Alright i'll keep this short. I finished the story. It's not where I was originally going with it I think but its been so long and I lost motivation to finish it. I couldn't let the unfinished story continue to haunt my dreams though so I just had to finish it up XD. I hope you enjoy it! Thanks to anyone who takes the time to actually read my poor attempts at writing!
"Sam? What's wrong?! Sam!" Danny did his best to keep his hold on her but she sprung forward so violently he lost his grip.
"Arrgghhh!" Sam screamed out again as she clutched her side tighter, as her headache seemed to lessen. "D-Danny. My side, it hurts so bad."
"Okay, okay. Here take your pills and maybe that will help." He really didn't want her to take these suspiciously green pills but there was nothing else he could think to do at the moment.
"Pills? Wh-ah! What pills?" Sam did her best to take in her surroundings as Danny came close with the pills. "Danny…how did we get to my house? What happened at the doctors? Did Dash rupture my stiches?"
Danny looked at her with even more concern as he held the pills in his hand. "Sam, that was three days ago. You just got discharged from the hospital." He used his left hand to lift her face a little to get a better look at her eyes. "What's the last thing you remember?"
Sam had a thoughtful look on her face. "I…I got checked into the hospital? Then, it was night time and you came to visit with Tuck. I-" She tried to think hard about what happened after that but up until this very moment she couldn't recall anything. "I don't remember anything after that." Panic started to set in on her face but was quickly replaced with pain as her side flared up again.
The amount of concern on Danny's face was immeasurable. "You don't remember being in the hospital for a while after that? Tucker and I came to visit a couple times. You were cuffed to your bed for most of it because of your parents." At the mention of her parents Danny stiffened. Sam had screamed pretty loud and there was no one that came barging into her room. "Sam, are your parents' home?"
"Arggh!" She screamed out again in pain. "I don't know! I don't even know how I got here Danny!" Sam curled in more on herself. "It feels like I'm getting electrocuted from the inside out!"
"Okay, Okay! Um…" Danny looked down to the pills and then back to Sam. "Alright Sam, take these and I think that should help?"
Sam weakly took the pills and shoved them in her mouth. After roughly swallowing them she cringed a little more due to how uncomfortable it was. "What was that?"
"I don't know Sam. I don't know but I didn't know what else to do! We need-" Danny was interrupted by his cell ringing. It was Tucker.
Danny answered his phone to tell Tucker to hurry to Sam's but before he could get any words out Tucker was yelling. "Danny! Where are you?!"
"I'm at Sam's house. Something's wrong!" Danny practically shouted into the phone even though Sam seemed to not be cringing as much in pain.
"I'm on my way! I think I might know what's wrong but I can't be sure. I don't remember anything after we visited her that night after Nasty Burger!"
"What? What do you mean you don't remember anything Tucker? What's going on? Sam doesn't remember anything after that either!" He looked over to Sam again who was significantly calmer now and didn't seem to be in much pain. "Sam? How are you feeling?" His only response was a small groan.
"Danny? Danny! I'll be there as fast as I can but you need to be careful. I think I was overshadowed but I can't be sure. The last thing I remember was sitting up in my room and I was in so much pain that I threw up and a bunch of ectoplasm came out. You need-" The phone was suddenly zapped out of his hand and fried. Looking in the direction the blast came from, all he saw was Sam with her palm held up.
"Sam? What-" Danny was suddenly kicked away from her by her sock-clad feet. She then stood up and took a fighting stance. "What are you doing Sam? How did you even do that?"
Sam didn't say a word as she charged at him, aiming a blast for his head. Luckily he dodged in time and put some distance between them. "Sam!"
"It's no use in calling to her now. Not after she just got a fresh dose of ectoplasm." Danny whipped around and saw Dr. James sitting on Sam's window perch.
"I knew you were up to no good! Who are you and what have you done to Sam?!" Danny yelled as he changed form into Danny Phantom.
"I suppose I remember being this dense at 16 but never this idiotic." Dr. James stood up as two rings appeared around his waist. Once the transformation was done, Dark Danny stood in his place.
"Y-you? I thought clockwork had you!" Danny went to throw an ecto-blast at him but was stopped as someone grabbed him from behind and slammed him into the ground. He looked up to see it was Sam as she pressed a surprisingly strong foot on his chest, keeping him grounded on the floor. "Sam!"
"Ah I see the ectoplasm is working like a charm." Dark Danny calmly walked over and stood over Danny. "Since I know you're dying to know what's happening, I'll happily clue you in." He smirked. "I've slowly been working my ectoplasm into Sam ever since that ridiculous contest and I saw how well she took to it with trace amounts in her body."
Danny grunted as he attempted to shift Sam's foot off his chest. "How do you know about that?! If you were really there you'd know she almost died from severe hypothermia!"
"That's just it boy! She didn't die even though the average person should have. The only reason she survived is because she was able to harness ghost-like abilities through the ectoplasm. How do you think her body could handle such a drop in temperature for that long?" Dark Danny chuckled mockingly as Danny continued to struggle. He leaned down closer to Danny's face. "Now, she has enough ectoplasm to basically call herself a hybrid like us. But that's not even the best part." Dark Danny straightened back up and turned his back to Danny as he walked back towards the window. " The best part is that with enough of your ectoplasm in any human you can essentially control them, overshadow them without the hassle of actually being present. Fantastic stuff isn't it?" He chuckled evilly as he looked out the window.
With his back turned Danny took this opening as he grabbed the foot Sam wasn't using to hold him down and pulled it forward as hard as he could causing her to fall to the ground. "Sorry Sam." Danny put some distance between Sam and his older evil self. "Change her back!"
Dark Danny hadn't even moved after the slight commotion behind him. "Oh yeah, let me get right on that." He suddenly flew out the window and before Danny had a chance to chase after him he came back up with Tucker hanging by his collar in his hand. "I had to pick up our final guest." As he dropped Tucker to the floor he sank back down to the ground behind the fallen boy.
"D-Danny, what's going on?"
Danny looked to Tucker briefly before shifting his eyes back to Dark Danny. "My evil self somehow escaped clockwork, took control of Sam, and is- well I'm not sure what his endgame is here."
"My 'endgame' is to finally complete my trial run of my new puppet." Dark Danny smirked. "Kill them."
Sam suddenly ran towards Danny from his left who dodged the charge and grabbed her arm to pull her back to his chest and restrain her. "Sam! Snap out of it!" He hardly noticed someone scurrying over towards them as she lifted her foot only to ram it into his shin causing him to loosen his grip in shock. She took that opportunity to smash an elbow into his face. "Ow!"
Sam flipped forward and away from him as Tucker came up to his side. As soon as she landed she turned around and shot an ecto-blast straight for Tucker's head. Danny dove to shove Tucker away and they both fell to the ground. "Dude! Since when can she do that?!"
"Since she has a boat load of my evil selves ectoplasm in her. Apparently he can control her well enough to enable her to fight and use my power." Danny said as he shifted off of Tucker, both of them scrambling to their feet. She charged at them again but went to sweep there legs. Luckily Danny's reflexes were quick enough to grab Tucker and fly them through the ceiling as they went intangible. "I don't know what to do Tuck. She's not responding and I'm not sure how to get her to snap out of it."
Tucker's eyes flashed bright with an idea. "Maybe all we need to do is get her to throw up like I did. The ectoplasm will come out and boom! Back to normal."
Danny looked thoughtful for a moment. "I'm not so sure. He was injecting her with ectoplasm so I'm not sure that would help much. The only thing she would throw up are those pills…" Suddenly he was overcome with a sense of understanding. "Those pills must have ectoplasm in it. His hold must not be as strong as he is playing it up to be because she was lucid enough to be herself when I was talking to her earlier but she was in a lot of pain."
Danny finally set them down in one of the many rooms of the mansion and hid behind a couch once it was clear no one had followed him. Tucker spoke. "Maybe if you get her to throw up, she'll throw up what's left of the pills and go back to normal enough to not be under his spell."
He heard a door being blasted down in the room adjacent to them. "Well I guess it cant hurt to try but that still leaves the problem of her being in pain after that."
The doors to the room they were in was blown off its hinges.
"It's the best we can do right now. We'll figure the rest out as we go, but we cant let her continue on like this!" Tucker said just as 3 blasts hit the couch.
"Okay, you go right and ill fly through the couch to try and pin her to the ground. You stick your finger in her mouth to get her to throw up."
"Ew, dude! Why do I have to do that part."
"Tucker, now!" Danny flew through the couch to execute the plan. Just as he thought he had her pinned to the ground, he was kicked and flipped backwards back towards the door. When he stood up again Sam was holding Tucker up by his neck.
"A little- Ack! Help here Danny!" Tucker said swinging his legs in the air attempting to make contact with anything.
Danny flew towards her at top speed and put her in a head lock with his arms tucked under hers and then interlocked his hands behind her head. "Tucker, do it!" He struggled to hold Sam still as she flailed her lower body all over the place.
Tucker went to stick his finger down her throat but she chomped down on his finger. "Ow! She bit me!"
"Tucker!" Danny grunted in effort to hold her but it wasn't good enough. She broke free and sent a blast straight into Danny's chest causing him to fly back.
"Argh!" He shook his head a bit to shake off the hit. "New plan, restrain her!" He flew towards Sam and grabbed her shirt and lifted her in the air as she was distracted by going after Tucker once more.
Tucker glanced around the room and saw some packaging tape on the table in the room. It was then he noticed all of the boxes that were half packed. They were in her grandmothers room. Without wasting more time, Tucker ran to grab the tape and called out to Danny. "I found some tape, bring her down here and we can tape her arms and legs up."
"What good will that do if she can just go intangible?!" Danny shouted as Sam twisted around in his grasp to grab his foot and climb up his body. "Ah!"
"I don't think she can use all of your powers. Otherwise why didn't she just go through all the walls to find us instead of blasting down doors or to get out of your grasp just then."
"I hope you're right Tuck!" Danny used his right hand to grab Sam's and freeze it over enough to where it was useless for her. He did the same to the other hand and caught her before she started to fall off him towards the ground. He flew them towards Tucker. "Here, do it quickly before-" Sam blasted the ice off her hands and went to wrap them around Danny's throat. As she went for the kill, Tucker took the opportunity to secure her legs in tape so when Danny stepped back and she tried to follow, she fell to the ground. In that brief moment of shock, Danny was able to grab her hands and hold them together for Tucker to tape as well.
Danny noticed her hand light up green just in time to shove Tucker and himself back as a blast released from her hand. However, it did nothing to help free her as she continued to struggle. He sighed in relief. "We need to get the ectoplasm out of her stomach and then figure out how to get the rest out. Let's try to make her- oof!"
"Danny!" Tucker yelled as Dark Danny came out of nowhere and punched Danny in the gut.
Danny stopped himself before he hit the wall and looked up just in time to dodge a punch aimed for his face that time. "If you're finally fighting me then we must be on to something." Danny said more to himself than anything as he continued to dodge hits left and right. "Tucker! Help Sam! I'll take care of this." He dodged a roundhouse kick and charge at his older self, hard enough to make them fly though the wall adjacent to outside as he made them intangible.
Tucker looked down to Sam who had stopped struggling. "Okay, uh..Sam?" Obviously no response was given. He poked her face and she didn't even flinch. "Well, if you can hear me, um, don't bite me again please?" After propping her mouth open with one hand, he used his other to touch his finger to the back of her throat. He had only just got his hand out as he saw her tense up and shake briefly before turning to her side and throwing up a decent amount of what looked like mostly normal vomit with a bright green hue to it. She groaned in what sounded like pain after.
"Ugh…Tucker? What are you doing here?" She blinked groggily as Tucker helped her sit up. "Why are my hands and feet tapped together?" Sam asked slightly panicked as Tucker attempted to placate her.
"We had to restrain you because you were trying to kill Danny and I but no worries we made you throw up ectoplasm and it seems to be doing the trick."
Sam looked at him like he was insane. "Tucker what the hell is going on?!" Just as she finished her sentence Danny came flying through the window, breaking it and hitting the wall opposite of the room. He looked a little worn. "Danny!"
"Sam!" Danny shouted as he attempted to fly to her and Tucker but was halted by an ecto-blast that hit the floor in front of him before he could reach them.
"Ah, ah, ah. Not so fast." Dark Danny said as he floated in through the broken window. Sam gasped as she saw Danny's older, evil self.
"You!" Sam shouted as she attempted to stand to her feet before remembering she was still tied up.
"Me!" Dark Danny smirked. "I'd love to chat Samantha but I have some business to finish. Let's see how long you can fight my control this time."
Sam was about to shout at him until she flinched and grunted in pain.
"Sam? Sam what's wrong?" Tucker asked frantically as she doubled over.
"Argh! My head and my side hurt." Sam was able to say through clenched teeth.
Danny noticed all of this happen and charged for him again. "Leave her alone!"
Dark Danny grabbed his arms before Danny could hit him and held him in front of his face. "The only way to stop her pain is to stop me."
