Oh boy, I'm so sorry for the long delay, but I do hope this double upload of chapters will make up for it with some (preferably) delicious content in each. For you Kayn x Akali lovers, you're gonna love the next one ;)

Evelynn expected the worst when she approached the K/DA's household. Culda being there from what happened earlier presumably meant bad news for the diva. She wasn't foreign to Culda being ticked with her, but the woman was suspicious of her relationship with James now and that gave the woman anxiety.

When she entered, Culda's voice was heard unsurprisingly, but it wasn't shouting either. Evelynn walked to the living room, seeing Culda talking to Ahri with both women standing up. Kai'sa observed on a couch with Akali nowhere to be seen.

"I don't understand what's so difficult Ahri!" Culda said. "You just told me you think it's a good idea. So why are you still arguing with me?"

"Because it's not-!" Ahri stopped suddenly. She picked up a new presence, seeing Evelynn observing her and Culda. The manager followed her stare and narrowed her eyes at the diva.

"Because it's not what?" Culda questioned, crossing her arms.

Ahri pinched her nose with a sigh. The reason why she was protesting would be laughable in Culda's eyes, and to herself it kinda was.

"Look… Akali's been-"

"Oh for the love of…" Culda cut her off right there, her digits on her temple to signify her frustration. She forced out a laugh afterward and Ahri felt a lecture coming, but Evelynn stepped in.

"I'm so sorry to intrude darlings, but what on earth are you two bickering about?" Evelynn asked, her distance closer than expected. Culda inched herself back a little. "I suppose it's not entirely important given that you didn't call Akali down."

Culda sighed and slumped her shoulders. "What's happening is I'm trying to convince Ahri to get back into the mainstream media. Pentakill's currently on a tour and Sarah told me they planned to stop by the studio tonight, have a party and whatnot." Culda explained. "She directly told me they'd love to see you guys again, especially Karthus."

This was one of the rare times Evelynn had to side with Culda. She loved Pentakill's music and Karthus was an inspiration to her. Evelynn understood Ahri's hesitance, but she seemed to be basing it off Akali.

"Well Culda, that sounds like a rather lovely idea!" Evelynn exclaimed. "Can't believe I just said that."

Culda ignored Evelynn's mockery. "You're welcome. It's also to make people forget about your debacle in the mall earlier with those two kids. Maybe people will stop thinking this band's really falling apart when they see you dancing half-naked and drunk, I should add."

Evelynn rose a brow, slanting her eyes at the emerald eyed woman. Culda stared back.

"What do you mean by that?" Evelynn asked.

Culda shrugged her shoulders. "It shouldn't mean anything to you Evelynn. You're notorious for being hated and loved at the same time no? I'd have imagined you'd be more up to date with these things as well."

Evelynn's heart started to increase its beat. The diva felt nothing but ill tension toward Culda who likely felt the same way. Ahri and Kai'sa had been observing the two of them cautiously. There was resentment, but over what remained a mystery.

"Hey, listen, why don't I go ask Akali if she's interested in coming to the party?" Kai'sa suggested standing up. "If she doesn't, I'm sure they won't mind if it's just the three of us."

"No." Culda spoke. "They've heard of her being the new addition and would like to meet her. A no-show isn't optional."

Kai'sa sighed. She understood Culda's reasoning and knew Akali needed this experience. Maybe she wasn't sure the rapper was up for abrupt parties. Kai'sa herself needed some time to adjust to that believe it or not.

"I'll go ask her." Kai'sa said leaving the room.

Culda and Evelynn kept up their stare-down. Ahri began to feel uncomfortable, wanting to speak up, but knowing it would probably make things worse.

Thankfully, the silence was broken when Culda's phone rang. The woman blinked to look at it, and with a sigh she took it out of her pocket. She looked at Evelynn once more before directing her eyes elsewhere.

"Hello?" Culda asked. "Hi Sarah. Yes, yes I'm doing it right now." She spoke. "No there's no trouble, they'll be there! Why do I sound stressed? Look, I'm sorry I can't be cheerful and perky 24/7 like you. Maybe I should take what you're taking."

Evelynn peered at Ahri, the blonde looking at Evelynn with confusion. The diva smiled at her, trying to lighten the blonde's mood with Culda's chat with Miss Fortune. Ahri's lips twitched but that was it.

"What do you mean their bartenders gone?!" Culda asked loudly. She looked up as Sarah kept speaking. "How the hell would I know where he is?! What's his name, Maddoc or something? He's in a relationship with Riven? Look, Caitlyn's the one in charge of security, call her instead of me! What do you mean she's not answering?!" The manager demanded. "Alright I'll look around for him. Goddammit." She seethed.

The manager inhaled sharply, her thumb and index finger across her forehead as she tried to keep her cool.

"Perhaps a party isn't the best thing to attend Culda darling." Evelynn teased. This earnt a deathly glare from the woman. "If the media's there, you'll be the only confirmation they need to say the K/DA's falling apart."

"Evelynn." Ahri scolded, glaring daggers at the diva.

Culda's mouth firmly stayed shut. Her hands were shaking, but she kept it down.

"Where the hell's Riven?" Culda asked. "It seems like she's stolen Pentakill's personal bartender."

Ahri had no idea. Evelynn knew where Riven was, having heard her and Maddoc getting frisky shortly before she left the guards quarters. The diva could've told Culda there, but she feared it'd raise suspicions.

The backdoor opened again, the three women hearing a man's whistle and Evelynn was the first to see James enter the living room, fresh and clean from his shower. She lost her train of thought for a moment.

"Holland!" Culda's voice sounded, marching to the man swiftly. "Where the hell's Riven?"

James backed a little from the woman. "Uh, why do you want to know?"

"I don't have time for 20 goddamn questions Holland!" Culda snapped. "Do you know where she is?"

He didn't think about hesitating. "She's down at the quarters. I heard her enter with some guy. Maddoc I think it was."

Culda breathed a sigh of relief, her eyes closed while doing so. "Finally something works out." Culda moved passed James, going out the door.

James watched the fuming woman leave, looking qualm. He turned to Evelynn and Ahri again. "What's with her?"

"Oh just having one of her regular tantrums." Evelynn commented. "She's about to have a meltdown over everything not being pure perfection for tonight's party with Pentakill."

James's eyes widened after those words. "Wait, wait… Pentakill? A party with Pentakill?"

"Yes sweetie." Evelynn answered, grinning slowly. "Why? Are you going to have a fangirl attack?"

James kept his excitement down. "Sorry, I keep forgetting that I should be expecting these kinds of things."

Evelynn giggled. Ahri was still curious about her and Culda's exchange. However, before the blonde could ask, a squeal of unbridled excitement and rapid footsteps was heard. The sound was recognized as Akali's unsurprisingly, and Kai'sa's giddy laugh could be heard as she tried to calm Akali down as well.

"YES! YES! ABSOLUTELY YES! OH MY GOD I'M SO EXCITED!" Akali said.

The rapper was seen swiftly running into the living room, managing to skid to a stop afront Ahri and Evelynn. She had on a very mirthful look, and she glanced over to the third person.

Akali's smile slowly went away, guilt and remorse taking over her expression as her tummy wrenched slightly. How she'd snapped at James earlier when he was just trying to look out for her. Ahri and Evelynn glanced between the two of them, detecting something as well. Kai'sa walked beside Akali with a satisfied grin.

"I take it you all know Akali's in?" She asked.

Evelynn huskily chuckled. "We certainly do Bokkie. She looks like a child on Christmas morning."

Akali's face burned. She had to work on being less of a baby and more of an adult. James put aside their past argument.

"Well it is hard to blame her." He commented, stepping beside Akali who peeked right to him. "A party with Pentakill? Who wouldn't be excited about that?"

Akali smiled at first… but she began to feel a bit self-centered. She lost her smile, not wanting to be treated like a baby with her "brother" doing it. Akali saw his arm go for her shoulder, but Akali shook it off and distanced herself from James who immensely looked offended. The girls could pick it up too with Kai'sa giving Akali an astonished stare. Evelynn's brow rose as Ahri swiveled between her and James.

"Well, guess she doesn't feel the same way." James commented, a futile shrug.

"Holland…?" Kai'sa asked grasping his arm. "Are you and Akali… okay?"

James sighed. "Well… I found out she's dating someone." He confessed. "And before you say it, no I'm not jealous."

"Well of course you're not!" Kai'sa said merrily trying to lighten him up. "You're just looking out for her."

"Yeah I know… wish she'd see it that way though. I haven't even met him."

Kai'sa mouthed "oh" and took a sharp inhale. "Well I guess Vi was excited to see them get together."

"Yeah, yeah she told me." James laughed. He then sighed solemnly.

Kai'sa lips curved in thought. The dancer got closer to James. "I'll talk to her for you. Maybe she'll listen to me."

James shrugged. Kai'sa followed where Akali had gone, Ahri exhaling as she felt the awkwardness increase. "Well… I'm going to shoot Sona a few texts. Ask if she's going to be the DJ at the party or something."

"You do that darling." Evelynn replied, not taking her eyes off James who looked stressed. The diva's lower lip rolled, a frown as she took a heeled step toward her bodyguard. The action caused her to feel warm now given that the two felt something for each other. She exhaled almost breathily. "Honey… you look in distress."

"I know you heard everything I said." James replied. This earned a snicker from the diva.

"That I did darling, that I did." Evelynn said. The diva got closer to James, the man's eyes following her movements lazily. "And honestly, it's making me feel distressed as well. I can't stand seeing my lover troubled."

That sent a pang form his throat to his stomach. James's eyes widened, his hands instinctively going to Evelynn's sides as she clasped her arms around his nape. James gulped before speaking.

"What're you doing?" He asked calmly.

"What's it look like?" She replied grinning.

He chuckled forcibly. "Evelynn… they're close by. This isn't a good idea…"

"But it's distracting you, no?" She cooed. "My body against yours… my ample bosom against your chest as I kiss you?"

"Wha-?"

Welcoming lips claimed his as Evelynn kissed him. Evelynn pressed herself against James, soon quietly moaning with want and desire. James had no shred of resistance, kissing her back as their mouths made love. Evelynn meekly whimpered, and James groaned with the same volume.

They ended the make-out there, Evelynn smiling warmly as James forced one out.

"There, all better?" She asked innocently.

"Is that a rhetorical question?"

The diva flashed her eyes with a compressed smile this time. She kissed him again, sweeter this time. She felt like that was enough for James.

"Evelynn, thanks." He said sincerely. It made Evelynn's cheeks color.

"Now then darling, if you'll excuse me, I need to pick out an outfit for the party tonight." She said with a high tone. Evelynn left her bodyguard, not looking back as James clicked his tongue. When she was out of sight, James exhaled, closing his eyes to mentally prepare for some mirage of Leblanc. They'd been happening as of late.

Nothing occurred.

He was relieved.

"Hey!" Kai'sa said catching Akali's attention when the rapper sulked her head down in refusal. "You know it's just because he cares right? You said he's like your brother."

Akali groaned, her stubborn rebelliousness speaking for her. "Yeah well, you wouldn't be able to differentiate between being caring and nosy. You'd know him to be more caring than I would."

Kai'sa blinked, her eyes narrowing as her lower lip frowned in slight offence. The dancer moved her pelvis back a bit, hands on her hips to give a questioning stance. Akali could feel Kai'sa's gaze burn through her attitude, and the rapper sighed.

"That was a shitty thing to say." She bitterly said. Hearing Kai'sa's voice with that tone made the girl shrink.

"I know… I know…" Akali sighed.

Kai'sa put her hand on Akali's shoulder. "Listen, forgive me if I'm being too nosy, but… did something happen between you two? Before coming here?" She asked. Akali's eyes darted up, intrusion in them. Kai'sa backed off a little. "Sorry, but you two seem to have drifted apart since you moved in compared to when we first met you two."

"It's fine Kai'sa." Akali replied. "To answer your question; yes, something did happen."

The dancer nodded. "You wanna talk about it?"

Akali's stomach was hurting. She and James had argued before about them possibly drifting apart, not communicating as much. He said it wouldn't happen because he said so… but now Akali was fearing such a thing was indeed happening.

And the worst part is she didn't have the energy to stop it.

"You may or may not find this bizarre, but I had feelings for James. I had them for a long time." Akali confessed. Kai'sa's thin brows rose lightly. She kept listening. "The night before we moved here… I told him about them… that I needed someone more than a brother to be by my side…"

Kai'sa drew in a breath. She bit her bottom lip, contrite for asking her this. The dancer patted her shoulder a few times but had to say something.

"And obviously… he refused them?"

Akali uttered a sad scoff. "Good work detective."

She ignored the sarcastic remark. "And now with you seeing Kayn… you feel like he's trying to close the door for that someone she can have by her side? Not just her brother?"

The rapper kept it honest and serious. "I know he's not trying to do that… but sometimes I think he forgets that he can't fill every void when it comes to my needs. He could try to back off a little bit, you know?"

Kai'sa's face wrinkled with a sound that screeched this wasn't her department to give an answer. "It sounds like you're also trying to get back at him out of spite Akali. I don't know, maybe it's just me."

"Well I can assure you I'm not." Akali said defensively.

The woman's pupils shifted to the rapper's change of voice. "Did you also ever think that maybe, just maybe, he's concerned not so much about you seeing a guy… but more-so his parents?" Kai'sa asked.

Akali's right brow elevated. "Parents? What?"

"Well Kayn's adopted as I'm-"

"Yes I know he's adopted. His parents are, um… Zed and Syndra?" Akali asked. Kai'sa nodded. "How would James know them?"

"I'm not saying he does for sure; I'm just hypothesizing." Kai'sa claimed. "I had a brief encounter with Syndra once… and she wasn't exactly the most understanding person Akali."

She did a shrug. "I know, Kayn, and Shen, told me she's a handful."

"So did you ever think James is more concerned about what Syndra will do?" Kai'sa asked. "As I said before, he's just looking out for you Akali."

"But how would he know them-"

"You get what I'm saying right?" Kai'sa asked, exasperated now. Akali nodded. "Okay, then let's just leave it at that." She finished, sitting down in a chair with a breathy sigh. "I just hate seeing you two this way compared to day one. Holland's a good guy Akali, he cares."

Akali sighed resoundingly. She didn't want to talk about this anymore, and neither did Kai'sa thankfully. The rapper's inner feeling didn't improve from this conversation, it just became worse.

"…"

"…"

In silence equivalent to a jewelry thief, James was against the wall next to where Kai'sa and Akali were. He'd heard everything… and he could feel a glisten in his eyes, but nothing came out.

Was he really acting that way to Akali?

His thinking was interrupted when he heard the backdoor burst open again Culda holding Riven by the ear with the female bodyguard protesting in a strained voice.

"Okay lady, I get it! Just let me go!" She spat.

"No." Culda replied. "I let you go, and your horny ass will be sprinting right back to that dog."

Riven growled. "That dog is my boyfriend!"

"I don't care." Culda snapped. She marched in, soon seeing James who chose not to interfere. That didn't stop Culda from glaring.

"You! Holland!" She barked like a sergeant. "Get in the kitchen! I need all the bodyguards present to inform them-"

"Of the party?" James asked bluntly. "I already know."

"Well now you get to hear it again!" Culda exclaimed, taking his ear abruptly with James groaning vocally. He didn't fight it though, knowing it'd be pointless. Culda brought them back in, not letting go as Riven started to strain. They reached the kitchen where Ahri was, looking at her phone as Culda shouted for the other singers' presence. Riven shot a deathly stare at Culda while James chose to take a seat.

"Where the hell is everyone?!" Culda yelled. "I don't want to have to repeat myself!"

"Calm down Culda." Kai'sa's voice sounded. "We're coming."

The woman didn't reply, seeing Akali and Kai'sa enter the room, Akali noticing James and expecting him to look at her. The rapper didn't dwell when he didn't look back, taking a seat as a clack of heels was heard, Culda swiveling around to see Evelynn approaching the kitchen. The manager's eyes were wide momentarily.

"Must be a full moon; everybody actually showed up!" She sarcastically exclaimed.

"We're still missing Shen and Vi." Riven commented. "Why don't you go find them and pull them here as well?"

Culda didn't reply to the sarcastic question. A nearby voice was heard, amusement accompanying it as Culda and Akali looked to another doorway of the kitchen to see Shen walking in on his phone.

"…Yes, that's it Kayn. Yes, I'm sure Akali will be there." He chuckled. "Alright I'll see you later."

The mention of Kayn caught Akali's attention, Shen seeing everyone's eyes on him as he felt mild discomfort. "Sorry, bad time?"

"No Shen, your timing couldn't be more perfect." Culda dismissed. "Speaking of that, have you seen Vi and Caitlyn around?"

"Vi's usually easier to keep track of than Caitlyn." Shen answered. "But no, I haven't seen them."

Culda sighed. She'd take what she could get.

"Take a seat." She said to Shen who did beside Akali. The rapper's attention had been on Shen the whole time. Akali bumped Shen lightly after he didn't hear her whispering. The man turned to the girl without a question.

"Who was that you were on the phone with?" She asked, Shen picking up some hopefulness in her words. It made him smirk and chuckle.

"It was Kayn if that's the only reason you're asking Akali." He answered, Akali's face coloring as she felt embarrassed with Shen knowing why. The man gave her shoulder a pat. "He'll be bartending at the party tonight… if you're interested in attending that is."

Akali knew Shen was getting a harmless kick out of this. She pouted but smiled inwardly.

James had been listening to Culda explaining what would be happening at the party, but he picked up the small talk between Shen and Akali. The rapper noticed his glance aimed her way… and Akali softly glowered at him.

"Hello?!" Culda's voice asked abruptly. She slammed both her hands on the kitchen's island. "Are any of you even listening to me?!"

Everyone flinched, showing that they weren't really interested in what Culda was saying. The manager sharply inhaled, keeping her temper down.

"Sorry, wanna run that by us again?" Riven asked sarcastically.

Culda narrowed her eyes, Riven instantly feeling regret from that sarcastic question. Culda still kept her cool.

"Okay, bottom line is there's a party at the studio tonight, the bodyguards will NOT be drinking, and all of you will avoid causing a scene, understood?" She asked.

James and Shen nodded in regard to the bodyguards' duty while Riven seemed severely disappointed at not being able to drink. The singers nodded with Evelynn giving Culda a suspicious look.

"Okay then, glad you all understand." Culda said in a dismissive manner. "Now I just need to find out where the hell Caitlyn is."

Everyone, save for Evelynn, left the kitchen after that. James gave a glance to Akali who didn't look back and he got up from his chair. Ahri said she had to do some more texting with Sona while Kai'sa insisted she had to pick out the right outfit for tonight. Shen said he'd look into finding Caitlyn and Vi if he could with Riven coming along to blow off some steam from Culda's words.

With her bandmates no longer in the kitchen, Evelynn hastily approached Culda who hadn't been expecting that. The manager's brows glowered while she backed up a little.

"The hell you doing?" She asked. Evelynn's hands set themselves on her hips, the diva striking a pose of questioning and accusation. Culda gave her a once-over, asking the question again. "What?"

"Culda darling… when I heard you tell us not to cause a scene… I can't help but feel that was directed at me." She snapped at the end. "Is there something wrong? And don't say it's about the mall."

Culda huffed. She didn't think Evelynn would've picked up that passive aggressiveness. Then again, their stare-off before should've been an obvious clue.

"Well Evelynn, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but it just so happens that this is about the mall." Culda stated. She took out her phone as Evelynn scoffed.

"It was two kids who needed to get outside more." She countered. "I see nothing wrong with self-defense."

The woman chuckled sarcastically. "See, you think you've got it down, but you seem to forget what interpretation is."

Evelynn's brow rose. "Oh? Are you implying that what James did to protect me, and what I did to protect him was assault? Who's going to believe that?"

"You'd be amazed Evelynn." Culda said monotonously. "Have you forgotten how K-pop fans can be? How your Diva fanbase can behave?"

Amber eyes narrowed at the raven-haired woman. Culda cleared her throat as she looked at her phone.

"omfg wtf is this shit?! whys my idol attacking those who want what's best for her?!"

The diva's eyes enlarged a little bit when Culda said those words. The manager glanced at her with a berating look for a second before reading another.

"who the hell is this prick with my wife Evelynn?! why does she have this man with her?! she's not even straight! SHES GAY WITH AHRI!"

Evelynn wasn't sure if she should be disturbed or amused. Culda read another one.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE MY QUEEN IS ATTACKING HER OWN SERVANTS! I LOVED EVELYNN BUT NOW SHES DEAD TO ME. THE KDA IS FINISHED. IM GOING TO NEED THERAPY FOR YEARS NOW! #kdaisoverparty #evelynnhatesherfans"

Having heard enough, Evelynn approached Culda who gleamed at her. The diva crossed her arms. "What the hell are you reading?"

"Just a small portion of fans who didn't take your little scene at the mall very well." Culda answered. "Which reminds me, this is my personal favorite."

The manager showed Evelynn a video she'd pulled up, the diva seeing that it was a recording of her and James at the mall where the incident happened. She wasn't surprised that they'd been filmed. The video played out normally until Evelynn saw the fan charge James. A splatter sound effect happened, some poorly edited blood coating the screen after James had been hit. Evelynn's facial features twitched with disgust and disturbance. She noticed the title of the view read "Fixed it" with #queenevelynnissolo

The hashtags didn't specify, but Evelynn knew what the video was implying. Culda brought back her phone, looking at the video with a little chuckle. "It's amazing how quickly people edit videos that have only been out for a few hours." She snickered. "And also sickening."

Evelynn felt a little wound up from that video. She addressed Culda after the woman put her phone away.

"So… what's the reason for showing me that?" She asked. Evelynn knew but she wanted to hear Culda said it.

The woman turned to her. "The reason is simple; you choose to do a publicity stunt that your fans don't like, and they'll be in an uproar. So, you simply don't do that anymore." She seethed.

Evelynn glared at Culda, stepping closer. "Implying I had a choice? That it was a publicity stunt?"

"Let me keep it simple; A headline reads two merely wanted an autograph from the K/DA'S diva Evelynn. Her bodyguard holds them back and she attacks them anyway." Culda explained. "See the picture? That's cancel culture 101."

Evelynn rolled her eyes at the obtuse example. "That's not what happened-"

"Nobody cares how it happened Evelynn!" Culda loudly interrupted. "The point is that the mainstream and social media always, always twist the words and scenarios of public occurrences. Have you forgotten about that old boyfriend of yours? What was his name… Tobias something?"

Evelynn sighed. "Tobias Fate, yes."

Culda did a short chuckle with a knowing smile. "Good, then you probably remember just how insane your fans went when they found out you and he were a thing. That convention at the mall?" She sneered.

The diva inhaled deeply, closing her eyes. "Yes, but that wasn't a publicity stun-"

"Don't wanna hear it." Culda snapped. The manager crossed her arms, looking away in thought. "I told you not to let your feelings for him get in the way. It seems like since you wanted Holland to be hired… things have gone sideways."

Evelynn's felt irritation build when Culda mentioned James being hired. "What're you getting at?"

"What I'm saying is hiring Holland might've been the most generous… and idiotic thing you've ever done Evelynn." Culda scolded. "You forget that I'm your manager, and everything that happens in public always reaches me eventually. In times like this, it's unwise for me to be stressed. Perhaps once I find Caitlyn, I'll tell her to terminate his contract."

The diva had been unaware of how tensely she'd been balling her hands. Her digits created red circles in her palm, and when the diva heard those words of James being fired leave that wretched woman's mouth, Evelynn's eyes flashed.

Culda's eyes widened abruptly as her lips fearfully frowned. Evelynn marched toward the woman, Culda's instinctively backing up with her quickly solidifying against the wall. Her heart was racing anxiously, and Evelynn closed the distance with their nose's inches apart. The manager could feel the diva's exhales against her.

"If you fire him, then you can kiss your contract with the K/DA goodbye." She snarled. "And I'll make sure you never, ever, ever get any work again."

The managers tough façade was gone in this situation. Culda couldn't even look at Evelynn, shuddering as she looked away in fear. Evelynn's warm aura was felt lesser and lesser moments later. Culda finally mustered the courage to look, seeing that Evelynn was no longer there. The woman's heart slowed down over time as Culda slumped against the wall, calming herself.

James had been itching to find Akali since there was no chance of him getting a window to rest. The man wanted to apologize greatly for how he'd been behaving toward her. Akali had every right to be defensive against James's disapproval for her seeing someone. She was a smart girl. She knew the risks. Despite what he'd heard her say with Kai'sa, James knew he was mostly to blame.

He'd been looking for her since the meeting in the kitchen, hoping to apologize. The man walked up the stairs, feeling like she'd be in her bedroom. To his delight she was, but she was also talking to someone on her phone. James chose to wait, his desire to apologize still present.

"So you're gonna be there?" Akali asked. "Wait… you're not going to be bartending? Shen said you would be!"

James didn't have to figure out who it was she was speaking to. He knew it was Kayn from her excitement.

"Yes I'm happy!" Akali's voice squealed. "It'll be so good to see you again!" She then giggled. "Of course I'm still down for Saturday! This is like a bonus date!"

James felt his energy of telling her his remorse shrink. He knew mentally that he shouldn't be reacting entirely this way. He'd declined Akali's feelings for him. Was he just jealous deep down? No, that's not possible.

"Alright then! I'll see you tonight! Gosh I'm so excited!" Akali exclaimed. Soft thuds could be heard from the room, the girl likely jumping up and down likely. "Okay Kayn, I'll see you later. Make sure to come topless." She purred, an attempt to be seductive.

That made James flinch and wince. He didn't know why he was so annoyed now. The man hastily moved away from the door before Akali could register his appearance. The rapper peeked out of her door, glancing both ways to see nobody. James was behind a wall, sighing to himself and pressing his fingers against his temple.

"Real mature James." He mumbled. "Real fucking mature."

He took a breath to regain his composure. However, just as he was about to move, a muffled sound emanated nearby. James's brows furrowed as his eyes narrowed. He thought he was just hearing things, but then he heard it again. Sounded like a person in pain… and pleasure?

He heard it again, James pinpointing the source to the mildly open bathroom door. Curiosity and concern taking over, he cautiously moved to the door. As he inched further, James could hear faint panting with a clearer moan. When he peeked in, his eyes widened.

Caitlyn was seen against the wall, her mouth hung open with worrisome brows, eyes clenched shut. Her spine was curved, and James saw her shapely rear get grabbed by a hand of the woman who was currently between Caitlyn's legs. He saw the signature pink hair of Vi, the larger woman's scalp grasped by Caitlyn who hissed out.

"How… do I keep… letting you talk… me into this?" Caitlyn breathed. Her euphoric gasp was proof Vi licked her in the right spot.

The pinkette chuckled huskily. "Because Cupcake… all I gotta do is… talk about my ass… and you're all over me."

Caitlyn hissed a stifled laugh. She grabbed Vi's head with both hands, bringing her up with the woman's mouth having some essence coating it.

"Don't speak again until I come." Caitlyn snarled. "Now get to work."

The woman pushed Vi's head between her legs, the pinkette getting to work as Caitlyn covered her mouth.

James had been peeping for too long, his face burnt with red as he shook his head and quickly left in secrecy, the two women oblivious to their privacy being infiltrated. He felt so perverted for not stopping sooner, his pants having an uncomfortable tightness. When he turned a corner, James found Evelynn marching toward him, the magenta-haired woman's eyes lighting up when seeing him.

"Oh, there you are darling!" She exclaimed. The diva vastly took his hand and James followed her gesture. She merrily hummed as she led him to her bedroom, swiftly opening and pulling him inside and slamming it shut. James wondered if this was what he imagined, but he ridded those thoughts. This resulted in Evelynn taking him by surprise, kissing him in a wanted and needy fashion. James kissed her back, only putting his hands on her shoulders as much as he'd like to grab her butt.

"So… what's going on?" James asked after their kissing ended.

Evelynn exhaled via her nostrils, looking at James with soft eyes. She tapped his arms, James's hands moving off her shoulders as Evelynn took them with hers. She placed them atop his, hers being smaller in size.

"Darling, I have something to ask you." Evelynn said. "Something very, very important."

James's eyes were more focused when she said those words. He nodded and Evelynn sat on her bed, the man following her actions.

"So what is it?"

Evelynn bit her lower lip. "James… my darling, how much do you want this?"

His response was furrowed brows and narrowed eyes, a curious look as he figured out what she was referring to. James still had to make sure of it. "What do you mean?"

"This darling," Evelynn said. "Us. You and me. How much do you want it?"

Her voice sounded low and almost shy. It had a pinch of uncertainty and even anxiety. This slightly baffled James, but he would answer her truthfully.

"I want it enough to risk being fired." He said, a mute chuckle as Evelynn did the same. James knew that wasn't fully what she was looking for as an answer.

"I know that darling… but that's not good enough of an answer." She said.

"I had a hunch." James shrugged. "But what else can I say to satisfy your curiosity? What is it you're worried about Evelynn?"

The woman sighed. She brushed some of her hair aside, taking a deep breath.

"Surely you know that when celebrities are with other people… there's always a group of people, either small or large, that tend to have differing views on the relationship." Evelynn said.

He was aware of that. James wasn't the kind of guy who was up-to-date with celebrity gossip, but he'd heard of a few incidents amongst celebrities and their "fans". However, what struck him odd was that Evelynn was asking him this now. Was she planning on coming out about their secret relationship soon? No, she was probably just trying to remind him what he was committing to.

"Are you worried about me not being able to take the reaction from the public?" James asked. "Or is it more about the backlash from fans like those at the mall?"

Evelynn sighed again. "Oh darling, you're too smart for your looks." She chuckled. "Yes, I am worried about that."

She immediately heard a wheezed laugh from James. Evelynn looked at him with bewilderment, finding his reaction to be annoying. He believed she was joking, but Evelynn was far from that.

"Really?" James asked turning to her. He was smiling slightly, but that vanished when seeing her expression.

"Yes. I am really serious about that darling."

James wanted to apologize there, but he didn't see the need to. Her concern was sincere, but the reason why made him baffled. He could still understand where she was coming from.

He bit his lip. "May I ask why?"

The diva blinked and exhaled. "You may find this hard to believe, but those rumors of me being with past male celebrities… they didn't quite end the way you'd imagine."

James leaned closer, keenly interested. Evelynn pinched her nose.

"I can't say I blame them." She sighed. "They didn't all end with me giving them heartbreak, some ended with them leaving me, even when I felt great affection."

He blinked and his brows furrowed. Her voice sounded hollow when saying those words. James got closer in a caring motion. He wasn't entirely sure what to say about those past partners.

"Well, listen Evelynn." James said with his hand on her shoulder. "I don't know what to say about those events, but I can assure you of this; I will never, ever leave you because a handful of fans can't accept the reality of you being with someone who makes you happy, or want to be with anyway." He chuckled. "But then again… finding out that your idol is in a relationship with her bodyguard… well…"

Evelynn's eyes became alarmed. She grabbed his collar, pulling him into kissing proximity, but not really kissing. The diva's brows were furrowed as she tried to glare.

"Darling… I don't care how it looks. I don't care how… it'll look." She said. "All I need to know is that you're not going to run off… when it gets rough."

James lowered his expression. He brushed Evelynn's hair, the woman closing her eyes to fully relish in the gentle action.

"I won't." He assured.

Evelynn smiled warmly. "James… thanks."

He smiled back with a grateful nod. James left the bedroom, not being seen luckily as Evelynn decided to change her clothes.

Many Years Ago

James didn't like this, and he figured Vi was the same. He asked what was happening when Vi got off the phone with the man she called Jayce. The pinkette told him the mysterious man had kept it brief, but assured James that they'd be meeting in good time. That's all she could say as Vi was almost as confused.

The two of them decided to spend the remainder of the day in her apartment, playing cards or simply watching television. Jani eventually woke up and the pair welcomed her to join in. After losing to James a third time in a row in "Go Fish", Vi told Jani to watch his cards to make sure he wasn't cheating.

As the game went on, someone knocked on Vi's door. The pinkette glanced to it, wondering who could be there when she didn't remember calling anyone over. Her neighbors never knocked either so this was suspicious. When a second knock came, James turned to Vi.

"You want to answer that, or should I?" He asked.

"I'm not sure that's a good idea James. I know for certain it's not Ekko." Vi replied.

"Is it pizza?" Jani hopefully asked.

Vi chuckled. She ruffled the little girl's hair while smiling. "If it was kiddo, I'd have you answer the door. I'd eat all the pizza before it got back to the darn table."

Jani giggled. James wanted to laugh too, but the sudden third knock which sounded like a fist hitting it caused him and Vi to flinch.

"Must be an impatient pizza man." James joked, his voice on a hitch.

"So you did order pizza?!" Jani almost squealed.

"No, no, no." Vi hushed. Her heart began quickening, and she looked to James. "Hey, why don't you and Jani go to the bedroom again? Be sure to lock the door."

"W-Why?" Jani asked.

"She's right." James agreed. "Let's do that."

"But I don't want to sleep!"

"Shh, it's not that. Just, c'mon. It's okay." James said taking the little girl.

Vi inhaled deeply, hustling to the closet by the door, taking out a steel baseball bat as another forceful knock happened. She checked to make sure James and Jani were safe before moving to the door. She peeked through the peephole of the door to see who it was.

Ice-blue eyes stared back at her through the hole, and Vi's widened. The person with said eyes backed from the door, revealing themselves to be a woman with her hair in a stylized bun. She seemed to be wearing a full leather bodysuit with silky, silver attire covering it.

"They're in, break it down." Her voice said.

A man and a woman stepped afront her, both wearing aviator sunglasses with balaclavas and army-styled berets. Vi quickly moved from the door when they simultaneously kicked it down.

Instincts kicking in, Vi raised her weapon and swung. It was halted by the man who pushed it out of her hand and sent a swift fist to her cheek. The pinkette was knocked down, the man on her in moments with a syringe in his hand. Before Vi could think, he stuck the object into her neck. Vi's consciousness faded away shortly.

Meanwhile James heard the commotion and saw what was happening. Fight or Flight wasn't an option when the masked woman saw him, bolting to James who returned to the bedroom. He was too late to close the door as the woman broke through it, falling on James with them both on the floor. Jani screamed as she watched the two of them tussle and James managed to sit up, clubbing the woman with her glasses coming off, but she easily blocked his next hit, delivering a headbutt that sent his head into the wall. She took out some handcuffs, putting them on as Jani got off the bed, sending week hits to the woman's legs.

"Leave him alone!" She cried.

The woman glanced back at the little girl, simply pushing her down as Jani began to cry. She was going to attack again, but the woman who'd given the order to break the door down intervened. She gently stopped Jani, pressing her against the wall and crouching down in front of her as the masked woman injected James with a syringe.

"Shh." She hushed, her index finger over her lips.

"Tell her to leave him alone!" Jani exclaimed.

"I cannot do that yet." The woman answered, her voice rich with an accent. She took pity on the girl. "What's your name?"

"J-Jani." The little girl stammered, still shaken up.

The woman hummed. She slowly smiled rather sweetly like a mother to their child. "Jani." She said in awe. "That names suits you; it's sweet."

For a moment Jani slowly relaxed, but the grunting of the woman picking up her still conscious brother made that go away. She looked like she'd stream tears, but the woman shushed her gently.

"Jani, Jani dear. It's okay." She whispered.

"Where are you taking him? Where's Aunt Vi?" Jani whimpered. "I don't want to be left alone!"

"Shh." The woman repeated. "They just need to come with us for a little while. They know things that are very helpful to us. Why don't I tell you my name? Would that help? We could be friends too."

Jani sniffled and her lips quivered. The woman waited for a nod and she smiled.

"My name is Camille."
