This chapter was going to be longer, but it also would've been too confusing imo and I want to keep it simple XD

I hope you guys enjoyed this double upload. More on the way :D

Thanks to TheDarkArrow for beta reading!

The journey to the studio wasn't long by travel distance, but given the circumstances of tonight, the closer the group got to the studio, the more crowded the streets had become with fans and paparazzi, the latter being the most common. One could see that more than half of the fans were there to catch a brief glance of their idols Pentakill with the paparazzi covering anything.

Thanks to the studios' warnings ahead of time, the K/DA and their bodyguards, Caitlyn included, all took a limousine to the studio with Caitlyn being upfront. Culda chose to enter in through the garage instead.

Before they even pulled up, camera flashes were happening every half-a-second with cheers from fans sounding from all over. Caitlyn swiftly moved before the vehicle stopped, pushing her way past the bystanders and creating a perimeter large enough to have them shuffle out and form a circle. The bodyguards worked in perfect sync, keeping their clients safe from being swamped by fans and paparazzi alike. No incidents occurred luckily, and they were all inside in little over a minute.

"Good work everyone." Caitlyn complimented. "Holland, I never saw you in that situation before; excellent job in keeping the perimeter up."

James nodded with gratitude.

"What we don't get congratulations too Cupcake?" Vi asked with a frown. Caitlyn ignored the question.

"Anyhow," She said keeping the topic on business. "You all know what you're doing. Vi, Holland; take the main entrance of the room, Shen, Riven; you'll both take a door on the opposite side, I'll be working the floor from time to time. Keep my presence accounted for."

The four bodyguards nodded. Caitlyn turned to the pop-stars. "You four; try to have fun and don't get too wild." She humoredly ordered.

"Yes ma'am!" Kai'sa said with a deep voice and salute.

Caitlyn rolled her eyes. Ahri nudged Kai'sa with the dancer snickering.

They all began to make their way toward the lounge where the party was happening.

Akali's heart was racing the whole time they paced to the destination. She was about to meet one of the most well-known heavy metal bands in the world. Kai'sa had tried to ease her anxiety on the drive here, but people would always feel this way in such a situation.

Evelynn could hear shaky breathing from the rapper. The diva immediately knew what was causing it, and while she knew she should say something uplifting; Evelynn went the other way.

"You nervous darling?" Evelynn asked almost seductively.

Akali breathed in, her face reddening as she felt like her nervousness was going to spill out.

"Sort of…" She muttered.

Evelynn clicked her tongue. "Oh darling... back in the house you were so excited. Don't tell me it was all an act."

"It wasn't an act." Akali quietly and sharply replied.

"Then where's that fire?" Evelynn questioned. "Has a small drop of water caused it all to be doused?"

Akali's brows furrowed together in annoyance. She didn't speak right away, knowing she'd shout and catch everyone's attention.

"If your flame will be diminished this easily darling, maybe you should go rogue from this party." Evelynn purred, knowing that would set Akali off, but for good reason.

Just like that, Akali's nervousness swiftly vanished. The rapper took a resounding breath, feeling more determined now.

Akali started to increase her pace, getting a little ahead of her other bandmates. Kai'sa smiled with admiration as Ahri had on minor mirth. James had been keeping an eye on Akali, debating whether to give her some verbal support, but Evelynn had beat him to it. He walked up beside her, the diva smiling at his presence.

"What'd you do?"

"Just reminded her of what she has." Evelynn replied. "Why do you ask?"

James sighed momentarily. "Because I can't seem to give her the same feeling anymore." He confessed sarcastically.

"Aw. Darling don't talk like that. You'll make me cry." Evelynn pouted, drawing her finger under her eyes with a fake sniffle.

He uttered a soft laugh at her. "Well, still… thanks Evelynn. Again."

Evelynn smiled in return, looking ahead to see that she and James were in the back of the group now. The diva raised a brow suggestively, and without thinking twice, leaned over to James and gave him a smooch on the cheek.

His eyes grew, cheek warm from Evelynn's kiss. His skin mimicked that feeling and he glanced at Evelynn who pretended she didn't do anything. James rolled with it.

The rhythmic beat of music filled the hallway as they got closer to their destination. The distinct sounds of deep laughter sounded as well, and within moments the K/DA had arrived.

The lounge had neon color glow to it. The music playing wasn't techno found in most nightclubs. It was more pop-rock and the lounge was filled more than one would expect. Most of the guests had crowded around the area with leather couches which happened to be the source of the laughter.

"Alright, you all know your jobs so get to it." Caitlyn ordered. "And remember, no drinking."

"Yes mommy." Riven pouted.

Shen and Riven left the group, the male bodyguard giving Ahri a farewell. Riven walked past the bar, seeing a familiar bartender she gave a seductive smile to. James and Vi stayed at the main entrance, watching their clients part ways.

"Hey Akali." James said before the rapper left.

Akali almost sighed, but she turned. "Yeah?"

"Have fun." He answered sincerely, a sweet smile. Akali couldn't help but smile back.

"Thanks James, I'll make sure I do."

The rapper followed her bandmates, James watching her leave as he sighed. He felt Vi nudge against him with a friendly chuckle.

"You look like a mother who's sending her little boy off to school on his first day." She said.

"What an appropriate comparison Vi." James snorted.

"Look, again if you're worried about her and Kayn, I already told you there's nothing-"

"I know Vi, I know." James said waving off her repeat. "You don't have to state the obvious. I guess I bit off more than I could chew when I said she should be more independent."

"Eh, don't worry about that." Vi said. "But try to look at it this way; you want her to become more independent, look what's happened since. She's in a band now, seeing someone, hell she's drinking with one of the greatest heavy metal bands in the world!" She exclaimed.

James had to agree. He had to accept that he'd live up to his word. Akali was clingy when this first started, and now it seemed like the roles had been reversed.

"Hey, you thirsty?" Vi asked deviously.

James looked at her. "What're you getting at?". Vi gave him a cheeky grin, opening her coat to reveal a flask in a pocket. James groaned as Vi snickered. "Really?"

The pinkette took a short swig, barring her teeth as the alcohol burned her throat. "What? It's straight-up Jack. Burns good. I'll share." She said hoping to tempt him.

"I'll pass but thank you regardless."

"More for me then."

Meanwhile, the K/DA had arrived where Pentakill currently was. Ahri said they wanted to keep their approach subtle and preferably surprise the group. The blonde walked up behind a red-haired woman who was between a large man and a woman with punk-style hair.

The blonde put her hands over the woman's eyes, the person's mouth parting, but no words came out.

"Guess who." Ahri giggled.

The blonde, punk-haired woman turned around at the sound of the voice, her dark lips forming a wide grin as she raised her drink.

"Ahri! Glad you could make it!" She cheered.

"What's going on Kayle?" Kai'sa hollered. "The party crews here!"

Kayle laughed as Ahri removed her hands from Sona's eyes, the red-haired woman turning with a smile and harmless glare. The man next to her, Mordekaiser, waved to the four members of K/DA.

"Oh hell yeah! Now it's a party!" Pentakill's drummer Olaf cheered. This earned some soft jeers from the party-goers. "Guys, you know that's not what I meant."

"How you lovely gals doing?" Kayle asked standing up and giving Ahri a hug. Kai'sa eagerly accepted the gesture too, but Evelynn simply shook hands. Akali was speechless.

"We're doing alright." Ahri replied. "We're fantastic now that we're with you guys."

"I'll drink to that." Yorick said raising his almost empty glass. Olaf copied his action as Mordekaiser made some room for their arrived friends, Sona giving her assistance.

"Come and join us." Kayle said greeting them into the area. "We've got a lot, and I mean a lot of catching up to do.

When the three members passed her, Kayle realized she'd forgotten about their newest, fourth member. The female vocalist looked at Akali, putting on a friendly smile and approaching her. Akali wasn't frozen thankfully.

"Oh sorry, didn't see you there." Kayle apologized. "Hey, you're K/DA's newest member, right? Akali?"

"Um… yes I am." Akali slowly said. "Why… have you heard things about me?" She said as a joke.

Kayle scoffed. "Well I can't say I've heard but… I've seen things about you." She smiled.

Akali's eyes enlarged. "You have?!"

"Yes I have." Kayle answered. She put her arm around Akali, leading the rapper to join them. "Come on, I'll tell you about it all after you meet everyone. We don't bite you know."

Akali smiled. The rapper saw Kai'sa had taken a seat with Olaf and Yorick as Ahri sat beside Sona and Mordekaiser. Evelynn was in an unoccupied couch, looking at Kayle who had her arm on Akali.

"Nice to see you've both met." Evelynn commented. Kayle seated herself next to Evelynn with Akali. "Kayle, is Karthus around?"

"Oh uh, he's just at the bar getting us some drinks. Seems to be talking with Sarah from the looks of it." She said pointing.

Evelynn's mouth frowned. Sarah Fortune was here? Why the hell was that skank at every damn meeting or social event Evelynn went to?!

The diva glanced over to see, indeed, Karthus talking with Sarah Fortune at the bar. She resisted her next exhale coming out as a huff.

"Okay, so guys, forgive me for shifting the topic, but I have to know." Kai'sa said leaning forward to Mordekaiser and Sona, everyone's eyes on her. "Mordekaiser… Sona… are you two… a thing?"

Sona almost spat out her drink, earning chuckles from her bandmates as Mordekaiser's brow rose. Sona's face matched her hair color, and Mordekaiser cleared his throat deeply.

"Well… to answer that question truthfully…" The guitarist drew out, feeling a bit warm.

"Drawing it out answers the question Morde." Olaf commented, a snicker going around.

Mordekaiser was about to speak, but Sona put her hand on him to halt his words. The woman stared at Kai'sa tensely, beginning to do signs with her hands and mouthing each word. Kai'sa was experienced with sign language so it wasn't a problem.

"To answer your question Kai'sa, me and Mordekaiser are dating. It may not look good in public eyes, but I know for a fact if I had the option to go back to the night where we first kissed, I'd have changed nothing. Nothing at all."

Sona finished with a firm stare, crossing her arms over her chest as Mordekaiser looked at Kai'sa.

"So that's a resounding yes." He commented, a deep chuckle as Sona put her smaller hand in his, squeezing it tightly.

"Alright then, case closed on that." Kai'sa said clapping her hands once. "Now the more important question is how have you guys been?"

"Why don't we get you all some drinks first?" Kayle suggested. "I certainly need a refill on mine."

"Oh hell yeah!" Olaf exclaimed. "Hey Kai'sa, want to have another go at who can drink who under the table?"

Kai'sa grinned deviously at the challenge. "You're on big guy!"

"Try not to get too tipsy you two." Evelynn advised. "Remember last time? Kai'sa was throwing up for hours."

"Okay mom!" Kai'sa sarcastically replied. The dancer followed Olaf and Yorick to the bar to get some drinks, leaving only two fully occupied couches behind.

Kayle cleared her throat, standing up from the couch and doing a stretch. She turned around to Akali. "Forgive me Akali for my bandmates rudeness. A person with your credentials deserves to be recognized by the members of the greatest heavy metal band in the world!" She said loudly, peering to Mordekaiser and Sona who'd been chatting with Ahri. They turned to the sound, seeing Kayle crossing her arms and peering over her shoulder.

Akali cleared her throat, feeling like she'd drawn unwanted attention to herself without doing anything. She stood up.

"Sorry I should've been more open." She said extending her hand to Mordekaiser and Sona. "Hi, I'm Akali. Newest member of K/DA. Nice to meet you two."

Sona smiled, shaking Akali's hand and doing more hand signs. "Nice to see you again Akali." She recognized Akali when she was the DJ at the house party.

"You're the rapper, right?" Mordekaiser asked. "The one Kayle's been talking about?"

"Apparently I am." Akali chuckled. "I didn't know someone like Kayle would've taken such an interest in my music."

"Don't be too sure." Sona signed. "I saw your moves at the house party. Remember that? You were on fire!"

"She couldn't stop telling me about it for hours on end." Mordekaiser added, earning a sweet smile from Sona.

"Think you'll be doing any of that tonight? I'd love to see that." Kayle said leaning closer to the rapper who smiled.

"Hey Kayle, remember personal space?" Mordekaiser said.

Akali didn't have a problem with the proximity. "If I have enough drinks you may just get your wish."

"Now, now darling," Evelynn's voice cut in. "Don't want to get too ahead of yourself now remember?"

Akali nearly rolled her eyes at the buzzkill. Kayle chuckled and gave the girl space. "I like you Akali, you're alright."

"What gave you the impression she wasn't?" Ahri asked joining in.

"Probably because I'm still in the group sweetie." Evelynn said, earning a laugh from each of the present members.

A rambunctious feminine laugh caught the groups attention. Evelynn knew it was Sarah Fortune, but she smiled when seeing Karthus in tow with her. Pentakill's lead vocalist gave the diva a wave and she returned it.

"Well look who decided to join us." Miss Fortune said taking a seat. She didn't sit with Evelynn thank the Gods.

"The only K-Pop group I'll ever enjoy." Karthus teasingly said, taking a seat next to Evelynn who made space for him. He had a glass of wine in his other hand, offering Evelynn it with her aweing at his generosity.

"Why thank you Karthus dear. Suppose I'll have to buy you one in return."

"No thanks, I don't drink wine." Karthus joked, earning a laugh from the diva who swatted him. He glanced over to Akali, knowing she was the newest member of K/DA. His hand reached out over Evelynn with a welcoming gesture. "Hi, I'm Karthus, and you are…?"

"Akali." The rapper replied shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you Mr. Karthus."

"Just call me Karthus please." He said. "All my friends call me that." Akali grinned.

Kai'sa with Olaf and Yorick in tow finally returned with drinks for their friends. She handed Akali a margarita despite the rapper not asking for any form of drink. Akali accepted it and watched as the group dove into various conversations. She was encouraged to talk as well, mostly from Karthus and Kayle as Yorick and Olaf were busy chatting it up with Kai'sa. Mordekaiser and Sona were occupied with Ahri's questions about their relationship, one assuming she was doing it out of her feelings toward her bodyguard Shen.

Speaking of that, Akali remembered why she'd come here other than to meet Pentakill.

Kayn said he'd be here and that he wouldn't be bartending. The rapper elevated herself from the seating, looking at the bar with the assumption he'd be there as a guest. Sadly there was no sign of him, and Akali was oblivious to the calling of her name from Sarah Fortune.

"Hey Akali. Sweetie. Your ears working?"

"Huh?" Akali turned around.

Miss Fortune chuckled. "You seem to be looking for someone sweetie. Looking out for a hottie to take home?"

"If she is she can just look right here." Kayle said with finger guns toward herself. This earnt a hearty laugh from Sarah and scoff from Karthus. Evelynn almost spat out her drink.

"W-What?!" Akali blushed.

"It's okay I'm kidding, or maybe I'm not." Kayle gasped with fake shock.

"Okay Kayle simmer down." Karthus said. "Sorry Akali she tends to get a little too friendly when she's had more than two drinks."

"Hey, don't blow my mojo!" Kayle playfully exclaimed.

Akali merely giggled. She liked that Kayle was being friendly. "So Kayle, since you've seen my work, what was your most favorite of them all?" She asked.

Kayle held up her index finger, taking a large gulp of her beverage to everyone's amazement. The woman put it down, taking in a deep breath. She turned to Akali with a tipsy look. "Lone Digger." She answered, holding up her finger again as she burped. "And… let me tell you something, rap? Really ain't my thing. Neon colors simulated as blood? I dig it."

Akali leaned back from the alcohol on the woman's breath. Karthus looked at her with a concerned look as Evelynn became cautious. The female vocalist had her own question now. "Now, I have a question for you. That guy who was in the video with you; who is he?"

Sarah spoke first. "This is going to sound crazy, but that guy's Evelynn's bodyguard now!" She blurted. Karthus and Kayle looked at her with their brows raised as Akali's eyes widened. Evelynn looked with a small glower.

"How… how'd you know that?" Akali asked.

Miss Fortune chuckled seductively. "Akali sweetie, I've seen most of your videos to get a feeling of your style for the hit single." She said. "And it seems like Mr. Holland there is your partner in a good portion of them. I eventually knew it was him. Such a handsome face is hard to miss. I trust you won't be offended to learn I've been hitting on him?"

Akali, and Evelynn, were both red now. Akali was red out of embarrassment and wasn't sure if she should feel offended about her brother being in the sights of this lusty, not to mention busty woman. Surely if she'd already done it, they'd be a thing right? Who could resist this woman's charms?

Evelynn, on the other hand, was red out of pure jealousy and rage. She'd confessed her feelings for James already and he did the same for her. There's no way he'd eventually cave into this woman's advances. Right?

"Wait a minute, Evelynn has a bodyguard?" Kayle asked.

The diva choked out a scoff. "Is this really something that needs to be a topic of discussion?"

"If it turns you into a tomato maybe." Miss Fortune snorted.

Evelynn could feel her blood boiling now. Anything this skanky redhead would say or do would push Evelynn to the edge of snapping.

"I always knew you'd be generous enough to have someone assigned to a position." Karthus said, a friendly chuckle as Evelynn shrugged.

Akali rid the knowledge of Miss Fortune crushing on James, and saw a waitress approaching with a fresh margarita. The rapper's brows rose when they offered it.

"Is this for me? I didn't order one."

"It's paid for." The waitress replied. "Courtesy of that man at the bar." She pointed.

Akali wondered who would do the generous act, but her mouth gaped when seeing who the buyer was.

She could see Kayn sitting at the bar, wearing a dark blazer with same colored trousers. Her heart started to race as butterflies flooded her interior. The rapper took the drink, taking a large gulp from it.

"Whoa there darling, slow it down a bit." Evelynn said.

"You going somewhere Akali?" Kayle asked.

"Umm… y-yes." Akali stammered. "I have to meet… someplace-"

"I think she's seeing the son of Syndra over at the bar there." Sarah commented sarcastically.

Akali's eyes widened, but she said no more. Kayle looked over to the bar, and mildly frowned while clenching her hands. The rapper took a defiant breath, excusing herself from the group as she probably wouldn't be returning for a while.

Evelynn watched her leave with an admirable smirk. The diva then glanced over to where James and Vi were, wondering if he'd seen where she was heading. The diva turned her stare to Miss Fortune who was… also looking at James. The redhead sipped her drink, seductively narrowing her eyes at Evelynn's bodyguard.

The magenta-haired woman fought back her jealously.

James and Vi remained in their position. The man was still offered some of Vi's flask, but he turned it down again. Caitlyn continued to survey the room. James occasionally looked over to where the K/DA and Pentakill were at. He recognized the red hair of Sarah Fortune who, coincidentally, looked at him. He had a feeling she was sending flirtish gestures.

His attention shifted when Akali sprang up and left the group. His eyes glued on her and he looked ahead when she headed for the bar.

A handsome young man was there. His stomach clenched, feeling like that was Kayn. James had to be mature though, and he let it go. That still didn't stop him from nudging Vi.

"On second thought can I have some of that Vi?"

"Sure!" She gladly said, handing him the flask. "What made you change your mind?"

James didn't reply, but Vi had a hunch as to what it was. The pinkette looked to the bar, picking out Kayn and saw Akali heading for him. She smiled inwardly but gave James a few back pats as he took in a large swig.

"Hey, I still want some of that." She pointed out.

"Sorry." James winced from the burn in his throat. "Blacked out there for a second."

Just as he handed the flask back to Vi, a hand snatched it away. Both turned to see none other than the K/DA's manager Culda standing between them, her face glowering.

"Drinking on the job?" She asked coyly. She sniffed the flask, a hum of discovery. "Hard to blame you." The manager gulped down what was left in the flask, Vi sighing and not making a fuss as Culda chugged it down like a champion. She pushed the flask against Vi's chest, the pinkette glaring as she took it back. "Thanks."

Culda walked to the bar, Vi and James completely wordless.

"That's a bomb waiting to go off I'm telling ya." Vi murmured.

"Let's hope it doesn't until after the party."

Kayn would be lying if he didn't feel a tad nervous when he requested the waitress to send the drink to Akali. He'd seen her before getting to the bar and he knew the gesture would be a good touch. He resisted the urge to see what Akali had done afterward.

"GOTCHA!"

The young man flinched, having been taken off-guard which was very rare for him. Kayn heard that delightful giggle that belonged to none other than Akali. He turned with a smile, seeing the rapper holding the drink he'd bought.

"Congratulations, you managed to catch me by surprise." Kayn sarcastically said.

"Aw, you gonna be gloomy all night because of that?" Akali asked smugly.

"No, but I will be if you don't thank me for that drink." Kayn replied pointing at the half-full beverage. "Which from the looks of it, my hypothesis was correct."

Akali narrowed her eyes, feeling his smile bring out the shyness within. "What're you talking about?"

"About drinking becoming a bad habit." He referred to their encounter when Vi got his number. "But then again, it is Pentakill so that's a good excuse."

Akali chuckled. She decided to take another long gulp from her glass. Kayn's brows rose. "Are you really concerned about that, or are you just nervous that I can hold my alcohol better?" She challenged playfully.

Kayn laughed, patting the seat next to him that Akali gladly propped herself on. She could smell his fragrance, trying to keep the sound quiet.

"It's good to see you again Akali."

She smiled. "Same to you… Kaynpa-"

"No." Kayn interjected, pointing his finger at her. "Never, ever, ever say that." He menacingly said.

Akali wasn't expecting that. His tone, whether playful or serious, had caused her to freeze… and feel warm deep down. She could see the corner of his smile and Akali put aside her drink, leaning closer.

"And what if I do?" She sensually asked. "What're you gonna do to me if I say it?"

He blinked twice, turning to her with an amused smile. Akali smiled back, eagerly leaning in to hear it fully. Kayn sighed.

"I will grab you by the shoulders, pin you against the wall, and… tickle you."

Akali's brows knitted before feeling devious fingers on her sides, beginning to tickle her silly for a brief time. The rapper squealed and protested as she tried to push him away. Kayn chuckled the whole time and let Akali catch her breath.

"You're such a dork." She teased.

"Am I?" Kayn questioned. "Because what I did have planned for the last part wasn't tickling you know."

The girl's cheeks flared. Akali picked up that alpha-like tone in Kayn's voice. Her mouth twitched a smile. "And w-what was that… exactly."

He chuckled again, Akali, in her current state, feeling like her nose would burst with blood if he kept doing that. Kayn leaned closer, cupping her warm cheeks.

"I don't think right now is the best setting to say." He answered. "So I'll do this instead."

Akali felt him pull her mouth into his, the girl's eyes wide for a second before closing blissfully. Despite the public setting, Akali didn't shy away. Kayn's tongue explored her mouth, deeply and sensually. Akali felt her shoulders lower, her hands mindlessly going to Kayn's neck to tell him to stay that way. Their heads tilted and moved with their tongues, Kayn being the more dominant one as Akali surrendered herself in this situation.

She decided to put one hand in his hair, the locks soft and silky like she expected. She pulled herself further into him with earnest, Kayn putting his hand on her back as Akali arched a little bit.

One thing was for sure: in this relationship, she'd likely be on the bottom.

And she was okay with that.

Their make-out ended, Akali catching her breath with Kayn smirking. She was still red, and Akali seemed to shrink to hide herself. "W-What was that for?"

"A way of showing my appreciation." He answered. "After all you did ditch Pentakill and your bandmates to come see me, no? Figured I'd make it worthwhile."

Akali smiled, knowing she should stop being so shy. "Can we… do that again?"

He leaned closer again. "Of course."

"If you two do, you may want to charge the other patrons for watching. An interesting show." A deep, intimidating voice said.

Both looked toward the bar, seeing a man with white-hair and blood-red eyes standing there. He wore a grey vest tuxedo with a red button shirt underneath. He glanced up from the glass he was cleaning. Kayn's smile began disappearing.

"Oh we're, um I'm sorry!" Akali exclaimed, feeling like every eye in the room was on her. That wasn't the case at all.

The bartender chuckled. "I didn't say that to make you uncomfortable. I was merely stating a fact." He said gesturing to the patrons which included a tipsy Culda.

"YO AKALI!" A familiar, rather slurred voice called. Akali and Kayn glanced back to see her bandmates group together with Pentakill for a group photo. Kai'sa was waving her down. "Come get in this picture with us!"

The rapper liked the idea, feeling a little uncomfortable in the present with the bartender's words. She looked at Kayn, and without hesitation, gave him a sloppy kiss on the lips. Kayn chuckled, kissing her back as Akali bolted from the bar, leaving Kayn alone temporarily.

The smile he had when watching Akali leave vanished, the young man turning to the bartender who had his arms crossed, meekly smirking.

"I'm almost offended you didn't introduce me to your girlfriend Kayn."

Kayn rolled his eyes. "I didn't think that was something you liked, Zed."

Zed scoffed. "Kayn, we've been over this; just call me father. You don't have to call me dad."

The young man exhaled. "I prefer to call you Zed, because referring to you as a father sounds a little far-fetched to me."

Zed's brow rose. "Is that an attempt to get a rise out of me?"

"What're you doing here?" Kayn asked.

"Is it really difficult to believe the studio requested my services for this party?" Zed asked gesturing around.

"At this moment, yes." Kayn replied. "You don't seem to be doing a lot of bartending now. Gonna call it a night?"

The man sighed. "Kayn, I know you don't like it when your mother and myself take interest in your personal life."

"Probably because the only time you two do is when I see someone." Kayn spat. "And you both always end up scaring them off."

Zed's smirk vanished. "Do you really believe I do that?"

Kayn rolled his eyes. "Well with who you married I don't think it's an invalid reason. You want me to end up marrying someone as controlling as Syndra?"

"It's unwise to speak of your mother like that Kayn." Zed advised.

"Why? Is she here at the party too?"

"No." Zed stated deeply. "I thought we raised you better than this."

The young man had been looking at Akali again, but when hearing those words, he turned to Zed in the blink of an eye. Most people would've flinched, but Zed didn't. He returned the stare to his son. Neither of them spoke, everything becoming tone-deaf to their ears, even the music.

Kayn took his beer, not wishing to be at the bar anymore. He looked over at Akali who was still smiling as they took a group photo, seeing that Kayle was kissing her cheek for one snap. Kayn swirled his drink, taking a long gulp that finished off the drink. He placed it back down, his face feeling warm as Zed rose a brow. The young man got off the barstool.

"Kayn." Zed said, more emotion in his voice. The young man looked at his father. "Please know that whatever you may think of me and your mother in this instance, know that we will always care about you, and that we only want what's best for you."

Those words were thoughtful, but to Kayn, they were a futile attempt to make him comfortable and trusting of them. The young man gave a nod and walked to the dance floor as Zed shook his head. A slurred exclamation from Culda shifted his attention.

James had been watching the bar since Akali had taken her seat next to Kayn. He'd inhaled sharply when seeing the man abruptly kiss Akali, wondering if she was into it. Akali would've done something if it wasn't consensual and seeing her talk or laugh with Kayn made his stomach churn.

Shortly after however, he realized just how ironic he was being. He was in a secret relationship with Evelynn, and Akali was in a public relationship with Kayn. James chuckled again.

"What's so funny now?" Vi asked keenly interested.

"Have you been waiting for me to chuckle again all this time?"

"Yes. What else can I do?" Vi countered. "Now you gonna tell me what's funny?"

James shook his head. "You wouldn't get it."

Vi shrugged, choosing to look at the group again with Akali being the person the pinkette was aiming to find. She found the rapper in the middle of yet another group photo, her big smile staying there even after the camera snapped. This brought a smile to her and Vi nudged James, gesturing him to look at what was happening.

"Look how happy she is James." Vi encouraged.

James smiled, but not as much as Vi had. "Yeah, she's living the dream."

"Again, remember, it wouldn't have happened without you buddy." Vi continued, putting her arm on his shoulder to bring him close. "Her being here, in this very studio, in this very situation, wouldn't have happened without you. Remember that James."

His smile grew. "And without you, she wouldn't have found someone who seems to like her as much as she likes him."

Vi didn't detect any accusation or resentment in James's words. It made her laugh and she brought him even closer. "There's the James I know!"

Afterward, she moved her arm up to put him in a headlock, James grunting as Vi gave him a brief noogie. James freed himself and kiddingly hit Vi who snickered.

"Kids, play nice." An accented voice said.

Both saw Caitlyn standing in front, arms crossed with an elevated brow and mildly concerned expression. Vi snickered again.

"It's okay Cupcake, just a little roughhousing is all. What's up?"

Caitlyn sighed. "I don't know why I'm telling you this, but you may wish to direct your attention to the dance floor. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised to see who's there." She knowingly smirked.

James rose a brow and Vi smirked. She looked at the dance floor, seeing the man whose number she'd given to Akali. The Pinkett's eyes lit up delightfully and thanked Caitlyn. As the woman took her leave, Vi gave her a playful pat on the butt with Caitlyn shooting a glare at Vi who winked. James saw Kayn as well, and he gave Vi a knowing stare.

"So what're you gonna do?" He asked. "You going to drag Akali out on the floor and force them to dance?"

He was given a cheeky smile from Vi. The pinkette knew she shouldn't do this, but when she heard the loud suggestion from Kai'sa that they should dance with Kayle's enthusiastic agreement, the woman had her work cut out for her.

"Excuse me a sec, I'll be right back."

James watched her leave, seemingly sneaking to where the music for the room was being controlled from. He looked back to the mixed group of heavy metal and K-Pop band members making their way to the floor with the platformers making way for their idols.

"Alright Akali, I want to see those moves Sona couldn't stop talking about!" Kayle whooped. "Or signing I guess."

"Funny." Sona gestured.

Akali giggled, a little tipsy, but also behaving herself. The rapper remembered about going back to Kayn, and coincidentally she saw him on the floor.

"BABE!" She squealed.

For the second time tonight, Kayn flinched again. Akali threw herself at him, Kayn's brows high but he captured her in his arms.

"Are you alright?" Kayn asked unamused. "How much have you had to drink?"

She heard the distress in his voice instead of his smooth, rather sharp voice. Akali looked at him with worry. "Sorry did I do something wrong?"

Just like that, the troublesome feeling in Kayn vanished. Akali looked at him with eyes equal to a puppy. A smile was drawn on him, and he shook his head. "No, it's nothing you did. Sorry."

Akali pouted. "So it's something someone else did?" She asked. "Who are they? I'll make sure they pay for making you sad!"

Her childish assumption made Kayn chuckle, and Akali stopped pouting as that familiar red appeared on her skin. She realized he still had his hands on her… above the curve of her ass.

"You gonna let me go now?" She purred.

"I could, but I don't think you want that." Kayn answered. Akali giggled.

"Well no offence but I'd like to see him let you go!" Kayle's voice sounded. "Wanna see you work that cute butt of yours!"

Akali's brows came together as she glanced at Kayle who quickly blushed. Karthus and Evelynn were staring at her with the others too busy dancing to notice. Kayn looked at her too and Akali looked back to him.

"I think she likes you." Kayn said. "A lot."

"You're not jealous, are you?" Akali asked huskily, not bothering to deny his words.

Kayn narrowed his eyes. "Why would I be jealous in this present situation?" He asked. "Especially when I can do this?"

Akali felt his hands slide down her back, and then, they grabbed her butt. Akali's chest puffed out when she felt her soft cheeks fill his hands, Kayn keeping them there as he pulled her closer till their noses touched. Akali's eyes were wide, her lips quivering with her whole body on fire.

She then grinned, grasping his scalp as Kayn narrowed his eyes. Akali didn't care about the show they were putting on for the others.

"You're crazy." She whispered.

"If I am, then it's all because of you." He replied. "And I don't think you'd want me any other way."

Akali shakily chuckled, her nerves tingling as her blood boiled with embarrassment and excitement. "It's so nice knowing you're a daring boy who has a good taste in music." She cooed, attempting to be seductive. It made him laugh.

"Really?" Kayn sarcastically asked. "Is it better than my hands on your butt?"

The rapper snorted, and Kayn chose to give her some room. Akali laughed for a little, looking to see everyone was still dancing with Kayle choosing to watch with a glass of water. Evelynn wasn't dancing to Akali's surprise. In fact, she couldn't be seen anywhere on the dance floor. The girl turned to Kayn again who'd started to briefly dance.

"So, you gonna show off some of those moves I missed during the house-party?" He asked as Akali followed his rhythm.

"I could, I could…" Akali drew out.

Just at that moment, the music that was presently playing was shut off. The party-goers jeered at the sudden change, but it soon came back with a new song. Kayn instantly recognized the intro of it. Regardless it was a tad different from the previous songs and he looked over to the set, seeing a familiar pinkette there and staring at him with two thumbs up. He wanted to roll his eyes indefinitely, but the music and current situation was too perfect.

"What's up?" Akali asked.

"I think we're gonna have to pay back Vi for this one." Kayn said.

Akali looked to where he gestured and saw her bodyguard Vi. She nearly did what Kayn did, but instead, in a rush of excitement, decided to get closer to him, a sweet smile on her.

"Then let's not disappoint."

Kayn's eyes widened as Akali took his hand and chose to lead.

Looking in your eyes I see a paradise, This world that I've found is too good to be true, Standing here beside you, want so much to give you, This love in my heart that I'm feeling for you

Kayn was impressed. He chose to let Akali do her thing. Their right hands stayed connected as she performed a few dance moves before abruptly whirling herself into his chest, her back feeling those lovely pectorals. She gave him a sexy yet toothy grin as she pressed her butt against his waist, Kayn's amusement growing.

Let 'em say we're crazy, I don't care about that, Put your hand in my hand baby don't ever look back, Let the world around us just fall apart, Baby we can make it if we're heart to heart

She felt his arms wrap around her tummy, Akali looking down at them and narrowing her eyes back at him. She kept moving her body to the rhythm with Kayn's. He kept the excitement of her butt against his waist minimum.

And we can build this thing together, Standing strong forever, Nothing's gonna stop us now, And if this world runs out of lovers, We'll still have each other, Nothing's gonna stop us, Nothing's gonna stop us now

Whistles and cheers were heard nearby, Akali briefly observing and seeing that some people, including members of Pentakill and her own bandmates weren't dancing anymore.

"Show 'em that dragon within Akali!" Kai'sa's voice shouted.

"Make that pretty boy know he's lucky!" Kayle exclaimed.

The whistles and cheers inspired Akali greatly. She'd up the ante very soon.

James had been enjoying the time to himself since Vi left. He didn't even bother thinking about Akali and Kayn. His attention had changed when the music abruptly cut out and came back on. Vi must've been successful with her plan. As the song went on, he heard whistling from the dance floor and saw what the commotion was all about.

His eyes looked bored and he meekly smiled as he saw Akali get down with Kayn. Some sparks of resentment were harbored, but James didn't let those get to him. What he was curious about now was the lack of Evelynn's presence.

That's when a warm aura reached his right, and James barely turned his head to see his client Evelynn.

"Hey you." He said.

"James darling," Evelynn purred. "I've missed you."

"Likewise. So what're you doing here?" James asked. "I thought you'd be on the dance floor."

"Didn't want to steal the spotlight from Akali and Kayn. Evelynn replied. "Drawn quite a crowd." James hummed in agreement. Evelynn looked at him, brow raised. "You're not going to growl to yourself?"

"Am I really that bad?"

"Well you seemed to disapprove of their relationship earlier. Figured this would drive you crazy." She commented.

"And you came here to calm me down?" James joked. Evelynn giggled and shook her head.

"No darling, you just looked lonely. Where's Vi?"

"Who do you think changed the song?" James asked.

"I should've known." Evelynn chuckled. "I almost wish I was out there. Love this song."

"Then go out there." James gestured, ignoring her query from before.

Evelynn cooed, throwing her head back in distress. "Oh but darling… I can't do it alone. I only wanna do it with you."

He uttered a sound of amusement. "I'd like that too…"

His voice held disappointment. It made Evelynn's heart wrench. She still hadn't gotten used to that and her distressful sound caught his concern.

"What's wrong?" James asked.

"Oh darling," Evelynn sighed. "There's so, so many things I want to do with you in public. But sadly, all of them would have dire consequences."

"Implying that what we're in right now doesn't have that?" James lightheartedly asked.

He could be silly sometimes. It made Evelynn grin and her cheeks redden. The diva looked up to him.

"You're good company you know that?" She complimented. "I should've known you'd be different when you resisted that kiss."

James observed the room. This was indeed the same room Kai'sa had taken him to when Akali was being interviewed. "Which couch did that happen on again?"

Evelynn laughed again. She could just stand here for hours and bicker with him on end.

"So what kind of things do you want to do with me in public? If that's okay to ask anyway." James asked, making Evelynn smirk now. The diva wondered if she should entertain the idea. She simply moved her arm out, hand sprawled for the most cliché yet heartwarming acts.

"Hold my hand sweetie." She offered.

"Wait, really?" James asked. "That's it?"

"That's it." Evelynn repeated.

For a moment James almost scoffed. He didn't do that obviously.

Let 'em say we're crazy, what do they know, Put your arms around me baby don't ever let go, Let the world around us just fall apart, Baby we can make it if we're heart to heart

The song's lyrics were perfectly timed. James moved his hand to Evelynn's, their fingers taking hold of the other in a strong grip. Compared to the things they'd already done, mostly sleeping together, this would've looked like child's play. However, such acts were done in secrecy, and this was sort of the first they'd done in public, apart from that kiss at the nightclub.

Evelynn's heart sank into this feeling. It wasn't much but holding James's hand and not doing it in secrecy, no matter who'd be looking at them, was nice to her. It resurfaced past feelings, both good and bad for the diva. Her grip loosened momentarily, but James brought it back.

For a moment, Evelynn felt like she and James were the only ones in the world.

"Hey handsome." A husky feminine voice purred.

Evelynn blinked and immediately narrowed her eyes. James's head turned left, seeing yet again to his dismay, Miss Sarah Fortune. This woman was certainly persistent. The redhead was holding a cocktail and pint. She seductively smiled when offering him the drink.

"Thirsty?"

"No thanks I'm good." James turned down.

"Aw come on handsome. You could use it. Must be bored, standing here while we lived it up." She continued, getting closer.

"No. Thanks." He firmly ordered.

That nearly made Sarah stop, but she wasn't done yet. She decided to bring out the big guns, literally, by puffing her impressive chest out. Her shirt gave out their shapes flawlessly, and she got closer.

"You sure?"

"Yes Sarah, he's sure."

Miss Fortune blinked, confusion written all over her as a figure appeared from James's side, having been hidden by his body. Sarah's brow rose and she immediately smiled.

"Oh Evelynn, apologies." She laughed. "Didn't see you there."

"Of course you didn't." Evelynn said, keeping her aggressiveness at bay.

"So, are you like his personal bodyguard?" Miss Fortune asked. "Because you seem to be close by whenever I try and make a move on him. Trying to pay him back for his services?" The redhead winked.

"No, I just don't want him to be too busy staring at your chest or that butt of yours when he's working." Evelynn snapped sarcastically.

Sarah leaned back, her hand on her chest. "Oh, feisty. Have you been drinking?" She teased.

Evelynn moved out further, James switching his look between them. The diva smiled sardonically. "Sorry, I tend to get defensive when a person close to me tells another person repeatedly to stop their advances. Wouldn't want it to be non-consensual, now would we?"

Miss Fortune scoffed a laugh. That was a bit much for what she deemed to be harmless flirting. The redhead was going to shoot back, but something caught her eye.

Down low, she could see joined hands that belonged to the two people before her.

James and Evelynn… holding hands. The diva and her bodyguard.

Her azure pupils were big, and then shrunk into a narrow. All the pieces started falling into place based on Sarah's experience.

When Evelynn realized what she'd done without realizing, she snatched her hand away from James's, face coloring like Miss Fortune's hair. The director smugly smiled.

"Oh, I see." She purred. Her thoughts were filled with devious acts and outcomes. But despite that, Miss Fortune took the humane road. "You know Evelynn… if you wanted him all to yourself…" She drew out, playing with her hair. "You just had to say so."

Sarah turned around after, not bothering to wait for a reply. Evelynn was left speechless and James's eyes were wide. He looked to her, expecting words.

"Evelynn?"

"Y-Yes darling?" She stammered, looking at him.

"What's… does she…? Does she know we're…?" He hesitated to say it.

"I don't know sweetie." Evelynn sighed.

James grimaced. Miss Fortune had just seen them holding hands. Alone that didn't sound like something one should dwell over, but the redhead seemed to have a suspicion of Evelynn and James being a thing.

What was more bizarre, and relieving, was that she didn't have a problem with it. At least it seemed that way.

"Sorry about that." Evelynn said rubbing her temple.

"Hey." James caringly said. "It's not that big of a deal. We were just holding hands."

"It's not that darling." The diva distressingly sighed. "It's what if it'd been more? What if we'd been kissing?"

"But that didn't happen."

"But what if it did? What if it was?" Evelynn repeated.

She seemed awfully worrisome over this. James put his hand on her shoulder. Evelynn peered back. "What's wrong Evelynn?"

Pinching her bridges nose, Evelynn slumped her shoulders. "I'm just having doubts. I'm sorry. It's nothing you did."

"I don't care if it's anything I did." James assertively spoke. "All I want to know is if there's anything I can do to fix it."

Evelynn stiffened her stance. The diva breathed deeply, pushing her anxiety aside. She fully turned to him. "If you want to fix it… later tonight… come to my bedroom. I'll tell you then."

The mention of being with her in the bedroom immediately put dirty thoughts in James's mind. However, the sincerity on Evelynn told him different. He solemnly nodded and Evelynn meekly smirked.

An eruption of applause and cheers caused the pair to flinch. The song had ended right on cue. James looked to see what the commotion was about. He merely winced.

Kayn had lifted Akali up in his arms, the rapper staring deeply into his before they closed in for a kiss.

James kept staring, breathing steadily as he slowly began to accept this part of Akali.

Vi watched with satisfaction written all over her. She'd seen the whole thing with those two. The effects from her flask must've amplified her proudness in this situation. The moment she turned, the pinkette was met with the beautiful face of Caitlyn, the head of security's hands on her hips. Vi stumbled backward, quickly smiling. Caitlyn rose a brow, stepping closer.

"Hey Cupcake." She shamefacedly greeted.

"What're you doing Vi?" Caitlyn questioned exasperated

Vi simply raised her arms in a shrug. She'd been caught red-handed. "What's it look like? Bringing people together. It brought you here didn't it?"

"So I see." Caitlyn replied. She stepped closer. For a moment Caitlyn looked at the two so-called lovebirds Kayn and Akali. A soft chuckle escaped her lips, Vi looking at her surprised. "You know, I'm beginning to see why you like doing that."

Pushing her luck, Vi marched to Caitlyn, her breasts meekly touching Caitlyn's as the woman sighed.

"So why are you here Cupcake? I know it's not to tell me to get back to work." She purred.

Caitlyn was going to answer but picked up the distinguished smell of alcohol on Vi's breath. She coughed.

"Is that straight-up Jack?" She asked.

Vi shrunk back. She'd really pushed her luck. "Um, yes?"

Caitlyn chortled. "Well don't be shy then, let me have some of that." She said taking hold of Vi's chin and pressing her lips against the astonished Pinkett's. The last thing Vi thought of was why Caitlyn was kissing her but managed to taste some heavy liquor on the woman's breath. Vi didn't question why, she just focused on this.

"I told you I wanted to finish that!" Akali kiddingly spat at Kayn. The young man smugly smirked.

"I can understand, but can you really blame me?" He asked. "The crowd was eating you up so much. I figured putting my own spin on things would spice things up."

"He's got a point Akali!" Kai'sa said. "That ending was the damn icing on the cake!"

"Almost reminds me of my younger days." Karthus mused.

"Ew." Kai'sa commented. Karthus snickered.

"You're such a prude." Akali stuck her tongue out at Kayn.

"You might want to keep that tongue inside." Kayn scolded. "You may just intrigue me to capture it with my own."

The rapper's smiled turned sinister. She chose to stick her tongue out again, then pulled back, then again. Kayn didn't try anything, but Akali kept it up.

She let her guard down when Kayn grabbed her butt, her tongue out a second longer, but that's all he needed. His kissed her sloppily at first but mustered his control and it became smooth. Akali protested but fought back willingly as they messily made out. The others chose to ignore it best they could.

"Cheater." Akali accused.

"All's fair in love and war." Kayn snickered.

"You two want your own spot at the bar?" Mordekaiser asked. "It might be for the best."

"Why?" Akali retorted. "Would it cramp you and Sona's style?"

Sona blushed and Mordekaiser cleared his throat. Akali and Kayn laughed together, deciding to take a seat on the far side of the bar.

"So what'll it be?" The bartender asked, Kayn mentally relieved it wasn't Zed this time. He saw the man at the far end with the K/DA's manager Culda.

"Two Margaritas." Kayn answered.

Akali shifted her eyes to him. She was a little surprised. "A Margarita? You like those?"

"No, but I'm a little tired of pints." Kayn answered.

"Hmm. I bet you could jump back there and whip us up something amazing." Akali suggested, pointing to the bar.

"No thanks." Kayn shook his head. "I happen to like my job. And being behind the bar while intoxicated isn't a good idea."

Akali giggled. "Are you really that bad? Suppose I can hold my liquor better than you."

Kayn gave her a look that asked if she really wanted to go there. Akali giggled again, feeling her cheeks redden as Kayn inched closer to her in his seat. The rapper made a sound of comfort, and Kayn planted his hand on her shoulder.

"I just wanted to say thanks. Thanks for making this night so amazing." He genuinely said.

"I feel I should be thanking you." Akali cooed. "Putting up with me. Also the nights not over yet sexy."

"Nonsense, you're an outstanding, daring girl."

Akali proudly giggled. "I suppose I am. Think you'll show me some moves that don't involve dancing anytime soon?"

Kayn raised a brow. Her voice had lowered to a seductive level and he had a hunch of what she was referring to. The man wouldn't leave her hanging.

"Maybe we'll find out… After Saturdays date of course."

Akalis eyes lit up. She'd forgotten about their date Saturday. That almost made her jump out of the chair with joy. Their drinks arrived and both took one. However, before Kayn could drink his, he felt discomfort.

"Sorry, excuse me for a moment, need to use the restroom." He said getting up.

"No problem, just hurry back!" Akali said, Kayn giving her cheek a peck before leaving.

Akali put her hand over the area, feeling like a teenager as she savored the warmth in that area. She took another taste of her drink, observing the others at the bar. Kai'sa was between Yorick and Olaf who listened attentively to the dancer's stories. Ahri and Kayle were chatting it up as Sona and Mordekaiser were close together, the mute pianist seemingly gesturing suggestive scenarios for the guitarist from the way he hunched. Karthus was engrossed with a conversation with the newly arrived Sarah Fortune. Akali looked at the bar opposite of her, still seeing a tipsy Culda talking with the bartender who'd interrupted her and Kayn's make-out.

She was enjoying herself. Akali could really get used to this. She didn't even think about what James was doing right now.

"He's cute, isn't he?" A new voice asked.

Akali was startled for a moment, turning her gaze right and seeing a woman in a leather trench coat sitting at the edge of the bar's corner. Akali hadn't a clue she was there, nor how long she'd even been there. It took a moment for her to register the woman's features. Her hair was long, silky and snow-white, eyes eerily yet alluringly purple. The rapper swore she'd seen this person before, but she couldn't pinpoint it yet.

"Sorry, didn't mean to startle you." The woman said.

"H-How long have you been there?" Akali asked.

"Not long. I took a seat after that handsome man you were with went to the washroom though." She teasingly said.

Akali hummed. She could feel some defense rising with this woman seemingly setting her eyes on Kayn. Looked a little old for him though. Early to mid-thirties maybe.

"Well I'm sorry to disappoint you but, me and him are dating at the moment." Akali calmly stated.

The woman's brow rose. "Oh forgive me! I'm so sorry I don't want you thinking I have my eyes on him. Was just stating the truth though; he's truly handsome." She repeated.

Akali eased down. The bartender who'd served her and Kayn brought the woman a glass of red wine. She observed it and daintily drank.

"It's refreshing to see a young woman quickly assume someone else is looking to snatch her hubby from her. Tells you she's really into him." The woman commented.

Akali sighed. This woman was being a nuisance. Normally she'd engage in conversation, but the liquor she'd consumed hindered that.

"Yep, I guess."

"You guess?" The woman said like she didn't hear that correctly.

"Look, I don't want to be rude, but I'm not really comfortable talking with you about my love life." Akali explained.

The woman frowned. She drank again, not backing down yet. "I apologize if I'm being somewhat intrusive. It's just when I see two young lovers who are clearly right for one another, I can't help but to satisfy my curiosity. Two good looking people like you and him; you've clearly got some things planned or the bed, no?" She grinned.

Akali choked on her drink, but no fluid spilled out. The woman chuckled deeply and Akali glared at her. "What did you say?"

"I really don't wish to repeat myself." The woman replied. "I don't know how you do it; shamelessly expressing your love for him in public. It's something I wish I could do so easily."

Narrowing her eyes, the rapper debated if that was supposed to be some sort of compliment. "What do you mean by that?" She asked with soft hostility.

"Before you jump to conclusions, it's a compliment." The woman said putting her hands up. She then chuckled. "I'm married sweetie, and me and my husband well… we've both seem to have lost our flame. The night when we first met… I thought that would burn forever. I can accept the publicity part, but… in the bedroom it's become dreary." She sighed.

Akali didn't know why, but her sympathetic side suddenly had a strong presence. She saw the woman pinched her bridges nose, drinking from her wine.

"I'm sorry… I didn't mean to come off as rude." Akali apologized.

"No, no it's okay." The woman said. "I shouldn't put you in that spotlight."

The rapper grimaced. Her sympathy had been boosted from her inebriation. Akali reached for the woman's hand, catching her attention. The woman looked at her with minor surprise, but Akali's smile made her copy it.

"Look, if you want… I could share brief details of what I'd like to do in private with him… long as you keep it to yourself and your husband." Akali offered.

The woman smiled, pretending to zip her mouth shut. Akali took one more sip.

"So… if I have to be honest, and please know that this is up for debate," Akali cleared. "In the bedroom… with Kayn… I'd like to think that there'd be a lot, and I'm talking a lot of… heh, bondage." She giggled.

Akali saw the woman merely nod before asking. "What kind of bondage? Like you being bounded, or him?"

Her cheeks were on fire. No, her whole innards were! Akali began to imagine her and Kayn being in bed. She'd be tied up against the headrest in most cases, Kayn topless and only in his boxers, having his way with her as Akali would squirm and relish under his touch. His pectorals against her breasts…

"Definitely me." Akali giggled afterward. "I… I'm sorry I must look like a tomato right now."

The woman laughed deeply. Akali was going to tell her more, but the woman stopped her. "I think that's all I need to know."

Akali blinked. "W-Wait, seriously? Just that?"

The humor in the woman's smile seemingly vanished. She cleared her throat. "Well, I do have one more question. And I'd like you to answer it very truthfully." She declared.

"Sure."

"Do you call your private parts… your public parts?" She asked with contempt.

Akali was going to speak but had to make sure that was what she heard. Why would she call her private parts public parts? "Sorry what?"

"How many men have you slept with?"

The rapper felt anger building up within. This woman had done a complete 180. "What?!"

"How many men will you sleep with when you're dating my son?" The woman asked menacingly. "Slut."

Wait a moment. Her son? Who's her son?

Akali's eyes widened. She would address what this woman just called her in a moment. "Son?!"

She rolled her eyes. "Perhaps it's time I state the obvious; my name is Syndra, you may or may not have heard of me. I trust you've been too busy fantasizing about being bound by countless men like my beloved son?"

This was awkward, infuriating, and overall severely inconvenient for Akali. She'd just talked to this woman about, while brief, doing it with her son!"

"Are you going to answer me slut?" Syndra asked.

Akali finally lashed out. "What did you just call me?!"

"You heard me." Syndra snarled. "And let me tell you something right now, if you ever, ever hurt my son, I will make your life the definition of Hell."

"You literally asked me about it!" Akali exclaimed.

"And if you weren't such a shameless skank, you'd have asked who I was first, and overall would never have told me what you'd like to get up to with my son." Syndra shot back.

Akali's face was flustered. Her heart was racing as tension washed all over her. The rapper wanted to spout something back at this woman. Her words hurt the girl greatly.

"Wait, you're Kayn's mother?" Akali asked calmly.

Synda didn't answer. She only glared. Luckily Akali had realized something.

"Funny, he told me how you and your husband met. Wasn't it under the same circumstances as this?" Akali asked. Syndra's eyes twitched. That was a blatant nod. "The only difference is you were very, very under the influence and he wasn't? You and him did it in the bathroom?"

Syndra's glaring ceased. She clenched her drink tightly. Akali kept her sneering out of it.

"You better watch yourself." Syndra growled, pointing at the girl. "You have no idea what I'm capable of."

"So, am I right?" Akali asked. The woman's eyes flared, leaning closer to the girl.

During this time, Culda had been hazily watching Akali and Syndra talking. The bartenders were busy with shots for other party-goers and Culda could see Akali glaring at the woman who got closer. The white-haired bartender followed her suspicious gaze, seeing what was happening.

His eyes widened.

Syndra leaned closer, and closer. As moments passed, she aggressively smiled. "You're not entirely naïve. Not bad for a slut."

Akali's eyes twitched. She hated that word. "You better stop calling me that."

"And what will you do if I don't?" Syndra asked. "You going to flash your chest for me… slut?"

"I said don't call me that!" Akali exclaimed, pushing Syndra who nearly fell off her chair. The woman felt a splash on her clothing. Some of her wine had accidentally been spilt and she glared at the girl.

"You little-!" Syndra didn't bother using an insult. She hurled her wine glass forward and doused Akali in the dark red fluids. The rapper yelled as she was covered in the drink, looking at her stained clothes that included her signature jacket.

The one Karma personally made for her.

Angry tears welt in her eyes. "YOU BITCH!"

Syndra coldly scoffed, seeing all eyes on her. Her arm was grabbed by the furious man who was her husband.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Zed yelled.

"Something you couldn't do yourself!" Syndra spat back.

"That girl is important to our son! You've got to wrap your head around the fact that he doesn't abide to your rules anymore!"

She shrugged it off, yanking her hand away from Zed who kept glaring. He took a cloth and began to wash it.

Suddenly Syndra heard a yell from her right. The woman fell off her seat with another woman gripping her shoulders. Syndra landed on the floor, feeling herself get straddled by Culda. The manager raised a fist and delivered it to Syndra's cheek. The observers gasped and the shouts from the K/DA's bodyguards were heard with Zed vaulting over the bar to give his assistance.

Syndra grabbed Culda's hair during their tussle, the manager screaming as she chose to sink her teeth into the woman's arm. Syndra groaned as Zed pulled her off, but Culda got in one last punch before being grabbed by Riven. Shen took Syndra from Zed, the man holding her arms in place. The woman kicked out and aimed her glare at Akali who was crying now.

At the same time Kayn emerged from the washroom finally, shocked to see his mother and the K/DA's manager being restrained by Riven and his uncle. His attention changed when hearing the sniffle of Akali, Kayn quickly hustling to the girl and ignoring his mother's cry of his name.

"Kayn!" Syndra called out.

"What did you do?!" Kayn angrily asked.

"I'm watching out for you!" Syndra claimed.

"Bullshit!" Kayn snarled. He looked at Akali who tried to wash the red wine off her. "Akali, you okay?"

The girl was too upset to speak. Kayn chose to embrace her, glaring at his mother who stood by her word. Caitlyn and Vi arrived with James bolting at the sound of Akali crying. He stopped when seeing Kayn embracing her, looking away as Caitlyn groaned.

"Vi, Holland, help them get these two out." She ordered.

"With pleasure." Vi growled, helping Shen who escorted a struggling Syndra out of the room. Zed hurried up to his brother who held his wife.

"YOU KEEP YOUR ABUSED SNATCH AWAY FROM MY SON!" She shouted.

"THAT'S ENOUGH SYNDRA!" Zed roared, scolding her as he left the room with Vi and Shen.

"Holland!" Caitlyn barked. This caused James to flinch as he'd been distraught over Akali's situation. "Help Riven!"

He wordlessly nodded, moving to help Riven escort a still tense Culda out of the party. James looked at Akali with sadness as others gathered around her, particularly Kayle and Kai'sa. Ahri was frustrated, talking with Caitlyn as Evelynn put her hand on the blonde's shoulder.

Evelynn and James shared a distressing stare before he left the room.

Many Years Ago

The first thing James saw was nothing. Literally nothing. He just saw darkness. He could still breath and heard Vi nearby. The young man declared a sack was on his head.

"Vi?"

"J-James? That you?" Vi's voice replied.

"Yeah Vi it's me." He answered. "Wait, where's Jani?! Vi what the hell's going on?!"

"I don't know!" Vi's voice frustratingly stated. "I know as much as you do right now!"

Suddenly a door was heard opening followed by footsteps. The place they were in likely was dense from the echo. James felt his sack get removed and his eyes were met with a bright light that caused him to squint. Vi's grunt sounded and James could see her silhouette on his right. When he turned back, the unknown woman who'd tackled him was standing afront. James spat at her immediately, the woman groaning in annoyance and struck him across the cheek. Vi minded her manners, the man in front of her keenly watching.

"Who the hell are you people? Where's my sister?!" James demanded.

"You're lucky we need you alive." The woman replied. "It's impossible for you to be so obtuse, not knowing you're working with a wanted criminal."

"Where. Is. My. Sister." James repeated slowly.

"She's safe Mr. Holland." A voice answered. "In fact, she's probably safer than she's been in her whole life up to this point."

James and Vi saw a silhouette in the door of the room. The same woman Vi saw before they broke down the door to her apartment. Her arms remained behind her back in a royal stance.

"Who the fuck are you?" Vi asked.

A laugh from the woman happened. "You should know Vi; you're the ones who called us remember?"

"What?!"

"The hell's she talking about Vi." James impatiently said.

"Do I look like I know?" Vi replied. "There's no way I called you guys! I only spoke with Jayce!"

"And he connected with us after you two spoke. It's just that simple." The woman said. "I feel I should introduce myself. I'm Camille."

The name didn't ring a bell to James, but it did to Vi. Only bits and pieces.

"Camille?" Vi asked. "You mean the eldest surviving child of Clan Ferros' Masters? Whose been known to take care of the more… difficult problems that the authorities or government can't handle?"

Camille grinned. "The very same."

"What the hell do you want with us?" Vi asked.

Camille sighed. "Perhaps I should've waited until Jayce arrived. It can be a lengthy travel to Zaun from Piltover and sometimes I just don't have the patience."

"I won't have any patience left if you don't tell me where my sister is." James snarled.

The woman looked at James, unamused for him blurting out. She drew a knife from her waist, hurling it at him. James exclaimed, but heard an impact against wood, seeing the weapon inches from his shoulder on the chair. Camille marched to him and retrieved it.

"Next time I won't miss." She threatened.

He'd retort, but that would make situation worst. James kept his mouth shut. Camille flipped the knife in her hand, putting it in her belt.

"So, while we wait for Jayce, would anyone care for a spot of tea?"

The two guards shook their heard, Vi and James not saying anything as the woman shrugged. Eventually some chatter was heard on the guards radio.

"Mistress, he's arrived. On his way down now." She said.

"Finally." Camille groaned, dipping the teabag in her drink.

Footsteps came from the door, Vi and James eyeing it as the guards set up a table. Camille pulled up two chairs, sitting down in one as the guards finally untied Vi and James. They made sure neither would make a move before doing so.

Finally, a new figure entered the room. He was devilishly handsome, having a five o'clock shadow aftershave. A suit covered his body and he was carrying a briefcase that was handed to Camille.

"I'm assuming you're Vi?" The man asked taking a seat.

"If you're Jayce then yes I am." Vi replied.

Jayce let out a bustle. "Nice to finally meet you in person Vi. I knew you'd do the right thing eventually."

"Yeah save it hot-shot, I'm not doing this only for myself." She replied.

"Ah yes, I recall you mentioning Mr. um… Holland?" Jayce switched to James.

"James Holland." He sternly voiced.

"So I see, nice to meet you."

"Yeah now tell me, where's my sister?" James demanded.

Jayce blinked. "I'm sorry what?"

"Where's my goddamn sister." James growled. "I've sat through Camille's talk and your introduction. It's only fair that I get to see her."

Camille sighed. "Forgive me, this imbecile here can't seem to go two seconds without going on about this little girl who he'd prefer to have endangered instead of her being safe."

"I doubt she sees it that way." James scolded. "Now are you going to bring her to me or am I going to have to be sedated again?"

"That can be arranged." The female guard growled.

"Stop." Jayce spoke up. "You'll do no such thing." He turned to James. "My deepest apologies Mr. Holland, I wasn't aware of that. Camille must've left that detail out."

"Can't say I'm surprised."

Camille huffed. She took a sip from her tea, looking at the female guard and nodding. The masked woman left the room, silence taking over as Camille looked at Jayce with the expectation of him getting to the point.

"So Jayce, any particular reason why you had this woman and her goons break down the door of my apartment and apprehend us?" Vi asked.

"I was against that scenario Vi, believe me." Jayce defended.

"Hmm, how long have you been working with Camille. Never struck me as the kind of person who'd do that." Vi stated.

Jayce chose to laugh merrily. "Do you really believe I was able to take down Viktor with a handful of officials?"

"He's right you know." Camille cut in. "My people are trained to ensure they can take on a hundred men if need be. It only makes sense for this man to make some shady choices for dire situations."

"Like confiscating a juvenile girl from her brother?" James scoffed.

Camille exhaled sharply. "I should cut out your tongue. Teach you not to be rude."

"There'll be none of that." Jayce warned. "But Camille, he does have a point. Was there any reason why you couldn't have her in here? We wouldn't be having this conversation if you did."

Camille scoffed, looking away as she sipped her tea. Moments later the female guard entered the room, Jani in her possession with the girl being oddly quiet. James stood up and the woman shoved the girl into his arms, James glaring before sitting down.

"Jani? Hey Jani." He whispered.

"I think she's asleep." Vi added, smiling heartwarmingly as the girl was indeed asleep.

"I told you she was safe." Camille said.

James and Vi ignored the woman. Jayce smiled and opened the briefcase, revealing various piles of papers. He cleared his throat to get their attention.

"So, can we begin?" Jayce asked.
