An ambulance had arrived. They watched at Carol was placed inside, and driven away.
The plaza became crowded, many people started questioning Fink. She didn't want to talk, it made her uncomfortable. "Hey, stop asking her these questions. Can't you see she doesn't want to talk about it?" Fink looked up, and saw Rad.
The crowd walked away, and Fink frowned. "You okay..?" Rad asked. "I..I don't really know. I hope she's okay." Fink said. Enid walked over to them, and spoke. "Sorry they were crowding you like that."
Fink didn't mind anymore. They were gone, and that's all that mattered. Rad started looking around. "Where's..Tko..?" He asked. "He's in the store. You should probably wait a little while before talking to him." Fink said.
Tko was in the bathroom. He turned on the faucet, and rinsed his hands off. The blood stained the water, and he looked away. He looked in the mirror, he had mascara marks running down his cheeks. He wondered if he always looked like this when he cried.
He wondered if she was still alive. All he could see was her falling to the ground, it wouldn't leave his head. Even if he started thinking about other things, it kept coming back.
He wondered how it would've been if he stayed back. She would have kicked Shadowy..or Venomous's butt. That was the main thing that bothered him. Venomous was the hooded figure who took him.
Once again, Venomous lied. He tried to kill his mom, and he probably would've gone for him next. So much guilt was building up inside of him, he needed Carol. He needed her to tell him that everything's gonna be alright, but she can't.
He laid down on the floor, and curled up in a ball. The thoughts kept growing, he wanted it to stop. He wanted to scream, cry, destroy, but in the end he stayed down. He didn't want to make anything worse.
An hour later, Fink walked up to the bathroom door. She knocked, and waited for a response. "Tko..?" She pushed it open, then spotted Tko. He was asleep. She turned the faucet off, then called for Gar.
He came in, then sighed. He picked Tko up, and the three went to his car. On the way home, they were silent. They all thought it was going to be a happy day, but it all turned to despair. Just when life was becoming good, their happiness was taken away.
A few days had passed. Tko and Fink were sitting in a hospital waiting room with Gar. A doctor called for them, and lead them to a room. When they made it to the room, Tko stiffened. Fink looked at him, and frowned.
"It's okay Tko, there's no reason to be afraid." She gave a reassuring smile. They walked into the room, and saw Carol lying in a bed.
"She barely made it. If you didn't stop the bleeding when you did, she wouldn't have made it." The doctor said. Gar nodded, and the doctor left the room. Tko started at Carol, she was somewhat okay.
He wanted her to wake up, and he wanted to apologize. They don't know how long she would be out, or if she would ever wake up. Tko sat down by her bed, and Fink sat with him. "We..hope you're doing okay, Carol." She said.
It was a slow day the bodega. Recently, every day had been slow. It made sense, more people would be terrified to come after what happened. Rad and Enid hoped that Fink and Tko would come, but they never did.
"Do you think they'll come today?" Rad asked. "Probably no-" The doors opened. They looked towards them, and saw Fink and Tko standing there. "Hey." Fink said. Rad smiled at them. "You two okay?" He asked.
Fink nodded, then Tko walked towards the break room. They watched as he went inside, and shut the door. "What about him?" Enid asked. "I..I don't really know. He hasn't talked at all, and he sleeps most of the time." Fink said.
"What about Ko?" Rad asked. "I don't know about him either." They all frowned. Fink didn't mean to ruin the mood, but they didn't mind. "What even happened?" They asked.
"I think Shadowy did it.." Fink said. They gave confused looks, they didn't know who Shadowy was. Fink pulled out his pow card, and handed it to them. "I never heard of him before.." Enid said as she examined the card.
They handed it back to Fink, then she walked towards the break room. She opened the door, and saw Tko sleeping in a chair. "Tko.." She shut the door, then sat down by him.
She wanted to help him so bad, but she wasn't there. He saw the whole event, of course it would hurt him the most. She wishes he wouldn't blame himself, because it wasn't his fault. Carol would have told him that, they all needed her.
Tko woke up on his bed. He looked around, and saw Ko sleeping. "Ko, wake up." He said. Ko still slept, so he threw a pillow at him. "Hmm..?" Ko woke up. He looked at Tko, who was crying.
"Aw.." Ko pulled him into a hug. "What happened..?" He asked. "We went to visit her at the hospital." Tko said. "Is she okay..?" They pulled out of the hug, and Tko nodded. "She was asleep?" He nodded again.
"Hey, Tko. Don't blame yourself, it wasn't your fault." Ko said. "Yes it was my fault. If I just listened, if I stayed back.." "If you stayed back she still would have died. You stopped the bleeding, and she's alive." Ko cut him off.
"You don't get it..it's not just that. He was trying to kill me, I was the target. Mom would've been safe if it wasn't for me." Tko said. "Tko.." "And the worst part about it..is that DAD TRIED TO KILL HER!" He shouted.
They both understood that meant Venomous was trying to kill them. It was upsetting to think about how he could just kill them like that, and without hesitation. "I'm sorry for yelling at you, I'm gonna go." Tko said.
"Don't worry, it doesn't bother me. At least you're talking to somebody this time." Ko gave a smile. Tko didn't understand, Ko was able to stay so positive even at a time like this. He was glad, that positivity reminded him of Carol.
They hugged one last time, and Tko left.
When he woke up, Fink looked at him and smiled. "You okay?" She asked. "Yeah. Let's go home." They got out the chairs, and headed out of the store. "Bye Rad, bye Enid, it was nice to see you again." Fink waved, They waved back, and frowned.
On their way to Gar's car, Tko stared across the street. He saw Boxman standing outside, and a car pulled up to the front. The door opened, and Venomous stepped out.
A wave of anger hit Tko, and he stated running to Boxmore. "Tko!?" Fink called after him. He ignored her, the only thing his mind was fixated on was fighting Venomous.
"It's been a while PV! How've you been?" Boxman asked. "I've been fine." Venomous said, as they began to walk into Boxmore. "Did you hear what happened?" Boxman asked. "Yes, how unfortunate."
Before the got inside, Venomous was tackled by Tko. "What in cobs-" "YOU JERK!" Tko shouted. He stared at Tko with confusion. "YOU HURT MOM, AND THEN YOU JUST CASUALLY COME BACK HERE!? WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!?"
"What are you talking about!?" Venomous question. "I SAW YOU! YOU WERE WEARING THAT STUPID DISGUISE! YOU WERE GONNA KILL ME TOO WEREN'T YOU!?" Tko shouted. "WHAT DISGUISE!? I NEVER HURT YOUR MOTHER, I WASN'T EVEN HERE!"
Tko growled, he thought he was trying to trick him again. "I don't know why you're angry at me. I did nothing! I've left you alone, I understand you don't want to come back. Why are you blaming me.." Venomous said.
"I unmasked you..you were the same figure who took me. Everything that happened, was you." Tko said. "Figure..?" Venomous was just more confused, and Tko became confused as well.
Did he really not know?
