Remnant's Guardian-16
~Scythe: POV~
"Whoa, this place is huge." Yang said, as she Blake, and Amber walked into the building, looking around in amazement.
The place itself wasn't all that fancy. Just real big, with a lot of space on the first floor. In terms of size, it was about 5,000 square feet in diameter, with two upper floors, plus an attic, and a basement for storage. It was located within the walls of Vale still, but it one of the more, forestry areas of the city. It wasn't new by any means, it was built in the Pre-War times, but had a solid build, foundation, and a secret, personal history, only I knew about.
"I think this place will do." I smiled, looking around the spacious place.
"Are you sure you wouldn't like to purchase anything more, modern sir? There are plenty of homes in the suburban limits of the city that are just as spacious, affordable, and not so much of a fixer upper." The real estate agent asked me.
"No, this place will do." I smiled pulling out the cheque book I had recently acquired from the branch of my bank here in Vale. "If I read the blueprints correctly, the building is still solid, and was built to withstand Dust Bombings that could level an entire valley, right?"
"Uh yes sir. This was a Faunus Stronghold, built as a safe haven during the war." The agent said.
"Perfect. The full price for the entire place was a hundred fifty thousand Lien, right?" I questioned.
"Yessir." He said.
"Here you go." I smiled, handing him the cheque for the full amount.
"Um… I uh…"
"Just bring back the paperwork and deed when the cheque is fully deposited in about a week." I said patting his shoulder.
"Yes… yes sir." He said pocketing the cheque and grabbing his things, before leaving.
"So, this is our new home huh?" Amber asked.
"Yep." I smiled heading over to one wall.
"Why exactly this place if you don't mind me asking." Blake inquired.
"Well, how many of you remember the war between the Faunus, and what significance this place played in it." I asked.
"As the monkey suit said earlier." Yang started. "It was a Faunus Stronghold meant to protect the women, children, and elderly who couldn't fight in the war." She exclaimed, going into a bit more detail.
"Yes, but what is it you think every Stronghold has?" I questioned tapping a few bricks, smiling at the one that sounded hollow.
"Well, I'd imagine it has secret tunnels for escape, ration stores, sleeping areas, and even…"
"Hidden storage spaces." I smiled, pushing on the brick, opening an aforementioned secret storage space.
"How did you know that was there?" Amber inquired in awe.
"The man who had this place built, and who had built it with Dust forged into the materials, was my great-great grandfather." I explained, before sniffing the air, my face growing into a scowl, as a guttural growl escaped my throat. "I smell an unwanted bovine." I stated closing the secret storage area and turning to where I smelt the bastard's scent coming from.
"Your sense of smell is as sharp as ever Branwen." Adam Taurus said, stepping out of the shadows. "Hello, Beloved." He said, directing his attention towards Blake.
"Yang, Blake, Amber. I'm gonna have to ask you all stay out of this." I sighed, cracking my neck. "This is my fight."
"You won't win today Branwen." Adam said.
"How's the arm Torus?" I smirked, snickering as he grabbed where the scar was on his left arm.
"So, what'll it be Branwen? One last chance to join our cause, and make the humans worship us, serve us as if we were their gods, or death for your betrayal to your own kind." Adam exclaimed drawing his sword.
"How about the third option? I. Kill. You." I growled, removing my shades.
"Then so be it." Adam stated, running for me, ready to strike with his sword.
I ran for Adam, and not even bothering to draw my blades, as he swung his at me. I hated him, and knew of his past with Blake, what he'd done to keeping her in the White Fang, manipulating her, tricking her into believing what he was doing, was for the greater good for all Faunus.
I ducked under his blade, and grabbed his wrist, squeezing it as hard as I could, forcing him to drop his blade, while my other hand grabbed his neck, and bent it to the side, keeping him in place as he wasn't able to move, for fear of his neck breaking with the position it was in.
"Blake. I'd suggest you step outside for a minute." I said as Adam fell to his knees.
"Scythe I want to stay." Blake argued.
"Please Blake, what I'm about to do, is something I'd rather not expose you to." I said, closing my eyes with a sigh. "Adam needs to pay for what he's done. An' there's only one thing that is fitting for a monster like him."
I didn't need to see Blake's face, to know she understood what I was about to do.
"Yang, Amber, please stay with her." I sighed.
"You don't even need to ask." Yang said, as she and Amber lead Blake out the door.
After they left, I opened my eyes again, revealing the blood red irises, and tore Adam's mask off his face, seeing his eyes, both his untouched and scared, widen with shock, and horror. I could sense his fear, taste it, and I was disgusted at the fact I was enjoying the taste. A side effect of when I let the Grimm Core inside me, take control for a bit, but it was a necessity for when I needed to do something that would compromise my morals. An' this was one of those moments.
~Blake: POV 2 Days Later. Nighttime~
"Tell me again, why we had to leave the Fall Maiden behind at the compound, around all those sweaty men who could try to overpower her while they renovate the place?" I asked Scythe as the three of us were lying atop one of the cargo crates.
"A: Whoever stole the other half of their power, Adam said her name was Cinder, is working with the White Fang, and Roman Torchwhick, which means she'd only draw attention. B: She's still recovering from being comatose. C: We don't need to worry, even in her weakened state, she can still handle herself against a few home renovators." Scythe said, using a pair of binoculars.
"He makes a fair point Blakey." Yang said, calling me by my nickname.
"Another thing, what the hell are you wearing Yang?" I questioned, seeing her new attire.
"You like?" She asked, turning to her side. "Because I certainly like yours."
Yang's attire had somewhat changed since we left Beacon a few days ago. She now wore a black bikini top, with a pair of tight fitting leather pants, with a stretchy X-Static material replacing the leather on the crotch area and partly down the inner thighs, but you couldn't even tell with how well the material blended in with the leather. She also wore combat heels similar to Weiss's, the only difference being they were sky high, and black with flames traveling up the sides. Her weapon's color scheme remained the same, as she wore a yellow belt through the loops of her leather pants.
I myself was wearing something similar. My top consisted of a cupped tube top, giving my breasts and extra push for perkiness, and I also wore black bell bottom X-Static jeans, with my signature combat heels hidden by my pants. Gambol Shroud was on my back, as I had purple silk ribbons connected to the back of my tube top, flowing in the wind behind me. I still hadn't put my ribbon back over my ears to make them look like a bow, I didn't care anymore. I honestly wore thing because I thought Scythe might compliment me on it, and he's done that to both me and Yang, multiple times in the last two days we've worn our new outfits.
"It's… something." I said blushing.
"I definitely like it." Scythe smiled before the wind began to pick up, and the roar of engines was heard as two airships came down, open bay doors, with White Fang soldiers filing out. "Alright, they're here. Now stick to the plan, and follow my lead. I'll do all the talking."
Scythe jumped down from the crate as Roman Torchwhick came out of the airship, and we made our way to him, before Scythe called to him, making our presence know.
"Roman." Scythe called.
"Well-well-well, if it isn't my little Dark Knight, coming to visit his old uncle. How long has it been since I've seen you, squirt?" Roman asked, laughing at Scythe, even though he was a good few inches shorter than Scythe.
"Uncle?" Yang questioned as we looked at each other in confusion.
"Been too long Uncle, last I saw you was last year, not long after you and Neo left the tribe and already made a big name for the two of you. You missing the Branwen Tribe?" Scythe asked.
"Are you?" Roman questioned tapping Scythe's chest with the hook of his cane. "I changed my name from Branwen to Torchwhick for a reason kid, you should change your last name to." He said sounding genuinely concerned for Scythe, before eyeing us up. "Who are these fine lovely young ladies?"
"Hey, easy Horn Dog." Scythe chuckled. "These two are Yang Xiao Long, and Blake Belladonna, former students of Beacon Academy, just like yours truly, and we heard through the grape vine that you were in town, and I thought you could use a few more sets of hands."
"How could I say no to family, a fellow Branwen no less?" Roman smiled. "C'mon, I might be a heartless criminal, but I'll always look after family, which means I do have a heart, I just barely use it. How's your mom doing?"
"What concerned for your little sister?" Scythe chuckled as we followed Roman.
"Did you not just hear what I said? Are those ears of your working properly?" Roman questioned, before they both shared a good laugh, which kinda warmed our hearts. "But seriously, how is she?"
"She's doing good last I saw her. Still playing to decoy Spring Maiden roll." Scythe exclaimed.
"Enough about her. Let's talk about you, I heard through my sources at the hospital, that you paralyzed a Schnee, of all people, for breaking the camels back with her racism." Roman said sounding impressed with his feats.
"I hadn't realized I'd paralyzed her." Scythe said, sounding a bit surprised, and it was faint, but I also heard a bit of remorse in his voice. Thankfully Roman didn't catch on to that.
"Oh don't be so modest big guy. C'mon the three of you get in the airship and we'll be off in a minute back to the base." Roman smiled leading us to the airship he came out of.
My cat ears twitched, and so did Scythe's as the sound of footsteps in the distance could be heard.
"Hey Uncle, are the crates hooked up yet?" Scythe asked.
"They just finished with hooking them up. Why?" Roman questioned.
"We've got company." Scythe sighed, turning around just as Ruby and a white haired woman, with her hair done up in a bun, came running through to us, and surprisingly Penny was with them to.
"Yang, Blake, Scythe?" Ruby asked in shock and confusion.
"You shouldn't be here Ruby." Yang said firmly.
"What is going on?" Ruby questioned.
"Exactly what it looks like." I said, unsheathing Gambol Shroud.
"Since Beacon is willing to house so many racist students, we thought we'd switch sides." Scythe exclaimed. "As you can see, we've already won this little debacle."
"In the name of the Police, I order you to stand down." The woman said.
"Ah, Winter Schnee. Weiss's older sister no?" Scythe asked. "How's she doing anyway?"
"She's paralyzed from the waist down, thanks to you shattering her L4 and L5 vertebra." Winter stated harshly.
"Oooh, tough luck for her. I told that little Ice-Witch that Karma would come collect her debt one day, and it looks like she's paid it in full. Speaking of debt, I heard on the news, your family went bankrupt. Now you have to eat commoner food like the rest of us. I'm so sorry m'lady." Scythe said mockingly in a rich person's voice, which kinda made me laugh a bit since he added the Atlesian Accent to it. (A/N: Think British Accent.)
"You will stop at once, and turn yourselves in." Winter exclaimed.
"Hmm, how about? No." Scythe said, sticking out his hand, and a black glyph appeared above the trio, pinning them to the ground as the engines revved up.
Scythe looked behind him to see Roman was gone and preparing for takeoff, before he went to Winter and knelt down in front of her. He punched her in the face, while also secretly slipping her a piece of paper, which I smirked at, as no one else could have caught sight of him slipping it into the Schnee woman's mouth when her jaw was facing away from us.
Scythe came back to the group, and we made our way to the airship, where Roman was waiting for us with a smile.
"Yang?" Ruby asked sounding hurt and betrayed.
"Sorry Rubes." Yang said, not even bothering to look back at her sister, as we boarded the airship, with Roman greeting us with open arms.
"Welcome, to the gang you three." Roman smiled, as the bay doors closed behind us.
