Andrew went to draw his sword but stopped when I said stop. If he made a scene, there would be a problem. So I did the only thing I could think of. I dismissed Andrew as my guardian. He only took a couple of minutes to ask why.
" First, you have shown no interest in protecting me. Second, you just almost pulled a sword on another guardian. Both reasons are enough to have you dismissed." I told him boldly. Yuna just happened to walk out and hear what I had said. Lulu and Kimarhi were right with her.
"If this is true, then you have violated the oath you took when you became a guardian. She has every right to dismiss you." Lulu spoke up. Andrew looked at me, then them. Then he stormed off toward the crusader's lodge.
Drew looked at Andrew's retreating figure, then at me. I knew what he was going to ask, so I told him that it was not his fault. He looked unsure, but let it pass.
A few minutes passed as Yuna's guardians gathered, and Yuna told them of what had transpired. Everyone agreed that it was the right thing to do. Ben should be coming out soon, I thought to myself. So when he didn't come out, I went to fetch him. And Yuna sensing trouble came with me.
When we opened the door we were met with the sight of Andrew's sword at Ben's neck. Lulu, thankfully, was in spell range and set Andrew on fire. This distracted him long enough for Ben to get his claw and get from under the sword. When Andrew realized what was happening, he lunged at me.
"You will not hurt her!" Drew shouted, brandishing his new sword at Andrew. Andrew stopped right before impaling himself on Drew's sword.
"Why do you stop me? She is the reason we are in this mess!" Andrew screamed. Drew shook his head and told him that I was the only one who knew what to do. Ben nodded and added that if we were to survive, I was the key.
Andrew growled and pushed his way out of the lodge. As he left, he told everyone that he would find his way back. I sighed. I knew this spelt trouble, but there was nothing I could do at the moment.
"No matter what, I will guard you as I promised. I swear it." Drew seemed to know what was going on in my head. Ben heard this and swore to protect me again.
Yuna then asked what we were doing back in Besaid. I told her what we needed to do. I also told her to stay with her guardians in the village, since we had the weapons that could capture the fiends for the monster arena. Besides, I told her that I had to break in my new guardian.
So we left, Drew was stronger than I imagined. He still wasn't talking that much about what happened in the temple, but it seemed his strength had gone up. Don't get me wrong he was strong, to begin with, but this was awesome how strong he was now.
He took down all the fiends we needed except the Water Flans in one swing. The Water Flans took 3 swings. Ben stood back and watched him take out fiends left and right. Once we had defeated ten of each, I directed Ben and Drew back to the village. Once we got there, I hit the shop to pick up supplies. Then I went to find Yuna, and head to Kilika Island. I found her beating rugs with her wand as if she was strength training. Tidus was watching her, and telling her how to hit harder.
Auron, Kimarhi, Lulu, Wakka, and Rikku were all nearby training as well, it seemed. When I made myself present, they all looked at me. So I guessed. Yuna was strength training, Auron was speed training, Wakka and Rikku were learning magic, and Lulu was teaching the magic. Kimarhi was watching Yuna like always. When Yuna heard me, she stopped and walked over to me.
"You know how to defeat Sin for good, don't you? If so, what training should we be doing?" She asked eagerly. I no longer saw the harm in telling her these things.
"Yuna, you and Lulu should teach each other. Kimarhi can learn anything he wants. Auron should learn to move faster. Wakka as well. Rikku, you should hone your skills and be able to steal things almost all the time. Drew and Tidus should work on strength, while Ben should be training with Rikku." I explained. Yuna then asked about the Aeons. That is when I pulled her aside and told her the Aeons gain strength when we do. She nodded and asked if we were going back to the Calm Lands. When I asked why did she want to go back, she told me that everyone had decided that they wanted to help.
So back to the Calm Lands we went. When we made it to the monster arena, he had a second chest waiting for us. After he told us about a monster that he created and I turned him down, he let us open the chest. It held twenty Door to Tomorrows. That was a good grab because Rikku could use them in mixes.
As I went to go get us chocobos to get to Reminem Temple, Yuna and her guardians talked to the arena keeper. I didn't know what they were talking about. But at that time, I was getting chocobos to ride.
When we were ready, we all took the Chocobos to the entrance to Macalania Woods. Yuna followed my lead as if she knew that I was going to help her defeat Sin once and for all. It didn't take long for the Chocobos to realize where we were going and they took off straight for Remiem Temple.
When we got to the temple, the Chocobos stopped and let us get off of them. I led them to the Chocobo that I would be riding.
"I will get the prize," I told them and they nodded. I climbed up onto the Chocobo and started the race. It didn't take long, but I won. And with this win, I received the Cloudy Mirror. The Chocobo took me back to the top with no problem.
When I returned to the group, I told them that we had to get the Fayth that was here as well. But before we could get the last Aeon, we needed to go back to Mt. Gagazet to collect the four fiends I was missing. So Yuna looked at Kimarhi and asked if that was alright.
I looked at him for an answer as well. It was his home after all. He asked us why we were asking him, and I responded.
"Mt. Gagazet is the sacred home of the Ronso. You are the Ronso of the group, so we want your permission to do this. Plus I am sure that any Ronso kids were hidden away when Seymour attacked. This gives you a chance to see how many Ronso still live...for a future without Sin." I told him. As soon as I finished, he nodded and told everyone that they were always welcome to climb the heights of Mt. Gagazet. That is when I dropped a bombshell that I shouldn't have, but I couldn't help myself.
"You will make a good leader for the Ronso in the future, Kimarhi," I whispered. His head whipped around to look at me, and that is when I knew he had heard me. I placed my finger up to my lips as if to tell him that our little secret. His smile was both heartening and scary.
With Kimarhi's blessing to climb Mt. Gagazet again, we headed back to there. When we got to the gate, the bodies of the fallen Ronso warriors were still there with young Ronso children crying. Mothers were there watching over the young, and when they saw us, asked us to perform the sending for the fallen. For Kimarhi we agreed and asked that Kimarhi join us in sending them to the Farplane.
Even if you never meet a Ronso, you never want to see one cry. Which is exactly what Kimarhi did. We started and had Kimarhi stand between us. Auron stood really far away, and I knew why. We danced and sent them to the Farplane, with Kimarhi watching us.
The Ronso mothers thanked us when we were done. And then asked us a question. They asked us why we wanted Kimarhi to help us.
"That is because we mourn with him over the loss. We mourn with all that Sin and murderers has touched. All that lost their lives because of Sin, greed, or other reasons. We mourn with those that live, over the lives lost. He knows us the best and he knew that we would do a good job sending them. And them being his people, it was only right to have a Ronso touch to the sending." I explained breathlessly. They then told us that we were a blessing, and very kind and caring.
