(3/21/20)
What's this? Twice in one week? How was that possible? Well I'll tell you. It's because we are stuck indoors and I am sick. So this leaves me with very little to do and now that I am better I can dedicate more time to this. Although looking after a cranky 4 year old bored out of his mind is starting to test me. I do hope to continue the ability to update more regularly though.

(3/27/20)
I am so sorry to say that since my son will start his online classes I can no longer update twice a week as I had wished. I will probably start updating on the weekends now to have more time. So look to the weekends from now on. I am uploading this since I had it done already so I won't post again this weekend.

Disclaimer: I am sadly in no way the owner of any of the Harry Potter franchise except for my own characters and this plot.

(September 1st 1990) (Gringotts living caverns)

Harry was woken up by his alarm bright and early, a little after sunrise. (Not that he could tell) He had been waiting for this day to come and now that it was he felt nervous. His foster mother came in and helped him get ready for a busy day. He was dressed in his best clothes since his foster parents knew the Director would be coming in many times to update them all. After a quick breakfast Harry was walked into a dwelling that housed their 'Headquarters' for the entire endeavor. The room he was being walked into they had dubbed 'The Eagle Eye'. Harry had made a comment once about the bank when he was given a discreet tour and asked where the surveillance room was. Once he explained what he meant the workers had been thrilled with the idea and sent out human employees to get more information on them from the mundane world. They had created their own in a few days with disillusioned mirrors placed in discreet but high traffic areas of the alley and inside the bank. They had big plans to expand on them if they worked out for this situation.

Each wall on the outside of the bank as well as the high point of the building had a mirror placed on it. Harry loved to be inside this room just so he could see the Alley. He loved being able to see the magical world. It ached that he had been denied this for years but he pushed those thoughts away. Today would ensure he never had to suffer again.

He made his way out of the room and over to the large boards on display in the center of the dwelling. All the boards had pictures and papers displaying many different parts of the 'battle plan' the goblins had set up on his behalf. Goldfang had volunteered to help them because of Adrianna and as having been the goblin who brought the case to the attention of the Director. The Nation was mostly behind Harry. Although they loathed giving a human sanctuary they knew it was given to an underage child who had suffered abuse my multiple people and that had swayed most of them. Many called for blood.

Harry walked over to the board dedicated to the Dursley's and grinned. He wondered how they had been getting along without him as their 'maid'. He watched as three dots moved about the blueprint of their home. A larger map to the side showed all of Surrey and their placement on it as well. It would move in real time to them. They had tagged the Dursley's earlier to ensure they could not get away.

The next board had a smattering of locations and notes but they all pertained to Dumbledore. That one he was told would begin to fill in as the case progresses. They were not going to take any chances with the old man and had many eyes and ears out on him.

The third board was the largest and had a rundown of the ministry on it along with the key players they expected to get involved. The last board was written in goblin and although he recognized some of the photos he had no clue what they all meant so he left it alone. For now he would settle with knowing what was on the others. If Harry had been older and knew what all the boards meant then he would have been terrified for the humans outside of the bank walls. The goblins had information on things they shouldn't be able to get.

All activity ceased causing him to turn around and focus. The Director had walked in with his guards and Harry quickly greeted him as was custom. The director made his way to the head seat on a large round table and instructed everyone else to do the same. Harry took his assigned seat and waited. Once the Director knew everyone was seated he waved his hands and a large cube descended from the ceiling. It shimmered slightly and three things appeared on each side. One half of a side displayed the time, the other two displayed the live footage from the Dursley's home and the ministry feed.

"I wanted you all to be able to watch as everything happened since we do not have enough space for everyone in the 'Eagles eye'. This way you may all watch from here as we display them on the cube." The Director said with a wicked grin. The goblins around them laughed as they looked at the cube.

Harry smiled at the Director in gratitude. Although he may not as much enjoyment from this as them he was still thankful for everything being done for him.

"Now." The Director boomed and silence followed. "The owls are all being fed and watered before they are released to the masses. At four sharp they will all be released into the air no doubt giving the people in the alley quite a shock." He grinned. It was not a nice grin.

"The presses are working at full capacity to finish the rest of tomorrow's edition as well as the copies we will distribute to the other branches in Europe. There will be no way for the Ministry to keep this quiet." He said with satisfaction. They had hypothesized that the ministry would try and contain the story to their islands. Sadly for them the goblins did things differently.

"What of the rest of the branches Director?" A goblin said after raising their arm.

"The rest can request them. We will only focus on Europe for now." The Director replied.

"The Dursley's (he sneered the name) will be getting an early morning. Our people have already delivered the paperwork and we have word that police are on their way now as well as social services."

Everyone began to look towards the cube in excitement. They wanted to watch as the Dursley's were arrested on their front lawn for all the neighbors to see. The goblins had ensured a spectacle would be made once they heard how 'normal' they believed themselves to be. They were going to make everyone involved in the abuse pay, from the Dursley's, the boys who picked on Harry to the school that did nothing. Everyone would know they let the abuse happen and did nothing.

The Director, Goldfang, Harry and a few high ranking goblins made their way to the 'Eagles Eye' as the rest of the goblins crowded around the cube that now displayed the 'Dursley's' setting in full.

"Thank you for this Director." Harry said as they passed the doorway.

"There's no need to thank me child. You needed help." The Director said diplomatically.

Harry smiled warmly at him. (With a closed mouth) A look of mischief took over as he said in a 'smaller' voice.
"Thank you Grandfather."

All the goblins froze when the Director stopped walking once he heard Harry. For a moment said boy became scared he had crossed a line when the Director began to laugh uproariously. The rest of the gathered goblins chuckled in response. (A little nervously)

"So I am child, and by my own doing." The Director said as he laid a hand on Harrys shoulder. The boy still had to suppress a flinch which was noticed by the sharp eyed goblins.
"All the more reason to rain down our wrath upon those who have wronged you." He said fiercely.

Harry blushed slightly and nodded. No more was said as they took their seats and watched as the Surrey police arrived on Privet Drive.

(September 1st 1990) (#4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey)

Vernon Dursley was having a wonderful Sunday morning. At least it would have been wonderful had something not suddenly woken him up at an ungodly hour. Petunia was at his side barely waking up as well since her indulgence in last night's wine had dulled her senses slightly. The knocking was heavy and constant enough that it triggered Vernon's short temper. He heaved himself off the bed grumbling about rude folks waking up normal people at an ungodly hour. Petunia was lagging behind him as she fetched her robe. Dudley was fast asleep snoring up a storm in his room after going to bed late.

Upon reaching the door Vernon yanked the door open as another set of knocks was beginning.
"WHAT!?" He yelled as he startled the person on the other side.

The scene that met Vernon's eyes caused him to falter as three police vehicles were parked outside his home. There were two officers on his doorstep, three more officers were down the drive and one woman in plain clothes. His mind processed his at light speed as his focus was drawn back to the two officers in front of him. Both were the biggest of the five and both looked mad as hell.

"Vernon Dursley?" The officer to the left said.

"What-. Yes. I am Vernon Dursley." He said as his mind tried to comprehend what was going on.

"We need you and your wife to come with us. We have a warrant for both of your arrests." The same police officer said as the one on the right kept their eyes on him.

"What? There has to be some mistake. We have done nothing wrong." Vernon said as he realized what had been said to him.

"There is no mistake sir. Please come with us quietly. There's no reason to make a scene." The same officer said once more in a stern way.

"Absolutely not. I have done nothing wrong. I am an upstanding citizen." Vernon blustered, his face turning red.

"Vernon, what is going on?" Petunia said as she finally reached the doorway. Her eyes grew wide as she took in the people on her doorstep. Her long neck allowed her to see the others as well.

"Are you Petunia Dursley?" The same officer asked.

"Yes, I am. Is everything alright?" She asked as she clutched her robe. The amount of officers on her lawn was not a good sign. Oh god what will the neighbors think?

"No mum. We have an arrest warrant for you and your husband. You need to come with us now." The officer repeated. He was getting tired of playing nice but while he had no problem in hurting the whale of a man in front of him he would not hurt the woman so he held himself in check.

"What. No. We are normal people. You must have the wrong house." She said as she took a step back in fear. This was not happening to them.

"Mum, this warrant will be carried out whether you want it to or not. You will both accompany us to the station whether by your own free will or by force." He said seriously as his partner put his hands on his cuffs.

Fear ran down both of the Dursley's spines as time passed. They were being arrested. On their doorstep, in front of everyone, like criminals.
Realizing that their neighbors were most likely watching made Petunia take a quick look around. Sure enough all the windows nearby were fluttering as her neighbors watched, a few were openly staring from their front doors.

"What are we being charged with?" Petunia asked weakly. She held onto Vernon's arm as she tried to calm him down. The last thing they needed was her husband flying into a rage. Things had been better since the boy disappeared.

The officer sighed, he knew it was going to be one of 'those' cases now.
"You are both being charged with: Child abuse, child neglect, child abandonment, failure to report a missing child, possible kidnapping of said child and false imprisonment." He rattled off in monotone. The veins on the side of his head were pounding though. He watched the Dursley's closely as he told them the charges.

Petunia turned pale then green. The day she had always feared had finally come. She wished they had left the boy in an orphanage now. Vernon however was turning red then finally purple by the time the officer was done. All his mind could comprehend was that once more his life was being ruined by that freak. A freak that should have never been allowed to step foot into his home.

"How dare that little freak cause trouble for us!" Vernon roared.

"Vernon calm down." Petunia said as she grabbed his arm harder trying to snap him back to reality. This was not the time or place to lose his temper.

"Sir if you down calm down we will have to force you to the ground until you are no longer a threat." The same officer warned. Secretly he was hoping the man would be stupid enough to fight him.

"We allowed that freak into our home and this is how he repays us?!" Vernon yelled as he lost his temper.

"Vernon please, the neighbors." Petunia pleaded.

Vernon pushed her off his arm and accidently pushed too hard causing her to fall. That was when the officers moved in and tackled him onto the floor. Vernon fought back on instinct and in need to hit something. His usual punching bag not being around had left him feeling a loss.

Petunia wailed and tried to move in to help her husband but she was quickly held back by the sole female officer there who gave her a glare that stopped her. She could only watch as her husband was cuffed face down on her front hallway. She was so engrossed with what was happening that she failed to hear the creaking on the stairs.

"Mommy?" A pale and shaken Dudley asked as he watched his home be invaded by the police.

"Duddy-kins." Petunia said as she launched herself towards her son and held him. What is going to happen to my baby?

"What is happening?" Dudley asked as he watched three officers lift his father off the floor to a standing position.

"It's just a misunderstanding diddums. We will get this all sorted out." Petunia said as she held her son close.

"I'm afraid you need to come with us now mum." The female officer said as she watched her partners escort the large man to one of the cars. She held her cuffs for emphasize.

"What about my son? Who is going to take care of him?" Petunia asked shrilly. She did not want to be separated from him at all.

"There's a social worker here who will stay with him until someone you trust can come and take him in." The officer replied.

Petunia was about to protest the social worker until she heard the rest. And really she was in no place to protest. If she did then she would leave her son without anyone to care for him. She begrudgingly nodded her head and held her son.

"I need to call his aunt to come and get him. She is the only family we have left." She told the officer.

"He needs to be dressed and ready to leave with his aunt. This house will be shut down during the investigation. The social worker and an officer will need to be there when he begins to pack." The officer said.

"Is that really necessary?" Petunia asked in dismay. It was getting harder to breathe.

"Yes mum." The officer said with finality.

"I will contact my sister in law then. May I get dressed properly afterward?" Petunia said then asked with a snide edge.

"You may so long as I am there to ensure you do not get rid of any evidence." The officer said with a tone to her voice as well telling Petunia to cut her crap.

"Very well. Dudley, look at me. I need you to go and get changed quickly okay. Mommy has to go to the police station and get this all straightened out." Petunia said to her scared son. She hoped they fed him properly while Marge got there.

"Okay mom." Dudley said and made his way upstairs.

"My bedroom is this way." She said to the female officer who followed her up the stairs.

Petunia prayed everything could be resolved soon but the pit of dread only grew. Curse that old fool.

(Time skip)

Petunia was able to contact Marge who was incensed at what was happening. She swore she would call her friends to help straighten things out, much to her relief and was on her way to get her nephew. She would not allow Dudley to be with any social worker or foster home. Who knows what kind of degenerates they are filled with, right?

After a tearful and much too short goodbye to her son Petunia followed the officer outside where she nearly flinched with the amount of neighbors now openly standing near her home on the sidewalk. They would have to move after this for sure. Dudley stayed inside with the social worker who quickly distracted him with the television as they waited for his aunt to arrive.

The police in the meantime began to close off the property to everyone else and began to take preliminary photos and notes for their case.

(September 1st 1990) (Gringotts, Eagles Eye)

Harry watched in silent tears as his uncle was forcefully led away by police in his pajamas in view of the entire neighborhood. He continued to watch silently as his aunt walked out not long later fully dressed with her face in a stoic mask. His emotions were flying in all directions as he processed what was going on. They had been arrested. They were taken away. They would never come near him again. A hand rested on his shoulder jolting him out of his thoughts.

"It will be alright child. They will pay for what they did." The Director told him in the eye as the other goblins gave them privacy by moving away.

"Am I doing the right thing?" Harry asked in a small voice. He wished he felt better after seeing that but he didn't. He felt so alone, so unwanted.

"Yes." The Director said sternly. "They had no right to do that to you. Children are precious, they should be loved and well taken care of."

"Why didn't the love me?" Harry's voice cracked as he asked the question he had always wanted the answer to out loud. He began to sob as he let his emotions out.

Years of biting hunger, bitter cold and piercing pain. Years of wishing he was with his parents on the other side. Years of wishing he could be better just so he could be looked at with love too. It all came out. He didn't know when it happened but he found himself in the arms of the Director himself after he regained his wits. He tried to scramble off only to be stopped.

"Let it out child. Let it all out, grandson." The director said.

Harry sobbed and held the goblin who had giving him a safe haven. He held onto the man who although an entirely different species showed him kindness and protection. Something his own flesh and blood never did. Harry cried for all he had lost.

(September 1st 1990) (Two streets away)

Arabella Figg slept in blissful ignorance through the entire spectacle occurring a few streets away. She had taken a painkiller the night before to help with an injured leg and slept through the entire thing. She would not know of the scandal happening in the neighborhood until much later but by then it would be too late to warn the headmaster.

Albus Dumbledore watched with a smile on his face as his clock chimed 11 a.m. marking the departure of the Hogwarts Express from Kings cross station. Another year of fresh students was on their way to begin their magical education under his tutelage. He popped a lemon drop into his mouth as he sighed in contentment. Just one more year to go now. One more year and the boy would be under his watchful eyes for the next seven years. He would ensure he grew up embodying everything to do with the light side. The perfect little Gryffindor to lead his fellow peers into battle against Tom and his forces. A symbol for the light. A perfect soldier.
Albus smiled serenely as he gazed out his window a top his tower. Yes, it was almost time.

In the perch in the far edge of the room stood Fawkes with a mournful look on his face as he watched his companion head closer to the dark. He had always danced on the edge but this time he was too close. If only he hadn't let his guard down and left himself vulnerable. Now he couldn't leave even if he wished to.

That's it! Well not really, that it for now. I know I'm mean but I did say I would be spacing them out since I have to cover a lot of material. Otherwise a chapter covering the entire day would be about 20,000 words long and that would be a bit much. Maybe for the epilogue but not a normal chapter.

I will try and get the next posted by the beginning of next week so none of you have to wait too long.
As always don't forget to follow, fav and review. :-)
