Bleach_DC_Elseworlds: Ride the lightning.
Disclaimer: Don't anything that you see here, cool? Cool.
So here we go, yet another ficlet to share with the world.
Now we get related to Flash because I think speed is something associated with Ichigo, or at least that's how I see it.
Anywho, here we go!

Karakura hospital…
"So, what happened to him?" Yoruichi asks with a worried tone at the white-haired doctor, one Ryūken Ishida standing to her left, while they watch from the hallway window as Isshin Kurosaki looks at his unresponsive son with an air of dread and guilt while his sisters held one another and silently cry at the sight of it.
They could feel three spiritually aware teens and their friends waiting further down the hall as they let family had their moment but by no means were taking the news any better from what the two former captains had seen when they came after hearing the news.
Tatsuki was holding a crying Orihime alongside Sado while Uryū sat next to the raven-haired karateka's left with both hands clasped tightly. Keigo was pacing like crazy and Mizuiro just stared at nothing in particular as he sat but his rapidly bouncing knee told them just what was going through his mind.
Her ever-present companion, Kisuke Urahara, had the decency to look away from the family to look at the elder Ishida for his answer.
"He was struck by lightning and doused in chemicals, by all logic and reason he shouldn't be in a coma. To be frank with you he should be either suffering 2nd and 3rd-degree burns plus bouts of nerve damage at best or worst, being given a hero's welcome into the ranks of the Gotei 13." Ryūken's dry response earns him a glare from the woman before she looks back at her former student.
"Orihime must have done a heck of job then." Kisuke comments but frowns as the doctor shook his head in the negative.
"The girl never got a chance to use her power on him."
"But he looks…!" The part-time feline exclaims only to be cut off.
"I don't understand it either, was he brought here burned from the lightning and chemicals? Yes, he was, I can attest to that as I was there to oversee his treatment personally. During the course of his arrival and treatment, his body showed accelerated healing on a level beyond human, of course, to further compounded the oddness of the situation our equipment couldn't get a proper reading or started to short itself out due to a sudden power surge." As he spoke, he handed Urahara the boys' file.
The man paled considerably at what he read.
"What? What is it Kisuke?"
"His heart stopped multiple times!?" He asked the doctor while his friend let out a gasp of horror and looked back at the boy she had trained.
"The machines say it did but there are no signs of trauma from our examinations, and before you ask our equipment is top of the line and up to date while our staff are quite competent." The white-haired doctor preemptively cuts off, mostly to preempt any slight against his hospital and its staff.
"So, the question becomes why would the machine say he did when he didn't?" Urahara muses at the mystery.
"If I would have to guess, I would say the accident has had unforeseen ramifications…" the doctor comments before looking at his patient "…such as that."
Both of the former captains looked towards their quote/unquote student as small arcs of lighting seem to spark around him much to the worry of his family.
"What in the world?" Yoruichi let in surprise while Kisuke eyes narrowed.
"It's happening at irregular intervals, gave the nurses quite the shock both figuratively and literally. I don't know what it is but so far it has done no direct harm to him."
"What do you mean direct harm?" Urahara asks.
"He is burning more calories than normal while at rest, we've had to change IV multiple times now to try to keep his body from consuming itself."
"If you can get me some blood and tissue samples, I can come up with something for that, maybe get Unohana involved as well." The eccentric shopkeep/scientist comments.
"Just don't let that freak Mayuri know or Spirit King knows what that asshole would do to Ichigo." Yoruichi chimes in with a look of warning.
*Not to mention what you, Isshin, The Vizards and half the Gotei who happen to be fond of him would do if anything does happen to him at the hands of my former subordinate.* Kisuke privately thinks to himself as he knows full the consequences for harming a hair on his head.
"I have some readied for you as I felt you would ask." Ryūken comments as he had anticipated such a request.
"How long do you believe he will remain in a come?" Yoruichi naturally asks.
"I have no clue, to be honest with you, this is far beyond anything I have encountered both naturally and supernaturally."
"Could Orihime's powers restore him?" She continues to ask.
"Possibly but at the same time it could do more harm than good with whatever phenomenon is occurring within his body and this strange lighting."
"Then I best get started, the more we know the better chances we have to help him, after all, we all owe Ichigo more than we can ever repay and I for one will do my best repay that debt." Urahara says in utmost honesty, he had already begun work on how to restore his powers before all this, now he was just more motivated to see the teen back in proper form. It was the least he could do for the young hero who had sacrificed much to save them all.
Nine months later…
It was the beginning of autumn and the already signs of the changing of the season were showing as leaves slowly lost their green luster and began to fall and while not quite chilly many were getting ready for the coming cold temperatures.
Walking solemnly amongst all of this was an auburn-haired beauty, Orihime Inoue, who while dressed in a mild manner way a long skirt and sweater still managed to turn heads who gazed upon her.
As had become routine since the incident, as it had been labeled for lack of a better word, she calmly made her way towards the hospital where the young man who held her affection remained in a coma since that terrible moment.
Try as she might she could not stop the pang of hurt every time she thought of that terrible day. Looking back on it she had felt something in the air that day, deep down it felt as if the wheel of fate had begun to spin once more and alter their lives in some impactful way but never did she expect this tragedy to befall the young man who had given so much for so many, it felt both surreal and unfair as she looks back on it…
Flashback…
Orihime sat next to her chem partner for the day, in this case, Sado much to Chizuru's dismay as she got stuck with Uryū and Tatsuki's relief who had been paired up with Keigo much to his. As the professor began to explain what they would be doing for today's experiment her eyes drifted towards her crush who sat with an air of melancholy while staring out the window as rain fell hard against it, almost as if emulating the former Shinigami's mood.
It was no secret amongst those who knew what really happened months ago when the attempted ascension to godhood by one Sōsuke Aizen was thwarted by Ichigo Kurosaki's use of the Final Getsuga Tenshō and Kisuke Urahara's kido that save the town and stop the rogue Shinigami from usurping the throne of the Soul King.
That being said it was not without a price as the teen had completely lost his powers and was nothing more than an ordinary human now, not even run of the mill ghosts were visible to him and frankly, his friends could see it was taking its toll on him every time they had to leave to deal with the restless spirits known as Hollows that frequented the town to feed on the souls of the living and the dead.
She could see the yearning in his eyes to go back out there and fulfill the role of a guardian he so enjoyed. They all tried to help him through this as best they could and with what free time they had from their own lives but to her, it felt like they weren't doing enough.
"Kurosaki-san, could you please retrieve the Sulfuric acid for the experiment as I seem to have forgotten in the shelf, though please be careful as you do so." The teacher requests while the orange-haired boy does as asked and approaches the cabinet where the chemicals are stored.
It was at the moment when he opened its doors that fate took precedence as an out of nowhere a bolt from the heaven's above streaks across from the skies to the ground on a direct course for the classroom at speeds only a few beings could follow.
With its course set the bolt shattered through the glass like it wasn't even there, tore through the cabinets and as it did so energized the substances contained within before shattering the containers and spilling the substances onto the boy before the lighting completed its journey and struck him down.
The students all cried out in shock from the event itself but for a select few they all moved toward the fallen teen who laid on the ground like a wounded animal and no sign of a response from their calls.
Needless to say, this was a day none would ever forget no matter how much they wished to.
End flashback…
The redhead came out of her sad musings as she reached her destination, from there she greeted the staff as she always did and they returned it and let her through. The family and hospital administrator have given her and other acquaintances of the patient permission to visit any time they wished.
Like clockwork, she arrived at the private room assigned to Ichigo and as always took a moment to survey it.
There was a new flower arrangement in a nearby vase, no doubt the work of Yuzu who always bring him fresh flowers despite Karin playfully insisting that it was too girly but never really meaning it.
A picture of the family and one of Masaki which had been brought by Isshin and facing towards the young man so it was one the first things he sees when he woke.
Some unfinished schoolwork more than like left by Uryū, who now is the class rep took it upon himself to keep the orange-haired youth educated even though he was coma.
She didn't see it around but knew that Sado kept a guitar nearby and played songs from both from Mexico and some he learned in Japan to his brother in all but blood.
Tatsuki brought some awards she won in some miscellaneous tournaments she participated in.
Keigo and Mizuiro just kept him company and indulging in their usual antics but more often than not just quietly talked to his still form about how their day went and what they did.
Urahara and Yoruichi visited as well, with the former first bringing a new IV formula to make sure his body didn't consume itself as well as take samples/readings to see how they could wake him up. The latter would either spend time in the room in either form to watch out for her pupil as he lay defenseless, a task she took quite seriously despite the staff attempts to shoo her away when in cat form.
A couple of recent additions were a small rabbit plushie brought on when Rukia managed to come and visit the young man who had become an integral part of her life. Beside it was a get-well card with all the signatures of the SWA written on it plus the addition of Kukaku Shiba's signature as well.
Though not visible the SMA also sent something along the lines of a calendar with images of the SWA with their own signatures and a note from the 8th squad captain saying he hopes he enjoys the material he sent.
Inoue was pretty sure they got a good thumping from the ladies given some of the pictures therein, and while there was nothing full-on nude it still made her wonder how they got a shot of Soi Fon clad only in a towel as she came out of hot spring.
Still, so many had come to see the teen for any change in his condition but left saddened when none came. To Inoue it was a sign of just how much of an impact he made in so many lives.
As has become custom she took a seat on his left and began to talk to him about her day. From what new strange concoction she made for consumption, what she learned from school and what their friends had done, what Hollows she fought alongside the others.
When she had no other topics, she just took to look at his unmoving face, silently whishing he was awake and asking why he was in a hospital room with his signature scowl in place. Despite feeling somewhat embarrassed she ran her hand through his messy hair, she had seen Yuzu do this when their paths would cross and she surmised the younger Kurosaki believed he could feel her touch as she did so.
*Please come back to us Ichigo, we all miss you…I miss you. * She thinks as she continues her ministrations before making a choice, she couldn't last time as she slowly stands and leans towards him, eyes closed and lips pursed.
The feeling of her lips on him was quite literally electric as small spark came but she paid them no mind as she kissed her crush, however when she leaned back and opened her eyes, she found herself staring into his wide brown eyes staring at her own slowly growing grey ones.
"…am I dreaming or did you just kiss me?" He rasps out through his parched throat.
Now there were two paths before her, faint in shock and embarrassment or do the smart thing, power through and rejoice that her desire had been granted.
"ICHIGO!" Option two it was as she shouts in glee and hugged him for all he's worth, tears of joy began to run as she held him.
The boy had no clue what was going on frankly or why he was stuck in a hospital room to begin with. Still from her reaction something had happened to him to get this type of reaction of out of the normally cheerful healer.
*And I still don't why she kissed me. * He idly thinks in such a way that if Rukia, Tatsuki, Yoruichi or Rangiku were present they would scream to the heavens in frustration before slapping the piss out of him.
It didn't help that his other friends arrived just in time to see as the girl in question bawl her eyes out and thank anyone and everyone for this miracle nor having Keigo rush in and also hug him much to his chagrin.
"What the hell happened to me?" He can't help but question out loud.
And despite the weakness in his tone, Uryū must have heard him on some level as he gave him a weak smile.
"Quite the ordeal Kurosaki, one that hopefully will now come to a close."
One week later…
After his awakening and a battery of tests from the doctors, he was finally released to go home. Needless to say, he was left feeling quite detached from everything as it was explained just what happened to him and how long he was in the care of the elder Quincy as explained by his father and friends.
*9 months in a coma after getting hit by a thunderbolt of all things! How do you come back from that? And shouldn't I be more messed up after something that serious? I mean with the exception of feeling hungrier than usual I feel great, more amped up than normal even and why do I have this urge to run everywhere? *
There was also the matter of him being behind in school when compared to his friends, and the changes that took place during that length of time. It left him feeling disconnected if he was honest with himself, more so than the first few months after surrendering his powers to stop Aizen.
Currently, he was walking around town with no clear destination insight in order to distract himself from it all. His inner musings were such he did not see a man in a white shirt and slacks approach, if he did, he would have noticed the look he gave him was less than kind.
It was only through ingrained instincts that allowed Ichigo to duck just as a sword passed where his neck was.
"Hmm, I didn't expect you to dodge but oh well if at first, you don't succeed as they say." The unknown assassin idly comments as he goes for another slash at the teen.
What proceeded was a deadly game of cat and mouse as the teen weaved around the would-be killer whose blade drifted dangerously close at times, but the boy knew the man was toying with him as years of experience showed how much the man held back.
"Who are you!? Why are you trying to kill me!?" Ichigo demands from his assailant.
"Sorry but the prey doesn't get answers from the hunter." The man replies with a mocking smile as one slash suddenly speeds up and cuts him across the chest, fortunately for Ichigo he had tripped on a stone and fell back leaving only a shallow cut but unfortunately that left him on the ground and at mercy of this assassin.
It was at that point that another turn of the wheel of fate came to pass as everything slowed down for Ichigo, though quite literally in his case as the man swung his blade to decapitate him, while unknown to the teen arcs of lighting began to erupt all over his body as his mind screamed for him to move… and he did as he was suddenly no longer on the ground but behind his assailant.
"What!?" His would-be killer exclaims in surprise before Ichigo takes this chance to land a hard blow to the back of his head faster than a normal human should be and encased in the same lighting as before.
The teen couldn't help but stare at the unconscious form of the unknown man and then back at his fist that still showed the strange lighting that had enabled him to save himself.
*I got get to Kisuke. * Was all he could come up with as he ran towards the Shoten. Though not before long his body began to go faster and faster until it was a blur and then he was just there.
"Kisuke! Open up please!" He shouts as he bangs on the door as hard as he dared.
Lights suddenly blinked to life and out came the store's inhabitants to witness the peculiar sight of Ichigo Kurosaki doing a perfect impression of a lighting ball lamp.
"What hell!?" Yoruichi cried out as she got a look at her young student.
"I need help!" He cried out as fell to his knees.
While Yoruichi went to help him Kisuke's mind raced at the sight.
*Just what has happened to you? * He wonders not for the first time since the accident occurred.
And while this occurred, over in the United States three individuals who were empowered by the Speed Force felt as a scared teen tapped into it and couldn't but wonder who had become a part of their gifted family.
The End…?
A/N: Well as you can see this is just a rough idea of what I feel this crossover would be like.
I mostly base it on comics and cartoons and a very, very small dash of the CW which I will never touch again if I can help it (really do not like those shows, much prefer Titans, Doom Patrol, and Swamp Thing tbh) and of course YJ.
IchiRuki fans will, of course, hate this because of that little scene there but quite frankly they have material to spare so they can deal with me not contributing to the overflow (seriously there is more to this than the actual canon pairing.)
If I ever do pursue it one of the goals would be for Jay, Barry, and Wally to get into contact with him to help him with his powers. Maybe have Ichigo help Wally in turn because I felt he needs more confidence as opposed to being the "slowest" speedster (which is ironic since DC made him THE fastest man alive in an official capacity before they fucked him over in Heroes In Crisis)
Don't know how it would affect the Bleach aspect of things except perhaps make a certain shape-shifting cat green with envy that she is no longer the fastest thing on two and sometimes four legs (Let's face it, folks, the Flash can outrun Superman, Yoruichi is not that far of a stretch and I don't care who this pisses off).
Anywho I will continue to do what I can to provide some entertainment for you all because given current events we all need something to keep our minds from going into stark raving mad with boredom and worry.
Stay safe everyone!
