3 days later, Moshigara at night…..
A group of five people dressed like peasants entered an inn. It was fairly late to be walking about, but nobody questioned them very much. They then went to their rooms and quickly gathered in one of the rooms. The inn rooms weren't impressive, but they would work.
Then a woman spoke casually. "Have any of you gathered any useful information?" Then a man spoke "None of notable relevance. That's to be expected when I was put to monitor citizens though. They hardly knew anything."
Another man spoke up "I was monitoring some noble houses and also came out with no good intel. One noble did say something about being nice to a white looking man with black hair. I doubt that has any relevance though" They all nodded in agreement. The majority of people were that color.
A woman then spoke "Well I was at the king's castle undercover as a maid. I saw someone I had never seen before. He wore a cloak, was white, black hair, and had a silver ring. He also had a sword. His eyes were red and blue, I've never seen someone like that before. I was dressed like a maid so he didn't suspect me.
"Leader, maybe he was the white man the noble talked about. She then responded with "Maybe so. We should watch him closely then. He could be very important. I will send a [Message] to the Theocracy about his existence." They nodded in unison and went to their rooms.
The leader then went to sit down in a chair in her room. She then put two fingers up to her temple and cast [Message]. Someone picked up and she told her report to the person on the other line, the Cardinal of Darkness. When she finished, she cancelled the spell. She then laid on her bed and started to relax. "Well hopefully tomorrow is better. Maybe something exciting will finally happen."
The next day….
Alba had just finished the session with the teacher the king had given him. He was making decent progress in 4 days. He learned how to read single words by themselves. Of course it would take more time to actually be fluent. After mastering reading he would then pick up writing.
These were important skills that were vital in this world. He was walking down the hallway when he passed a maid. She gave him a glance that people usually never gave him. Instead of intrigue or fear. It was more like an observation. Sure it was important for a maid to know someone living in the castle. He had passed by the same maid twice before. It was always the same look.
He was curious when he went back and touched her shoulder and said "Excuse me, but can you please stop giving me that look. It is quite annoying."
The maid then turned around and politely bowed. She then said "I'm sorry sir. I'll make sure to stop myself next time." Alba then smiled and said "Good, I hope we see each other again." and he then walked away.
The maid then pressed her back on the wall and sighed. She thought her cover had been blown. If anyone found out that a Windflower Scripture member was in the castle. That would most definitely start a war. She then forced her body to relax and continued to walk down the hall.
Capital of the Quetzal Kingdom…..
Tlatoani Favian Era Colomula theⅡwas walking down the street of his kingdom. Usually he would take a horse or carriage. He felt like walking though. It beats paperwork and he wanted to go to the temples. It was a win-win situation either way.
He walked with one magic caster and a soldier. They couldn't let him walk without guards. They were always on watch for assassins. Especially since they aren't in the Slane Theocracies good books because of differences in religion.
For "Defenders of Humanity" they were very aggressive to humans not within their beliefs. They even found a Windflower Scripture member here once. They interrogated him heavily, but never talked. So they ended up killing him.
He arrived at the temple. It had a statue of their dragon god in front of it. The dragon was very long and slim . It looked more like a serpent than anything. What looked like scales were actually feathers. People didn't know if it had wings. It never descended from the sky. It had this one time to save his people from destruction. The only statues they have were made by their ancestors. That was many many years ago. So people just believe that's what it looked like. It is certainly impressive that's for sure.
He entered the temple. It had people on their knees in prayer and looking at a mural. In front of the mural was an altar that would accept offers from the people. The most popular thing to put up there was food. When the god did descend the earth that one time. It gave them food, material, artifacts and much more. It practically gave them life and they were more than happy to worship it in return.
He went to his knees and prostrated and said a prayer. He then walked up to the altar and placed a small bag of bread on the table. Any food or water would then be given to orphanages or other housing facilities at the end of the day. It was a good system, They didn't need priests. They were ultimately unnecessary and encouraged corruption. The god would not want it's children corrupt and hurting each other. They learned that when looking at the Theocracy churches and how priests were so invincible that they were the most corrupt out of anyone.
They would not let them happen to themselves and they disowned the tradition of priests. Also nobody could speak the will of the gods other than the god itself. He then left and started walking back to the castle.
The skies above Quetzal…..
It was peaceful and calm. Then a large serpent flew through the clouds at a fast pace. It then stopped fast and floated in place, coiling itself a bit. It's scale-like feathers were a beautiful red and green color. It had a large pair of wings that were the same color as it's feathers on it's body. That made the creature gorgeous to look at. It's head was shaped like a snake, but wasn't as smooth and narrow. It then looked down at the Kingdom of Quetzal.
"I'm proud of my human followers. They have done well after giving them artifacts and the means to survive. They exceeded my expectations." He said aloud in a deep voice. Nobody had heard him.
"The Slane Theocracy, whatever they are. Are a threat to my people. I won't strike them, but if they even attack one town or kill a Tlatoani. My wrath will destroy them, nobody will mess with my followers. After all, I put so much effort into making them a strong nation."
He then looked forward and saw a dragon approach him. It's scales were the color of the sky. It was smaller than the serpent. The dragon then spoke "Good afternoon Quetzalcoatl. I hope you're not busy."
Quetzalcoatl then responded "I'm never busy. I haven't descended the ground in decades. It gets quite boring up here eventually."
The dragon then chuckled "Well if that's the case. Can you keep teaching me tier magic? I can't use Wild Magic like my stronger brethren as I'm a False Dragon Lord."
The serpent then looked at him curiously and asked "Are you sure? I showed you how to cast a tier one spell and that took you months to learn. I still don't know why it's so hard for dragons to learn tier magic. Do you know why Blue Sky Dragon Lord?"
He then shook his head "No, I don't know why. It's quite interesting though. Maybe it's because our blood for centuries only knew Wild Magic. It's still a mystery though."
"I see, well let's go to the regular spot to train you. I wonder how long it will take you to learn this tier one spell. It's called [Magic Arrow] and it's an offensive spell." Quetzalcoatl said with a smile.
Blue Sky Dragon Lord was a little embarrassed as he said "Alright, but it's not like I want to take years to learn one spell. Good thing dragons get stronger with age."
Quetzalcoatl then chuckled "That is a good thing, after all you will need all the years you can get to learn tier magic.
They flew off towards the Azerlisia Mountains to begin Blue Sky Dragon Lord's tier magic training….
