Batman

What would you do if the world ended?

Better question, what would you do if you were one of the few people left in a world that was dying? a world where the dead ruled

Four months ago the world was infected by the anti-life equation, it spread throughout the worlds internet and killed the majority of the population

Those that could escape the planet, I could have gone with them, but there were people alive, time travelers, that managed to survive the outbreak the first time, created a save haven and saved those they could

If there was a chance that the Earth could be saved, I couldn't leave the people that remained would need me.

The door to the citadel finally opened and I have to admit that seeing the ocean, and feeling the wind on my face was pleasant.

There's also something else, something I haven't told anyone.

There are other people, people that I warned, however, unless they managed to survive, there is no point in me telling anyone about them, but if they did I need to make contact with them as soon as possible.

I'm well aware that my warning was leaked and others managed to survive, but that's is just wishful thinking, I have to assume everyone is dead and we are the only ones that matter.

There are weapons, machines, and objects of power that need to be collected, things that are too dangerous to be left alone, if things go bad we can escape to the moon and rebuild there.

For better or worse the future had changed.

Jacob the man whose power kept the infected away had warned me that Superman had been infected the first time, and remained on Earth, Superman was no longer a threat, I made sure of that.

The island has managed to be kept under an uneasy peace, for a very simple reason, there were things needed to be done and people wanted\ needed to do anything to distract themselves from what was happening in the world.

The real test begins now if what PoisonIvy said is true, then we need to find the counties or whatever lands aren't infected and secure them, we are going to need farmland and places that we can keep whatever animal life remains safe.

"This is where things start to get bad" Jacob says next to me as he looks at the ocean.

"..." I didn't answer the man's statement

"They gave up attacking, either there are still people alive out there or"

"They're regrouping" Jim Gordon said as he took a cup of coffee handed to him by a little boy.

"The ocean is no good" Jacob says as he brought out a card and a wall that had the head of a woman showed the images of Atlantians waiting beneath the water.

"Looks like they're smarter than we thought" Jason Todd says as he stretches, he did not need to do it, but it felt good to do it when the wind blew.

No one said anything, no because the didn't have anything to say, but rather everyone agreed it was better to just enjoy the warmth of the sun, and the cool ocean breeze.

Jacob suddenly turned his head and several of his dragons flew in one direction, but they never attacked, instead, they allowed a large shipping container to land near the tower.

Soldiers, and had their guns aimed at the doors of the container, but no one bothered to shoot as power girl had her hands raised and lowly opened the doors of the container.

Slowly people began to walk out, they were filthy and half-starved, all of them, including Power Girl, looked like they were about to go insane.

"Give them food and after they shower isolate them" Deathstroke ordered, he didn't bother saying anything to Power Girl he just walked passed her.

"Guess that settles it, we aren't alone" Kimberly says with an oddly cheerful voice.

"No, we are "Jason Tod says to her, his eyes hardening as he looks at the people walking out of the container.

"We're back to tribes. This is our tribe, and everyone else out there that's their tribe"

"Like it or not, we're back to, us and them mentality, so unless they agree not to cause problems or obey us, the zombies aren't going to be the only thing we have to worry about" Jacob says to Kimberly.

I watch several girls no older than thirteen carrying baskets walk up to us and immediately hand each of us different radios, keeping in touch with one another is going to be vital for our survival, but we still haven't discussed what we are going to do from now on.

"This is Deathstroke, doing a maintenance check, anyone whose radio doesn't work head to the tower so we can fix it" Deathstroke says through the radio, there isn't any way, anyone can be alone right now, so anyone whose radio doesn't work is bound to hear his announcement.

I listen as everyone says clear until I feel its time we meet in the tower, we can't stay on the island forever and unless we manage to get to the ships before they are infected or destroyed leaving earth will be impossible.

"Everyone meet me inside the tower, so we can discuss our next step" I say threw the radio, however as I walk back inside I notice that Jacob isn't following the rest of us.

I can't force him to come with us, so I leave him behind, however, he isn't alone, Kimberly hasn't moved either, they're both just looking at the ocean.
