Sorry for the short chapter the next one will probably also be pretty short.

Viriathus remained weaponless, but that didn't make him seem any less threatening to Katie, standing flanked by his replenishing escort of guards he regarded the man in front of him with a condescending sneer before turning away. "Kill them all. I have no further use for any of them anymore." With that Viriathus left the room, the doors closed with an audible click behind him.

Katie looked around the room, Malcolm was laying in a corner to injured to move, and Drew was out cold. That left her, and the man who had stolen the bow off of Viriathus up and active.

However, as Katie had to remind herself, she was not very accomplished in combat, and the woman who sat motionless in front of her's breathing was increasingly soft and raspy.

While Katie wasn't new to arrow wounds, she had helped the Apollo Cabin care for the injured in the Second Titan war and was also on hand for whenever the Apollo Cabin had their Trick shot night, but an arrow into the lungs was always the worst.

Unlike most wounds, with the arrow removed, along with any small fragments of the head, the damaged lung would fill with pus if not attended to right away as a means of fending off infection. But removing the shaft all the way would cause the wound to bleed out faster right now, without access to any advanced medical equipment the best she could do was leave the arrow in and pray for the best.

Yeah, pray sounded good, that was all she could do at this moment, armed with three small celestial bronze pellets tied together with a single strap, kneeling behind two unconscious figures while Malcolm and Drew were both incapacitated.

The lone figure still challenging the hoard of guards pouring out from the double doors remained motionless. "This might be a little harder." the man said, lingering still for a moment before he suddenly wheeled around and shot an arrow into the dead body of Virlus. The shot resulted in the sickening sound of an arrow tearing through flesh, and the high pitched scream of a voice that most likely belonging to Drew.

Divicatus, who had maneuvered his way to the front of his comrades, snickered for a bit. "oh. Sure, make sure they're both dead, why don't you, a lot of good that'll do." he said, earning a few laughs from his buddies.

Katie, who was still recovering from the shock of her, friend is it, being shot by a supposed ally, started to move towards Drew. As there wasn't anything she could do to the two people in front of her, having someone physically respond to a stimulus was a good sign.

However, before she could even pass the woman, something unexpected happened.

The blood from the dead body of Virlus seemed to be draining out of him; his muscles seemed contracting and relaxing, forcing his body to empty itself of blood.

The blood, however, doesn't pool around the body on the floor. Instead, it appeared to evaporate and hover around the corpse. As Drew pushed the cadaver off her, the arrow protruding from her lower thigh, the red mist hovering around her seemed to dissipate.

The man who had shot the arrow just stepped back as if he had expected this to happen as he reloaded the bow in his hands.

"Glad to have you back, Drew." the man said in a faded Hispanic accent.
