Hey, guys! You asked for it, so here it is: the LONG overdue chapter 13 of Skye the Little Flower.

The following morning, as the kids were finally waking up and dragging themselves downstairs to eat, Melinda was confusedly sifting through the fridge, looking for the bacon.

"Hey, Phil, I did get bacon when I went to the grocery store, right?" She called over her shoulder with a frown.

"Yeah, I was the one that put it away." He was reading the paper at the kitchen table while he sipped his coffee.

"Well, where the hell did you put it?" She asked, annoyed.

"It should be in the meat drawer," he replied, glancing up to look at his partner.

"It's not in there!" She stepped aside so Phil could check.

"Huh, well, would you look at that," he muttered. "I could have sworn that I put it in there."

"Whatever. I'll just get more next time I go." She sighed and returned to the stove to make the eggs.

"Good morning, Miss May!" Jemma chirped happily. Skye gave her a dirty look through narrowed, bloodshot eyes.

"You snore. A lot," Skye grumbled as she pulled herself up onto a chair.

"No, I don't. Mr Coulson, do I snore?" Jemma asked, ready to prove her friend wrong.

"YES!" Almost everyone in the room said loudly.

"Dad never told me I snored." Jemma frowned to herself.

"I can confidently say that your father is a liar," Skye shot back tiredly.

"Skye, wake up and eat," Melinda said as she put the eggs and toast down on the table.

"Fine," Skye drawled as she picked up a fork.

"And don't forget your first day of school is tomorrow!" Phil said cheerfully.

"Nooo!" Skye and Grant wailed. Jemma and Leo, however, looked absolutely delighted.

"You'll be going to Ridgeview Academy. Jemma and Fitz, you are both being placed in second grade. Skye, you're in kindergarten. Grant, you'll be in first grade. Any questions?" May scanned the room.

"Do I have to wear a uniform? 'Cause if I do, I'm going to run away again," Skye said flatly.

"No, Skye, you're in kindergarten. You don't have to wear a uniform yet. Hopefully this'll all be sorted by the time you're going into the next grade." Skye sighed in relief and giggled slightly at the pouting face of her S.O.

"Wait, you don't really think we'll be stuck like this that long, do you?" Fitz frowned.

"No, no, we have the best scientists in SHIELD looking for a way to reverse the effects of the 0-8-4. We'll have you back to normal in no time," Phil said reassuringly.

"How long do you think we'll be like this then?" Grant asked nervously.

"Not much longer, hopefully. Now eat before your food gets cold." May started eating her own food. Skye and Grant shoveled food into their mouths until their plates were cleared.

"Done!" Skye declared with a grin.

"Can we go now?" Grant asked. May sighed.

"Put your plates in the sink first," Phil said.

"Yes!" Skye cheered as she and Grant raced over to the Wii, after haphazardly tossing their (thankfully plastic) dishes into the sink.

"I call dibs on Bowser!" Grant announced.

"No fair, you always get to be Bowser!" Skye whined.

"You can be Princess Peach," Grant said smugly. "Ow!"

"What was that?" May shouted into the living room.

"Skye kicked me in the shin!"

"He was being sexist!" Jemma and Leo calmly finished their food as they listened to Skye and Grant bicker.

"Mr Coulson, may we be excused? I want to read one of Francis Crick's reports on the double helical structure of DNA. It's quite fascinating. Leo, would you care to join me?"

"Okay," Leo agreed with a hesitant smile. "I'm not sure how much of it I'll understand, though."

"That's fine, I can explain it!" Phil smiled as he listened to the two scientists calmly walked upstairs while discussing their degrees. As soon as they disappeared, he turned his attention to the living room.

"Fine, jeez, you can be Bowser!" Grant finally relented.

"Good." He could see Skye's smug smile from the kitchen table. May walked back into the kitchen and slumped onto a chair.

"Those two already fight like siblings," she grumbled as she stood up to do the dishes. He could hear Jemma and Leo talking and laughing upstairs, barely being covered by the loud cheers and groans from the living room as Skye won another race in MarioKart. He smiled to himself. It already feels like home.
