Harrison's POV
Clouds covered the sky as Harrison and the Rangers stood in a cemetery just inside the city limits. They could have buried Jacob within the forest but he did some research on the boy.
It turned out that Jacob was an orphan. His parents died in a car crash when he was only four years old. After their deaths, he stayed with his uncle.
There wasnt much known about his life with his uncle. Though Harrison wondered if the man was the reason for Jacob's illness. There had to be a reason behind it. Not that it mattered much any longer.
The cemetery they were in was where Jacob's parents were buried at. So they chose to have him buried with his parents. What they did not do was contact the Uncle. If there was anything he knew better than anyone blood didnt make family. Sometimes it was better to ignore the blood ties.
They contacted a priest that Ichigen knew to perform the funeral. The boy's family was highly Christian and they honored it.
For his part, Harrison wasnt really listening to what was being said. His heart hurt at the fact that he lost one of the kids. They were his responsibility as he was their King.
He was supposed to protect them but what could he do when there were illnesses?
The priest waved for him to come forward. It seemed it was his turn to speak to the clan.
With a sigh, he walked up to the podium. He said looking over his clan, "I haven't been here long. To you, I am a King who is trying to become more than just an outsider. It doesn't help that we have just lost one of our own. One I was trying to save but unable to. Jacob, you were a good kid and you will be missed. We will never forget you."
As Harrison moved to leave the podium he felt a spike of aura. It was the aura of the SCEPTER4 and they were just outside the cemetery. He should have known they would hear about their sudden appearance in the city.
Would they try something right now? His clan didnt have the will to fight against them. Not when they were putting one of their own in the ground.
As he passed by Leo to take back his place he whispered, "Blues are at the entrance. Be prepared that they might try something."
Pure hatred that he had never seen before entered the boy's eyes. Several of the Rangers took a step back in fear. They could feel it flowing off of Leo.
The redhead didnt say anything but gave a sharp nod. He was on alert now in case someone tried something.
Harrison wasnt as stupid or naive as many would like to believe to think it was nothing when a few of the clansman closed ranks. Specifically, they closed ranks around him. He heard the whispers from a few of them about forming a guard. A select few that stuck close by his side in case SCEPTER4 tried something.
Harrison mostly do as they wished. Beyond training, there wasn't much else to do. Groups had long since been formed. As a fox scent seeker, he didnt have much in common with the others.
Out of the scent seekers wolves, foxes, and lynxes were the most uncommon. There was a look of anger anytime the lynx set was brought up. It was as if there was something going on that he didnt know about. For the moment he didnt want to push it. Over time he would wear down their resistance on the subject.
Soon the final words were said for the funeral. They had already put Jacob into the ground and the grave filled. Now they would just need to say their goodbyes.
Harrison knew that SCEPTER4 wouldn't just let them leave. No doubt his father would come. What were they going to do about it?
Munakata's POV
Word had reached them that Harrison had resurfaced. The boy was seen a few days before in a hospital. SCEPTER4 had not deployed or interfered in any way.
Instead, they watched from afar to see what was going on. Reisi watched as the young clan lost one of its members. He wanted to help but knew his presence wasnt welcome.
Now they were doing a funeral for the child. SCEPTER4 was watching from afar to keep them safe. HOMRA was still after them for stealing from the second in command.
Reisi watched the children from the side of the main van. If they were any closer the Black Clan would take offense. As they were an official clan he couldn't outright attack them unless they were causing trouble.
This would not stop him from trying to forge a bond with his child. King or not they had bonds of blood. All he wanted was to know his son.
With that thought, the sky seemed to open upon them. Rain poured as if it had been raining all day. It only took a few moments for Reisi to be soaked to the skin.
Awashima asked, "Captain what do you want to do? It seems as if the funeral is ending. If you want to talk to the boy now would be the best time."
Reisi paused considering her words and his options. Then he began to unbutton his jacket. Pulling his off his jacket he unbelted his sword. He handed both to Awashima.
His white undershirt was sticking to his skin. He had to peel it off to roll up his sleeves. This allowed his arm to be bared. With this hopefully, Harrison would hopefully allow him to get close.
Reisi answered once he was done, "Let the go clan itself go unheeded. I'm going to try and talk to him."
"Good luck sir," she responded.
