NicoleR85: thanks. As Josie knew about Sarah Jane through her dreams, she wasn't going to react the way Rose did toward her.

Savethemadscientist: you'll have to wait and see who joins the Doctor and Josie in the TARDIS.

"Do you think we should wake her?" Mickey asked Beth quietly as they watched Josie doze in the coffee shop, head on the table.

"Nah, let her rest. Who knows how many good nights sleep she gets, especially when she has those dreams", Beth replied.

"Bet she sees some pretty scary things", Mickey remarked.

"You have no idea", Beth said.

Over at another table, Sarah Jane was watching the Doctor work on K9. "Did I do something wrong?" she asked "because you never came back for me. You just…dumped me".

"I told you. I was called back home and in those days humans weren't allowed", the Doctor reminded her.

"I waited for you. I missed you", Sarah Jane admitted.

"Oh, you didn't need me", the Doctor said, dismissively "You were getting on with your life".

"You were my life", Sarah Jane said softly making the Doctor glance up at her "You know what the most difficult thing was? Coping with what happens next, or with what doesn't happen next. You took me to the furthest reaches of the galaxy, you showed me supernovas, intergalactic battles, and then you just dropped me back on Earth. How could anything compare to that?"

The Time Lord looked at her, brow furrowed. He opened his mouth to respond when Josie let out a small scream, sitting bolt upright. That had the Doctor out of his chair and over to the blackette, the young woman was pale and shaking. "What did you see?" he asked, though he had a strong feeling that she wouldn't say.

Josie shook her head and pressed her face into his chest. The Doctor rubbed her back while the other three looked on, all rather sympathetic. "I'm sorry", she mumbled.

"You don't need to apologise, its ok", the Doctor said softly.

Josie looked up at him "you better get back to your repairs. You need to analyse the oil", she said.

"That can be done later. You're more important", the Doctor said.

"I'm fine Spaceman", Josie insisted "I'm actually gonna go get some air".

"Want me to come with you?" the Doctor asked.

"No thank you. I want to be alone", Josie replied. She didn't wait for a response before she left the café. The blackette let out a breath and rubbed her face tiredly, flickers of the dream dancing around behind her eyelids. This one was different from the others because for the first time it wasn't clear. It was chaotic and the giant bats were heavily featured along with some weird green writing and a big explosion. She honestly couldn't make heads or tales of it. Was it due to her actually being present in this adventure? Or was this dream something her brain had simply made up?

Up on the rooftop, Mr Finch and one of his Krillitanes watched the young woman. Mr Finch smirked "Get her", he ordered. Josie's head shot up when she heard a screech, her eyes widening when she saw one of those creatures swooping down at her!

She let out cry, stumbling back. Suddenly her mysterious Scottish friend appeared and sent the creature flying away with a high pitched noise, very similar to the sound that Josie had heard at the hospital before passing out. "Are you ok?" the 12th Doctor asked, turning to Josie.

She shook her head "no, not really", she admitted. She was still shaken by the dream and this near attack made it worse.

The Doctor gently brushed away a tear that had fallen from the blackette's dark blue eye. He was about to say something when sandshoes ran out along with Sarah Jane, Beth and Mickey rushed out. The older Time Lord quickly turned and walked away. "What happened?" the 10th Doctor asked, checking her over for injuries.

"A giant bat gave me a scare", Josie replied, bending the truth slightly. There was obviously a reason John had decided to leave rather abruptly at the appearance of the Doctor and the others. And it wasn't her place to say. From the corner of the street, the 12th Doctor watched his younger counterpart embraced Josie, murmuring assurances to her. He then left.

A smile appeared on the Scottish alien's face upon seeing the person sleeping in the armchair on the upper level. He made his way over, shrugging off his coat as he did so. The Time Lord draped it over the blackette, taking care not to wake her. "Sweet dreams, little dreamer", he said softly pressing a kiss to her temple. He then went back down to the console to power up the scanner to find out which of his previous adventures he'll need to return to, after coffee and chips of course.

"Its getting late", the Doctor remarked noting the time as he stepped into the spare room Sarah Jane had given to both him and Josie. The blackette in question was standing by the window, staring out. "Maybe you should get some sleep", he gently suggested.

"I can't", Josie said, not looking away from the window "every time I close my eyes…I see those things". The Doctor moved over to her, touching the small of her back.

"I can help", he said, making Josie look at him "only if you want". He had a useful thing where he only had to touch his fingers to someone's temples and the fall asleep. But he didn't want to use it on Josie unless she gave him her consent.

"Yes please", Josie said.

The Doctor placed his fingers on her temples and a second later, Josie fell into a slumber. He picked her up and carried over to the bed. The Doctor placed her on it and laid down next to her, pulling the covers over them. He brushed her hair back from her face "dream about red grass and silver trees", he said quietly before proceeding to reminisce about his home planet, sticking to his fond memories of it. He knew that she would be able to hear him, at least for a little bit before she went into a deeper stage of sleep. And he hoped that if he told her some nice memories of Gallifrey, that she'd have pleasant dreams instead of have one like the dream she had in the café that had shaken her up so badly.
