Hi everyone, thanks for waiting for this Chapter. I hope it doesnt disappoint. Here is another look into September 1st.

(September 1st 1990) (Diagon Alley) (4 p.m.)

The sight of hundreds of owls taking flight from Gringotts caused a massive stir to the shoppers and business owners in the alley. No one had ever seen such a thing. Owls had not gone out in such a large number since the end of the war and even then many chose to spread the word in person. The spectacle however was only beginning as soon as a troop of human employees left the bank with flyers in hand and began to post them all over the Alley, including Knockturn.

Naturally the people crowded around said flyers and then begun to flock to the bank once they saw what was printed. Some would end up buying unnecessary copies not knowing that all business owners in the Alley, sacred 28 members and high ranking Ministry employees would all receive a (single) copy of the advertised paper. The majority however subscribed immediately to the new goblin newsprint dubbed "The Bottom Line" or how it would be later referred to as "TBL" or "The B-Line".

To say that the people of the British Magical community were enraged would be an understatement. There were cries of denial all up and down the buzzing street. People were cursing up a storm as they read on and some even read out loud to others who couldn't get into the bank or were waiting in line. The entire alley was a mess when aurors finally arrived after numerous calls from frantic people reporting various 'crazy' things. The Ministry would be in the same chaotic state in a few minutes leaving the entire building in shambles as numerous people tried to simultaneously get paperwork or hide it. Amelia Bones would be cursing that day for years to come.

The newsprints had done exactly as the goblins had intended. There would be chaos for weeks, if not months, because of them. The goblins inside the bank were smug as they watched the witches and wizards become unglued. Their guards had no problem keeping the people in line once they entered the premises. The addition to extra guards with their large weapons gleaming in the light might have had something to do with it to keep the most frantic in place.

The three tellers working exclusively for the newsprint station had lines that quickly led to the outside of the bank and down the Alley. The giant posters of the front page of the paper hanging behind them gave all the reason why people were lining up.

The-Boy-Who-Lived is The-Boy-Who-Was-Abused!

Harry Potter given Sanctuary at Gringotts Bank!

Harry Potter speaks out against the British Magical Community!

Harry Potter, Savior or Sacrifice?

That was all the Front page could hold given the large headlines printed, not even the tag lines fit.

Businesses began to shut down as owners decided that today they had more important things to do. The owl post was one of the few businesses who remained opened and soon became swamped with angry customers all wanting to get answers.
Soon another swarm of owls took over the sky as letters and howlers were sent out not even an hour after the news was posted.

(September 1st 1990) (Severus Snape quarters) (9 weeks pregnant)

Adrianna and Severus had a fretful night's sleep given the circumstances. The letters from Harry had continued to come but sadly had little to nothing to do with his current situation. Adrianna wasn't resentful though, she just hated not having him near anymore. Who knew a few days with the boy would be enough to fall in love with him.

Quinn popping in and handing over the new newspaper before they ate their breakfast had been confusing until they read the headlines. They had both devoured the paper together forgetting about eating. Neither spoke as they read the information they knew about, and more they didn't, splashed across the pages for all to know. The statement from Harry wasn't very long but the entire thing was printed in larger font and then written about underneath. There was more to the paper as well that they would have found interesting any other day but at the moment they had other concerns.

Adrianna was blown away by what the goblins had done. She was sure them creating a newspaper was a bold move, and probably above board, and would terrify the Prophet. She would bet the Prophet would lose many of its subscribers as well when they couldn't match the Goblins in material and exclusives.

Severus was impressed with the Goblins quick work. They had taken the opportunity to launch their own newspaper that would no doubt make them a fortune. The name they had chosen had also made him want to laugh, it was appropriate. He did not like anything he read though. Knowing the facts and reading them in large print felt different. It made it feel wrong. He knew that Lily would be both incensed at the paper and relieved. He would do his best to ensure nothing like this ever happened to his child or Lily's son again.

The couple sat at their table eating slowly as soon as they were finished reading. It was a lot to take in for both of them. Goldfang had sent a short letter with the paper telling them that no one else would get the paper until 4 p.m. today so they would have to keep quiet until then. Severus had no problem with this at all. He would make sure his anger was well and truly vented to the headmaster and with an audience too. The old bastard had lied to them all for years. He had forced him to break his vow of protection unknowingly. He would pay.

Severus and Adrianna ate in contemplative silence until it was time for Severus to leave. He planned on being near the others when the papers were delivered. He would not miss the opportunity to release his anger on the old fool. Judging from the lack of the headmasters meddling written in the papers today he would guess they were building up to that. Albus Dumbledore was about to fall off his pedestal.

(Later that day in the teachers' lounge, the entire staff had gathered to go over last minute details. A little after 4)

The sight of a parliament of owls swooping into the teachers' lounge had been quite a shock for everyone. Sybil had made a fool of herself along with the new defense teacher. The sight of a newspaper clutched in their claws had them all fearing the worst since The Prophet rarely sent out special editions during the midday. One by one the teachers unburdened the owls and became still as stone.

Albus had lost all color on his face when he had read the headlines that he didn't even notice that it wasn't The Prophet in his hands. His mind was rushing a mile a minute as he tried to make sense of what was going on. Years of planning could not have gone to waste. This had to be a sick joke.
The color on his face was quickly returned by an irate Scott's woman slapping him across the face soundly. Septima had to hold Minerva back from slapping the headmaster again when it looked like the woman wasn't done.

"How dare you Albus Dumbledore! You sat there and told me year after year that that bairn was okay. You told me he was happy. You lying sack of shite!" Minerva screamed at the man in question while Pamona helped Septima hold their friend back. She was a lot stronger than she appeared. Thankfully she had not drawn a wand, yet.

"Minerva I- I." Albus stuttered as he tried to come up with a believable lie to tell everyone. His mind would not respond to him as it was too busy trying to comprehend what was going on.

"You what." A sibilant voice hissed to his other side.

Severus Snape looked like death incarnate with a very impressive dark scowl marring his face. Any warmth that may have been glimpsed at while his new bride had arrived had been wiped from his face. His obsidian eyes gleamed with an unholy fire as he stared at the headmaster from his seat. The newspaper crushed in his hands in his anger. His aura leaked from him in an impressive manner as his anger was finally allowed to be released. He made sure all of it was on display for them now. His magic helping him as the room plunged in temperature. The others began to fear the malevolent energy around their colleague as he gazed at the headmaster with pure loathing. This was a side of Severus Snape they had never seen before.

The headmaster realized he had a very big problem on his hands as he watched all of the darkness in Severus Snape begin to leak out of him in what he was sure was a display of emotional magic. The boy would surely not take too kindly at the mistreatment of Lily's son. His mouth moved but no words would come out. He had nothing.

"I came to you. I came to you to protect her. I begged you to do it. I begged you on my knees and you gave me your word. You failed. You then promised to protect her child. The last living part of her and once more you failed. Worse you have lied for years about the boys' treatment. Did you know? Did you care? Or is he simply another pawn to you? You forced a vow onto me making me a spy in exchange for their survival and you played me for a fool!" Severus roared at the end as he suddenly stood up causing his chair to crash to the floor. A dark look crossed his eyes that caused him to relax his frame. That scared everyone more than they would ever admit.

"I call upon magic to judge my vow." Severus intoned in a calm voice.

Albus' eyes widened as he realized what the boy was about to do. He was about to lose control over another valuable piece.
"Severus please, don't do anything rash." He implored. He could feel his chess board being knocked to the ground by an invisible hand.

"I call upon the ancient powers to judge my bonder.
I call upon magic to free me from a broken promise.
Judge me mother magic and find my truth.
So I say, So mote it be." Severus finished saying as a blinding light engulfed the entire room.

Albus screamed in pain as his magic snapped back on him as the vow he had extracted from Severus years ago broke as it had judged him guilty of breaking his promise. A fire like pain whipped up his arm onto his shoulder on his left arm as his punishment was given. His life had been spared but not his body. Severus grunted as he felt the snapping of his vow occur leaving a burned braid on his left wrist from it. It stung like hell but the lines were small and red. Almost as if a wire had been wrapped too tightly by mistake. But he knew it was the vow being broken leaving its mark on him as well.
He was free.

Severus straightened himself up and glared at the man who had held his leash for longer than the Dark Lord.
"I will return for the sorting feast. Do not disturb me until then." Was all he said as he swept out of the room in a swirl of billowing robes.

The staff left in the room had been struck dumb for the entirety of the events that had just occurred. Not even Sybil had uttered a word. She was however more entranced with the dour man who had just left the room. She almost swooned.

Filius was the first to recover from the impressive and sad displays of magic that had just occurred. The fact that Albus had put the young man under vow and kept him like that for years was unthinkable to him. He did not recognize the man before him.

"I think we all would like an explanation about this now." Filius said as he threw down his paper.

That single action spurned everyone else in the room to give their opinion at once.
Albus Dumbledore had no idea the chaos would just be starting for him. There were many Ministry officials looking to have a word with him.

Severus all but ran back to his rooms as his mind was processing what he had just done. It had been foolish, he could have died if magic had found him unworthy. But he felt it deep in his soul that it would work, so he had trusted his instincts. As soon as his door came into view he opened it quickly and then reset the wards as high as he could. He secured the floo next and called for one of the elves to guard the entrances.

Once inside he made a dash for the enchanted garden where he knew his wife would be.
Sitting on a long and wide lounge outdoor sofa was Adrianna in her usual summer dresses she loved. She turned to him when she heard him approach. She was about to great him when in an uncharacteristic move he scooped her up into his arms and gently spun her around. She squealed in delight and confusion as she tried to hear what he was saying.

When Severus finally lowered her down to the ground he cupped her face in his hands and stared deeply into her eyes. She could see a myriad of emotions dancing in them. Carefully he held up his left wrist to her eye line and her eyes focused on the burn marks of an Unbreakable Vow.

"I'm free." Was all that was needed to be said for Adrianna to jump up and wrap her arms around his neck.

Severus swiftly placed his arms under her bum to lift her higher and not squish her abdomen. He had never felt this giddy in all of his life and here in the privacy of their rooms he would bask in it with the only woman who seemed to truly believe in him. Adrianna began to laugh in delight as she was once more spun around.

"I can't wait for tomorrow to happen." Adrianna said with a smirk.

"Neither can I my dear." Severus said as he placed her back on the ground.

"Make sure he doesn't announce who I am to the masses. Talk to Minerva first, I am sure she will be more than happy to keep him in line tonight." She said with glee.

Severus smiled darkly.
"Of course."

Adrianna straightened her dress once more and grabbed her husband's hand as she led him to the couch she had been occupying.

"What are you doing?" Severus asked as she pushed him down the couch into a laying position. When she straddled his hips his eyed went wide and he tensed. Instead of fear being the dominant emotion in his eyes it was lust. Adrianna counted it as progress.

"I am going to curl into my husband's arms as he tells me all of the juicy details." She said as she slowly slid her leg over him. The visible tenting in his trousers caused her eyes to darken.
"After that, who knows, I'll leave it to the fates." She said as she raised one leg onto his thigh close to his groin. She pushed her breasts onto his side as she made herself comfortable.

Severus could feel his arousal begin to cloud his mind. She was very good at distracting him.
"Bless the fates the." He said after swallowing the drool in his mouth and occluding his lust. She would be the death of him.

The three fates cackled in glee as they watched the chaos spread throughout the British enclaves. Seeing the beginning demise of the infuriating meddler was like sweet ambrosia to them. His path was not fixed yet so they would use caution, but this would be the first blow to his power base. They hoped their other plans for him went as well as this. He needed to be gone so their champion could thrive.

Already things were going their way once the dark knight called upon the Goddess Hecate (Mother Magic) to judge his vow. A nudge they gave him, of course. It had been an impulsive thing but a move that helped them anyways. Now the old fool had lost another pawn in his blasphemous game of life and death.

The fates cheered as the paths they set began to emerge completed. They were unaware of another God watching everything closely as well. They had plans of their own, and the old fool was vital for some. For now they would simply watch as this played out. There was no need to intervene, yet.

Another cliffhanger. What did y'all expect? I can't help myself. This is not the end for the interactions of the staff with Dumbledore. Don't worry, I know some of you may be disappointed I didn't write more but with everyone arriving around 8 at the school I couldn't really spend the chapter writing about four hours and leave out the other stuff. I still have to put in the ministry stuff that must happen first. After that then I can go back. It's all layered in a way that stops me from spoiling other chapters. I don't want to give anything away.

I did also add a little mystery at the end as the fates are being watched. Want to find out whom?
