Dublin Theatre
Dublin, Ireland
20:14
It was the night of the show, and the theatre was sold out once again, but in reality, over half of the audience was bribed just to show up and stick around to clap at the end. In fact, most of them weren't even paying attention to the stage.
Sierra was originally supposed to sing Moves Like Jagger with the penguins, but since she, Owen and apparently Spud had left, Cody was forced to fill in for her, since he had helped her with the choreography.
Cody: Take me by the tongue and I'll know you
Kiss me on the cheek and I'll show you
All the moves like Jagger
I got the moves like Jagger...
Meanwhile, Max and Scarlett had already broken into the Irish National Bank to find Blood's locket. Max straightened his suit while Scarlett set the bombs in place on the vault.
"Do you have the evidence to frame the fat guy?," Max asked.
Scarlett held up a rubber chicken she had gotten from Owen's discarded suitcase.
"Excellent," Max grinned.
He then glanced towards the front of the bank and noticed there was nobody by the doors.
"Where are the guards?"
The curtain raised as a song from The Nutcracker began to play. Beth danced onto the stage wearing a tutu, with Katie and Sadie joining in for backup.
Three audience members in particular started laughing hysterically as the dance continued. They were so lucky to get those free tickets, this was way better than that boring night shift.
Two rows behind them were Topher and Jacques, who were having a stakeout at the theatre in hope of finally catch the thief in the act.
"Stay here, I'm going to check on the vault," Topher whispered to Jacques before quietly getting up from his seat and making his way to the door.
Suddenly, Katie and Sadie started dancing with jackhammers, causing Beth to stumble from all the shaking.
The jackhammers unknowingly created the perfect cover for Max and Scarlett's bombs, which went off at the exact same time, blowing the steel door off of the wall.
Max and Scarlett both waved the smoke away with their hands as they warily approached the door. They looked inside carefully, but were surprised when a full-blown skeleton fell out onto the floor.
Max yelped and jumped into Scarlett's arms, clinging on in terror. Scarlett promptly dropped him, rolling her eyes. She leaned down to observe the skeleton that appeared to belong to Thomas Blood himself, judging by the twelfth-century attire, and more importantly, the large locket clutched in his hand.
"Colonel Blood's locket," she grinned.
"Of course," Max nodded, standing back up, "Well what are you waiting for? Grab it!"
Scarlett groaned before she began to carefully remove the locket from the skeleton.
Suddenly, they heard a trail of light footsteps coming from down the hall, followed by the static from a walkie-talkie.
"Someone's coming! Abort!," Max whisper-shouted before turning on his heel and running back to the tunnel, while Scarlett was forced to rip the skeleton's entire arm off and quickly toss a coin over her shoulder before following after him.
When Topher arrived at the vault, he heard the sound of a coin landing on the floor and when he turned to find the source, he only just managed to see a human shadow running the other way.
"I think I just saw something," Topher's eyes widened, "it's heading back to the theatre!"
He quickly turned around and began running back to the theatre as fast as he could.
Back in the theatre, Dakota was now singing one of her Celine Dion songs while Rodney played piano for her.
Just offstage, Izzy was talking to Noah.
"I'm telling you, something feels really weird."
"You mean that Sierra, Owen and Spud are gone?"
"Yeah! Well that and the inside of my unitard is covered in mustard."
"...why do I hang out with you?"
After securing the locket, the two thieves quickly changed out of their black suits and ran back to the stage.
"That was close," Scarlett muttered, still breathing heavily from all the rushing.
"Too close," Max frowned, looking up at her, "We need to move to final Phase Three: Wedding!"
He then began walking towards the stage, only to be stopped by Cody.
"Hey, Sam, you can't go out there. It's Dakota's Celine Dion number."
Max responded by promptly grabbing his arm and flipping him onto his back.
"Whoa!," Cody yelled out in surprise.
Izzy and Noah, who had been standing nearby, watched in shock as Max walked out onto the stage.
"Ok, now that's weird," Noah admitted as he and Izzy stared at the scene with wide-eyes.
Topher ran back to his seat and found Jacques enjoying a turkey sandwich and a drink.
"Did you see anything?," Topher asked, nearly out of breath.
"Not a thing," Jacques shook his head, "It is my lunch break. It last six hours."
"Excuse me!"
Max ran onstage despite Cody's attempts to stop him, and quickly got everyone's attention.
"Ladies and gentlemen!," he announced, using his Sam voice, "I have an announcement!"
Dakota, who was just about to reach the climax of her song, paused when she saw her boyfriend run onstage out of nowhere.
"What?"
Rodney stopped as well, equally baffled while the audience began to murmur in confusion.
Dakota giggled nervously, smiling at the audience as she quickly got off of the piano and walked up to Max.
"Sam, I am right in the middle of a song here!," she frowned, crossing her arms.
"Dakota," Max began, "I have a very important question for you."
"Well can it wait til- -"
Dakota's breath got caught in her throat when Max suddenly got down one knee.
The audience gasped in realization and quickly woke up anyone next to them who had fallen asleep during the show.
"Would you like to become..."
Max took out a ring.
"Mrs. Small?"
The rest of the Kids crowded backstage to witness what they've been waiting years for. While some couldn't believe their eyes, others smiled ear to ear in excitement.
Dakota herself was still in shock. She brought her hands up to her face as she struggled to not break into tears of joy.
"Oh Sam, I thought you'd never ask, I really thought you'd never ask!"
"So?"
Max turned his head towards the audience to be sure that everyone could hear him ask...
"What do you say?"
Everyone had their own reactions to this announcement.
Scarlett stared at them in shock, wondering how this was supposed to tie into the plan.
Topher was in shock as well, while Jacques on the other hand whispered, "It's beautiful."
The rest of the Kids leaned in, eagerly awaiting Dakota's answer, even though they all knew she would say...
"YEEEEES!"
The audience erupted into applause as Dakota nodded her head faster than a bobblehead and Max slipped the ring onto her finger.
"I can't believe this! After all this time, it was finally...just so easy!," Dakota cheered, giving Max the biggest smile of her life.
Max smirked as he took his hand in Dakota's and turned towards the audience.
"That's right, folks, it's the Total Drama wedding the world has been waiting for! We'll be putting our tour on hold..."
"Wait what?," Dakota muttered in confusion.
"WHAT?!," everyone offstage yelled in unison.
"To be married in two days' time at the world's most romantic location, the Tower of London."
Dakota gasped, almost immediately forgetting what he said about the tour, and jumped up and down in glee as the reporters and paparazzi rushed up to the stage and started flashing their cameras.
"Oh my gosh," Cody muttered, still frozen in shock.
Izzy's eyes were as wide as saucers, "Sam's really doing it, isn't he?"
"Looks like it," Noah mused, unable to take his eyes off the stage.
At that moment, Carly came up to Izzy and clucked, "What about you and Noah, Izzy?"
"I told you, when I'm a millionaire...again."
Max and Dakota stood onstage while the reporters continued to take as many pictures as they could.
Dakota smiled as she looked at her engagement ring.
"Ah, this ring, it's so...so black?"
Now that her giddiness had worn off, Dakota finally took notice that the jewel on the ring was a large, black rectangle.
"It's a little untraditional, don't you think?"
Max turned to her and explained, "It's a very rare black diamond. Uh, that ring is priceless. Like you, my dear."
"Oh, Sam," Dakota smiled, "You've never said that to me- -"
Dakota cut herself off and frowned in confusion.
"...before."
Max quickly pushed Dakota further downstage and smiled to keep up his charade for the cameras.
Dakota eyed her supposed 'boyfriend' in surprise.
"What's gotten into you?"
Max gave her another phony smile.
"Love, my dear."
He turned away from her and imagined the crown jewels in his grasp.
"Love."
Dakota stared at him, but not with love and admiration like before. In that moment, it had finally occurred to Dakota that Sam has never acted like this before. Of course she wanted to marry him but, now that she's taken a good look at him, Dakota realized that this is not the generous and humble Sam she fell in love with.
Afterwards, Max retreated to his dressing room.
"This is your master plan?"
He yelped when he saw Scarlett standing before him with her arms crossed.
"Proposing to that dumb blonde?," she remarked with a skeptical look on her face.
"Oh, keep up, Sidekick," Max frowned, "You can't put on a stupid variety show in the Tower of London. But you can get married," he smirked.
Scarlett's eyes widened in realization. Honestly, she was a little embarrassed that she hadn't caught on sooner. The map said that Blood's passageways were directly below St. John's chapel.
"I realized months ago that our only shot at pulling this off, was a Total Drama wedding."
