"O- okay… I can't walk any further…" Icy said as Ivy helped her.
"Hmm… Yeah. I think we're far enough. Lets take a rest." I told them.
Icy instantly sat down and held her leg, shaking softly.
"Ivy. We need to try and get this cleaned and fixed quickly." I said.
"Yeah, I'm afraid she'll get an infection." He replied.
"Yeah… So we need to find something to help her. Do you have any medical supply?" I asked.
"Sadly no. I really wish I did…" He said.
"Damn. Okay, okay, um. Icy told me about you two being able to create healing herbs from plants for something." I said.
"That is true. But without any plants we need, it's pointless." He said.
"Well what kind of plants do you need?" I asked.
"Even if I say, it'll be useless since I hadn't seen much plants here." He said.
"Alright, we need to leave this place. Pick her up and lets rush to our starting location… I've had enough of this place." I said.
"Same." Ivy replied and picked Icy up.
Icy let out a small whimper while Icy picked her up but luckily didn't make too much noise. I was still afraid that they'll track us if we make any type of noise. I told Ivy this as he agreed to take it slow. He carried Icy on his back as Icy tried her best not to make too much noise.
"Don't worry, Icy… We'll be back home soon. I hope." I said.
Icy closed her eyes and shook, nodding her head as Ivy kept her close.
"We'll be there soon, okay, Icy? Just keep your arms around me." Ivy said.
With Ivy carrying Icy, I decided to drop back so they were in front of me. I did this just to make sure they don't fall behind or if something happened like being chased again. If we were chased, I still had the butterfly knife. Of course, it'll probably not do anything, but maybe I can somewhat delay the Pokemon by stabbing it. This bothered me since I didn't really want to injure anything, but if it comes down to it, I will ram the tiny knife into something. It was clearly sharp enough to cut skin. Even though I didn't really want to do anything like that, I placed the knife in my back pocket. I let out a sigh and looked around slowly. It was dark and fog began rolling in.
"Guys…? This fog doesn't feel natural." Ivy suddenly spoke.
"Yeah… Lets just stay close, okay?" I replied, feeling an odd feeling the moment he said that.
"Not planning on running off." Ivy said.
Nodding at him, I continued walking right behind them. I looked down and looked at Icy's leg which was soaked in blood.
"Damn. We need to hurry…" I told myself.
The fog at this point started getting very dense as I could only see only feet in front of me. With the very limited line of sight, I decided to press against Ivy.
"We should just stay like this. This fog just feels… Odd… Very strange…" I said.
"Good thinking. I've seen enough horror movies where Pokemon disappear the moment you lose sight of them in fog." Ivy said.
"Heh, yeah." I replied, chuckling softly since it was true.
Looking forward, I continued to press my body against Ivy, walking slowly through the fog. It was very eerie since the fog deafened all sounds about thirty feet away. Every sound within that distance appeared muffled when you focus onto it. As I thought about the fog, I suddenly stopped as Ivy stopped too.
"Crap… Do you know where to go?" I asked.
"Uh." Ivy looked to the side.
"This is bad. How far was that factory from our start point?" I asked again.
"I… Don't know. I think it was at least three or so miles." He said.
"Okay, um. Lets see. I don't want to wander mindlessly in the fog and get all mixed up and confused…" I said.
"Yeah, this really sucks. Maybe we can find a building to rest in. Wait until the fog clears." He said.
I agreed with this idea since it was dangerous walking through this fog. So we kept an eye out for some kind of building. Any building. Sadly, it wasn't that easy since from the distance we could see, we were nearly running into trees and the ground was grass and dirt. So I assumed we were in a damn forest. This somewhat annoyed me as we continued walking slowly, avoiding trees and stumps and other hazards.
With me managing to avoid everything, Ivy wasn't so lucky as I heard him inhale deeply. I looked back to notice Ivy's leg stuck in some vines with some tiny thorns.
"Yikes… You good?" I asked.
"Y- yeah… Just got tangled. N- need to try and…" He closed his eyes and pulled his legs forward.
Ivy bit his lip as he breathed quickly. He pulled hard as I heard ripping and soon the vines came loose and he launched forward about a foot before falling flat with Icy on his back. Icy strained her scream and held her leg.
"C- crap." I said.
Walking up to them, I noticed Icy's leg bleeding heavily. Ivy slowly stood up as Icy remained on the floor, crying softly.
"D- damn it. Whatever you did reopened the wound." I said.
Ivy quickly looked at her and noticed the blood before picking her up quickly.
"This is bad. Really bad… We need to find somewhere to take shelter, fast…!" He sounded scared.
"Yeah, we need to hurry before she bleeds out or something." I said.
Ivy nodded and quickly ran through the forest. I followed closely as he held Icy close while she tried holding the wound to stop the bleeding. All the blood soaking her leg and paws made me feel bad. I was used to seeing blood, but I didn't want to think of those events so I just focused on finding a place. We just continued running and running and unfortunately, I ended up ramming into a wall. The amount of force by running into it took the air out of my body as I bounced back and fell onto the ground, gasping softly. Ivy stopped quickly, nearly stomping on me.
"You okay?" He asked.
Slowly sitting up, I held my head and groaned.
"Y- yeah…" I replied.
Getting to my feet slowly, I looked at the wall that I have ran into. The wall appeared to be wooden.
"It's a cabin…!" Ivy suddenly exclaimed.
Looking at him, he motioned over to a door. He reached over and opened the door, looking surprised.
"Yes…! It's unlocked too." He said.
"Well, hurry. Lets get in then." I replied.
Ivy nodded and ran in as I followed. Once in, we closed the door as the fog was finally cleared from our vision. I was glad as I looked around to noticed just some beds and other things. It was a kitchen with nothing much, bathroom and bedrooms. Once I looked over the house, I walked up to Ivy.
"This seems perfect for now." I said.
"Yeah. Clean beds and for some odd reason… The water is running." Ivy said.
"Running water? Oh yes… I am glad for that. I hadn't taken a shower in a while." I said.
"Just check that it isn't mud. If it isn't… We can really use some clean water to help Icy clean the wound somewhat." He said.
"Okay." I replied.
"Have you checked everything else? Windows? Exits?" He asked.
"There isn't actually many windows. Only three from what I saw. One in each room. For exits… It seems the front door is the only one." I told him.
"Sounds good. The exits seem a bit hard in cause we're attacked… But maybe a window could be an exit." Ivy said.
I nodded and looked around the place. Ivy tended to Icy who laid and continued to cry softly in pain. I felt really bad as I walked up to them.
"Is there a way to help?" I asked.
"Hmm… A lot. We need to stop the bleeding." He said.
Nodding, I looked around for some stuff. There were some blankets on the beds as I took one and walked up to them, placing it next to them.
"Great… Now this is where that knife will come in handy. Cut it up a bit." He said.
Doing so, I pulled my knife out and began cutting it in pieces. I cut them in strings as Ivy took them, tying them around Icy's leg. He continued this until the wound was fully covered. Once it was fully covered, he looked at me.
"This should somewhat stop the bleeding. I just hope we can find a way to close the wound fully…" He said.
"Same. So what's the plan? Staying here or something?" I asked.
"Icy has lost a decent amount of blood in those short minutes. So yeah… Maybe staying here for a little could be good. Get her strength back." He said.
"Yeah… Sounds good. Gives time for this fog to clear as well." I replied.
He nodded and rubbed Icy's head. She shook and looked sick as I sighed.
"Damn… Yeah, give her some time." I said.
"Maybe a day or two could be good for her. So lets just get settled in." He said.
With that, Ivy laid next to Icy as I stood up. I walked to the door and slowly looked out to barely see anything. Sighing, I closed the door and locked it. I then walked back to Icy and sat on a free bed before laying down. Yawning, I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
Waking up about five hours later, I just laid there and stared at the roof. I didn't move at all as I just stared at darkness. The room wasn't any brighter as earlier, still being nearly pitch black.
"Ugh… Running water but no electricity…" I told myself.
Slowly twisting, I laid half off and on the bed before slowly standing to my feet. Stretching, I let out a groan and looked around. I looked at Icy's bed and noticed Ivy wasn't there. Confused, I slowly searched the house but he wasn't around. This freaked me out a little since he didn't leave a note or anything. Once I finished every bit of the house, I started to make my way towards the door. I reached out slowly and noticed it was unlocked.
"Hmm…" I mumbled.
Twisting the knob, I opened the door and peeked out. The fog looked less dense as I could see a bit away. Letting out a sigh of relief, I slowly walked out and started looking around. There wasn't much around as I was unsure where to go. No trace of Ivy was around.
"Huh… Where are you…?" I told myself.
Making my way around the house, I just couldn't find anything.
"Ivy…?" I spoke out quietly.
Nothing replied to me as I narrowed my eyes. I decided to look for ten more minutes, but when I couldn't spot anything in that time, I just decided to go back inside. When I walked into the house, I closed the door and sighed softly while walking back to Icy.
"Don't freak out… I am sure he's okay… Maybe just out searching…" I told myself.
Sitting next to Icy, I gently rubbed her head and closed my eyes. I just continued sitting there and rubbing her head while waiting. The darkness felt unsettling, but I tried my best to not get bothered by it. With my eyes still closed, I slowly laid next to Icy. She gently wrapped her arms around me and somewhat snuggled me. She felt oddly warm and I was worried she would've caught a fever or something.
"I- it's okay… I know she'll be okay…" I told myself over and over.
With those words in my head, I managed to fall asleep...
