Hello readers, I'm back from the grave! And I got good news! I now have an instagram account dedicated to my Powerpuff Girls fanfics! After finding out one of my favorite authors Carriedreamer on insta I am more inspired to connect to my readers than ever before. You may follow me blackroseskira on ig if you want. There I will be posting updates on my other stories as well as Blood is Red. I will also be making doodles from time to time since some of you may wonder what the ppg and rrb look like in this universe.
This chapter is dedicated to Carriedreamer who has been a big inspiration of mine!
Blaze Wilder's mother, Carrie Wells is inspired from a character in a TV crime series called Unforgettable, she is the series' beautiful protagonist. (She is also a red-head). You can also check out the YouTube channel called DissociaDID where I get my information, research and inspiration from.
ALSO, STAY SAFE FROM THE NOVEL CORONAVIRUS EVERYONE! DON'T PANIC AND BE INFORMED.
Questions from the readers:
1. How will he escape from the police? Brick will find a way, for sure.
2. That girl dressed in her school uniform, did she have red hair? Was she Blossom? The school girl is just random, no need to dig to deep into her.
3. Will Mitch survive? Will he hear Buttercup's angry shouting again? He's dead. That's canon.
4. Is Mike gonna reveal what he has discovered to the public? Only to the judge and jury of the trial.
5. Did Rhea and Miss Bellum have some history with Blaze? Rhea's just a girl trying to make her daily rounds. And Miss Bellum will always be a mystery.
6. Did something happen with Blaze's parents? To make his mom real tired and don't attend PTA meetings? Something did happen, but I don't wanna spoil it. Where's Blaze's father? Currently MIA.
8. Was Brick already in Blaze when he was six? Does he behave mature due to situations at home? Yes, because you can only have DID at a young age AND have a severe trauma.
9. How will Blossom react to discovering Rhea trying to murder Blaze? I don't think Blossom is in the right state of mind to react to Rhea because she definitely just escaped from her kidnapper.
Loved (verb) - to hold someone dear.
Blaze gripped his mother's hand tighter as they rushed towards the door of their house. He stayed still by her side as his mother fished for the keys inside her purse to unlock the door. She was a bit nervous and agitated, Blaze could tell, because she was mildly panicking as she drove them back and Blaze prided himself in being able to read his mother's body language, like when she's scared to be late she would often look at her watch -which she was doing in that exact moment- and then she does this weird habit of hers where she just keeps biting her fingernails because of nervousness -which she did not do this time because she was driving- and all of this happened as soon as she finished her talk with Ms. Keane.
Blaze was worried that Ms. Keane thinks he was a problem student because he didn't have the so called 'fun' and 'interaction' with other children his age. And he was even more worried that Ms. Keane told since his mommy enrolled him at Pokey Oaks Kindergarten, he wondered why their teacher Ms. Keane wanted the class to be active and playful and - dare he say it- wild. Blaze was not allowed to be like that at home. He needed to be a good boy and stay quiet. It was the only thing his dad ever wanted of him. To be quiet and mind his own business, not that he knows what 'mind your own business' is. So Blaze always trained himself to be quiet and found out that reading books can help because you read with your eyes and not your lips. Although Daddy would often tell Mommy that he was too quiet, he never complained one bit. And books are kinda fun too, even if he couldn't understand some words and had a hard time pronouncing them-Mommy always helps him with his vo-cabu-laryyy.
Blaze giggled a bit when he heard the keys jingle and jangle on his Mom's hand but remained silent when he heard a quick shush from his mom and Blaze put a hand on his mouth his father is home, they can't speak unless spoken to because his father was the man of the house! He was to be respected and no one can oppose him! Maybe that's why his mommy is nervous? Because the teacher complained to mommy about his behavior at school. And she's gonna have to tell it to Daddy! And Daddy doesn't like anyone complaining!
"Mom?" Blazed asked. "Are you angry at me?"
"Why would I be angry at you Blaze? Did you do something wrong?" His mother had then opened the door. Urging him to go inside, but the child stayed still.
"Maybe. I only speak to Miss Keane when she asks me to" Blaze looked down on the ground after speaking. He could not look into his mother's eyes for fear she might be angry, but he heard his mother laugh. It was almost melodic. He looked up at her to see her wide smile.
"Oh honey, Miss Keane just wanted to tell me how very bright you were! She told me you were one of the brightest students in her class! And that you were also polite and quiet unlike the others. How could I be angry at you!", His mother motioned him to come close for a hug and Blaze happily obliged. She then lift him in her arms and went inside their house.
"Mom, since dad isn't home yet, can I watch TV?" Blaze asked her. Blaze loved it when his mom said he can watch TV. There was a show he would wait for during this time when he got home early. Too bad he can't watch it when Dad is home. Dad wanted Blaze to focus in his studies and watching too much TV can rot the brain.
"Sure, honey. Just be sure to put everything back to the way it was after you watch TV. Dad doesn't like his belongings out of place" Blaze's mother looked at her watch. 5:47 pm. Her husband would be home by 6:30 pm so there was still plenty of time for Blaze to watch.
"Yay! I will mommy, promise!" Blaze jumped and excitedly turned on the TV, while his mother quickly went into the kitchen to cook supper. From the living room, she could hear her son turn on the television and using the remote, changed it to channel 7 where he watches cartoons. The familiar introduction of his favorite cartoon made him sneak closer to the television.
Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice!
These were the ingredients chosen to create the perfect little girls!
But Professor Utonium accidentally added an extra ingredient to the concoction...chemical X!
"CHEMICAL X!" Blaze fist pumped the air in excitement while his mother prepared a tray, putting cookies in a small platter and a warm glass of milk for him to dig into.
Thus, the Powerpuff Girls were born!
Using their ultra-super powers...
"Don't sit too close to the television, honey or you'll ruin your eyes!", She reprimanded Blaze as she made her way to the living room. Blaze nodded and moved five paces back, sitting on a pillow he got from the sofa. Blaze had his eyes fixated on the screen.
Blossom! Bubbles and Buttercup!
Have dedicated their lives to fighting crime and the forces of evil!
"Look Mom! Blossom's hair is just like yours! She's the best!" Blaze smiled as his mother laughed. She decided to leave the tray of milk and cookies on the coffee table beside the sofa and sit next to her son, watching the same cartoon with him.
"Blossom's really smart! She can do anything!" Blaze said after seeing Blossom form a plan and give her sisters instructions. Blaze giggled when his mother ruffled his hair and smoothed it out. He looked at her eagerly when he saw her leaving the milk and cookies on the nearby coffee table. He grabbed a cookie and dunked it in milk, eating the sweet delight.
"You know Blaze, you and Blossom have a lot in common!" Blaze immediately turned around at the mention of his favorite Powerpuff Girl because being similar to his favorite character is certainly awesome in the best way possible. "Really, Mommy? We have a lot in common?" Leaving the milk and cookies behind, he snuggled close to his mother's chest, hugging her as she looked at him with love.
"Of course, your names both start with the letter B... You are both smart, well-behaved and red-headed!" She kissed his copper hair.
"And you know what else?" Blaze shook his head, completely forgetting to watch his all-time favorite cartoon. His mother dipped her head down, planted a sweet kiss on his forehead and whispered in his ear. "Both of you are loved"
PRESENT TIME
As far as her legs and feet could take her, Blossom mustered every strength left inside of her to run. Don't you dare give up on me now! Blossom looked at her blistered feet, running on the middle of the road. I know we haven't had a break but we will soon...as soon as we get home! Because we're almost there!
Home...Almost home...I'm almost...home. She lost her footing and scraped her knees but she could not feel it. As Blossom's vision faded, she reached out her hand hoping to be saved. Her face grazed the concrete. She could hear her chest pounding and her heartbeat calming down. It felt like her entire body was shutting down.
This must be what it feels like when you reach your limit as a human. Strange, to think I'd actually be able to escape him and live...
Rushed footsteps surrounded her body. Warm arms enveloped her. She couldn't look up to see who it was but she knew who they were. Just from the hugs. Just from the tears. The silent cries.
I'm back girls...I'm home.
"Honey, are you awake? Please wake up!" The voice of the woman is extremely familiar but her brain was searching for earlier references from her memories. The voice was silky and smooth. No, it's not Bubbles. Feminine, but not too much.
"Open your eyes, my dear..." Definitely not BC since there is no way she'd call me that. Miss Bellum, maybe?
"Bloom...my little blooming flower...wake up!" No...It-it can't be. It couldn't be her... Blossom furrowed her brows together.
"My darling...don't worry...you're safe. I-I'm here." Blossom shut her eyes tighter and covered her ears. No Blossom! Don't - don't get your hopes up!
She was determined not to give in even if her emotions were betraying her. Mother.
Soft hands dried away her tears. And at that moment, she broke down. "Mom! Mom! I missed you so much!"
"I missed you too Blossom..." Blossom tightened her grip around her mother's waist. "...but we have to go. Now! Hurry! Run!"
"What?" Blossom opened her eyes to see her mother's face change into fear and worry. "RUN!" She grabbed Blossom's wrist, pulling her up from the bed.
"MOM!" She rose up from her hospital bed, covered in cold sweat. Looking around the room she saw Bubbles and Buttercup rushing to her side. The hospital room was bigger than she had expected it to be. It had a flat screen TV screwed on the wall, a sofa and a table. She was probably in a VIP room seeing the air-conditioner turned on, making the room a bit colder. The curtains were closed but the room was bright because of the lighting.
"Bloss, is something wrong? You're so pale!" Bubbles brought her glass of water and sat on her bedside as Buttercup called a nurse outside.
"I...I'm fine Bubbles. Thank you" She drank greedily from glass Bubbles gave her, while Bubbles gave her a worried smile. "Wha-what happened, did I pass out?" She asked Bubbles as placed the glass on the table beside her. Blossom massaged her temples from the slight headache she was currently feeling.
"You did. You've been out for almost a day. We're at the hospital where I intern at." Bubbles informed her. "The nurse will be here in a moment. Blossom..." Bubbles voice got a bit more quiet. Tears ran down the blonde's face as she hugged Blossom. "I'm just...I'm just so relieved that you're back."
"I'm glad to be back." The door opened, slowly revealing Buttercup. "The nurse will be here any minute. Bloss, we were so worried" Buttercup gave her a tight hug and smiled.
"I'm happy that we found you just in the nick of time" A gasp escaped Blossom's mouth. She sent a worried look towards Bubbles and finally Buttercup.
"Did...did the police arrest Blaze?" Both the girls shook their heads. A shiver went up Blossom's spine at their response. Blaze was still out there. He was still out of reach. Blossom hoped he would get caught, but deep in her heart she didn't want him to survive at all. After all the terrible things he had done...Blossom froze when she remember the body that was inside the wooden cabin and then what he did to Mitch...
"How...how about Mitch, did he survive?" Blossom asked in alarm. At the utterance of Mitch's name, both Buttercup and Bubbles had a more saddened expression.
"He, he couldn't make it Bloss. Blood loss." Buttercup said quietly. No...no...
"I-I'm sorry...I'm so sorry" Blossom began sniffing. Her hands were close to her chest. "I killed him...I killed Mitch!"
"Nooo, no you did not!" Bubbles stood up and put her hands on Blossom's shoulder. Blossom knew she was having survivor's guilt. She knew that it was Blaze to blame for Mitch's death...but if she didn't try to escape, Mitch would still be alive. If she was only smart enough to escape on her own, Mitch wouldn't be involved at all. She was the root of the problem.
"Bubs is right Bloss! You did not do this! Blaze did! THAT MURDERER killed Mitch and Princess AND kidnapped you! You are a victim, not a perpetrator. And guess what? You survived!" Buttercup assured her.
"Yes...you should be proud of that!" Bubbles said enthusiastically. "And this time, we won't let anything happen to you" Buttercup reassured her.
"But seriously, what is up with the nurse? What's taking her so damn long?" Buttercup almost growled, tapping her foot in annoyance. Blossom smiled at her reaction.
"Oh, Buttercup. You really need to work on your patience. Ima will be here soon, she might just be held up. I'll go and find her while you stay here with Blossom." Bubbles headed for the door as Buttercup sat on the sofa. "And stop getting angry all the damn time, you'll get wrinkles!" Bubbles waved to them, closing the door.
Him looked completely serious as he listened to the person talking on the other end of the line. After exchanging goodbyes he immediately threw his phone on the limousine's leather seat. He had his fingers crossed, resting in on his knee as he smiled to the person on the other side. "She's at Townsville Memorial Hospital, are you happy now?" Him asked Blaze, who was looking outside the tinted window.
Hearing Blossom's name, he looked at Him directly. "Extremely." Blaze grinned looking back at the clouds.
"And now that you know where she is..." The car stopped, reaching its destination. Him adjusted his tie and straightened his suit.
"Him...we're here-acckk" Butch fronted as soon as Him got a hold of his neck. Both of his hands were having a hard time loosening Him's grip around his throat.
"How dare you...How dare you ruin a perfectly good plan that I made?" Him seethed, unable to hide his anger. "I had everything...everything prepared down to the last detail so I could get you out! AND YOU RUINED IT BY CHASING AFTER BLOSSOM WHEN YOU KNOW IT WAS NEVER THE RIGHT TIME" A bit of blood oozed out from Blaze's skin due to Him's cat-like nails.
Butch gasped for air, his mouth hanging open. "It-it won't...happen again" He managed to say despite his airways being blocked.
"There will never be a next time." Him emphasized and released his grip. Butch grabbed his throat as soon as he was released, coughing and trying to breathe in normally. His eyes angrily looked back and found Him's eyes staring directly at his.
"Do not dare defy me, boy." Him simply added. "There is no way to win against me." As the door opened, Him gave Butch another stern look and stepped out. And for the first time in Butch's life, he felt that he was in danger.
