Quinn jumped when she felt someone gently shake her. She opened her eyes to Jay sat beside her. Without thinking she threw her arms around him. He stroked her hair burying his face in her neck.

"Are you ok?" He asked sitting back to look at her.

"Honestly I'm scared" She replied.

"Your place was trashed" He told her "You can't go back there"

"Was it him?" She asked

"Patrol picked up two guys, but it doesn't make sense that they would randomly target your apartment" He replied "They're being questioned"

Quinn felt sick. She didn't know where to go or what to do.

"I wish I could stay with you" He told her.

"You can't?" She asked.

"No but we can move you to a safe location" He told her "I need to work this case"

"I don't want to be alone" She said shaking her head.

"I can stay with her" Kelly said leaning in the doorway.

"Ok" Jay said shortly, he obviously wasn't happy about it.

"I think he might hurt Beth" She told him trying to get her thoughts straight "I can't prove it, but I just know it"

"We've got contacts in New York" Jay reassured her "Voight will reach out"

"What if I had gone home tonight" She said almost to herself.

"Could you give us a minute?" Jay asked Kelly.

Kelly nodded and shut the door over.

"You were right to trust your gut" Jay told her "And I won't let anything happen to you"

"Can't you just stay tonight?" She asked.

"I can call Connor or Will" He told her kissing her forehead.

"I'll just stay here until Kelly is off shift" He said shaking her head "Robin's got a lot going on with her Mom I don't want to take Connor away from her, and Will's got Natalie"

"You know I want to stay with you right?" He asked making her look him in the eye "He could have hurt you tonight and I wasn't there, I have to make sure he can't hurt you"

Quinn didn't know what to say. He had a whole team that could go after Biff. She just wanted to feel safe with Jay. But she knew he had to do his job.

"Just don't get hurt" She told him "He knows if he wants to hurt me then one of the first things to go after is you"

"I love you" He told her leaning in to kiss her properly.

Quinn kissed him back not wanting to let him go but a knock on the door broke the moment. +

"Kim's going to take you to an apartment where there'll be patrol cars stationed outside" Voight told her.

"She's going in the morning with Severide" Jay replied "She doesn't want to be alone"

"You can stay tonight" Hank told him.

"I want to get this guy now not later" He replied.

"Don't forget about Beth" She said.

Jay nodded explaining the situation to Voight on the way out.

Quinn felt like her head was going to explode. She wasn't used to feeling so vulnerable. She had always been a strong person. Biff had started to chip away at that playing on her insecurities. She had pulled herself back out of that situation and now it felt like a huge step back. She had no idea what to make of her relationship with Jay. She didn't know if his actions showed he cared or if it was guilt. She needed him there.

She wasn't sure how, but she managed to fall asleep for a few hours. She felt bad seeing Kelly sat in the common room on the couch.

"Hey" She said taking a seat next to him. It was around 4 am and everyone was sleeping.

"How are you feeling?" He asked looking up from whatever 80s movie was playing.

"I honestly have no idea" She shrugged "You should get some sleep"

"I'm good" He told her with a smile.

"Don't stay up on my account" She said shaking her head.

"I'm not I love this movie" He said settling back and putting his feet on the coffee table.

"Oh really?" She asked raising an eyebrow "What is it?"

"That one with that guy" He replied.

"Oh, I like that one too" She joked rolling her eyes.

Her phone buzzed on the table making her jump. She picked it up to see a message from Connor on the screen.

'Don't ever not call me again, you're staying with me, Severide can come too, no arguments' – C

Quinn felt the tears welling up in her eyes. She was sure all she had done for days was cry. So much for her ice queen persona.

"Hey" Kelly said putting an arm around her and pulling her into a hug "Everything is going to be ok"

Quinn rested her head on Kelly's shoulder and closed her eyes. He might be a new friend, but he was a good one. She understood why Gabby liked him so much. She didn't know what she would do with Connor. He was the best brother anyone could ask for. She'd gone a long time without a real family, but she had become part of a great one.

Voight wasn't happy that she was staying with Connor but agreed to send officers to sit outside his building instead. Kelly had dropped her off and gone by her apartment to help collect his stuff and some of hers.

"Do you think it was him?" Connor asked.

"I honestly don't know" She said taking the cup of coffee being handed to her "It's crazy, but he told me I'd regret walking out, he was talking about us moving to New York and being with Beth. I never would have thought he'd actually hurt me but now I'm not so sure"

"I'm going to kill him" Connor said angrily.

"We don't know anything for sure yet" She shook her head "You can't risk it"

"Is Jay still undercover?" He asked.

"No" She replied "He's working on my case now"

"Should he be doing that?" Connor raised an eyebrow.

Quinn just shrugged her shoulders not really having the energy to talk about it anymore. She knew Connor had to go into work anyway. Kelly would be back soon, and the police were set up outside. She could barely keep her eyes open. She was still in her dress from the night before. She decided to raid Connor's draws and pulled out a t-shirt and some shorts with a drawstring. She really needed a shower and they would have to do for now.

She was sure that Connor had more products than she did in her bathroom. It was amazing what a hot shower could do. She decided to have a few hours' sleep but then she wanted to make herself useful.

She knew it was ridiculous, but baking was her go to stress relief. By the time Kelly surfaced she had made enough cupcakes and cookies to feed a small army.

"What are you going to do with that much cake?" He asked grabbing a cookie from the cooling rack.

"Open a bakery?" She suggested "I went a little overboard"

"Who knew you were a domestic goddess" He laughed "Are you sure this is edible?"

"You're already eating it so too late now" She retorted throwing a handful of flour at him.

"Really?" He asked brushing flour from his shirt.

"Don't you dare!" She warned pulling up the bag "We can't trash Connor's kitchen"

Kelly gave her a look that made it clear he wasn't going to let her off so easy but the knock at the door distracted them.

"Saved by the bell" She giggled walking round to open the door.

She froze in the doorway.

"Quinn you're late for our meeting"

"Is that him?" Kelly asked.

"Another guy already?" Biff asked "You move fast"

"Leave" She told him trying to hold Kelly back "Kelly call Jay or Voight"

"Don't you think you're being a bit dramatic?" Biff asked "Always playing the victim"

Quinn shut the door in his face and bolted it. She was scared if she didn't Kelly was going to lunge for him. She pressed her back against the door.

"If you go out there, you'll be the one being locked up and not him" She warned.

He looked like he wanted to argue but instead he called the precinct and asked Sargent Platt to send Voight over. Biff had been able to walk straight passed the two officers outside and get up to Connor's door. She wasn't really safe at all.

"You can't stay here" Jay told her for the tenth time.

She wasn't sure she had seen him so angry. He had laid into the officers outside.

"A restraining order is being filed" She sighed "If he wants to, he'll find me anywhere"

"So maybe you should leave town for a few days, go and stay with a friend" He pleaded.

"I don't have anywhere I can go, and he's taken enough I'm not leaving" She told him placing a hand on her hip.

"Do you always have to be this stubborn" He groaned running a hand through his hear.

She raised an eyebrow. He already knew the answer to that question.

"Of course, you do" He answered for her cracking a small smile for the first time since he got there.

He placed a hand on her hip pulling her into him. He put his forehead to hers.

"I just don't want anything to happen to you" He told her drawing small circles on her hip "I hate that I can't just stop him"

"I want you to do it right" She replied "You're not a dirty cop and I don't want you to be, we don't even know if it was him, it could have been random"

Jay didn't say anything, but she knew he was holding back information from her. Usually she would insist he tell her but right now she wasn't sure she wanted to know.

Instead he just wrapped his arms around her kissing the top of her head.

"When will I see you again?" She asked.

"Soon" He replied.

She didn't know if she believed him but she kissed him goodbye.
