Meeting Ego / A Propersition:
"How could they?! HOW COULD THEY?!" Ayesha was stomping around her throne around in circles on her heavy solid feet. "HOW – COULD – THEY – ESCAPE?! We had them surrounded! We were this close!" she held out two solid fingertips that almost touched enough. "THIS CLOSE…to killing them. Until at the exact moment when they're about to perish, our ships are blown up!"
Her guards and her handmaidens stiffened under the power of her outburst. Ayesha managed to calm down a bit. It still wasn't quite over for her yet. "There must be another way. Another way for this universe to be rid of them," she paced around her throne again until her captain spoke up.
"High Priestess. I think I have a solution!"
Ayesha stopped pacing. She turned slowly to her captain, asking: "What?"
The captain stood up. "From the looks of their leader's jackets, they come from the Ravangers. And from what I've read on our special data, they were raised by the clan captained by Yondu Udonta and his brother,"
Ayesha's face didn't brighten, but her eyes seemed to a bit. If they couldn't capture or better, kill them – then they would have to rely on a group of people who could, people who two of them were well acquainted with.
Things on Berhert was not cool either.
"Look at this!" Gamora screamed furiously at the state of their ship. "Where's the other half of our ship?!"
"Mine and Tina's ship," Peter corrected in a calm voice.
"Either one of you could have gotten us through that field, if you had flown with what's between your ears instead of what's between your legs!" Gamora shouted, pointing her fingers at them.
"You boys are a pair of idiots!" Tina shouted, furrowing her eyebrows and burning like fire. "You chose the wrong time at the wrong moment to fight over the Milano! And now look at her!" The Milano meant a great deal to her. As a kid she had painted it and fashioned some cool things on it, and now it was a pile of wrecked metal.
"If what's between my legs had a hand on it, I guarantee I could have landed this ship," Peter said over to Drax, ignoring the girls' rants.
"Peter, we almost died because of your arrogance," Gamora reprimanded.
"More like because he stole Annulax batteries!" Peter defended himself pointing at Rocket.
"They're called Harbulary batteries," Drax stated.
"Ugh! How many times do we have to tell you they're called Annulax batteries," Tina said getting extremely annoyed with Drax.
"You both wanna why I did it, Star Munch?"
"We're not goanna answer to Star Munch," Peter simply answered.
"I did it because I wanted to,"
"Dick," Peter retorted calmly.
"You such a selfish fanatic," Tina hissed at Rocket. It was mainly his fault for their crash-landing since he started it in the first place, not matter how much she was mad at her brother as well. "Of all the times you had to be so injudicious, this was the WORST! Why do you always think about yourself? Why do you always have to be so stupid? Why do you always have to act before you think things through?!"
Meredith glared darkly at Rocket, blaming him for everything that has just transpired.
"What are we even talking about this for? We just had a little man save us by blowing up fifty ships!" Rocket reminded them of their unknown saviour.
"How little?" Drax asked.
"Well, sort of like this?" Rocket closed his middle and left fingertips nearly together.
"A little one-inch man saved us?" Gamora questioned, not believing his claim.
"Well, if he got closer, I'm sure he'd be much larger." Rocket analysed
"Yeah, that's how eyesight works, you stupid raccoon." Peter ranted at him.
"DON'T CALL ME A RACCOON!" Rocket riled at him, snaring his sharp teeth. He hated being called the name of what he actually was.
"I'm sorry, I took it too far," Peter apologised in a manner that Meredith on his shoulder could clearly see was fake. "I meant 'trash panda',"
Meredith wiped the back of his head with her tail.
"Is that better?" Rocket asked, hoping for a yes.
"I don't know." Drax answered.
Peter raised a smug on his face. "It's worse. It's so much worse." he giggled out.
Rocket fumed up. "You son of a…" he jumped up and bit at Peter. "I've had it with you!"
"Well I've had it with you and your stupidity and your thievery and your dumb ideas!" Peter retorted.
"That's it!" Rocket pulled out his gun, but Tina intervened.
"You two need a time out!" Tina stepped forward pushed them apart. "Both of you apologise to each other this instant!"
"You're taking his side too?!" Peter questioned, flabbergasted that she expected both of them to apologise.
During the bickering, Gamora heard a roaring sound from up above. She looked up and saw a white pod descending down towards them. "Guys…someone followed us through the jump point!"
The others looked up and saw the pod too. Rocket readied his gun again, the twins unravelled their Quadblasters, the Guntrins growled on their owner's shoulders, Drax primed himself a large space gun, Groot dashed outside and jumped onto Rocket's shoulder. The Guardians starred up as they saw the pod descend closer and closer to where they standing.
Nebula, however, was still handcuffed as a prisoner. "Set me free from these bonds! You'll need my help,"
"I'm not a fool Nebula," Gamora was not naïve. She knew her sister better.
"You are a fool Gamora if you and your friends think you can stop this being,"
"You'll attack me the moment I let you go," Gamora didn't turn to look at her.
"No I won't," Nebula lied.
"You know you think an evil supervillain would learn how to properly lie," Tina commented.
"Gamora is way to smart to fall for anything," Peter addressed this compliment to Gamora. Gamora would have said 'thanks' but she was not in the mood for that sort of stuff at the opinion.
"I bet it's the one-inch man," Drax looked excited, much to Tina's chagrin.
"Stop taking every conflict we find ourselves in as a joke," she muttered loudly.
"Sorry," Drax quickly apologised. It was so easy to get on Tina's temper, despite her good nature and her decent loyalty to her team.
The giant white pod landed twenty metres from where the Guardians and their prisoners stood. It had an oval side and a golden circle in the centre. It landed carefully amongst the debris of dirt and trees just opposite the group and their destroyed ship.
The yellow wall melted away, revealing two men. One man had antennas on his head, black-ball eyes with a single speck of white, black hair tied back with streak of green and a slim build. He was wearing a green and black suit with green armbands and a silver sword was strapped to his back. The other man standing next to him, looked old and completely Terran. like Peter and Tina. A mob of grey hair swung from his head and a matching beard grew around his face under his brown eyes. He was suited in a beige and brown suit with a long grey cape that looked like it was a rag. They stepped out cautiously.
The Guardians eyed them intently. Saviour or not, they did completely see them as friends yet.
"After all these years, I have found you both." the bearded being spoke over to the Quill Twins with a nature of relief.
"Who the hell are you?" Peter questioned.
"How do you know us?" Tina demanded.
"I figured my rugged good looks would make that obvious. My name is Ego, and I'm your dad, Peter and Tina.
Peter and Tina stood stunned by the revelation as their eyes widened, their lips parting too. The colour seemed to fade from their fazes as they froze in shock. After all these years, they were now staring at the man who was their father. The father who left their mother many years ago when they weren't even born. How was this possible? And how did he look so human? He couldn't be Terran like them. What was this 'ancient' being really?
Hundreds of planets away, far across the cosmos, on a snow-covered planet called Contraxia, the Ravangers were dining at a bar called the "Iron Lotus" with numerous aliens. They were laughing and bragging and chatting, and flirting with all the yellow ladies of the inn; all except Warran who slouched against the wall. He hadn't been quite himself these past six months, only his brother seemed to notice this change and often questioned his brother, but he always shrugged them as if it was of no concern.
Yondu was on the top floor without his shirt on, staring out, thinking about Peter and Tina. He had been awfully worried about them since their departure six months ago. He didn't feel like drinking with his crew or talking with anyone including the robotic yellow waitresses.
Just after he had yelled at a waitress to leave him alone, he heard calling outside. He looked out and saw Kraglin pointing towards an old mentor who had trained him in the ways of the Ravangers since he was a boy: Stakar Ogord. He was human-like being with a grey suit and grey hair that ruffled off his head.
He instantly put on his shirt and his long coat and walked outside to meet his old mentor.
"Haven't seen Ogord in a long time have we brother," he said over to his brother as Warran joined him once he had exited the bar.
"We haven't brother," Warran said a little glumly.
"Stakar Ogord, it's been a long time," Yondu greeted, holding a smile as he saluted him with a pat across his chest.
As Stakar noticed him, there was no glimmer in his eyes, only a dim look. He ignored him and looked up to the matriarch of the planet's inn. "There are a hundred Ravanger Factions. You just lost the business of ninety of them by serving one!" He waddled away with his fellow mates, not giving another glimpse at the Udonta brothers, much to Yondu's anger.
The inn-keeper pursued him, screaming out: "Please sir! Please!"
But Stakar pushed her way.
"Stakar!" Yondu called after him again, surprised by how he was pretending he was not there, ignoring him as if he was a ghost.
Stakar did not listen.
Yondu flew into a rage of fury. "You can go to hell then! I don't give a damn what you think of me!" He fired out his words with wrath and hatred. He knocked over a table and the whole party seemed to gasp and stare at the fiasco.
Stakar twist round to meet his angry eyes. "So what are you following us for?"
"Are you gonna listen to what I gotta say?!" Yondu demanded. "To what my brother has to say too?!"
"I don't gotta listen to nothing, you both betrayed the code. Ravangers don't deal in kids! Much less how you Yondu kept two Terran beings and raised them as your own instead of letting your crew eat them,"
"I told you before, I didn't know what was going on..."
"My brother, and I as well, kept those two Terrans because we believed they could be useful for thieving," Warran spoke at last.
"You both didn't know 'cause you both didn't wanna know, 'cause that made you both, so rich."
"We demand a seat at the table!" Yondu ranted. "We wear these flames, same as you!" Yondu reminded, gesturing to the flame symbol on his jacket.
Warran didn't make a move. He was all still and quiet again, giving a glum face.
"You may dress like us, but you'll never hear the hordes of freedom when you die, Yondu, and the colours of Ogord will never flash over your grave," declared boldly. "If you think I take pleasure in exiling you and your brother, you're wrong. You broke all our hearts." sounded sad, shocked, betrayed by the two Kree males who he had looked after since they were kids. He and his cronies stalked away in a huffy manner towards their ships, leaving the bewildering brother standing there.
Kraglin and some ugly Ravangers including the strong-headed Taserface had observed the fiasco; it was not good. Taserface was the most enraged of what Yondu's expulsion meant for them. He had been bitterly resentful of their captain ever since he let Peter and Tina go scot-free.
"First those slim Quill Twins betray us, now Yondu just lets him go, scot-free. Now he's getting all riled over nothing. We followed him 'cause he was the one wasn't afraid to do what needed to be done. Seems like he's going soft. It's those blasted twins. Ever since he first laid eyes on them, he's always doted on them – over the rest of us. I wish I'd have killed them when they were kids and eaten them,"
"Did that and you would have been cast out to space," Kraglin carefully told him. "And if he's so soft why you are whispering for?"
Taserface stared seriously at his colleague. "You know I'm right, Kraglin."
"You best watch what you say about the Cap'n, Taserface..." a Ravanger named Retch advised.
"Who the hell is that?!' Kraglin looked forward and pointed towards a golden queen, dressed up warmly, accompanied by guards in blue suits and handmaidens in yellow dresses who were rolling out a long blue carpet for her to walk on.
For a brief moment, the carpet roller got stuck and it took a moment for the left-side handmaiden to adjust it, much to the calm but cold impatience of her mistress.
Once the carpet was completely unrolled, the handmaidens stood by her side and the guards took their protective posts.
"Yondu Udonta, Warren Udonta…" the golden queen addressed in a strange manner. "I have a proposition for you two. One that will guarantee you reclaim your position amongst the Ravangers,"
Yondu looked as he if was surprised by this chance to reclaim his rightful place amongst the Ravangers. He would give anything for that position again. "I'm listening,"
"Bring me the Guardians of the Galaxy and my batteries that they stole from me, and you shall be rewarded a trillion units,"
Yondu was intrigued by her request. But Warran could sense a touch of betrayal in his eyes. The price she had offered might not be enough to sway Yondu's heart; Peter and Tina meant a great deal to him. Or else he would have gone after them when they swapped the real Orb for a fake orb with a troll doll inside.
Hope you're all enjoying it so far. Please send in any ideas or reviews if you can. It would be most helpful.
