Search for a Cure

Within the next few hours, the rangers had arrived back at Andros and Zhane's home planet, KO-35. They had already informed them before they landed about Ashley's condition as they helped moved her out of the ship. There was a bit of time while they doing

their examinations as TJ and Carlos reloaded fuel on top of the ship. Cassie was talking to commander Kinwon about the attack they faced and the fate of the colonists. Zhane had gone off into the city to find Karone by Andros's request. Andros was

in the medical room with Ashley as he watched the doctors do their work. There was only a window causing a distance between the two of them as he had his hand on it. She was still breathing but it was killing him to see her like this, unconscious,

helpless, and weak. Putting his other hand in a fist, he thought to himself, 'I swear to you Ashley, the next time I see that creep. He's going to pay for what he did to you.' Tykwa had been in the room with the doctors as she walked out and approached

Andros.

Turning to see her, Andros asked "how is she?"

"Not well I'm afraid" Tykwa replied. "There's something I need to tell you."

He listened carefully to the information he had to give, what Ashley was going through, and LUCKILY a possible way to see her. Once she was done talking, Andros replied "I understand, thank you."

Tykwa could see Andros was upset by what had happened as she held his arm and replied "don't worry, your friend is strong to be fighting the poison like this. It's also not too late to help her."

"She's one of the strongest people I know" Andros replied. "You should go tell the others what you told me."

Nodding in agreeance, she let go and replied "indeed. I'll be right back."

As she left the room, the commander informed Cassie "I'm sorry about your friend. I should have foreseen the danger before I sent you all down there. I never intended for any of this to happen."

"It's alright, they colony was attacked. We didn't get there in time." Cassie replied. She could see the truth from the commander, but still felt the need as she asked "do you have any idea what that species of insects they were or what

they were doing there?"

Shaking his head, the commander replied "I'm afraid I cannot."

Carlos and TJ seemed to be done with the ship, as they walked over and TJ announced "ship's all fueled up and ready to go."

"So, what do we do now?" Carlos asked.

"Well obviously helping Ashley is our first priority" Cassie asked hitting him with her elbow.

Tykwa soon joined them as she announced "the doctors are done with the examinations on your friend. We're moving her to a room now."

"Is there anything you can do for her?" Cassie asked hoping for any good answer.

Shaking her head, Tykwa replied "I'm afraid I can't guarantee how much we'll be able to do. She could see that Cassie was upset with the answer and worried, as she added "but we'll do everything within our power. We owe you that."

"How exactly can we save her?" TJ requested to know, they all wanted to know the same as Cassie and Carlos stayed silent and waited for an answer.

"Well it's like you informed us, without a cure, Ashley Hammond will die. But an antidote IS possible." The commander replied and explained their situation.

"How exactly do we get it?" Cassie asked.

"It's not that simple, there's not an exact cure." Tykwa responded.

"Nothing is never easy for us, but we'll do what we need to do." Carlos responded.

Tykwa let out a smile and explained "I see your determination. Well if you're really willing to do this, there is a formula that can cure any sickness or injury. It was created by a race of ancient faith healers. Until one day, the formula was were

discovered by Dark Specter. Word spread in the darkness as those with evil intentions that would take the medicine for themselves. To keep their secrets safe, they scattered the ingredients across the galaxy. If you gather the ingredients, you can

recreate the serum and bring it back here to save her."

The rangers took a moment to process the information, they knew that there was going to be a serious risk with the mission.

"I hate to be the bringer of bad news rangers, but you need to keep in mind" the commander added on. "If you succeed you'll be able to save your friend. Failure, you'll be in the hands of dangerous enemies and she won't survive."

"We know the risk" TJ replied. "But we'll take it to save Ashley."

Looking over at TJ, Cassie nodded in agreeance. Then she turned back to Tykwa and asked "where do we go first?"

Tykwa handed her a data card as she replied "take this, it has information on the world's you'll need to go to and what the ingredients are for your search."

"Is Andros still in there with her?" Carlos asked if he was still inside. He was given a nod in response.

"He's already been informed."

"Alright, let him know we're ready to go as soon as he and Zhane get back." TJ replied. The rangers then headed off to the ship to make sure they released ready to depart.

Stepping back into the hospital, Tykwa could see Andros was approaching her from the other direction. As they got in eye contact with each other, she announces "I was about to come back to talk to you. I see you're already headed out."

"The sooner we get going, the sooner we get the formula for Ashley." Andros replied.

"Very wise" she replied. "I wish you good luck."

"Just do what you can to keep her comfortable, and more importantly, keep her alive."

"Of course we will" she promised him. Giving each other a small nod, Andros walked out and left the hospital, leaving Ashley, the woman he cares about behind. Returning to the ship, Andros was about to close the hatch when he stopped, hearing

Zhane yelled out "Andros, wait!"

Turning around, he could see Zhane and Karone running up to him. "Think you were just gonna leave without us?" Zhane asked sarcastically as he stepped on.

"Of course not, you just took forever" Andros replied joking back. Once everyone was on board, he closed the hatch and asked "DECA, everyone on board?"

"Yes, Andros" the computer A.I responded. "All members are on board, they were waiting on your return and ready to head out."

"Good, Karone can I talk with you alone for a minute?" Andros asked.

"Of course" she answered looking at her brother.

Looking at the two of them, Zhane stated "I'll be at the front with the others."

Once the two siblings were alone, Karone announced "I heard about Ashley, I'm sorry."

Andros gave a small nod in return as he replied "yeah, if we're gonna help her, I'm going to need you too."

"What can I do?" Karone asked slightly confused on what she'd be able to do.

Reaching into his pocket, he took out Ashley's morpher as he tells Karone "you're going to need this."

She was caught by surprise as she replies "Andros, I can't take that."

"Yes you can" Andros assures her.

"Andros this is crazy, less than a few months ago I was 'Astronema, the Queen of Evil'. And now you want me to be the replacement of your friend while she's lying in a hospital back home."

"I trust you" Andros promises "and the others do too. You can do this."

After taking a minute to look at the morpher, Karone gave him a nod and replied "okay brother, I'll take it." Receiving the morpher, she strapped it around her right arm.

With Karone wearing the armor, Andros takes her hand and says "come on, let's go meet up with the others."

She received his hand as they made their way to the bridge. Cassie was trying to set in the coordinates to their destination in. Seeing Andros and Karone, she said "there you are. Now hopefully we can get going."

"Is there a problem?" He asked in returns. They couldn't afford any technical difficulties or waste any time.

"Andros, it appears that this first planet is not in my archives" DECA explained. "Therefore, I cannot set a course."

"Cassie, try the data card Tykwa gave you." TJ suggested.

"Right" she replied as she hooked it in. Seeing that it was working, Cassie then announced "alright, from the looks of this. We're going to a planet called Yahven-4, first."

"Alright" Andros replied taking a look at the navigation system. "DECA, set us a course on the fastest possible route."

As the A.I system followed its instructions, the rangers were off. With a determination in their mission to save their friend Ashley's life.

Meanwhile at the furthest edges of the Galaxy, Blyznark had returned to his master to report what had happened hours before. She did not seem pleased as she had her fingers clenched in the armrests of her throne. "So let me get one straight, you

defied my orders to take prisoners, engaged the power rangers. FAILED to destroy them and poison their leader!"

"Yes" he replied knowing what his punishment would be.

Standing up, she smacked him across the face as she yelled "you idiot!"

He rightfully took the hit and tried to defend his actions as he said "I have them wounded. Give me another chance and I shall finish the job."

"It's too late. Their long gone by now." But then she took a moment to think as she said "unless … yes. Get my 6 of your 12 generals."

Bowing, Blyznark replied to his instructions "yes my queen." He said then flew out and shortly returned with the other insects as they all stood firmly in front of her.

As she walked back and forward, the queen ordered "your fellow soldier engaged the power rangers and was unsuccessful to defeat them. However, he did manage to fatally wound one of them. Now, it shall be your ask to finish the others off. Blyznark

has poisoned the yellow ranger, the others will search across the stars for a cure. STOP them before they can get what the ingredients they need. Destroy the rangers if they stand in your way, and mostly likely. They will."

The six understood their instructions as they said in unison "yes, my queen!" Then flew out to fulfill their orders, leaving the queen alone as she maniacally laughed.
