My head was aching and my eyes felt strained as I got out of bed. I guess I was so tired that I had over slept. Not only that but I was frustrated that after all that I had gone through to get back to Dimitri, I couldn't keep myself awake.

We made it to the bottom of the staircase and I was greeted with three new faces that I had never seen before. It looked like they had just come inside, still shaking their jackets off. I was still in a pair of pajamas which I only now realized were not mine. I don't even remember putting them on.

"Mama who's that?" A little boy came out from behind one of the women who was carrying a baby girl in her arms. He looked to be about ten.

"I don't know Paul." She looked back at us, "Who is your friend, Dimitri?"

"This is Rose. Rose, these are my sisters, Karolina, Sonya, and Viktoria. And this little guy is Paul, my nephew."

"Hello," I said softly, giving them a small smile. I felt a little self conscious. I was in their home, wearing pajamas that probably belonged to one of them, and it was obvious that I was pregnant. I could only imaging what they thought about me. Then again, I wasn't the only one here who was expecting. The sister that Dimitri introduced as Sonya looked to be about as far along as I was.

"Rose will be staying with us for a little while." Olena chimed in.

"I see we have something in common" Sonya said, patting her belly. "You look like you are still a high school student. Did you get knocked up by a Maroi boy from school? " My eyes widened slightly as my cheeks turned red. I know what she thought of me. Blood Whore.

"Sonya!" Dimitri and Olena both scolded.

"What? I'm just curious. It's not like you knocked her up little brother," She snorted. The room went silent for a moment; so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I know she meant it as a joke because she didn't know but my head fell and I wanted to cry. Great, I was doing so good with keeping my tears in lately.

"Actually, that's exactly what happened." Dimitri's voice was laced with anger. Everyone stayed quiet as they took in Dimitri's words. Sonya looked at Dimitri like he had just grown a second head. He took my hand in his and I looked up to see that his face matched the anger in his voice, his eyebrows furrowed together. She really upset him. I guess I was not the only one who was sensitive about this subject. "Everyone, this is Rose, my girlfriend and the mother of my unborn child," he introduced me again.

Viktoria was he first to speak, "Oh my god! How exciting! I'm going to be an aunt." She widdled her way through her sisters and gave Dimitri a big hug before taking me by surprise and embracing me. "Do you know what it will be? A boy or girl? How far along are you? Can I be a godmother? Oh Rose, does this mean you're my sister now! Wait, how did you get her pregnant Dimitri?"

"Viktoria, that's enough, okay." Olena pulled her daughter away from us.

"Sorry."

"I would like to know that last part too," Sonya said, "What you are saying doesn't make any sense."

"Look, it's really hard to explain the situation. I'll try to explain later, but for now Rose really should eat something."

"Your brother is right. The food is getting cold."

"But..."

"Not now Sonya. We will discuss this later." Olena gave me a quick smile for reassurance and I mouthed her a thank you as everyone shuffled into the dinning room. Dimitri and I took our seats at the far end of the table, opposite of Sonya.

"Roza, are you okay?' He asked. I nodded. "I'm sorry about my sister. I did not think she would say something like that."

"It's fine," I lied. It's not fine. If I am honest, I don't want to explain to anyone how Dimitri and I conceived our child. The last think I wanted to be up for everyone to discuss was something so private. Even if we just explained to them about me being shadowkissed and all, it was still personal and I did not think it to be anyone's business but mine and Dimitri's but I guess when you defy centuries worth of genetics, people are bound to want answers.

My stomach welcomed the food as I took bite after bite. I can't remember the last time I had eaten. I don't even know what it was that I was putting into my body but whatever it is it I really liked it.

Not much conversation was exchanged during dinner. Dimitri's younger sister talked about how her day went but other than that it was really tense around the table. When everyone was done eating Dimitri offered to wash the dishes. He got up to gather the plates from the table while everyone went off to their bedrooms. Olena followed Sonya and I had a feeling she was going scold her some more for earlier. I grabbed a couple plates from the table to help Dimitri clean but he took them away from me.

"Roza, please sit down. I can take care of this. You're supposed to be resting." He chastised.

"I'm fine Comrade. I want to help." He gave me a worried look but he must have seen no issues with me helping. Smart man for not arguing with me. I placed the last dish in the sink as he turned the water on to start washing them. "I wanted to talk to you actually."

"What about?" He asked.

"Well, now that I know the reason you left and that you and I are still together..."

"Something that you should never question again," he added. I nodded.

"Right. Um, I just was wondering what do we do now?" I leaned against the counter next to the sink and watched him clean a dinner plate.

He took a quick moment to think about it before he spoke. "For now, we need to make sure that you are going to be okay. I think it would be smart to stay here for a bit. If that's okay with you."

"Are you sure that won't be an issue?"

"Why would it be?" He asked.

"I don't think your sister is going to like that very much after tonight."

"You don't have to worry about her. All you have to worry about is taking care of yourself and the baby." I gave him a nod. We finished cleaning the kitchen and dinning table in silence before retreating back to Dimitri's room. He had brought up a vase for the flowers he had brought me and they now sat on the desk near the window. I laid in his arms and we talked for a little bit before I found myself succumbing to sleep once more.
