"I never said you were an idiot," Ellen replied.

"I know how to administer medicine," Chris said.

"How is he doing? Is he still in a lot of pain?"

Chris nodded.

"Can he do his exercises?"

"Barely," Chris said.

"That doesn't sound good," Ellen told Chris.

"No," Chris said, "It isn't."

Ellen reached for her purse.

"This might help," she said taking something out, "It's called Tiger Bomb. When I was in pain I put it on every day and it cut the pain in half."

"Wait," Chris said, "Every DAY. Exactly how long did you have to use it."

Ellen sighed.

"A month," she said.

"A MONTH! Oh my GOD Ellen I had no idea. I am so sorry."

"Chris," Ellen said, "Just use this with Tam's ankle. One scoop mixed with cold water 3 times a day."

"Thanks Ellen," Chris said giving her a quick hug.

"It won't make the pain go away," Ellen said, "But it will make it better."

Kim carried Tam out.

"Hey buddy," Chris said, "Before you watch cartoons I have something for you. I'll be right back."

Chris went to the kitchen measured out one scoop and put it in a cup mixing it with cold water. After that he put the Tiger Bomb on Tam's ankle.

"It feels weird," Tam said.

"I know," Chris told him stroking his hair, "But it's going to make you feel a lot better."

Tam smiled.

"Thanks daddy," he said.

"Of course buddy," Chris said kissing his forehead.

He set Tam down on the couch and turned on the cartoon network.

"Mommy, daddy can you guys watch with me," Tam asked.

"Of course," Chris said.

Ellen looked at her watch.

"It's time for me to go anyway," she said, "I'll see you guys soon."

She left. Chris sat next to Tam on one side. Kim sat next to Tam on the other side. Tam was fascinated with the cartoons. Kim and Chris soon grew board of them and started talking.

"You know Tam is going to be three soon," Kim said.

"When is his birthday," Chris asked.

"It's April 18th," Kim replied.

"Well that's a few months away," Chris said smiling.

"I was thinking we should celebrate his birthday," Kim said, "Maybe take Tam and Hao to a play or something. I don't know much yet but-"

"Of course we're going to celebrate his birthday," Chris said, "We have time to figure it out."

"I love you Chris," Kim said.

"I love you too and I love Tam."

"I can see how much you love Tam," Kim said, "and I can see how much he loves you."

"I never thought I would love someone as much as I love you," Chris said, "But I love Tam as much as I love you."

"So do I," Kim said, "But it's a different kind of love. I would kill for him. I HAVE killed for him. I would die for him. I almost died for him."

"What do you mean you killed for him," Chris asked.

"Thuy was about to murder him with a knife," Kim said, "and I shot him with your gun."

"Thuy isn't a person. He's a piece of garbage," Chris said.

Kim laughed.

"The only thing I'm mad about is that I didn't kill him myself," Chris laughed.

"Well you were a part of it," Kim said, "I did kill him with your gun."

"True enough," Chris said.

"Mommy," Tam asked, "Can you read me a story?"

"Sure sweet boy," Kim said.

She read him a children's book and he fell asleep. Kim gently carried him to his bed and laid him on it. Then she came back to Chris.

"When you said no animals allowed do you mean any animal or just dogs and cats?"

"Well just dogs and cats," Chris said, "Why?"

"I just think Tam would love a bunny rabbit," Kim said

Chris grinned.

"I think that's a great idea," he said, "Let's go shopping tomorrow."

"Okay," Kim said smiling.
