Chapter Nineteen: Living and the Dead
(Middle) 300 AC
Danny looked at the weapons before him. They were given to him by both his army and from men of the Night's Watch. There were broadswords that would take a normal man two hands and great strength to wield let alone swing. Swords that could slice into the enemy swiftly with one hand, Claymores that would be more useful for executions than battle, Long-swords and bastard-swords, daggers, and rapiers from Essos. There were also bows and arrows for long ranged assaults. It was a lot of metal and his goal was to enchant all of it.
The creatures that were coming from Beyond the Wall were made from magic and so regular steel could not hurt them. These creatures could shatter it with a touch. That meant these creatures could bring the steel weapons below their freezing point. The steel might be impure given the time period but that still meant they could reach around over a thousand degrees Celsius. The watch had told him how they were weak to weapons made of an obsidian material that they call Dragonglass. Their other weakness were to magical swords that had come from Valyria. Valyrian Steel was considered a special material after the Doom as it could no longer be created just molded from available sources. Nobles families in Westeros would pay fortunes to get a single Valyrian steel sword.
Those swords were so sharp that when they clashed with another sword they would slice through it like butter. Danny had thought about making more of the swords but changed his more Valyrian swords would just devalue them when instead he could save them for a later day and make them mean something when given away. Instead he was going to make new swords his own way. The bag of obsidian shards given to him by the Night's Watch would serve as a base so that they could still kill the undead coming from beyond the wall.
His communication rock was glowing. It seemed that someone wanted to talk to him.
"Show image." Danny said to the rock and it glowed before generating a blue screen and on it was the face of Sansa and her sister Arya .
"How are the two of you doing?" Danny asked as he took a seat at the desk. This could take a while so it was better to get comfortable.
"We wanted to now how the battle was going?" Arya asked him. Sansa rolled her eyes but let her sister continue.
"We are still planning our advance. I was thinking of moving past the wall in two days." Danny said.
"Is there any news from Bran and Rickon?" Sansa asked.
"They should still be safe. They are under the protection of a strong wizard." Danny said. Describing the the Three-eyed-raven as a wizard was a bit of an overstatement of his abilities but it would probably make the two of them feel safer that way. If he told the lot of them that Bran and Rickon's guardian was an ancient old man bound to a tree and only kept alive by the magic of the North than they would have tried to come along with him and make sure that their brothers were safe.
Danny did not want any of his wives here. The battle was very important to him. It was going to be a holiday for his empire. His army marching to fight the dead coming to their land desiring to bring the world to an everlasting cold. This was the kind of events that bards would sing of for generations. There would be corpses all around them and in the spirit of unity it would bring the people from the east and the people from the west closer. It could be their world's version of Christmas.
"How are my other projects going along?" Danny asked. Before he left for this battle he had given his wives instructions on what he wanted done to improve Westeros. A duplicate of his was overseeing similar projects in Essos. Now that he was in charge of the vast majority of both continents he had to bring the both of them together. Once Essos and Westeros were brought together he would start work on making his new castle. The Red Keep was a nice castle and very big but it was on Westeros territory. He did not want his Essosi people to feel like he had abandoned them. His plan was to have Essos and Westeros connected like the history books Missandei had read to him told of.
One people united under his leadership. An empire that the world could never forget even if thousand of years go by.
"The people are working hard." Arya said but his question was more for Sansa than her. Each of his queens were in charge of certain projects that he wanted done. Mya was in charge of providing supplies for reconstruction and construction. The materiels were coming from the Vale and the Stormlands. If there were not enough supplies would be coming from Qarth and the other Essosi cities. Margaery was in charge of providing food for the the villages and towns of Westeros. During the civil war many villages were raided and burned. Their farmers died fighting in the war and so many families were lost and left with nothing. Margaery was using the wealth of the Reach and the Westerlands as her source to fix that.
Many might still die but with her efforts she could save some of the villages. Sansa was in charge of making sure that the people in King's Landing were doing well and were aware that he was the king now. She was in charge of the City Watch and given her history with them was making sure that the horrible treatment she was under did not happen to anyone else. Arianne was in charge of making sure that his cartographers were making accurate maps of Westeros. The Maesters had volunteered for him to do it all but he denied it to the fact that he could see hatred in their eyes when they looked at him. It was visible in the eyes of most of the Maesters.
He wondered if this was how Frieza felt before he eradicated the Saiyans. They were likely to meet the same fate if they did not learn any better.
Daenerys was currently pregnant so she was not tasked with any specific goal. Instead she was assisting the others with their goals and reading her family history.
"Things are going well overall but there have been some complications." Sansa said.
"What kind of complication?" Danny asked wondering who would he need to make a horrible example of. The people of Westeros were stubborn and some would say bordering near suicidal but he just figured he had not scared them enough that they would obey him. Eventually they would learn the lesson or there was just going to be a lot more space in his empire that he would one day fill. Whether they would be people of Essos or people he created would be decided at a later date.
"The smallfolk have been gathering in protest." Sansa said.
"What did you do to them?" Danny asked curious.
"I ordered some soldiers to detain a group of them for questioning." Sansa said but she had a frown on her face.
"Did the prisoners not say anything?" Danny asked.
"No they talked. I just wanted to be the one that did the interrogation." Sansa said with a pout while Arya looked at her sister with a worried frown. Danny on the other hand was proud of his work. Sansa was was still the kind person that she was when he met her but now when crossed she would turn around and start torturing her enemy once they were captured. He wanted to make her the person in charge of overseeing his spy network. Sansa could and would do a lot in order to protect her family.
"What did you find out?" Danny asked.
"They are working for a man claiming to be Aegon Targaryen." Sansa said.
"How did Arianne react to the news?" Danny asked. After killing Oberyn he had told her of the plot that Oberyn had "discovered". How they were planning on using her nephew's name and claim to the throne to raise an army. The Golden Company had been helping Blackfyres do this for generations. There were many people descended from the Valyrian dragonlords. Essos had cities full of them and so all they would have to do is find a child that looked similar. No one had truly seen the corpses besides Robert Baratheon, Eddard Stark, Gregor Clegane, and Tywin Lannister.
The first three were incapable of saying anything as they were dead and the last one could not be trusted with whatever he said.
"Is it another Blackfyre pretender?" Arya asked him.
"Probably." Danny said. He was not sure but he was not going to let others believe otherwise. This empire he was building was his and there was no way he was going to let anyone stand in his way. Regardless of if he had a legitimate claim or not.
"How do you want to deal with this?" Sansa asked him probably fearing that he would take the army he had with him to go and deal with this person claiming to be Aegon Targaryen before going beyond the wall to go and save her brothers.
"I can deal with this Aegon pretender later. Right now I am going to focus on getting your brothers." Danny said.
"Thank you. I can't wait to see Bran and Rickon again." Arya said believing that his word was as good as a promise. Hearing that most of her family was alive even if they were separated had given both siblings a lot of joy and hope.
"There is another problem." Sansa said.
"What else is wrong?" Danny asked.
"The Faceless men have been attacking." Arya said.
"Who are the Faceless men?" Danny asked. This group was not something that he had learned about. He knew they were in Braavos but beyond that not much.
"The Faceless men are a group of assassins that were based in Braavos. They had a magic that allowed them to change their faces with those of their victims. It is said that their base was full of faces that they had skinned off of the dead. They all worship the Many-Faced-God and believed that all the gods are a different name for the one that they worship." Arya said causing him to look at her wondering how she knew that.
"I met people who know things." Arya said proudly when she noticed that he was staring at her shocked at her information. Maybe both Stark sisters should be in charge of the spy network.
"Why are the Faceless men after me and what do they want?" Danny asked.
"We have not gotten anywhere with questioning them when we caught them." Sansa said.
"Who is interrogating them?" Danny asked. Magical assassins were interfering with his plans which meant that they were another obstacle he would have to get rid of. The eastern part of his empire were still trying to completely conquer and structure Essos. There were still cities that were trying to resist his rule. Either out of pride or fear.
Carriages holding supplies were raided, soldiers were killed, animals were stolen, leaving cities and villages with starving people. If he were an ordinary person he would have been tearing his hair out at how many problems were rising when he was so close to completing his goal. Sometimes he felt like snapping his fingers and have everyone against him drop dead but caution held him back. Doing that was certainly possible but with such a vague desire it could take someone he really liked or found useful away from him. Instead his duplicate replaced whatever was lost and paid soldiers extra for their families due to the dangers of their jobs.
"We did not get that far. The moment one Faceless man is captured they take their own life." Sansa complained.
"We will have to deal with them eventually but it seems like now is not the time." Danny said.
"I regret that I could not be more help." Sansa said moving a strand of red hair behind her ear.
"I do not blame you. You can only do what you are able to." Danny said.
There was a knock at the door.
"My king there is someone to see who." A voice called out. His accent and armor gave away that he was from the North. The soldier had been serving with Rob Stark and had been at the feast hosted by the Freys. Danny had not said more than twenty words to the man before he volunteered to be in his guard.
"Go see who it is. We can finish our discussion later. I will follow your will my king." Sansa said before the call ended and the holographic screen disappeared.
"Very well. Come in." Danny said as he got out of his chair and faced the door.
"My king. It is one of the Wildlings." The guard at the door said as he held the door open.
"Let them in." Danny said.
Ygritte walked past the guard who glared at her. The contempt in his face was clear. She was clearly aware of it and was ignoring the guard's existence in return. It was not like Danny did not understand. People from beyond the wall have been raiding these lands for a very long time. These Free folk had been stealing, maiming, and killing these people so long that village records could have sagas listing the raids they had been victim to. They were the Westerosi version of the Dothraki except they did not worship horses.
"What is your request?" Danny asked.
"I want to join in the fight." Ygritte said which caused the guard to scoff.
"You have something to say?" Danny asked as he turned to face the man that looked to be five years older than him.
"The Wildlings cannot be trusted. They would probably turn on us the moment the White Walkers are killed." The Guard said.
"You claim we would turn on you but you would probably run before the fighting even started." Ygritte said back as she pulled out a dagger from her boot.
"Proof of her treachery my king. We cannot trust her or her kind." The Guard said as he pulled out his sword.
They stared each other down. Both clearly too stubborn to see that their pride was going to lead them to hurt each other. Danny was tempted to let it happen. When the story was sung by the bards he could have them tell of how the groups stared down each other with righteous fury. Facing death and fearing betrayal. There were corpses before the fighting even begun but thanks to the brave and wise king the two groups were united against the common enemy. It would have been very useful. There was only one problem.
Jon was fond of the woman with red hair and a fascination with blades. There was no way he would believe that he could not have prevented her death when he was in the same room as her and an enemy. Then he would have to deal with Jon and he held no desire to hurt Sansa. Killing Quentyn and Oberyn Martel and then lying to their family was a different situation as they were fully willing and complicit traitors.
"Stop it the both of you." Danny said his eyes glowing green and the room growing hotter as sweat started dripping down their foreheads.
"Yes my king." The Guard said dropping the weapon and kneeling on the ground.
Ygritte just stared at him but made no attempt to kneel.
"Fine." Ygritte said dropping her blade to the floor but remained standing up. Danny understood why she refused to kneel before him and if he was a better person he would leave it alone.
He wasn't.
Danny snapped her fingers and Gravity increased around Ygritte bringing her to a kneeling position like the guard next to her.
"Better." Danny said as Ygritte stopped struggling before him. Danny let up on the pressure on her.
"Sorry."Ygritte said but Danny could not see her face. She might have a frown but he did not know. The people beyond the wall liked to be referred to as the Free Folk. Danny was fine with the sentiment but the truth was these people would be becoming his subjects just like all the other people he had conquered and they would learn that he was going to be their king.
"Anyone that wants to fight can. I have been working on the weapons needed to kill our enemy." Danny said pulling on a sword near him with his mind causing it to fly into his hand. Both of his subjects stared at the blade. The obsidian used as a base had turned the metal into a dark black. His symbol was carved onto the blade of each weapon.
"Those look amazing my king." The guard said.
"I thoughts so." Danny said. These swords were supposed to be beautiful to look at and dangerous to cut with. He still had to see how well they would perform when they were used. He wanted to do it before he gave them out to the others. If there were any flaws to them them he would have to rewrite the rules of reality around them to fix it. Giving his soldiers shoddy pieces of crap only good for cutting butter was not something he wanted. That would just be embarrassing.
"Now leave me be the two of you. I need to finish my work." Danny said.
"My king." The guard said with a bow but made no sign of moving as his eyes were still watching Ygritte who also refused to move.
"Why are two of you still here?" Danny asked beginning to get annoyed with them. he had given his orders and he felt that they did not need to be repeated twice.
"I have another request my king." Ygritte said to him. This time there was caution in the woman's words. She glanced at the guard. Danny got the hint.
"Leave us." Danny said to the guard.
"My king I caution you against this." The Guard began but did not get to finish.
"I said go!" Danny said his voice turning deep and his eyes glowing angrily. They promised a fate worse than death if his orders were not followed. The man realizing that arguing would do no good made a quick retreat outside of the room.
"So what did you want to talk about?" Danny asked the Northern woman with red hair.
"What is going to happen to the wall and the Night watch when all of this is over?" Ygritte asked him but he was thinking the question was more about Jon than any of the others.
"I will have to make some changes to the order but for the most part things will be similar enough." Danny answered. The White Walkers would soon be gone but the Wall served as too great a barrier to just not use. It sealed a huge amount of the country and the only thing north of it was a huge ocean. Unlike Dorne and Essos there would be no landmass to connect with.
That place would serve as a great preserve for all the monsters he made that could not be safely contained within the populated areas for his empire. The best part was that it already came with soldiers to manage it and explore. Just because the war against the White Walkers was over did not mean that the men of the Night's Watch would get off that easily.
"What kind of changes?" Ygritte asked.
"Don't worry. Simple things. One of them is getting rid of that order of celibacy." Danny said for her and Jon's benefit. Danny just did not see the purpose of such a command in most orders. Most if not all the people of Westeros that were forced under it broke it heavily and repeatedly. The Maesters, The Septons (When they were alive), Kingsguard, Or the men of the Night's Watch. Sure there were some like Ser Barristan that stuck to it but for the majority if they could find a way to break the rule and not get in trouble than they would.
"Why would that matter to me?" Ygritte asked him and Danny would have found her glare amusing even if he could not see the blush that was on her face.
"I know about you and Jon. This is the only way to get him to agree to be with you." Danny said knowing Jon's personality from the time he spent talking with him to the stories Sansa told him off. The man was so stubborn he could push an ox down a hill just by pushing with his head.
"You can leave now." Danny said to her. He could tell that she wanted to insult him but knew that from that moment on her fate would probably be something horrible. She was right and so Danny gave her an excuse to leave.
She took it gladly shutting the door behind her loudly.
She was a proud woman. Proud and very much in love. He truly wished the two of them the best luck in life. Whether the survived the upcoming battle or not he would make sure that their love story was told.
He still had a lot of work to do.

"My warriors it is time to march!" Danny shouted to his army made up of his soldiers, the Night's watch, and the people from Beyond the Wall. They were all hugging the ice cold ground with wide eyes. They had apparently been expecting to head beyond the wall using one of the passages in their old castles. They had not expected him to just fly them over the wall and through miles of Northern land.
That was more their fault than his. There would be no point to trek miles to some secret passage when he could use his powers to send them over the giant ice wall. It saved the supplies and made their journey time shorter. It would also help give the bards inspiration when they sung of this tales. The King and his warriors were so brave they leaped over the wall to save mankind or some such.
"Please do not do that again." Jon asked glancing around probably looking for enemies. His Valyrian sword in hand just waiting for something to come and attack wolf Ghost was right next to him.
"This area is safe for now. The enemy is still rather far away." Danny said looking at a huge tree in the distance. Its branches going off in weird directions while the red leaves fluttered to the ground. The face in the tree with sap running down it making look like the face was crying blood.
"Then why are we here?" Another member of the Night's Watch asked. If Danny was remembering correctly this was Pypar. A small man with big ears. Danny had been surprised when the man volunteered. He looked to be a mix of scared, annoyed, and angry.
"I have some people to pick up here." Danny said.
That caused Jon to turn his head towards the tree.
"Bran and Rickon." Jon whispered.
"That would be correct." Danny said and he could tell Jon wanted to run screaming through the forest trying to find them. He didn't though because that would only reveal their presence to the enemy. Not that it would cause a difference. The enemy already knew they were here. Danny could feel it moving through the ground. A feeling of cold that promised death. It was like a tidal wave of negative emotion.
Danny wanted to grin but felt like that would only freak out the soldiers behind him.
"I made a promise to your family Jon and now it is time to hold to it." Danny said solemnly. This was mostly for Jon though. He knew the boy responded well to honor and the keeping of one's word.
"Thank you." Jon said extending his hand.
"Anything for family." Danny said shaking his hand.
"Come on men and women. It is time to march!" Danny shouted. His soldiers may have grumbled but they followed his orders and began to march. They stomped through the hard ice and dead grass. Jumped over rivers of ice cold water. Beside the sound of footsteps there was an eerie silence. Even if people pretended to be annoyed boy sound people found comfort in noise. The sound that there was life around them was normal. Here there was just silence. No birds, no crickets, no splashing of fish, it was creepy and so people began to talk trying to fill the empty void that was their surroundings.
They talked of home, past adventures they had, loves they lost, the pain they experienced the past few years, and so much more. Anything to try and fight the silence.
"My King what was your home lie?" A soldier named Derek from the Vale asked.
"What do you mean?" Danny asked looking at all the Weirwoods around them. He just wondered how many Children of the Forest there used to be before the First Men annihilated them. From a population that once filled a country to a near extinct species that were thought of as only legend and myth. Thinking of such a thing happening to him and his accomplishments was horrifying.
"I know you started your conquest in Essos so I wondered where you came from before that?" Derek asked.
"It was a complex place. My people had the ability to open doors to other worlds. To see the distant past and the far off future. To create tales full of beauty and songs of sorrow. There were good and bad rulers just like any other place. We had people able to use knowledge to speak with the dead and travel between the two planes of existence." Danny said trying to make his old world sound more glorious and mysterious as befit the home of the god-king.
"It sounds marvelous." Derek said amazed probably thinking up something more majestic and inspiring than the reality of it was.
Danny loved simple people like that. They helped sell the whole image he was creating.
Eventually they arrived at the right tree. He could tell that by the Children of the Forest that aimed their wooden spears at them.
"Well this is a nice greeting." Danny said looking at the group before them. The Children of the Forest were small as human children whether they were adults or youth. They had skin that was the color of mud and earth and dressed in clothes made of grass. Their magic allowed them to understand events in the future or the past, they could see through the eyes of animals to expand their senses, and manipulate the elements.
They also did not like him.
"What are you doing here abomination?" One asked in a hiss as the others leveled their weapons upon him. You would think being near extinction would make a species more careful against angering something that could wipe them out but apparently their distaste for him ran deeper than their fear or caution.
"Watch your mouth creature." Aran a knight from the Reach said holding out a sword. He clearly held fear of the Children but that would not stop him from trying to run it through with a sword. Danny enjoyed the man's loyalty. If he survived the battle he would return home with a pouch full of gold coins.
"Silence human. You have no idea what type of monster you are following." One of the Children said.
"Maybe we should all calm down. You lot can insult me and I can slaughter the lot of you but would that really accomplish anything?" Danny asked setting all of the Children on edge.
"What are you doing here?" A Child asked.
"I am here to retrieve some relatives and end this plague of undead monsters." Danny said.
"You plan on fighting your own kind?" A Child in front of him asked with suspicion.
"That is hurtful. Those creatures are nothing like me." Danny said.
"Not sure which one is worse." A voice murmured from the back of his group. Danny would have loved to find whoever said that and properly punish them but he was focused on more important matters.
"We are here to rescue my brothers. Please let us through." Jon said to them asking for them to move aside but Danny felt that he was also promising he would cut through them if they refused.
"You heard the man." Danny said while extending his gloved hand and showing the green flames dancing atop them. His threat only seemed to aggravate them more.
"Stop it." A Child said but his voice seemed different and his eyes were pure white. Guess The Three Eyed Raven finally decided to acknowledge that he was here. Danny knew the man had been aware of them from the moment that he and his soldiers had flown over the wall.
"Let them through." The Three Eyed Raven said causing the Children to clench their hands but they lowered their spears.
"He is an abomination." The Children said.
"I agree but we have little choice left." The Three Eyed Raven said.
He hoped they enjoyed what he would turn this part of the country into when he was finished with this battle.
"Are Bran and Rickon still safe?" Jon asked the Child.
"Yes they are with me right now." The Three Eyed Raven said before looking up. They all followed his gaze and saw that he was looking at a bird. The bird began flying off in the direction in front of them.
"He is gone." The Child that had been possessed spoke and they could see the green of it's eyes again.
"Well looks like we have to follow the bird." Danny said taking a step forward and forcing his followers to follow him. Jon seemed to not even pay attention to anything other than the bird. Tracking it like a cat in front of a laser pointer.
"Are you sure that we can trust this person my king?" A soldier asked.
"Do not worry if anything happens just stay behind me." Danny answered.
Eventually they reached the Weirwood that was surrounded by snow and saw a kid running towards them alongside a wolf.
"Jon!" The person shouted as he crashed into Jon.
"Are you okay Rickon? Where is Bran?" Jon asked Clearly overjoyed to see his brother alive and in well enough health.
"I am fine. Bran is still by the tree. I ran ahead." Rickon said looking up to his brother with a smile on his face and tears going down his cheeks.
"Lets go and get him then." Jon said walking off to the tree but he took a seat on a log he conjured.
"Soldiers you can take a break." Danny said to the others who sat down on logs he conjured for them.
"What are you doing?" Jon asked him.
"You wanted to find your brothers and now you have. Go talk to them we will stay here so the soldiers can catch their breath." Danny said looking at the soldiers who now had a chance to relax were clearly dealing with a lot of stress. From flying over the wall to the knowledge that they would be fighting the dead to protect the empire. They needed a bit of a break and from what he could feel through the ground their enemies while moving fast were still a bit away.
"Alright." Jon said uncertainly but with Rickon's tugging both Stark children went to the tree where their brother was waiting for them.

"So what do you think of our chances?" A soldier asked another as they sat around the campfire. Strong spikes surrounded the camp forming a barrier and there were stars twinkling above them. If it was not for the ice surrounding them and the incoming army of the dead than it might just seem as if they were a large group camping. There was giant turkeys roasting over their camp fire. The smell of it traveled on the wind throughout the camp. People kept looking over to see when it was done. The turkey had Essosi spices dabbed over it and caused it to sparkle at times. A part of Danny worried that the giants would get impatient with waiting and come to devour the turkey. He had a lot of worries tonight.
Danny had originally wanted to make the fire green but worried that given the Westerosi fear of Wildfire he held back. He also thought about turning the fire blue but felt the color would be seen as ominous given their current situation.
"There is nothing to fear. We have these weapons and our king." Another soldier said to reassure them.
"The Valyrians had magic and eventually they fell. The only remainder of their empire is the Doom." Another soldier said full of cynicism.
"Our King is nothing like the dragonlords of old. They were never able to conquer the east and west together." Derek said.
"Well I still think putting all your faith in magic is going to end up biting you in the ass." The soldier said.
"Come on Mikkel how can you not believe?" Derek asked. "We are going on a righteous quest to save the world."
"Spare me your righteous quest. All I can see is a king that wants to conquer who won't be satisfied until he owns the whole world." Mikkel said.
Well it sounded like Mikkel was going to have a few years of bad luck down the line.
"Foods ready." Daren a soldier from the Stormlands said. He was in charge of their meals as he was one of the soldiers in his command that actually served in a kitchen in both Westeros and Essos. The man knew the types of food men of both country would like and the spices to add so that the food would not be too bland.
"Great." Danny said opening his eyes and getting up to the giant turkey. Soldiers were cutting huge slices off and chomping on it with a cup of mead. Others were chomping on fruit and bread. Danny pulled out a knife and sliced a piece of turkey off, grabbed some bread, some fruit, and a bit of cheese. He turned the berries into a jam and spread on the bread and made a sandwich.
Bran's wolf came over to his side pulling the boy along in a sled. Danny glanced at the boy's white eyes.
"Hello." Danny said as he waved at the wolf possessed body.
"What is that?" Bran asked him as he left the wolf and returned to his body.
"It is called a sandwich. Do you want one?" Danny asked the kid. This was the first time they were meeting in person. Their earlier talks were through dreams and words on the wind.
"Yes." Bran answered him.
"So how have you been?" Danny asked.
"It has not been easy." Bran said with a sigh. The past few years had not been kind to this kid. Between losing his legs, losing his father, losing his home, and dealing with this frozen hell the kid probably needed years of therapy. It was just too bad that the job would not exist for centuries.
Still there was something that he could do for the kid.
"Do you want your legs back?" Danny asked him.
"Obviously." Bran said clearly focusing on self loathing and not listening to his offer.
"Listen to me. Do you want your legs back?" Danny asked. Bran would most likely answer yes but Danny wanted him to hear the words and accept what he was offering.
"You are serious?" Bran asked him.
"Yes." Danny said to the young Stark.
"The Three Eyed Raven said that I would never walk again." Bran said like he could not believe what was being offered.
"Well he has tricks and I have mine. I can fix your legs. You can be a knight again." Danny said reminding the boy of the dream he had before this war started. He had learned of it from Sansa.
"You can really grant him his legs again?" A short girl said as she walked up to them.
"This is Meera." Bran said introducing his friend.
"Can you really fix him?" Meera asked him.
"Easily." Danny said.
"What will it cost?" Bran asked him.
"Nothing. We are family. I just want to help." Danny said as he stood up and walked over to the kid.
"It is your choice Bran." Meera said.
"Very well." Bran said extending his hand which Danny grasped. Just for a bit of showmanship and to attract the attention of the others he surrounded the two of them with a golden glow that attracted all attention in this cold night illuminated only by a campfire and the stars. Before all the soldiers they watched as Bran Stark a boy that was supposed to be crippled for all his life began to stand up on his own two legs.
"Bran!" Rickon and Jon screamed as they rushed to hug their healed brother. Danny was focused on the other soldiers who stared at him with amazement for what he did. Now that they personally him perform another miracle they would spread the word. Even more people would try to accomplish his quest to get a reward now that they knew he could heal almost any damage taken in life.
"What are you people staring for?" Danny asked his soldiers. "Grab a cup and drink some ale. This is a celebration!" His command got them all cheering and putting the army of the dead in the back of their mind. This night they would drink until they could not tell the difference from the sky and the ground. They should enjoy it because the dead were closing in. They would probably be at their location by the morning.
It would all be decided tomorrow.

"Do you hear that?" Danny asked the soldiers behind him. The pulsations on the ground were so loud that even the soldiers could hear them. There was a fog rolling in and the wind was sharp. It was causing light cuts on the faces of his soldiers. The soldiers were shivering as even their armor and fur could not protect them from this cold.
"That sound your hearing is the march of the dead. The chill you feel is the hatred of their gaze on you. If they are not stopped here this sound this feeling will break past the wall and continue to edges of the country. Who knows if it ends there? The dead may march until every last man, woman, and child is a pale blue-eyed undead monster." Danny said to them.
"Very inspiring." A voice in the back muttered with sarcasm.
"We will not let that happen. This is the last stand. This is the spot where the living will conquer the dead. The dead fight for nothing. Believe in nothing. You are not like them. You all have something that pushes you forward. Something to attain, something to defend, something to protect. Remember those thing as you march forward today. Remember all the pain you have ever felt. All the happy moment you ever enjoyed and know that this fight is more than about winning or losing. Know that this is a fight for life and all it entails." Danny said raising his sword in the air. He thought the speech was pretty great and motivational. He and the bards could go over it later and see if there could be any improvements.
"So my army when you are fighting remember what we are fighting for. We will not give up until the last one of us falls and we will destroy as many of these corpses as we can before it happens." Danny said and could see the fear I their eyes turn into resolve. Each one was ready to charge into that pit of ice zombies. They were getting the easy job anyway. They were just fighting the wights. He was going to be the one charging against the white walkers that commanded them.
"Charge!" Danny yelled his ebony sword pointing straight forward at the approaching army. The soldiers behind him yelled in agreement and pulled out their weapons and ran right behind him.
One of the Whight Walkers tossed an ice spear right at him. Danny ducked under it and sliced one of the corpses coming at him at the knee. It fell to the ground and Danny Stabbed it with the other sword in his hand in the chest. The moment the corpse exploded the ice around it turned to grass. That was another idea of his with each corpse dead the ice around them would turn into lush grass. Help motivate the soldiers and help with his image.
"Do you see this soldiers. With each one of them dead the land comes back to life!" Danny shouted with his voice reaching all over the battlefield.
"AAAARRHH." the soldiers yelled as they clashed into the enemy soldiers.
Danny flew to the White Walkers that were in the back watching over the battlefield on their undead horses. He raised his swords into the air and pillars of earth rose separating the generals from each other. Danny created duplicates to fight the other generals. He went to fight the one wearing a crown made of ice. Going by conventional logic it meant that this one was the king and in charge.
"I bet you were not expecting this?" Danny asked the White Walker in front of him but not actually expecting an answer in response.
"Abomination." The White Walker said in a raspy growl that made his widen before he ducked a swipe of his spear.
"So you can talk?" Danny asked as he thrusted with his right sword before the fog before them solidified into an ice shield. It shattered when his sword made contact but it was enough of a diversion that the White walker got some distance.
"Abomination." It growled again.
"Are you talking about you or me?" Danny asked taking a swipe with his left sword but the White Walker ducked and tried to do an upwards thrust with its spear.
"You." The White Walker said pointing at him. As insulting as it was being called an abomination by the ice zombie Danny was focused on something else.
"See you can talk. You can even insult people so what you stay silent so that you can freak people out?" Danny asked as he created spikes out of the ground but they all shattered before they touched the White Walker. From what he could see of the battlefield his soldiers were doing alright. There were huge patches of grass where before was only ice. The undead had more n umbers but that was to be expected with how they gained soldiers.
"Before you die why don't you tell me who created the lot of you?" Danny asked. Religions in Essos claimed that the White Walkers were created by an ice demon that lived below the world. If any creature had knowledge of gods or demons in this world it would have to be something created from it.
"Do not remember creator. Only know fight and kill." The White Walker said creating ice spears and launching them at him only for them to burn up before they got anywhere near him.
"Then you are useless." Danny said with a frown and pointed his sword at the White Walker. Instead of swinging it at the White Walker a burst of flame appeared and burned the monster to a crisp. Danny took a sigh and sat down annoyed but content to watch how the others would do in battle. As the soldiers fell others would appear and stab them in the heart removing the threat before the reanimated. There were arrows and spears flying between the two armies. The clashing of steel and cries of rage.
Danny saw Mikkel about to be slashed by a sword from a wight but increased the gravity to slow the zombie down for Mikel to kill it. The man would not get to die so easily. His duplicates were also playing around with their opponents. If he wanted to he could snap his fingers and have all the White Walkers and their wights turn into a giant tree easy to cut down or burn but that was not the plan. They would need to kill a few more soldiers before he finished this battle off.
"Aw man not Daren." Danny said when he saw the man fall with a dagger buried in his head. The moment Daren fell Derek appeared next to him and stabbed him with his sword to prevent the man from rising to fight again.
After three more of his soldiers fell Danny got up and began stretching. It was almost time for him to finish this. Twenty more soldiers fell before Danny thrusted his sword into the air and the sky began to change. A storm began to form above the soldiers. Purple lightning began to arc through the clouds and struck the army of the dead. Each time an arc of lightning touched the body of a reanimated corpse it exploded.
The grass began with small patches here and there but by the time the battle ended the icy plains of the land beyond the wall was an endless plain of grass that stretched farther than they could see. The soldiers were panting with exhaustion. The battle lasted about two hours but all the soldiers were exhausted and panting on the ground now that the battle was over.
"Do you see that endless plain my soldiers. That is the proof that we are victorious!" Danny shouted to his soldiers as the clouds above them began to disperse and the sun began to shine down on all of them. He even had a few birds appear to chirp to help them feel the enormity of their accomplishment. This march began with complete silence in a land of ice and snow. Now they could hear the sounds of life exploding all over. They had lost fellow soldiers and friends but in return they had won so much more.
There would be tales told of this adventure. Of how close they came to death and how they triumphed. That every day after that anyone could look upon the sun and smile. That every day children could run in the streets and enjoy sweets came from their efforts. That they united as one and overcame fear to fight for their right to live. He and the bards would find a way to extend the story and make it sound even more impressive. He did not want anyone to forget this day and what they all accomplished.
