5 months have passed.
Tko and Ko got used to switching places, and they ended up making a schedule. Tko takes the week, while Ko takes the weekends. It worked perfectly for Carol, but Tko hated it cause he had to go to school. There would be some days he would let Ko out in secret though.
Fink and Dendy were studying glorbs. They wanted to make a special accessory to access a turbo form. They figured out what was needed, and started to build a collar. The collar would be used to suck in a glorb, and sent it's energy throughout you allowing you to access turbo.
Fink hid this from Carol, because she knew it would be dangerous. She would show Tko some nights though, he didn't really care for it.
Shadowy wasn't around either. Carol kept her guard up, but he never came. All the glorbs in the Glorb Sanctuary weren't taken either. Carol became more relaxed after a while, and nobody ever brought him up.
Carol had also started dating Gar 2 months ago. Fink and Ko were happy for them, Tko was against it though. After a while, he got used to it. Mr. Gar became a father figure to the three, he was fun to have around.
Everything was going great for them.
Carol parked the car, and Tko and Fink hopped out. Gar was getting out of his car, and they all waved at each other.
"Tko was telling me you took him to the danger zone yesterday." Carol said. "Is..that okay..?" Gar questioned. "Yeah! He said he had a lot of fun."
"No I didn't! She's a liar!" Tko shouted. "Tko, you wouldn't shut up about it last night. I'm pretty sure you did have fun." Fink said. He huffed, and she smiled.
Gar took out his keys, and started to unlock the store. Fink looked across the street, Boxmore had been pretty quiet recently. There hasn't been a single attack for a week. Rad and Enid enjoyed it, but it bugged Fink a bit.
She squinted, there was someone standing in front of it. "Carol..do you see that?" Fink asked and pointed. Carol looked at the person, and froze. It was Shadowy, and he was walking closer.
"Gene. You need to evacuate everyone." Carol said. "What?" "NOW!" They all jumped, Carol was suddenly so serious. Fink looked at Shadowy again, then she recognized him. "He's..back.."
Tko and Gar gave confused looks. "Who's back? Why do we need to evacuate?" Tko asked. Carol didn't answer, she was focused on Shadowy. A grin grew on Shadowy's face as he shot an attack towards them.
They all jumped out of the way as it hit the bodega. Everyone that was in the plaza started panicking, it was under attack. Carol knew that Shadowy's main target was Tko, he was trying to kill him.
"Gene, it's not safe. Evacuate everyone, hurry!" Carol said. He nodded, and started to evacuate. Carol was about to start running towards Shadowy, but then she looked at Tko and Fink. They both looked scared, so she hugged them.
"It's gonna be okay. I'm gonna take him out, alright?" Carol said. Fink nodded. "I'm gonna help." Tko said. They both looked at him, and Carol shook her head. "It's too dangerous, you have to go with Mr. Gar."
"NO! IF IT'S DANGEROUS FOR ME, THEN ITS DANGEROUS FOR YOU! I WANNA HELP!" Tko shouted. Gar was walking back to them, then Carol picked Tko and Fink up.
"Mom!?" Tko tried to squirm free. She handed them to Gar, and turned away. "I'll be back, I promise." She gave them a smile, and ran off. That message..it made it seem like she wasn't going to come back.
Shadowy saw Carol running towards him, and stopped blasting attacks. When she made it to him, the first thing she did was try to land a hit on him. He backed away, and she glared at him.
"Why are you attacking the plaza!?" Carol shouted. "I didn't mean to attack it, but I got the taste of destruction..I didn't want to hold back." Shadowy said.
"I won't let you touch him. Leave, or I'll destroy you." She demanded. "Oh..so you already know. For the past 5 months, I've been getting ready to do it. I was gonna take more glorbs, maybe kidnap your kids..but I wanted to make you think you were safe." Shadowy said.
Carol couldn't believe what she was hearing. This whole time..he was preparing. "My plan was to destroy something, make everyone panic. Tko would be confused, and you would be trying to calm everyone down. Those few seconds you set your attention away from him, was when I was going to strike. I guess that plan is ruined now." Shadowy sighed.
Carol started to throw more punches, but he grabbed her wrist and pushed her onto the ground. "Don't get in my way." He started to fly towards the plaza, but Carol grabbed him. "I WONT LET YOU!"
She pulled him back, and threw him into the wall. He growled, and shot blasts at her. She dodged most of them, then one sliced her cheek. Her eyes widened, this was the same attack from the dream.
"Are you trying to kill me? Once I'm down, you're gonna go after him?" Carol asked. "You figure things out quick." He appeared behind her, and she jumped away. She mimicked his attacks, and sent them back.
That caught him off guard, and he was hit by one. "Tell me, why are you trying to kill him!? He never did anything wrong!" Carol shouted. "He ruined everything. For years I was growing his power, and now he's weakening himself. I can't get him back either, he only believes you now. He's also all friendly with Ko..everything is ruined. The only option, is to get rid of him."
Carol narrowed her eyes. "What are you talking about..? In every story he's told me..he never talked about you. You never grew his power at all..so what are you.." She started putting all of this together, and Shadowy became angry.
"ARE YOU DENSE!? WHY HAS IT TAKEN YOU SO LONG TO REALIZE WHO I REALLY AM!?" He shouted. She understood, and stiffened. Shadowy charged up an attack, but she didn't notice. Something finally snapped her back into reality.
"MOM!" They both turned their heads, and saw Tko. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY MOM!?" Tko shouted. Shadowy grinned, and Carol panicked. "TKO! GET OUT OF HERE!" She screamed.
He raised an eyebrow, then Shadowy was gone. "Where did he.." He trailed off. Tko looked up, and saw Shadowy standing over him. His eyes widened, he couldn't move, he couldn't power up a fist. He was scared, he was going to die.
He shut his eyes, and smiled. His life was a living hell, he wanted to forget it all. Even though the last few months made it seem like everything was okay, it wasn't. The past still haunted him, and he hated it, he hated it so much.
Blood splattered onto the ground, and he opened his eyes. It was dripping from above him, and he looked up. Carol had a hole in her stomach, it was gushing blood. Her clothes became soaked in it, and she had tears in her eyes.
Tko started in horror as she fell over. She..protected him. "Mom..mom..MOM!" He ran over to her. She was moving, her breathing was slow. He started shaking her. "MOM! MOM!" Tears fell from his eyes.
Shadowy watched in silence. He didn't want this, but the result may have been better. As he began to walk away, Tko run towards him.
"GET BACK HERE! I WONT LET YOU LEAVE, I WONT LET YOU GET AWAY WITH THIS!" He shot several power fists at Shadowy, which made him stop. He turned around, and Tko grabbed onto his coat.
"WHY DID YOU DO THIS!? WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO TAKE HER AWAY!?" Tko punched Shadowy with a fist, and at the same time Shadowy threw him.
Tko fell to the ground. He sat up, and in his hands was the hood of Shadowy's coat. He looked at Shadowy, who was covering his face while hissing in pain. "You brat.." He removed his hand, and revealed himself. Tko froze, it was..
Venomous.
"You.." Tko couldn't speak. Shadowy saw the hood in his hands, and growled. He stared at Carol's immobile body, and chuckled. Then he disappeared. Carol..Tko forgot about Carol.
He ran back towards her. Her eyes were shut, and he got onto the ground. "Mom..it's gonna be okay..I'm..I'm gonna help..you.." He started at her wound, it was huge. He pressed Shadowy's hood onto it to try and stop the bleeding.
"This..this is how you do it..right.." He wanted her to respond, nothing. He began to sob, and pushed down harder. "Please mom..please don't die. Ko needs you..Fink needs you..Gar needs you..I..I NEED YOU!" He cried.
She still didn't respond, he couldn't tell if she was breathing or not. Her blood covered his hands, and his breathing became heavy. "Don't die..please. Get up Mom..Mom.." he started shaking her again.
No matter what he did, she didn't do anything. He didn't want her to die, she deserved to live. He felt as if he just ripped her life away from her, because he didn't listen. He started shaking violently, and screamed.
"MOM!"
"Thank you for helping me clear out the area." Gar said. Fink nodded, then looked around. "Hey..where did Tko go..?" She asked. "What do you mean..?" He began to look around as well.
"Do you think..he went to Carol..?" Fink asked. After that, they hard faint screaming coming from Boxmore. "That was Tko..!" Fink started running to Boxmore, and Gar followed.
"How do you know that was Tko?" He asked. "It sounds like him. We can't waste time, something might have happened." Fink said. "Do you think he got hurt..?" Gar asked. Fink shook her head. "That wasn't a scream of pain..something might have happened to Carol."
Fink didn't want to think like that, but the fighting stopped. They picked up their speed, they needed to get to them before it was too late.
Fink saw something in the distance, two people. "TKO!" She shouted. He was okay, she was relieved. Then she started getting closer, and stopped.
Tko was hugging Carol's body while sobbing. "I'm sorry..I'm sorry..I'm sorry.." He muttered. Fink got closer, and tears formed in her eyes. "No..no she.." She fell to her knees.
"She's not dead..she can't be..she's.." Gar pulled them both into a hug. "It'll be okay." He said softly.
