Lloyd briskly walked down the hallways of the third floor, feeling desperate.

Roosevelt Hall was a pretty big place, and because of it, it was taking him longer to find his target's room than he had hoped.

The longer I stay here, the greater the chance I'll be seen, he thought, frustrated by the situation.

As he neared the end of the fourth hallway, he was preparing to give up his search for the night. It was beginning to look like his trip to Roosevelt had been a waste. Well, not a total waste at least. At least he got to spend some time with Julia.

It had been almost too lucky to be true for him to have bumped into her at the library the way he had last night. What were the chances that she happened to live in the same dorm as one of their perpetrators? Plus, she was so nice and smart. And pretty.

Ha, maybe when this is all over I can actually invite her to hang out with me on the Bounty, he thought. Kai had invited Sam on the Bounty this past summer, so he didn't see any reason why he couldn't invite Julia.

In the midst of his daydream, he was interuppted by the sound of voices coming down the hall.

"I need to grab some stuff from my room," a tenor voice said. Lloyd immediately froze. He knew who that voice belonged to.

He nervously glanced behind him and, sure enough, saw a young man wearing a grey hoodie walking alongside a more muscular-looking fellow with short brown hair.

Lloyd fought to keep his cool as he began to panic. Of course, Victor would need to be in his room when he was trying to get into his room.

If Victor saw him, he might make the connection that Lloyd was following him, which would be very bad. If the criminals were able to keep themselves under the radar for this long, they were certainly smart enough to jump to those kinds of conclusions.

Thankfully, Lloyd spotted a restroom a few feet in front of him and decided to hide in there for the time being. Walking quickly as to not draw attention to himself he ducked into the restroom and hid behind the door. Putting his ear to the door, he could hear the voices getting closer.

"You coming to the party on Friday?" the brown-haired guy asked.

"Nah, I've got other things to do," Victor answered.

He heard the other guy sigh in exasperation. "Dude, you should take a break from that stuff. You always have your nose in those in books. It's not gonna kill you to have some fun, for once."

"Trust me, when this all over I will be the one having fun," Victor replied.

Lloyd's stomach sank. Whatever 'fun' Victor was referring to, it certainly wasn't going to be good-natured in any way.

As they passed him, he could hear their voices traveling farther down the hall. Victor's room must've been the very last one. Convenient.

"I just gotta use the restroom real fast," he heard the brown-haired guy's voice say.

Oh, great.

Before Lloyd could react, he felt the door to the restroom open, forcing him to back up as much as he could against the wall to minimize any resistance. As he heard footsteps go into a stall, the door closed, exposing him to whoever came out of the stalls.

He didn't move for a good ten seconds as he frantically looked around, needing another place to hide. He quickly spotted the showers on the opposite end of the restroom and decided that they would be his best bet. He tiptoed over to the showers just as he heard the toilet flush.

Lloyd held his breath, praying to the First Spinjitzu Master from inside the first shower stall as the guy washed his hands quickly. Ten seconds felt like an eternity before he heard the water shut off and the door click, indicating the guy had left. He made his way back over to his previous spot behind the door and listened.

"Got everything you need?"

"Yeah, man. Gosh, this backpack is heavy."

"Maybe it's because you got all those books in there," Victor's friend teased. "You carry those things everywhere."

"Well, it's better that I have them than someone else," Victor replied ominously as Lloyd heard the voices go in the opposite direction, becoming increasingly fainter.

He waited another minute after hearing the voices disappear before he emerged from the bathroom. Sounded like Victor wasn't coming back for awhile, so he'd have time to complete his task.

He wondered why those books about the Cursed Realm were so important. Guess he'd find out once he planted the microphone in Victor's room.

He made his way to the end of the hall and sure enough, he found the room at the end of the hall with the names Victor and Cody written on the nametags.

"Wonder if Cody's involved," Lloyd thought aloud as he stood at the door. He then facepalmed, realizing he had forgotten all about the roommate situation. "Hopefully, he's not here either."

He put his ear up to the door. Silence.

Here goes nothing.

Taking a deep breath, Lloyd used the magnetic card Nya had given him some time ago to unlock the door without breaking it.

He slowly opened the door to find it was pitch black.

"Good, no one's here."

He flipped the light switch on and saw that the room looked like a typical college male's room, with clothes and food wrappers scattered across the floor. The trash can itself was piled high until it was overflowing, and the faint smell of old pizza only added to the room's charm.

Even in his current situation, Lloyd couldn't help but chuckle imagining how his uncle would react at the sight of the disaster. "Sensei can't say we're this messy."

He looked around the room and saw there were two desks at the foot of each bed. He couldn't tell for sure which side of the room was Victor's, however, he noticed that one desk was much cleaner than the other. He concluded that the cleaner desk must be Victor's, as it was missing a laptop and textbooks, which made sense since Victor had just left the room with quite a few things.

Lloyd reached into his pocket of his jeans and took out the small device. He walked over to the desk and stuck it underneath so it wouldn't be seen. Mission accomplished.

"Now I'd better get out of here before Victor or his roommate get back."

He turned to leave, however, in his haste he had forgotten about the trash can located by the door. He stumbled into it, making a loud noise as the metal can hit the ground and trash spilled out, covering the floor with even more debris.

"Ugh, great," he groaned, running his hands through his hair in agitation.

Kneeling down, he began hurriedly picking up the garbage that had fallen out of the can and putting it back in.

Not like they'd notice more trash lying around.

Still, he didn't want to risk not cleaning up any trace of him being there.

As he picked up the garbage, he noticed a particular piece of paper crumpled up on the floor near the can. From what he could tell, it looked like a blue print of some sort. Grabbing it, he unfolded it to see it was, indeed, some kind of diagram labelled "Operation Cursed Realm."

What's with this guy and the Cursed Realm?

Examining it more closely, he noticed that the diagram was a floor plan of Wentz Hall. In the four different corners of the hall, near each exit, there were different letters: J, J, T and D. In the front of the hall, where the stage was supposed to be, there were two other letters: a J and a V.

"I wonder what they stand for," Lloyd thought aloud. "I'd better tell the guys."

He didn't have much time to think about it, however. As soon as the words left his mouth, he heard the door begin to open.

Adrenaline pumping, Lloyd snatched the paper and made a mad dash for Victor's bed. From under Victor's bed, which was messier than the entire rest of the room, he saw a pair of shoes he didn't recognize walk past him.

"Ugh, I'm starving," the voice said. It was deeper than Victor's, and that's when Lloyd made the connection. It was Victor's roomate. He saw the young man open the mini fridge located between the two beds and take out some sort of food.

Lloyd rolled his eyes. He supposed he shouldn't have expected anything less, with the way the night had been going so far.

Guess I'm gonna be here a while.
