The Bath
. . .
"Laxus yes!" she exclaimed as her channel rippled and warmth flooded through her body. She could feel her release dripping down her thighs and Laxus responded, wrapping a hand around her neck for added leverage as he pushed himself into her even harder.
"Fuck yes, baby. Your cunt feels so good," he grunted before she felt his cock pulse its release inside of her.
. . .
Laxus slipped his cock out of her as he tried to catch his breath. "Fuck you were amazing," Lucy let slip from her lips as their combined arousal dripped from her junction and onto the floor. She placed her feet on the cold tile and leaned against the counter for support.
Laxus looked up at the woman and couldn't help the smile that crept up on his face. It felt extremely odd to be smiling but he found himself doing it a lot more when he was in her presence.
Laxus wasn't quite sure what to say in this moment. Normally after a one-night stand he didn't have to say much of anything, both parties knowing that nothing was meant to last. But as blood returned to his brain, he realized that he wanted so much more from Lucy than just this one night.
Instead of messing things up with words, he opted to lean in and capture her lips, gently. Lucy gasped in surprise before the noise turned into a soft moan as his hand played with her breast gently. "Come on," he said softly. "I've got something upstairs I think you're going to love."
Lucy looked at him sideways and gave him a bit of a smile. "Are you propositioning me a second time this evening, Mr. Dreyar?"
Laxus smirked and leaned down to hoist the woman over his shoulder. She gasped as he lifted her up. "No arguing," he said before slapping her ass playfully as he began walking her up the stairs. Lucy giggled but allowed him to have his way.
When he finally put her down, Lucy looked around to find herself in a beautiful bathroom. The tile was clearly made of a white marble with grey veining and a glass shower stood next to an inset jetted tub in the corner of the room. Laxus gave her a knowing look and she smiled at him. "Told you you would like it," he said as he moved to turn the water on.
He moved back to her as he waited for the water to turn on and she allowed herself to be pulled into his embrace. He pressed his lips to hers once more and she moved her own against his as their naked bodies pressed into one another. Lucy could feel herself getting aroused all over again, despite her body being utterly spent.
"Fuck you really know how to turn a girl on," she said and Laxus couldn't help but smile.
"The feeling is mutual, Ms. Heartfilia," he responded before grabbing her ass cheeks, one in each hand. She gasped and he chuckled before untangling himself to go turn off the water and turn on the jets. "Come on," he said, holding a hand out.
Lucy took it and stepped in the water gingerly. It was the perfect temperature and she entered the Jacuzzi with a sigh on her lips. Laxus followed her, sitting opposite her as their legs tangled against one another.
Lucy looked at the man across from her as he laid his head back against the cushion. The silence between them wasn't uncomfortable, as she feared it might have been. Instead, she felt completely relaxed and at peace with her decision towards her former and future employer.
"So I guess you'll be staying in the City for a while then?" Lucy asked, finally breaking the silence.
Laxus lifted his head to look at her. He considered her question and its motives. "Perhaps. I've got a board meeting I have to attend tomorrow," he informed her.
"Is there anything I can do to help you prepare?" Lucy asked, unconsciously going into work mode.
Laxus narrowed his eyes at her and gave her a sly smile. "Tisk, tisk, Lucy. You're no longer in my employ as of now."
Lucy blushed. "Oh that's right," she replied.
"Come here," Laxus said, gesturing at the woman to move between his legs. Lucy complied as the water shifted slightly in the tub. She sighed as she leaned back into his embrace. She tried to keep thoughts like how long this might last out of her head.
"I know you have an analytical mind, Lucy. But try to stop thinking and worrying so much," he said as he began to rub her shoulders gently.
Lucy rested her head against his chest and heaved a heavy sigh. "I know you're right. But that is strange advice coming from you," she said with a bit of a giggle.
"How so?"
Lucy shrugged her shoulders. "Every time I've seen you, you've been brooding over something."
"Not true," Laxus replied. "That's just my go-to scowl."
"Oh is that what that is?" Lucy said with a laugh and Laxus nodded. She turned around to face him, bringing her hand up to brush against his face. "Well, I have to admit that I really like it."
"Oh yeah?" Laxus said with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah," Lucy said before he pulled her in for another deep kiss.
. . .
A knock at the door sounded in her apartment and she got up from her spot on the couch. "This better be him," she said hotly as she made her way to the door. She looked through the peephole to see Bicsklow on the other side.
"It's me, open up," he said through the door.
"About fucking time," she said as she swung the door open before closing it swiftly behind him. The man winced at the sound and turned around to look at the agitated woman.
"How about, 'thank you for going into the office at midnight to find me some fucking random emails, Bickslow?' or 'you're so amazing Bickslow?' A little gratitude would be nice Candy," he said to his childhood friend.
"Whatever," she said with a roll of her eyes. "Did you get it?"
"Here," he said, handing her a few pieces of paper. Cana grabbed at the pieces of paper and started to skim each one. "I'm not sure where this really gets you though," Bickslow said with a sigh, feeling worse and worse about this entire situation.
Cana smiled as she read through the old emails. "Don't worry about it. The less you know, the better."
"I thought we were doing this for the good of our friend?" Bickslow asked.
"Oh, right. We are! I'm really worried about Laxus and this will help set everything right," she said, clearly lying.
Bickslow rolled his eyes. "Fine. That's good enough for me I guess." He stood there, looking at his childhood crush and wondering whether he really should cut ties with her.
"Were you waiting for something?" she asked, looking annoyed.
He shook his head and made his way to the door. "Nothing you could help me with," he said as he left her apartment.
. . .
Lucy exited the tub with a relaxed sigh and wrapped a towel around herself. Laxus followed and handed her a white bathrobe that she proceeded to change into, as did he. As soon as she was once again fully clothed and the pair exited the bathroom, Laxus stopped her in the hallway with an abrupt, "Ms. Heartfilia."
She turned to look at him with a furrowed brow. "I'd like to take this opportunity to offer you a position at my Estate. Your formal title will be Property Manager and it comes with lodging as well as a generous stipend."
Her lips curved into a small smile at the formality of it all. But she supposed after their first time, it was warranted. "I appreciate the opportunity, Mr. Dreyar. And am very happy to accept."
"Wonderful. There is a slight change of plans for tomorrow, however," Laxus continued, catching Lucy off guard. "I'll be staying in the City for a few days and I would like you to accompany me to the office tomorrow morning. I have a board meeting I need to attend and could use your support."
Lucy nodded her head. "Absolutely."
"If there's nothing else, your quarters are just through this door," Laxus said, opening the door to their right to reveal a well-appointed bedroom. "If there's anything you need, please let me know."
Lucy walked through and nodded. "Thank you."
"Well, good night then, Ms. Heartfilia," Laxus said.
"Good night, Mr. Dreyar," Lucy responded as he closed her into the room.
She waited for his footsteps to disappear before she plopped herself onto the oversized bed. She looked up at the stainless steel ceiling fan and could see a hazy image of herself sprawled out. She scrunched her face up and shook her head from side to side. She should have guessed that Laxus wasn't going to invite her to his own bed. The man was entirely distant on his best days and sleeping next to someone was so intimate. But at the same time, she couldn't help but feel the bit of disappointment that was welling up in her heart.
She bit her tongue and internally chided herself. "You will not get attached to this man. You will not fall in love with this man,"she instructed herself. "He is far too damaged to be put back together and you're in no state to do it, even if it could be done. He's an extremely good fuck and that's it. Enjoy it while it lasts."
Logically she knew this to be true. Laxus had a lot of baggage. His admissions about Cana this evening made that entirely clear. And it was one thing to have an ex-wife. It was an entirely different thing to have an ex-wife like Cana. Lucy shuddered at the thought of the woman and her encounter with her that afternoon. It still left her a bit shaky.
Whatever had transpired between her and Laxus was none of Lucy's business and she would do her best to stay out of it. Of course she wasn't going to let the woman enter the Estate without his permission, but beyond that, she certainly did not want to become this woman's target.
Lucy rolled over and flipped on the little nightstand light before walking to the windows. The City sprawled out beneath her and she considered her position. When she was here before, she always felt like she was in the thick of it, down on the streets trying to fight her way through things. She could see how people like Laxus, with so much money, could still like the City. They didn't have to take the subway to get around, they just called cars that picked them up and dropped them off at each destination. They had enough capital to simply rise above it all and look down on everyone from their little perch.
She shook her head and reminded herself that this was not her life. She was only a guest looking in and she shouldn't get used to it. She didn't belong way up here on whatever floor this was next to the clouds. Her and Laxus were a world apart, even if for the time being, they were somehow meeting in the middle.
Climbing into bed, she repeated her mantra to herself as she tried to fall asleep. "He's an extremely good fuck and that's it. Enjoy it while it lasts."
. . .
"Good night, Mr. Dreyar," the woman said as he closed the door behind him. Laxus walked himself over to his own bedroom and sat down heavily on the edge of the bed. He looked out at the City lights, the red glare from the traffic finally easing and he rubbed his temples.
This evening had happened so fast and things were starting to feel entirely out of control to him. He'd realized in the tub that he couldn't invite Lucy into his bed that evening. His control slipped too much around this woman and despite their newfound arrangement, he needed to be careful about maintaining his distance. He traced the scar along the edge of his eye with his finger, a constant reminder. He'd allowed himself to give up control once before and it had almost gotten him killed.
His heart was a traitor to his better instincts though. It tried to argue with him that Lucy was nothing like Cana and that deep down he'd known Cana wouldn't stay faithful to him and that's why he'd tried to fulfill her every desire, in the hopes that he could somehow buy her fidelity. He shook his head. Looking back on that time in his life, he still couldn't fully process just how foolish he'd been.
But Lucy was different. She'd left a well paying job that could have elevated her status for what? Some gig as a property manager in the middle of nowhere? It was reckless but he also had a lot of respect for her. Unlike so many others, she didn't let fear control her decisions.
And that much was true tonight as well. Laxus knew it was wrong to have kissed her, but he just couldn't help himself. And when he'd propositioned her with his loophole, she should have run straight out the door for fear of losing her job. But instead, she trusted him, took him at his word that their professional relationship wouldn't change and had allowed herself to give into something that she clearly wanted.
His head was swimming with all of these thoughts and he couldn't make sense of how he felt. Maybe he shouldn't have asked her to come to the office with him tomorrow, but he was committed now. Besides that, he didn't want her to leave him here in the City alone. Ever since he'd gotten out of the hospital, he'd been alone. Whether it was at the Estate or at his City penthouse, it didn't matter. That is, until Lucy showed up.
He growled at himself. Thoughts like these weren't helping anything. He needed rest. After a good night sleep, things would make more sense. He would be back in control.
