Chapter Thirteen-
Location: Arena
Dragons roared as they fought.
The Dragon-Loving humans and Spirits looked disgusted that people would make wonderful creatures fight.
A Nadder-looking dragon with no legs and had fire dancing around its body tackled a two headed Snaptrapper with four tails and vines whipping around.
"Summer Nadder and Spring Snapper" Fishlegs whispered in awe, "two of the four Seasonal Dragons. Autumns Night and Winters Fury being the other two"
"'Fury' like Night Fury?" Hiccup asked.
Fishlegs nodded rapidly.
Black Ice and Jack smiled at the dragon curled up inbetween their chairs. She cooed and gave a low, but happy, chirp when she saw her Seasonal Kind.
The vines grabbed the Nadder and through it off. The Nadders wings spread and it flew, blowing violet fire at the Trapper. The Trapper snarled, the vines blocking the attacks before moving out of the way as the Trapper flew up to meet the Nadder.
The crowed was going wild until a loud screeching was heard and a purple blast hit the roof of the arena, causing smoke to go everywhere. Silence echoed before the smoke cleared.
The Berkians cheered, all knowing who interfered.
Toothless (with Hiccup on his back), Stormfly, the Nadder and the Trapper stood side-by-side, seeming to wait for something. Suddenly all three of them leapt into the air and the entire place was covered in large Dracaena plants and fire. The people screamed as they ran, the brave few pulled out their weapons, ready to fight their attackers.
Merida, Rapunzel and Quirin made themselves known, fighting the humans.
This time everyone (but the bad guys) cheered.
CUT TO: Underneath the Arena
Astrid, Eugene and Jack walked through dark halls, opening doors and freeing the dragons trapped.
Eugene opened the last cage and the Terrors inside flew out quickly, roaring and following the other dragons that were led by Astrid out of their cages and into the open air.
Eugene: That's the Last of Them!
Astrid: Let's Go!
"Thanks for helping" Hiccup thanked his future friends, they all waved it off with a 'no problem'.
The three left and Astrid whistled. Stormfly broke off of the herd of firing dragons and landed next to her owner. Astrid jumped onto Stormfly's back and they returned to Hiccup and Toothless's side.
Soon the raid was over and the Season Guardians and their company regrouped as the now-free dragons flew off.
Eugene, rubbing his hands together: That was fun, what're we gonna do next?
Quirin: We need to keep heading North-West, we'll get to Shard's place within a week
Jack shook his head in disappointment.
Jack shot him a side-glance before rolling his eyes (he murmured to himself, sounding disappointed): Still a moron
Black Ice laughed as Jack shook his head sadly. Quirin glared at both of them.
-Time Skip-
Location: Owls Town
The travelers walked through a small town, getting suspicious looks. Jack gazed around; this place seemed familiar.
A Townsman walked over.
Townsman: Hello travelers, what is your business here?
Quirin: We are just passing through; it is the quickest way to get where we are going
A child glanced at him with huge, innocent eyes: so, you're not here to learn about the Spirit of Life?
Black Ice and Norank stiffened. Jack casted Black Ice a curious look but Black Ice wouldn't look at him.
Quirin looked surprise while the townsman scolded the child.
Merida: Spirit of Life? Who's that?
Some of the townspeople looked at each other, unsure how to respond.
Townsman: Come, the Prophet will answer your questions.
"'Prophet'? Isn't that like Witch Craft?"
Emily nodded to her daughter, worried about what the children were going to endure. Jack stiffened when he heard the question and Black Ice mumbled something incoherent.
They followed the man to a house a ways away from the town, on a hill.
Townsman: Wait here
He entered the house as the Seasons and Co. waited.
Merida: What do you think the kid meant by 'Spirit of Life'?
Quirin: The Spirit of Life died before the Guardians of Childhood were created, it is said that the son of the Spirit of Greed killed her to gain her powers. But there are prophecies of her return.
Black Ice looked down and mumbled something else in the same tone, Jack shot him a worried look.
Elderly voice: Right you are, but there is more to the story
The Seasons turned, {it was the same elder who read the Prophecy} and Merida gasped.
Merida: I know you
The elder smiled softly: I was your nurse maid when you were younger. Princess Merida
Merida's eyes brightened, "Rosa!"
Merida's eyes brightened: Rosa! It's good to see you again
The two hugged.
Rosa: It's good to see you too, Mi'Lady
They broke the hug and Rosa gestured for them to come in.
The house was ordinary on the inside, the only unordinary thing was the crystal on the table.
Rosa: Sit, I'll make us tea and answer all your questions
They sat down and soon the woman placed a tea pot and tea cups for everyone on the table. Rosa sat in a seat next to Jack and Astrid.
Quirin: What can you tell us about the Spirit of Life?
Everyone leaned closer.
Rosa smiled softly: The Spirit of Life was the betrothed of Norank's son. It is said the Norank manipulated his son into taking her life. Norank's son disappeared two weeks later. The is a prophecy that states that the Spirit of Life will rise again in the form of a young child. In the prophecy, it says that the child is the strongest Spirit, even stronger than the Man in the Moon.
The Guardians stiffened, that was why they needed to keep Inaksesib safe.
Norank scowled, he was going to break her will and force her to do his bidding!
Quirin interrupted: Can we hear the prophecy?
Rosa bobbed her head and stood up, grabbed a book with a strange symbol on the cover, sat down, and flipped it to the correct page.
Rosa read the prophecy:
"The last born of the Lost Tribe
Will have Power Like No Other.
They have the Power over Death, Darkness, Winter and Life;
They will be the most powerful creature in any world.
If they submit to one, they will forever be in his service,
But be warned, only one can submit them."
Norank chuckled darkly, "and that will be me"
"Not working for you so far, isn't it?" Jack taunted.
Norank glared at the ignorant brat, Jack just smiled cheerfully back.
The Spirits and Co. frowned, the prophecy gave them more questions and few answers.
Rosa: There is also one about the Season Spirits, if you want to hear it?
They nodded and she turned a few pages before reading that prophecy:
"When the Spirit of Greed rises once more
The Seasons Guardians will be called upon.
Autumn with more Knowledge than anyone,
Spring with the Kindness that rivals,
Summer with the Courage better than a bear,
And Winter with Volatile emotions.
This omen came to pass once before,
When Nivos was born.
However, They would need help from the Nightmare King's Daughter
For she is the one Norank is searching for."
"We already heard this though, why do we have to hear it again?!" Snotlout complained.
"'Cause I said so" Eclipse responded.
The boy glared at her and she snickered.
Rosa closed the book: it is believed that Nivos is the new Spirit of Life, however no one has seen her in over seven years.
Jack: What do you mean?
Rosa: Nivos came here, along with her twin brother, after their village was destroyed. They lived here and I treated them like they were my own. Almost a year later, our village was attacked. Her brother's body was found a few miles from the village, but Nivos was nowhere to be seen.
People felt sad for the girl; she lost her birth home, her brother and her freedom.
They were silent for a while before Rosa stood.
Rosa to Jack: Come, I want to show you something
Jack blinked in surprise: Just me?
Rosa nodded and Jack looked at the others: I'll be right back
They nodded and Jack followed the Elder.
Emily stiffened. Jack was in danger if he went with the woman alone.
