Demigods are Goode

Chapter Five

(A/N: Percy and Annabeth make up in the next chapter)

On Wednesday

Percy POV

The next few days? Not fun. Your girlfriend, who you knew since 12, avoiding you for a week? Not fun. It's the weekend, and Piper told Annabeth about Jessica's party.

I went to Annabeth's room and knocked, and to my surprise the door opened to reveal a very, very very pissed off Annabeth. "What do you want, Jackson?" I really don't like it when she calls me that, because we've been on a first name basis ever since we met. "Annabeth, you're getting the wrong idea. I don't love Jess. We're just friends, I love you." I told her. "Jackson, I hate you. Get out." she said.

I snapped. I was sorry, up to that moment. "Annabeth, you know what? I don't like it when you call me Jackson. Want to know something else? I hate you too, Chase." I put as much spite as I could manage in the last word, and Annabeth looked hurt for a fraction of a second.

Frank, Hazel, Nico and Jason looked at me with curiosity and surprise when I went downstairs with a don't-talk-to-me-or-else expression on my face. I went into the training arena and started slicing and stabbing at all the dummies until all of them were in pieces. Leo called us to eat breakfast. I didn't go.

When the others went to school, I attacked the magically repaired dummies again and again. Ares iris-messaged and asked if I wanted some training. I thought about it, and told him "maybe later," and ended the call.

Frank POV

I was sort of scared when Percy stormed downstairs. Probably all of us were. Annabeth came down to breakfast, and we were smart enough not to ask her any questions. We were very tense when we walked to school.

When we arrived, Jessica, Alex, Jake, and Kyle greeted us, but looked surprised, probably because Percy wasn't here. Jessica stared at Annabeth's Camp Half-Blood T-shirt.

Me, Jason, and Hazel were wearing our normal purple Camp Jupiter shirts, and Leo was wearing a white shirt with 'TEAM LEO' written with black marker on it. Without Percy and his vibrant sea-green clothes, our group wasn't very colorful.

Maybe I'm thinking too much about clothes.

Calypso POV

Me, like some of us, was overwhelmed by fear when Percy walked down. When we got to school, I was quite uncomfortable with Annabeth shooting off waves of anger in every direction, though it decreased as time went on.

We had English, with Mr. Blowfis handing us non-mortals (A/N: Calypso isn't a demigod) Latin or Ancient Greek copies. Then we had lunch, PE, girls asking where Percy was (they backed off after Annabeth glared at them) and so on. School wasn't fun, and we were afraid (yes, all of us are scared when Percy is in a terrible mood, I think he got it from Nico) of going home.

We sat on the bleachers and watched the football team practice. Jack came over and tried to flirt with Thalia. We made him go away, and Thalia summoned a lightning strike on the football, and we all laughed.

We went back home, and were surprised when we heard the sound of a sword swishing through the air and hitting something. Leo went downstairs to look at what Percy was doing, and a minute later he came up completely soaked with water. "The gods, Nico, you're a very bad influence on Percy. He's dressed from head to toe in black!" we all laughed at what Leo said, especially Travis and Connor. Then Katie asked the important question; "Is it safe to go down there?" and Leo said he doesn't know.

Annabeth POV

Oh gods, what did I do? Maybe I should have believed him. Maybe I shouldn't have been so angry at him. Maybe I should not have called him Jackson. Oh no, there were so many things I did wrong. If he decides to hate me forever, I wouldn't be able to look at water without remembering him. Again, I'm overreacting.

"I'll go downstairs. I have to tell him I'm sorry," I said. They agreed. I went downstairs to find Percy, dressed in black jeans and a black shirt, which went surprisingly well with his hair. He was attacking the dummies using a technique I never saw him use. I wonder who taught him that.

"Percy? I'm really sorry," I said. He looked at me and laughed. It sounded evil, and it scared me as much as when I saw the spiders at the water park when I was 12. "Get out. That's what you said to me this morning, Chase. Get out." he said. I was hurt. I mean, I know it's my fault but I never expected how bad the consequences would be.

I went back upstairs, collapsed of the kitchen table, and started sobbing. The door swung open and somebody shouted "Die, door!". We looked at Coach Hedge. "All you cupcakes! No adult supervision! Recipe for death! Shouted him. I continued crying.

Piper POV

Coach Hedge asked what the problem was, and Annabeth tried to explain, but said a few words, then cried again. We all tried to explain the problem at once, but somehow Coach Hedge sort of understood. He went downstairs. I tried to comfort Annabeth, and ordered everyone else to go back to their rooms.

I calmed Annabeth down enough to stop her crying. And as we were about to stand up, Percy came upstairs scowling, and Coach Hedge was behind waving a club. He shot a look of pure hatred at Annabeth. His usually warm sea green eyes looked like a calm ocean, but now they looked like a bunch of tidal waves, so basically he didn't look like the Percy I knew. As Leo said, he was dressed in black, which sort of looked good. He walked upstairs, probably into his room. I was full of pity for Annabeth, because I would feel terrible if Jason did that to me.
