Even though Majora had immense power, only she had the power to close and open the Gates. Unless… well, unless he managed to find the full Triforce. And if this is what the future was like, that means that he defeated Link.

She peered towards Hyrule Castle, which was replaced by a small cottage. Seriously? That Mask was just trouble incarnate, wasn't it?

A harp sounded behind Lana, and she immediately got into attack stance, turning to face her new adversary. It was Zelda. Well, Zelda, disguised as a Sheikah who would refer to herself as Sheik. She was playing on a harp. "You're alive!" exclaimed Lana, excitedly. "Sheik, you're—!"

Sheik was next to Lana in an instant, with a knife held up to her throat. "Woah!" shouted Lana, trying to back away, but she felt Sheik's hand keeping her pressed against the knife.

"Who are you?" asked Sheik, her enchanted red eye staring into Lana's purple eyes. Eye? One of her eyes was missing completely, nothing but a scar over her eye lid to show that anything had even once been there.

"It's me! Lana!"

"Listen to me. I don't know who you are. Some daft old owl found me and said that I needed to be here on this day at this exact time to meet a girl who looks just like you. So I'm going to ask you again, who are you?"

Lana stared into Sheik's eye in shock. If Majora won in the past, that means that their future—their entire future—was completely lost. She had to return, otherwise, Link! Oh, no. If Link lost in the past, that means that the future was… that he never went back… that all of time was…

No. Hope wasn't lost. If she could make it back to that time, then she would still have time to fix everything. Even if Link was still in this timeline, there was still a version of him stuck in the past who needed her.

Lana stared into Sheik's—no, Zelda's eye. "I'm the Sorceress of Time. Lana." She felt the knife press harder into her throat.

"The Sorceress of Time is dead. Killed by God. Try again."

"Zelda, you need to trust me," said Lana, not feeling intimidated by the dagger at her throat. At the mention of her name, Zelda stepped back and unveiled her face. Her eye color changed back to blue and her skin grew paler.

"H-how did you know—?"

"I told you. I'm the Sorceress of Time. I need your help getting back to the past."
