PRESENT DAY - ALLEN'S MANSION, BARRINGTON, NEW YORK
They're all in Viv's room watching over Alice who remains unconscious. Alec was just done telling them the story on how Presidio was able to capture him and how he ended up in the basement for almost twenty years.
"My mom said her memories were suppressed to prevent her from losing control of her power after you went missing", Viv said.
"They were right to do that. She has better control of her power now unlike before but she is driven by her emotions. Right now, she is full of anger and rage. She has witnessed so much lost and there are still people after her. The more she loses herself to her rage, the more she loses control of her power", Alec explained.
Geoff held his mother's hand.
"I never knew that. William just made me promise to look after his daughter in the event he passed away. He never explained the reason. I just thought he was wary because he already lost you", Moshe said.
"Father didn't want taking advantage of her power. Samuel Allen wanted to find her so badly. He thought of me as the gateway to Alice but I never helped him no matter how painful the torture was. He wanted her to use her power to bring back his son", Alec said.
Maggie remembered something.
"I thought he was just going crazy", she muttered and everyone turned to her. "There was that one night. He said he saw the energy detector spiked incredibly high but I didn't see it. I shot him down but he insisted. He said he needed to find where it came from but I ignored him. He was obsessing with warlocks and their history and culture. I thought it was one of his episodes. Apparently, he was right. He did see the detector spiked and it was Alice", she said.
Gina sat down with Phillip and Cathy trying to absorb everything.
"I could still keep an eye on everything in Harlow and I was so happy to see her found love. She was able to build a nice life. She became a teacher like I always thought she would be. She loves children and helping others. Like me, she believed humans and monsters can co-exist peacefully. She was a bit rebellious too. She went out the village couple of times just to breathe. Presidio found out what she looks like from her picture inside my wallet. That's how Edith was able to approach her and befriend her. That was hard. I couldn't do anything. I couldn't warn her. I just watched as she was fooled and betrayed. She gave birth alone while our people were being slaughtered, after her husband just got killed. I saw her as she cried when she thought her children died as well. I saw her as she got filled with anger and thirst for betrayal. I saw her being betrayed once more by the rebels and I was there with her when she was imprisoned for years. That was the biggest and most painful torture anyone can do to me, watch my sister went through hell while I can do nothing to help her", Alec said.
"You don't believe she will turn bad, right? She's been through so much, yes, but she will not go as far as destroying everything", Geoff asked his uncle.
"When your sister freed her, Alice killed everyone who stepped on her way. She was so fixated on revenge. I was so shocked because the Alice I know wouldn't even hurt a fly and yet I saw her took lives like it was nothing. I thought that was it. I failed. The pendulum swayed to the other side and it's too late. Then, she found you two. Her thirst for revenge subsided. All she wanted was to get her family back, bring our people back to life. I realized there's hope. It wasn't too late", he answered.
Maggie's phone beeped and she silently read the message. Her reaction caught everyone's attention.
"Maggie? What is it?" Deloris asked.
"Well, the New York base picked up the energy released by Alice earlier. They're asking permission for a team to check this place", she answered.
"Can't you say no? You're the head of Presidio now", Moshe suggested.
Maggie made a face.
"Yes, I am but I can't just go do as I please without raising a flag. It's the standard procedure. If I say no, they will suspect something is up. I will be risking my position and that would be bad because my position is the only thing protecting my grandchildren and all of you from being taken away", Maggie said.
Everyone knows she has a point. They cannot risk Presidio suspect Maggie is helping them. They need her to cover for them.
"It's fine. They won't find us. I'll take care of it", Alec volunteered.
"I get your need to protect your sister and other things you did but those agents they will send here are just people doing their jobs", Maggie said.
"Calm down. I will not kill anyone. I will use my power to make them see nothing. They won't find us. Trust me", he clarified.
Deloris nodded at her mother-in-law, a sign that she trusts the warlock.
"Fine. I'll give the signal. Don't leave this room and do your thing", Maggie said and left the room with Deloris, the twins, and Phillip and Cathy.
Alec remained by his sister's side while Moshe and Gina stayed in the room with them.
"I'm sorry about calling the rebels", Gina apologized. "I was just trying to do my job", she added.
"I can understand but I am not sure about Alice. Let's not push her over the edge, okay? I am still working on how I am going to pick her broken pieces", Alec said.
"I will do my best to call off the hunt for her but that's all I can manage. It's not up to me. You know that", Moshe said.
"That is enough", Alec replied.
The Presidio ops came and made a clean sweep but didn't find Alice, Alec, and Moshe in the house thanks to Alec's magic. Once they're gone, Deloris sent Phillip and Cathy home.
"Do you think my other Mom will be okay?" Viv asked Deloris.
"Alice is tough and she has a good heart. Plus, she has you two and her brother. You will be her anchor to the good side", Deloris answered.
The young woman smiled.
"Yeah, we can do that. We can be her anchor", Viv said.
Meanwhile, Alice remains unconscious. Inside her brain, memories of the genocide, her husband's death, her imprisonment, Sylvia's death, the hunt for her, keep playing on a loop. Geoff, who is sleeping beside her, unconsciously touched her hand and he was able to see what's happening to her in her unconscious. It took all his will and energy to detach himself from Alice.
"Oh my god…" he muttered while panting.
He quickly ran out of the room to find his uncle. Then, Alice finally opened her eyes. They are red as blood and both are hungry for death.
