Cris held her bow steady. Her hazel eyes harsh as she waited. Standing ontop of a hillock in a clearing in the woods between her place. In the distance a storm began to build, it's lightening flickering with seeming impatience. She, held her calm. The anger she felt towards this man pushed on to the back burner.
She could straight up beat him in a fight, but she felt, knew even, that it wouldn't be enough. This whole night would be devoted to pounding the fact in his head that she no longer was the pushover she had been.
When he finally came into view, spotting her right off the bat. The moon was bright enough for her to been easily seen, the storm hadn't covered it yet. He snarled and stomped towards her. Obviously not clearly seeing what exactly she was holding. Shame that he couldn't see as well as she did.
"You, ruined everything." Ken growled as he drew closer. "Put me in so much debt. Took my best horse-"
"From a mess you caused by getting involved with them and mistreating him to the point he doesn't hardly trust anyone." Cris cut him off, still holding her bowstring taught.
"He needed to learn his place!" Ken roared back at her. "Just like you do!"
"Funny..." She let her lip curl up into a light smile that he couldn't see. "I seem to have found my place after I ditched you." She waited, letting him come closer. He still hadn't really seen what she was doing.
"You'll never ditch me, Crystal. Not when my ass is out of hot water when I drag you back. And my horse. He'll at least be worth enough to cancel out a lot of it. Not all, but a lot."
"I'm not letting you take me, or Beast, back there." Her tone was one of firm promise.
"You don't have a choice."
"Oh?" Good. he was close enough now. "I think I do, Ken. I also think it's time for you to learn that." Then she finally let her arrow fly.
Ken paused a moment in shock, knowing right off the bat the sound of an arrow being loosened. He himself was an avid arrow hunter. When the slim rod shot right past his head, he even laughed. "You missed."
Cris lowered the bow. One that had been specially crafted for her by Raph and Donnie. It was much, much stronger than a normal bow, and the arrows hit with much more force. It was one made specifically to take in her new abilities, and it was one that worked perfectly for what happened next.
It thudded very hard into a log not far behind Ken, and the log toppled over. It's fall releasing the the tension that was holding back a rope, that was tied to a heavy log, one of the beams Gramps had searched out earlier in the summer and planned to use for a sturdy fence post. Right now it was a battering ram that slammed into Ken from the side, lifting him up high into the air...and depositing him firmly into the drainage ditch...that was full of mucky water. His screams mixed with a lot of splashing, and she grinned. Reslinging her bow over her shoulder, she jogged on. She wasn't quite done with him yet.
Her next stop, not much farther towards Vicky's place, was a much simpler trap. She easily cleared an unassuming looking spot on the trail, but kept going at a slow enough pace to where she was sure Ken would catch up with her. And his continued cursing was loud enough to tell her that he was indeed catching up.
Right until she heard the crashing sound behind her, followed by another wet sounding thud. And she grinned fully, turned, casually walked back to the pit she had dug...and threw some goat shit and water in. Made for a very stinky mess. She was honestly surprised that he hadn't smelt it before plunging in.
Oh well, he was certainly smelling it now.
Peering over the rim, she was still openly grinning when she caught sight of her former boyfriend who was now enraged and rivaling Raph in the curse word department. Raph was still better at it in her opinion.
"Ready to give up yet?"
"Bitch! I'll take you back in a fucking body bag!"
"I guess not." She shrugged. Well, it would take him a bit to get out of there. Maybe he would rethink that opinion.
Yeah, and maybe Vicky would like pink one of these days.
She just shrugged and turned away again, this time walking. "Ok then, have fun in your goat shit bath."
The screams coming from down there were pretty pissed.
Her next stop was a bit more, to the point. She was pretty much done playing with him. Her patience in this just as short as Raph's would have been. She didn't really want to drag this out much more. But, she full well knew she had to beat it in his head that he wasn't in control of her anymore. He needed to go away, of his own accord or she would run the risk of him continuously coming back and potentially finding things out that he shouldn't. And then, those steps would have to be much more drastic.
Once more she stopped. This time out in the open. Behind her was the fields the goats and Beast grazed in, and Vicky's house was easily seen, as was the barn and Gramps' house. Cris pulled her bow back off of her shoulder, and notched another arrow. As she had earlier, she waited for him to show.
She stood for quite some time, suspecting that it would take him a while to get out of his current predicament. It was the smell that alerted her that perhaps she had erred in the time it would take him, and the path he might take. She smelled the foul smell of wet droppings a moment before pain sliced into her side. She dropped her bow and spun, hanbo now in hand, just as he rose up out of the tall grass. His hand holding another knife to throw at her. Cris snarled at him, then defiantly yanked the knife he threw out of her side, and threw it back at him. Nailing him in the shoulder. Fucker, he wasn't the only one who could throw a damn blade.
What happened next probably wouldn't get any points in martial arts style, of any kind. Ken tackled her and the both of them took the fight to the ground. He began to revert to his old tactics of abuse, his hands turning into fists and doing damage to her face, but he seemed off balance by the fact that this time she refused to just lay there and beg him to stop. No, she was past being a helpless woman to a much larger man. And she let him know it too. Her knee found his balls and right after she punched him in the face hard enough to roll him back off of her. Her eyes were blazing as she got back to her feet. He hand pressed against her side but the fire still bright in her eyes.
"You got fucking lucky." She growled at him.
He snorted derisively at her as he also got back to his feet. "Nice try. But I wised up on you after the fucking pit. I'm still better out here than you are."
"Maybe." She conceded. "But if you expect to beat me into submission, those times are long gone. Asshole." She paused to catch her breath, lord her side was killing her. "Just go away, Ken. I'm not going back with you. Ever."
His eyes narrowed, and he rushed her again. This time she was expecting it. Even hurting, she managed to block his swings as she held her cool. She took her hand away from her would and began to lose herself in her training. Those many hours spent with Raph in the dojo now taking over in movements that were fluid, if lacking their usual punch. Her side was now a handicap, but she was still going to show this ass she meant it when she said she wasn't going back.
"Leave. Me. Alone." She snarled each word out as she slapped his forearm, shin and stomach.
He responded with a hard punch to her face, which actually managed to daze her. That was all he need to knock her down onto her back. He picked up her dropped arrow from earlier, and his eyes were dead as he stared down at her prone form. Cris raised her eyes to see him holding the arrow tight in his grip, with the clear intention to end her with it. His words just confirmed that. "I guess I'm taking you bag in a game bag..." He snarled as he dropped hard onto her stomach, the arrow now held high and ready to plunge.
Before he could, Cris gathered herself enough to let out a very shrill whistle.
Ken looked momentarily confused, and Cris just smiled at him. "I'm not the only one who would love to take a piece out of your hide..." She quietly told him, even as a well known noise came to his attention.
The sound of a running horse, that was coming rapidly closer.
Ken whirled towards the noise just as Beast cleared the low fence of the goat pen, Cris having put him in there just for this reason since his own fence was much higher. The majestic black stallion glided over the obstacle, his mane and tail flowing behind him as he charged on. With an enraged whinny, he was on top of Ken before he could put it together what was about to happen. The freshly shoed horse promptly lowered his head, using it as a battering ram to knock the hated man off of his beloved Cris. Then the large horse spun back around, his fore hooves flailing, kicking. Ken was suddenly at the mercy of the horse he had once owned, Cris stole from him, and had hoped to reclaim. Beast was having none of it. The horse reared high, slamming his hooves down hard onto the ground before kicking out again, and again.
Cris was sure the stallion would kill Ken if she didn't intervene. As tempting as that was, her conscious wouldn't allow for that. She calmed her pet with gentle words and soothing touches and finally Beast let up from the bloody and bruised mass on the ground. He knickered quietly as he nudged her with his nose and she laughed at his now childlike antics. until he sorted warningly. Ken was back on his feet, and honestly Cris was past fed up with him. She turned, her fist already clenched and ready and hit him square in the jaw, and he went back down. Dazed into submission now.
Cris repaid the knee in the stomach as she dropped on him, hard. "You, will go away." She demanded between clenched teeth. "Or next time I will let him kill you, and I fucking help him. You aren't messing with the same girl you loved slapping around Ken. I will bury your fucking ass if you keep this up. And trust me, no one will ever find your pathetic ass."
He just stared at her with that glazed eyed expression, nodded, and passed out.
Cris just glared at him a long moment, then pulled a rope out of her pack which was on the ground not far away. Swiftly she tied him up, then tied him to Beast. Then, slowly and painfully, she pulled herself up onto the bare back and guided the large horse back to the house...dragging Ken behind them.
She knew she would need a place to put the ass to keep him out of trouble while she figured out what to exactly do with him...and she knew the perfect place.
