Still no timeline on when I'll have this done but I'll just keep cranking out chapters and let the story tell me when it's ready to wrap up. Warning of abuse and self-harm. Thanks for reading:)

Morning came too soon and Olivia stumbled out of bed. One glance in the mirror told her that she would actually need to spend some time on her appearance. She slipped into a pair of black shorts, a simple white shirt, and a grey cardigan. She worked on her hair next. That was the easiest for her. She braided a small section of it and pinned it back before moving on to her make up. A little blush with some mascara and some concealer under her eyes with a pale gloss finished off her look. She stepped back and smirked, she looked put together and like she had everything under control. It was perfect.

Oliva stepped out of her bedroom and ran smack into her mom, "It's about time you got up. Who are you trying to impress? Someone got a crush?"

"No, I just want to make a good impression."

Erin followed her daughter to the kitchen and started making breakfast for herself, "You know I haven't forgotten about that little stunt you pulled the other day. Smarting off to me like that, that's unacceptable."

"Good morning, ladies," Kevin came into the kitchen and kissed Erin on the head and tousled Olivia's hair, "How are we doing this morning?"

Both Olivia and her mom stayed silent but Olivia thanked Kevin in her head for coming in when he did, her mom was always a tad more sweeter when he was around, "Need a ride to school this morning, Liv? It's on my way to work and so I can drop you off if you want."

"That's ok, I'm going to walk to school with these two girls from school, thanks though."

"Are you sure? I really don't mind."

"Positive.

Olivia grabbed an apple, "See you guys later."

Erin stopped Olivia before she walked out the door, "We'll talk later."

Kevin looked between the two, "Everything ok?"

"It's fine, Olivia has just gotten a bit of an attitude that we need to discuss later."

"Right…"Kevin trailed off, trying to decide if what he was about to say would make things better or worse, "Well, I'm going to be late tonight. I have a business meeting after work with some clients so I won't be home until 8 or so."

"No problem, darling. I'll see you when you get home," Erin leaned over and kissed Kevin on the cheek, "Olivia, straight home after school."

"Yes, ma'am. Bye, Kevin. See you later."

Olivia slowly packed up her stuff after her last class of the day which was history. She had been dreading this moment all day and it had come far too quickly. She was supposed to meet Riley and Maya after class like usual but Maya had some art thing she had to do after class and Riley had to go pick up something from her math teacher so she wasn't in a rush to get to their meeting spot.

She shoved her last book into her bag and slung it over her shoulder and started towards the door when put his chalk down, "Everything ok, Ms. Jackson? You seem preoccupied today."

"Yeah, fine," Olivia responded as she neared the door. She was about to rush out but hesitated for a moment before turning back towards her teacher, " ?"

"Yeah?"

"Thanks, for you know...everything. You have a pretty amazing daughter and I'm lucky to have gotten to know her."

Cory sat down at his desk and leaned back, "Are you sure everything is ok? Because something tells me there's something up."

"Yeah, everything is fine. I should go. Have a good night, sir."

Olivia and Riley had just gotten to their floor and were about to go into their respective apartments when they both heard the shouting.

"WHAT THE ACTUAL...did you not think I wouldn't find out about this? I move across the COUNTRY FOR YOU AND THIS IS WHAT IT WAS FOR?" Kevin shouted at what Olivia could only assume was her mom. She hadn't realized that Riley had paused outside her own apartment door and was watching Olivia with concern. Olivia was frozen, her hand reaching toward the door that had been opened just a crack.

"You think you're special? There are a million guys out there like you," Erin hissed. Olivia realized her mom was right by the door and she took a step back.

"Yeah and apparently you found one here. So how long? How long was this going on and how long would it have been before you uprooted Olivia and took off with this new guy? WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS WILL DO TO HER?"

"Olivia? Come on, you can come over to my place for awhile," Riley said quietly, grabbing Olivia's hand and pulling her away from the door.

Olivia dug her feet in, wanting to hear what her mom would say next, her mind not quite wrapping around what the argument was about. She pulled her hand out of Riley's and stepped back towards the door.

"She's not your daughter, Kevin. Quit acting like you actually care about the kid, we both know you're not in this relationship for her. In fact, I remember when you first found out about her, your first question was if her dad would be taking her or if boarding school was out of the question."

"Riley? Olivia? Girls, let's go," Cory had entered the hall and had heard most of what Riley and Olivia had heard. He pushed Riley towards their door and bent down next to Olivia who had slid down against the wall, "Olivia, sweetheart, come on. Let's go inside and I'll get you something to eat, ok? You can hang out with us for a couple hours or so," He reached his hand out but wasn't shocked when she pushed herself up and refused to take it but he was shocked at what she said next.

"If it's really not a bother, I would like that," and she followed him into their apartment and curled up next to Riley on the couch with her head on her new friends shoulder.

Olivia startled herself awake and glanced around, not quite sure where she was. She realized she was in bed and was looking for her phone when someone poked their head in, "Olivia? You awake?"

Olivia sat up and brushed her hair off her face as Topanga came into the room, "How are you feeling, kiddo?" she asked gently.

"I'm...late. I need to go home, my mom...she'll…"Olivia trailed off as she darted out of the bed and started frantically looking for her phone.

"Hey, it's ok. Olivia, breathe," Topanga picked up the phone that had fallen on the floor and held it out, "Your mom knows you're over here. When I got home Cory filled me in on everything and I went over and told her that you had a huge history project due and Riley was your partner and I insisted you stay for dinner, she was fine with it. You were sleeping so peacefully that we didn't want to wake you," Topanga patted the spot on the bed next to her, Olivia reminded her a lot of how Maya was at first and she felt a pull towards her. Olivia sat down, keeping a decent amount of space between them, "Riley mentioned how you always seemed so tired so we thought it was best if you slept for awhile and then when you were awake and ready we'll let you head on home."

"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to fall asleep, I just...I'm sorry. I really am, . I didn't mean to inconvenience you at all," Olivia jumped up and started backing up towards the door, "I should get going, I'm really sorry again."

"Olivia, stop. Don't apologize, ok? It's fine. Cory took Auggie and Riley out for ice cream so it's just us."

Olivia tugged at her cardigan, "Thank you but I should get going. I'm really sorry again."

Topanga stood up and went to reach for Olivia but stopped when she flinched, "Hey," she said gently, "I'm not going to hurt you, I promise."

A small shake of Olivia's head told Topanga everything she needed to know, "I know. Thank you again. Tell Riley thank you as well and um, too," she mumbled before backing out of the room and rushing home to see what war waited for her there.
