"Schools out it seems for heartthrobs Inuyasha and Sesshomaru Takahashi. The brothers were pictured in a flashy sports car heading into their parents' 10.5-million-dollar residence in Malibu." Kagome looked up from her book as pictured flashed on the screen of Inuyasha in the driver's seat of a red convertible, wearing sunglasses as Sesshomaru stared down at his phone next to him. Consecutive pictures showed Inuyasha and Sesshomaru getting out of the car with duffle bags and Sesshomaru looking over his shoulder as they walked into the residence. Kagome rolled her eyes, and went back to reading.

"Oh, Honey! aren't those the boys who live on the same block as you at college?" Kagome's mother asked, pointing a manicured finger at the TV screen. "You and the dog-eared fellow are friends on Facebook!" She recalled, clapping her hands together. Kagome nodded.

"Yeah mom, they're really famous. Inuyasha played soccer and was a DJ during his last two years of high school." She explained, continuing to page through the book in her hands. Her mother blinked at her, "mommy, Inuyasha is the dog-eared guy I'm friends with on Facebook." Kagome's mother smiled with realization.

"Oh, that's nice dear." Her mother says, laughing next to Kagome. Kagome picked up the sound of her little brother's footsteps coming from upstairs.

"Inuyasha? Who said Inuyasha? What about Inuyasha?" Sōta said excitedly, practically jumping in his spot behind the couch. Kagome looked absentmindly over her shoulder.

"I go to college with him Sōta. Mom didn't know who he was." Sōta's brown eyes widen with excitement as he screamed. Kagome winced, covering her ears with her book.

"No way! The Inuyasha Takahashi goes to college with my sister? That's so cool! What's he like?" Sōta asked excitedly, shaking his sister by the shoulders. "Have you met him? What's his major? Is he as cool in person?" Sōta continued, shaking his sister intensely. Kagome swayed away Sōta's hands and closed her book, glaring at its cover. "Kagome?"

"He's rude, he's selfish, a total brat! He's so spoiled! He thinks he can do what he wants whenever he wants!" Kagome shouts, and tosses her book on the coffee table in front of the couch. "Ugh I can't stand him." She huffed, crossing her arms. Her eyes hardened with anger; but then her mind wandered to the kiss they shared, the night they spent in his room when he was human. The secrets he told her. It was unnatural how they were so quick to despise one another one moment, and then the next congress to each other their biggest secrets. Kagome shook her head and turned back to her brother, whom was shocked to say the least, of how Kagome described his idol. Kagome looked puzzled for a second, and then sighed in realization, mentally giving herself a facepalm. Their mother cleared her throat and excused herself from the room to make dinner.

"So... that bad huh?" Sōta asked, vaulting over the couch and plopping down next to his elder sister. "He does kind of look like a jerk in pictures though." Sōta said weakly, giving Kagome an empty laugh. Kagome's cheeks turned red as she realized the gravity of what she had done to the image of Inuyasha her little brother had of him.

"Well. He's not all bad." Kagome said, crossing her legs. Sōta looked up at her, tilting his head. "He can be really funny and thoughtful sometimes. But most of the time he's a jerk." Kagome said, trying to give truth to any part of the image Sōta had in his head.

"You sound like you've spent a lot of time with him, sis." Sōta said, and Kagome laughed nervously, scratching her head.

"Oh, Um...yeah! Something like that." She said nervously, feeling blood rushing to her cheeks."Not to mention he saved my life a week ago." She uttered, tapping her cheek with her finger as she got up and followed her mother into the kitchen. Sota's eyes widened with surprised and he caught onto Kagome's shirt sleeve, tugging her toward him. "What, Sota?" She asked, annoyed with her brother.

"He saved your life?" Sota breathed, looking up at his sister through starstruck eyes. Kagome's shoulders slumped as she stared at her brother. Great, now he's going to want to know how he saved my life, Kagome thought mentally giving herself a slap to the face. Way to go Kagome! "He's a demon though, aren't demons mean? You said he was mean." Kagome looked up, and tilted her head. "Did he like give you notes or something? Wait do you guys have classes together! That's so cool! Can I meet him one day?" Sota asked, tugging on Kagome's sleeve once more. Kagome smiled at her little brother. Yes! He thinks I meant figuratively speaking!

"Yup! He gave me his notes!" Kagome said, patting Sota on the head. "He saved my life by giving me notes!" She smiled through gritted teeth, rubbing her hand into Sota's hair. "How smart of you Sota! Very good!"

Kagome went through the rest of her day at home watching Netflix, eating ice cream and just generally relaxing. While other people were out having fun at parties and getting drunk at festivals, Kagome decided that it was best for her to stay away from that scene for a little while. As she scrolled through her phone, she saw pictures of her friends at music festivals, family barbeques and having fun. She sighed, and threw her phone on the nightstand next to her bed and pulled her covers over her head, and stared at her wall. Her mind replayed the events at the party in the forest.

"Let go of me!" Kagome cries, tears streaming down her face as she fights against the offender, his hands grabbed onto her breasts as he kissed her forcefully, Kagome gasps and slaps him, wheezing as she struggles to regain her breathe.

Kagome squeezed her eyes shut, pulling the covers up over her head as she huddled into a ball in her room.

He continues to try to assault her, but she moves out of the way, nearly falling on the ground. Kagome screams as he catches up to her, and begins to kiss her on the neck. "Let go of me!" She cries, taking deep yet shallow breathes as she tries to wriggle out of their grasp.

"Never." He breathes against her neck. Kagome kicks his leg, but he doesn`t budge.

Kagome shivers at the thought of those events, her eyes watering as she remembered the amount of fear she had in that moment. The amount of fear she had for her safety, and the safety of Inuyasha at the time. "Please...stop." Kagome whispered to herself in her room, covering her ears with her hands as if that would stop the film from rolling in her mind.

With that gesture- the throwing of the bottle, the actual fight began. Chairs were used, tables were flipped, bottles were thrown at one another. Kagome and the girl desperately screamed at the two, trying to calm them down. To get them to stop. "Inuyasha!" Kagome screams, still frozen in her spot, watching with horrified eyes. "Stop please! I`m fine!"

He ignored her- though he could clearly hear her-. He took Naraku's head in his hands, and smashed it against the edge of a bar repeatedly. "Inuyasha! Stop!" He turned this time, ready to yell at her for being so annoying. Until his breathe hitched in his throat, and a bullet was shot through his shoulder.

Kagome went mad. She kicked and thrashed and broke free from the girl holding her back, and ran to his side, sliding on her knees.

There were very few feelings that Kagome could not stand in her life, and one of which was helplessness. The helplessness she felt that night was unlike anything she had ever felt before, and the helplessness she felt when Inuyasha got injured was worse. Every time she remembered that night, she felt her stomach tie itself in knots, her breathe hitched in her throat and her body went numb and cold. She turned in her bed, laying on her back now. She stared u at the ceiling, listening to her mother and Sota have a conversation downstairs. Her mind wandered. Now, she was beginning to feel a pang of guilt in her chest from treating Inuyasha badly when he was just trying to make sure that she truly was alright. Although his actions that night and a few days ago didn't match his personality, she felt thankful that he worried about her in such a way. "But I guess that's what happens when you know so much about each other." Kagome mutters to herself, as she sits up in her bed, staring at her TV where the show she was watching was on pause. She looked toward her nightstand and picked up her phone, staring at the screen. "Maybe I should apologize to him." Kagome thought out loud, sliding her finger across her phone screen. She hit the back of her free hand with her phone. Her eyebrows furrowed in thought. No, it's best I leave him alone, Kagome thought, tossing her phone onto her bed and pulling her knees up to her chest. She huffed and groaned. It would be weird if she texted him out of nowhere. He was probably busy at some party or something anyways though, right? She grabbed her phone again and sent a text to the group chat she had with Sango, Rin, and Ayame titled 'tribe'.

Hey guys, what's up?

It was casual, could open the conversation up to whatever they wanted. She was just trying to get Inuyasha and his golden eyes and long silver hair out of her mind. The cute little smirk he gave her where his fang poked out over his bottom lip that made her stomach do little flips.

SANGO: Not much! Just spending time with my cat haha.

RIN: Oh I'm just watching Netflix.

AYAME: Hey guys! I'm not doing much of anything either, just watching a movie with gramps.

Kagome smiled at her phone; her friends stayed home. It was to be expected of Rin, since she generally stayed out of parties and didn't drink much. However, Ayame and Sango were usually out and about. She texted back.

You guys aren't going out?

RIN: Well, I don't usually go out much.

SANGO: Eh, I think we had a pretty good party with the guys before heading home. We didn't do that chapter meeting, tho.

AYAME: We can just have one when we go back, no prob. And yeah that party was pretty good, can't believe that one kid jumped into the pool from the roof lol.

RIN: Wait a kid jumped into the pool?

Kagome raised her eyebrows at her phone. So, they did sneak off together huh? Her lips tugged upward in a devilish grin.

Lol, yeah. You didn't know? Where'd you run off to?

SANGO: Uh yeah Rin lmao, where'd ya go.

AYAME: OMG! Don't tell me you snuck off with Sesshomaru!

RIN: Well we didn't sneak off, per se... We were there the whole time...just not outside.

SANGO: OMG! Rin did something naughty!

Kagome snorted and rolled her eyes, of course Rin and Sesshomaru would sneak off like that.

You guys definitely had sex.

RIN: NO!

SANGO: Uh yeah you did lol.

AYAME: Rin! It's so obvious. You're horrible at lying.

Kagome continued texting her friends for a while, until her mind cleared up. She felt okay again, and left her room and went down to the kitchen, and rummaged through the fridge for a snack. Not finding anything there, she shuffled over to the pantry and decided on making herself a cup of instant noodles. She filled her kettle up with water, and then set it to boil, and started to scroll through her Instagram timeline as she waited for it to boil. Her eyes darted to the top of the phone, and her eyes widened when she saw who texted her, and then her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

KIKYO TASHIO: Hi. Can we talk?
