(For those on fanfiction dot net, chapter nine (the first Lapis lemon) has been fixed, so you can go back and read that)

I do just wanna say that Pearl really do be out her tryin' to shatter her enemies; if you remember the episode where they "cornered" Peridot in that ship and she was using a hologram, Pearl aimed right for the gem.

But, just for the sake of keeping them as the "good guys" I'll overlook that.

Also, I feel like Steve (this is what me and yellowmoshi call this Steven) is being uncharacteristically nice to Spinel, and I completely and totally blame that on a short story I read that had Steven doing some not so nice things to a innocent child Spinel...so I physically couldn't help but try to even the good Stevinel out there, but I'll try to get back on track with his character.

Anyways, enjoy

-=Rose's Fountain=-

-=Steven/Spinel/Lion=-

Lion slid out of the diamond-shaped portal that formed next to Rose's fountain. Once the animal was to a complete stop, Steven dropped down from on top of him and looked around. "Hm, it seems they aren't here." He sighed as he began walking around, the teen about to scold the feline for his uselessness until he saw water tracked across the floor in the direction of the warp pad. "Well you were close at least."

Steven decided that it would be bad if he allowed the rebels the chance to heal up anymore, so he opened his communication device, the Diamond deciding to get ahold of his Lazulies. "You two, I don't care which one does it, but I'm pinging you my current location so one of you can come here and remove all the liquid from this fountain and save it in bubbles, you are then to send them off to my room on Homeworld, understood?"

"Yes, my Diamond, I'll do it, Freckles gets along with Nephrite better anyways." Curls agreed as she summoned her wings, the blue Gem seemingly outside helping collect gems with the other two.

"Good, if you're not done by the time the others have left for the rendezvous, there is a warp pad not far from the fountain itself, you can use that warp pad to get here as well." He informed her as he started walking back to Lion. "I trust you can handle yourself."

"Yes, my Diamond, I won't disappoint you." She responded as she took off into the air, seemingly on her way to the warp pad in the field, leaving Nephrite to collect the remaining Gems with Freckles while she hung up the call.

"So, do you know where the rebels would be?" Spinel asked from on top the pink beast, the pink Gem wanting to fight that human girl herself. "I figure we don't really got all the time in the world to find 'em before you gotta go and deal with the whole invasion thing."

Steven gave a huff as he started to hop back onto the lion. "You're right, I guess we'll just have to draw them out ourselves then." The hybrid spoke with a smile as he settled down on the feline's back. "And I know exactly who we can use to do so, and to punish that organic for her cowardly attack. Lion...go to the Maheswaran residence."

-=Five Minuets Prior=-

Everyone was feeling a lot physically better now after a trip to Rose's fountain, Bismuth even returning. "He actually did it...The little guy...shattered me." The grey Gem who had reacquired her armor, said with disbelief, having experienced actual death for the first time.

"Let's just be glad Rose's fountain has the essence of all the Diamonds now...she was never able to fix shattered Gems herself, so maybe as long as we have that, we won't lose anyone, we could even bring back everyone we lost today." Pearl said with growing hope but Garnet was quick to shoot it down.

"I saw only one possible future where Steven doesn't think to look for us at the fountain and he doesn't take all of Rose's tears away, and that was only if we somehow won the fight against him earlier, hence why I grabbed this." Garnet said stoically as she held up a vial of the fountains tears, there maybe being enough to bring back one Gem. The group was now approaching the ship that they all escaped from homeworld in. "We just have to turn on the cloaking device for this ship so we can have a way out if things get too bad."

"Wait, no matter how bad things get, we can't just leave earth, we would have nowhere to go." Connie argued, having recently healed up from Spinel's attack with Rose's tears. "Listen, it's just Steven and that pink Gem, we can take them, we can still save the earth before they even inva-" She was cut off as a bright flash of light came from the sky, followed shorty by what sounded like multiple explosions.

Everyone brought out their weapons, thinking this was homeworld, but they calmed down when they saw that there were no ships to be seen in the sky. "Pearl, get this ship cloaked and put Amethyst and Peridot's gems in there too, this can only be a warning of some kind." Garnet ordered, assuming this to be setting up an attack or something.

Pearl went inside the ship as Connie looked up to the sky that was now blocked off by pink clouds, giving the planet a darker tint. "I-I gotta call my parents." Connie quickly said as she pulled her phone out, only for the human to realize she had no signal. "What? Guys, there's no signal, we should really go check on everyone in town."

"Right, if Steven will be going anywhere, it's probably there." Garnet agreed as Pearl came walking out of the ships, the skinny Gem giving a sigh as she looked up at the pink sky. "This is all getting out of hand, if we don't stop Steven,...I genuinely believe he's going to go through with colonizing earth." She said worriedly, the possibility of him doing so becoming very real to her finally.

"Even if we somehow managed to get Steven knocked out again, we have to deal with that other Gem, and even if we beat her, I seriously doubt that those headaches and emotions coming out of nowhere after I hit him upside the head were just coincidental." Connie continued, thinking about just how unwinnable this fight was, the human seemingly changing her more optimistic thoughts from earlier. "At this point, there's only one way to stop him, and just like you guys...I don't think I would be able to bring myself to do such a thing."

"Right, we don't know how to stop him, and we're running out of time..." Garnet spoke, acting calm and collected on the surface, but inside she was needing to balance the lives of trillions to the one life that is Steven. Of course to anyone, the choice would be clear, but in the end, she couldn't ignore the fact that she raised this boy, and no matter how indirectly, their choices while raising him lead to this.

No one knew what to say next though their silence was interrupted by a large, white homeworld ship that broke through the pink clouds and slowly began descend upon Beach City. "Alright, now we can worry." Pearl spoke with fear as capsules filled with Gems were being sent down, destroying homes and businesses once they landed.

"Gems, let's go, Connie, go home." Garnet ordered as she summoned her gauntlets, the other Gems getting ready to fight as well. Of course, Connie wasn't going to just accept this, especially now. "No! I'm tired of you guys just pushing me aside and treating me like I'm some kind of vulnerable little girl! I learned to fight to protect more than just Steven! I learned to fight to protect all my friends, my family, and my planet! If any of us has a reason to go fight for this planet, it's me! And need I remind you, you all probably wouldn't even be here if I didn't attack Steven!"

Connie wasn't one to typically have outbursts, so this of course surprised the three Gems. "Connie, I know you have everything to lose, and while we are grateful for you saving Bismuth's gem from further damage, we just think that you would do better protecting those people you love; Connie, you're a good warrior for a human and you know more about Gems than any other human on earth, so the humans need you with them, and if not them, think about your parents."

"My parents...today was their day off, they were having a date night and should be home by now." The human teen spoke as panic began to rise within her. "How am I supposed to get to them in time?! We don't have Lion anymore!"

"Go to Greg, it's best if he leaves the town as well, so you just have him collect your parents and come back to the ship, you four are to hide in here and wait for us to come back." Garnet instructed as the commotion in the town grew. "We'll either be leaving the planet or letting you all go back home...let's just hope it's the latter."

"Right...just, stay safe, and don't hurt him too bad, I know Steven is still in there somewhere." The human said with a frown before rushing off into the town, as the chaos had yet to reach where the car wash was, the Gems following after her, but running right towards the danger instead of avoiding it.

-=Five Minuets Later=-

Connie could be seen banging on the back of Greg's van. "Mister Universe! We need to get out of here, it isn't safe!" She shouted in a hushed voice as she looked around to make sure no one could see her.

It took a few seconds but Greg came stumbling out, the balding man had obviously been sleeping before she came along, something he had been doing a lot since Steven's last visit. "Connie, Steven was supposed to be coming today, did the Gems get him to come back yet?" He asked, his hope clear in his voice.

"...No, things have actually escalated." Connie said, motioning to the pink sky and the smoke coming from deeper in the town. "He brought Homeworld with him this time, and when fighting the Gems, he shattered Bismuth, though we were thankfully able to fix her in the healing fountain."

Greg just starred on in horror, the town on fire as the large Homeworld ship could be seen floating in the sky. "Then where is Steven himself?" He questioned the girl, almost scared to learn any more than he already had.

"We don't know, but the Gems sent me to you while they figure this out." She informed him, still uncomfortable with being the one to have to explain the current state of his son. "Listen, I know it's a lot to ask right now, but can you please take me to my house? We need to go pick up my parents and take them to the ship that's in the woods just outside of Beach City."

"Your place, huh? Yeah, don't worry, I got you covered." Greg reassured her, doing his best to toss aside his feelings about the state of the world right now. "Go ahead and hop in." He instructed as he closed the back doors to the van and moving to the drivers seat. "You should buckle up, I don't think road signs and speed limits apply in the event of an alien invasion, and if they do, I don't plan on listening to them."

Connie did as she was told and hopped into the passenger seat, being quick to strap in as Greg sped off, doing his best to avoid the areas where all the fighting was happening.

-=With The Gems=-

Pearl, Garnet, and Bismuth were struggling to fight off Homeworld's forces, and though they all seemed like cannon fodder compared to someone like Jasper, they still had numbers on the trio. "Garnet, I don't know if we can hold them off much longer!" Pearl called out as she ducked under an attack before sending her spear right through the Gem's head.

"I'd say we should retreat, but we're kind of surrounded." Bismuth called out as she poofed another Gem that was rushing her. "So what are we gunna do?"

"We're gunna mash it up of course!" They could hear a voice shout before they saw a ball zoom through a group of Gems, taking a few of them out before she landed between Garnet and Bismuth. "C'mon, let's form Alexandrite!"

Pearl was about to ask about Bismuth when Peridot came flying in on a yellow car hood, the green Gem using her metal manipulation to lift Bismuth up by her armor. "Me and Bismuth can go and search for Steven!" She shouted as she set Bismuth down on the large metal platform.

"C'mon guys, we don't have all the time in the world, let's do this!" Amethyst urged as some Homeworld Gems began to charge. Once everyone had agreed to the idea, Garnet simply lifted the two above her head, the trio posing as they turned into light that began expanding by the second.

-=The Maheswaran Residence=-

-=Greg/Connie=-

Once Greg and Connie pulled up to her parents house, the first thing she saw was herb parent's car was in the driveway, then she noticed that the door was left open, something she most definitely didn't do when she left with Lion. "Um, Connie, maybe you should let me go in first." Greg offered as he went to unbuckle, but before he could even get his hand on the buckle, Connie had left the car and was sprinting towards her house with her sword ready.

"Mom, dad!" The human called out as she entered the home, only to see that her usual neat and orderly house was a mess: a couch was stuck in the wall, the TV was on the floor, and any pictures that haven't joined it down there were barely hanging on their hooks.

Then she saw what looked to be maybe claw marks dug deep inside the walls, leading upstairs; up to her room. She ran up there, hoping and praying that she wouldn't be greeted with anything too horrible, but once she entered her room, she saw that it too was trashed. Then she noticed that amidst the chaos, there was a transparent, pink, diamond-shaped screen was floating in the center of her room.

Once the teen grabbed ahold of it, a video message played, showing the pink Gem that was usually with Steven. "Hey there, um...what's her name again?" She asked, looking to her left, Connie being able to hear Steven respond 'Connie' in the background. "Ahem, hey there, Connie." She greeted with a smile.

"Now, I'm guessing you remember how you interrupted my Diamond's fight, right? How you hit 'em upside the head with that rock? Well, guess what." She began, her smile never leaving as she turned the camera around to show Steven tying up her unconscious parents. "We got your creators in the same state as he was in." She giggled before turning the camera ack to herself. "Now, if you ever want to see them alive again, you should come to Steven's old home; we suggest you bring the Gems if you want even a little bit of a chance at saving them. Steven says that this thingy will have a timer for twenty minutes after this message ends, and once that time is up, it'll send an alert to us and he'll kill them immediately." She explained as she began walking, seemingly ending up outside her home. "And remember, bring the rebels." The pink Gem spoke with a smile and a wave before she tapped the screen and looked behind her. "How'd I do Steven? Did I get it right?"

"Other than your slip up and the begging, you did fine, now go put it in the room where we caught the male human." She could hear him say before Spinel looked back to the screen. "Oops, didn't stop the recording." She said quietly before the message ended, the screen now showing the timer she was talking about.

Connie stood there in shock for a moment, her mind slowly processing what she just watched before she realized she was wasting time. "Mister Universe!" The human shouted out as she ran down the stairs faster than she had ever ran before, only to see Greg waiting for her at the bottom of the steps.

"Hey, what happened here? Did you find your parents?" The man asked her with worry, knowing that if she did, they would've likely been in a bad state.

"No, Steven has them! He's given me twenty minutes to get back to his house, and he wants me to bring the Gems!" Connie explained, showing Greg the screen that was now hitting eighteen minutes. "We need to go! We don't have time to grab the Gems!"

"Woah, we can't just go to him without them, we need the protection." Greg spoke as he followed Connie outside, the human girl marching out to his van and hopping in. "Connie, how do you plan to get your parents back without the Gems?"

"We'll figure it out when we get there, but for now, we have no idea where in town any of them are, and only likens seventeen minutes to make it back to the temple!" Connie reminded him urgently as she buckled up. "I was able to sneak up on him and knock him out once, I'll do it again if I have to."

Greg just gave a sigh as he got into the driver's seat started the van up. "I guess knocking someone out isn't as bad as loosing the lives of two people..." He contemplated as they sped down the road. "Alright, just let it be known that I was completely against this."

No more words were exchanged as they sped through town, Connie looking on in horror at the destroyed buildings and the occasional dead body that was just laying on the side of the street, though thankfully there was no one she recognized. There were multiple burning buildings, the occasional rumbling, and she could swear she could see Alexandrite on the other side of town.

Once they got closer to their destination, banging could be heard on the roof. "What is that?!" Greg shouted as he swerved, his focus soon going back to trying not to wreck the van, though his nervousness was apparent.

Connie grabbed her sword and unbuckled. "I'll check, just be careful and keep your eyes on the road." The human ordered quietly as she rolled down her window. Once the glass was all the way down, she grabbed on to the roof and jumped out the window, much to Greg's horror, though he was somewhat more relieved when she pulled herself on top the van, not that that was a good thing either.

What Connie was expecting was someone to fight, but what she got was Peridot and Bismuth with their hands up, the human pointing her blade at them. "Peridot? You reformed? That was quick." She noted as she dropped her fighting stance.

"Haha, no one can keep the great, almighty Peridot down for long, not even a Diamond." The green Gem spoke with pride, only for Bismuth to clear her throat at the Diamond part. "R-Right, I meant Steven."

"Never mind about that." Connie spoke as she shook her head, the teen realizing that they were the only two here. "Anyways, since you two are here alone, I can only assume that means I wasn't seeing things when I saw Alexandrite earlier?"

"Nope, that's them; they're trying to fight off the Gems who are invading the town, and we're looking for Steven." Bismuth informed her as she lowered her hands. "What about you? Aren't you and Steven's 'dad' supposed to be going to the ship by now?"

"Well we would be, but Steven has my parents back at his house, and we have maybe ten minutes to get there." Connie informed them with a sigh as turned around to see the beach in the distance. "We didn't have time to go look for the Gems, cause he said I had to be there on time if I ever wanted to see them alive again, but now that you're here, I can ask you two to go and get them while I try and distract him, if I can't just knock him out."

"Right, I'll go and retrieve them with Bismuth, you just try not to get yourself killed, ok?" Peridot spoke as she levitated her car hood off of the surface of the van, allowing Bismuth to step on it with her, the two of them floating along with the vehicle. "It shouldn't take too long, but we were only really here to look for him anyway."

"Alright, just try and make it fast, even if I manage to get the drop on him, I'm sure he still has one of his Gems with him, and that pink one was able to make me unable to fight after just one punch." Connie reminded them as she went back to the side of the van and slipped her legs inside, keeping her head out for a moment to speak one last time. "And be careful, Steven isn't the only threat here anymore..."

"You can count on us, we'll get everyone there right away." Bismuth promised, Peridot giving a thumbs up before flying off on her sheet of metal, leaving Connie to go all the way back inside the van with Greg.

"So, what was that about? It didn't sound like a fight, so I assume we're in the clear?" The adult human asked her, taking a moment to glance her way, only for the girl to give him a nod. "You know...every time there has been some big Gem thing going on, I'm usually driving towards it or away from it with Steven...it's kind of hard to believe that the same boy who was willing to go back and put his life on the line fighting with the Gems against Jasper and Peridot is the same one who's here to destroy everything they were protecting...it just isn't right."

"Steven has been through a lot in the past year or so alone, and I'm sure there's been more since before I knew him, but...I guess after all the stuff he's had to endure for the sake of others was enough to let White bring him to her side." Connie said as she starred down at her sword, memories of her wielding Rose's sword along side Steven coming to mind, as well as everything that they had been through together in the past year. "It's amazing he was able to stay so positive and happy on the surface for as long as he had, to be honest,...I just wish I could've known how he was feeling inside sooner."

"I know the feeling...I'm his dad, I was supposed to be there for him whenever he needed anyone, he didn't have it like other kids his age, he had to fight monsters and alien tyrants, and I was always so worried about him getting hurt or worse physically, that I never stopped to think of the mental strain something like all that would have on someone so young...and because of this, I'm now taking a young girl to go and fight my half alien son to stop him from doing something bad to her parents...he didn't deserve this path, but neither do any of these people that are being hurt." Greg said, seemingly on the verge of tears as he thought of many ways he could've prevented this and given Steven a happy childhood.

"Don't worry mister Universe, we're going to bring him back, and give him the love and care he needs...I just know it." Connie reassured him as they stopped at the edge of the beach. "Just wait in the car, I know it might feel weird leaving this up to someone my age, but if anyone can fight him off until the Gems get here, it would be me...well, at least between the two of us that is."

"Wait, I know I can't exactly fight against him, but I can at least be a distraction so you could maybe grab your parents and get out of there without any kind of physical confrontation." He offered as he unbuckled and hopped out of the van.

Connie knew what it was like being denied the ability to help in similar situations, and it's not like him doing this would really put his life in danger after all. "Alright, but avoid getting on his bad side, I do kind of doubt he would actually kill you, but it's better to be safe than sorry." She spoke as she left the van as well and began jogging towards the temple.

Once the two reached the house, Connie still had a minute left. "Okay, you go directly to the front door, and I'll make my way in through his bedroom window; just keep his attention as well as the attention of whoever else is with him on you and I'll be out of there as fast as I can."

"Right, I'm on it." He spoke with a nod as he walked up the stairs, Connie opting to go up the almost wall-like hill that led up to the house, finding all her training to be useful. "Okay, if I can make it onto the roof, it should be easy to just push open his window, because if I remember correctly, he doesn't keep it locked typically." She thought to herself as she started looking for a way onto the roof.

With Greg, he knocked on the door firmly before waiting for Steven to answer, though do to the fact it was a screen door, he was able to clearly see that Steven was standing by Connie's parents, the human man still not over how much he had changed, as he was once just a small innocent kid, and now he was tall, intimidating, deadly, and unstable.

Steven stood in the dark house, just tossing a regular kitchen knife up and down, catching it by the tip of the blade, as well as Lion who was sitting not far from them. It took a moment for the hybrid to realize who was knocking, the teen just giving a huff before throwing the knife at the door, the blade becoming embedded in a wooden part instead of slicing through the screen and ending up inside of his father. "Yes, Gregory?" He questioned as he approached the door. "You aren't who I was expecting."

"No, I made Connie go and look for the Gems, and I've come here to try and talk some sense into you." Greg said sternly, surprising Steven with the authority he put forth in his voice for the first time since he had known him.

"Very well, I might as well allow someone to amuse me while I wait for the others," He shrugged as he ripped the knife from the door, causing said door to swing open. "Connie's parents' screams were just becoming annoying after a while."

It was at this point that Greg had noticed that Doug and Priyanka were covered in cuts and bruises, Steven's knife looking bloodied. "What did you do?! Are they still alive?!" The ex-rockstar questioned, horrified by his son's actions.

"Of course they are, their daughter's time isn't up yet." He said as he looked down to a device as if to check the time. "Though she has like a minute left, so she should be hurrying up; I am a man of my word after all."

"Listen, this isn't you! I don't know what exactly brought you here outside of not being open about your feelings and telling us what's bothering you, but Connie's parents have nothing to do with it! You need to let them go right now!" He demanded, stomping his foot.

"You don't know exactly what brought me here? You want to know something, Greg?" He began with a glare. "You aren't as good of a father as you might think. I didn't have to go live with the Gems, you didn't have to make your career washing cars, not making enough income to give me a roof over my head like a normal human."

"That's why I sent you to go live with the Gems! I didn't understand anything about parenting, much less parenting a child who was half Gem, so I looked to them for help! I was just doing what I thought was best for you, I didn't know-" Greg tried to argue, only to be interrupted by the monarch.

"You didn't know that living with Gems would peek the interest of a foolish child? You didn't know that letting me go on missions with them would end up going wrong? You didn't know that allowing a stupid kid to go back and try to fight some other Gems would result in anything but disaster? You didn't stop to think for a second that a home where I'm living with Gems who blame me for Rose's death wouldn't be a healthy home? You didn't once think that after all I've had to deal with, that I would end up changing?"

"Of course I did! I've tried reaching out to you time and time again, but you would never give me the full story, you wouldn't let me properly help you!" Greg continued to argue, still feeling like garbage for allowing things to come this far.

"I didn't need you to talk to me about it, I needed a father who would have given me a normal life in the first place, a father who wouldn't let me just go and put my life on the line to fight 'evil'! Sure, maybe I wouldn't have been too happy about it at first, but as a parent, it is your job to make sure that your offspring stays safe, even if they don't like it." Steven continued as one of his eyes flashed from pink to brown, but back to its proper color again right away. "I was a stupid kid...I didn't know what I was doing, and you just tossed me to the Gems and let them raise me..."

"Steven..." Greg said as he slowly approached his son, only to be interrupted by the sound of shattering glass and the screams of Connie, everyone's attention going to the girl who came flying through the window in Steven's room upstairs and ending up downstairs with Spinel on top of her.

"What is this about, Spinel?" Steven questioned his Gem as he turned to her, the pink being who had Connie pinned to the floor responding right away. "I found the human Connie on the roof outside, so I thought I'd invite her in to play too." She spoke with a smile, though behind that smile, she still held resentment towards the girl for what she did to her Steven.

Once the Diamond realized what was going on here, he shot a glare at Greg before summoning shields to block the door and the windows that surrounded it, as to keep him out. "So this was nothing more than a mere distraction, huh? I should've assumed as much."

"Steven, wait, don't hurt them! Please!" Greg begged as he pounded on the shield. Of course the teen ignored this and motioned for Spinel to get off of Connie before summoning a dome around the human. "So, organic, where are the others?"

"Steven, please, my parents have nothing to do with this, just let them go!" Connie pleaded from inside his trap. "They don't deserve this!"

"Dear old Connie, you really think I'm doing this because I think they deserve it? You think I brought them into this because they have any importance to me or my cause?" He spoke with a grin as he flipped the knife around in his hands. "I merely didn't want to have to hunt you rebels down, and the easiest way to do that was with some bait." Steven continued as he approached her mother and father, both of them seemingly too weak to do anything other than moan and groan.

"Well you have me! And the Gems are on their way! So just let them go, and we can settle this!" The human continued to shout, tears coming to her eyes as she felt useless to help. "Steven...please..." She continued as she let her tears fall.

"Oh stars, this is just pathetic." The Diamond said with a roll of his pink eyes as he squatted down next to the two adults. "Anyways, I know the Gems will come for you, but unfortunately for you and your parents...heh, well your timer ran out about thirty seconds before Spinel brought you in here."

"No! Steven! Please! Don't do this, I'll do whatever you want, just please, don't!" She begged as she began banging on his shield, his father shouting out to him ineligibly from outside.

"Hey now, having no parents isn't so bad, I mean I grew up in a different home than my father and my mother has been gone since my birth, and I turned it just fine." Steven said with a twisted smile as he dug a knife into Doug's chest, receiving a cry of pain from him before he slowly sunk into the bitter-sweet embrace of death. "You'll be joining them soon anyways."

Connie continued to helplessly scream out for him to stop, her mother just reaching an arm out towards her with tears of her own, mustering up a smile and mouthing the words 'I love you' right before Steven drove the knife into the top of her skull.

Her parents...they were dead. She just had to witness the boy she once loved kill them with no mercy, no hesitation, and not a sign of remorse. All she could do is fall to her hands and knees and sob, the human not even being able to muster up the strength to stand.

"Honestly, I wonder what the Gems or even I for that matter ever saw in you. You're so weak and pathetic that you just stood there and sobbed like an infant as I killed your mother and father." Steven said as he removed the blade from Piryanka's head, the hybrid dropping his dome before tossing it before her. "Heh, even when presented with their murder weapon, what can you really do? Go on, you can run away and die with this planet like the pitiful rodent you are, or you can join them by attempting to avenge them, quite honestly, I could care less either way."

All those memories they shared, all the feelings she had for him, the nicknames, the missions, the training sessions,...Stevonnie...all of it, it was gone in that instant, the only thing remaining being the memories of that knife in her parents, the feeling of pure hate and anger, a need for vengeance, a single goal left in mind at that very moment: kill Steven.

Much to the monarch's surprise, she didn't take the offer, instead, she picked up the kitchen knife and gripped it tightly in her right hand as her eyes showed just how much hate she had for him. "Oh? The organic still has fight left in it after all?"

"I'm going to kill you, or I'll die trying." She spoke through gritted teeth, Steven practically able to feel her intent to end his life. The Diamond of course had no interest in giving the human the satisfaction of dying by his hand, so he set a hand on Spinel's head. "I trust you can handle this."

"Hehe, of course my Diamond, I'll take care of her for ya." The pink Gem agreed with a smile as she summoned her scythe, not even bothering to change the setting as she was aware a normal blade was her best option.

Once Steven stepped back, Connie charged at him, not even focusing on Spinel, but that of course was her mistake, as before she could even get close to him, the Gem swung her scythe and tore through the arm that was wielding the murder weapon.

She stumbled to a stop as her limb fell to the floor with a thud, the room now quiet enough to hear her blood spilling onto the floor. "Tell Doug and Piryanka I said hi, if there really is an afterlife that is." He requested with a grin as he glanced back to her.

After a few seconds, Connie passed out from blood loss, the human dropping onto the floor. "Go ahead and finish her off." Steven ordered as he dropped his shield that was held up at the front of the house, only to see that Greg had left. "Huh, couldn't take the blood I guess." The monarch spoke with a shrug, only to sense Gem energy charging his way, though he was too late to stop it, as Garnet came in through a window and punched him across the room, resulting in the Diamond slamming against the temple door.

"Steven!" Spinel shouted out as she activated the destabilizer function on her scythe. The fusion charged her and ducked under a swing of her weapon, only for it to come back around from above, though thankfully she caught it by the handle with her gauntlet and snapped it in half before kicking the pink Gem in her stomach, sending her flying back towards Steven, allowing the aforementioned monarch to catch her.

"So, you finally came then? Unfortunately you're too late: Connie is bleeding out and the warp pad is broken," The Diamond informed her with a smug look as he motioned down to the shattered platform. "and even if it wasn't, I've already had the fountain emptied. I'd go on with a speech about how this failure would loom over you for the rest of your life, but that would only account for the next minute at most." He was quick to realize that the fusion was ignoring him and grabbing the dying human, holding her in her arms gently. Steven blocked of the exits with his shields once again, but Garnet just broke through the floor, landing under the house before taking off.

"Damnit!" Steven spoke through gritted teeth as he dissipated his shields and ran outside tearing the door off its hinges, only to see Greg's van speeding off as fast as it possibly could, something he wouldn't be able to keep up with. "For fuck sake!" He growled as he grabbed the guardrail of the deck and crushed it in his clenched his fist, his headpiece glowing faintly as he did so.

The monarch let out as sigh before taking a deep breath, as he was working on getting control of his emotions. Once he had calmed down, he could hear a quiet crying from within the house, his attention going back to Spinel who was on her knees and holding the two broken halves of her scythe.

Spinel was heartbroken, the gift Steven had given her was destroyed by that disgusting fusion, and she had hardly been able to even use it! What kind of warrior was she? "It's broken, I'm so sorry Steven, I wasn't good enough and now I've already broken your gift."

"Dry your tears, your 'gift' isn't broken." Steven spoke with a sigh as he grabbed the bottom half from her hands. "Your scythe is just a scythe, the special thing about your weapon was the Diamond energy that was installed in it." He explained, removing the diamond from the bottom of the broken weapon. "I'll just have one of White's Peridots adjust another scythe for you."

Spinel wiped her eyes with her arms before looking up to him. "R-Really? So my gift from you isn't actually broken?" She asked with hope in her voice as she looked up to him, seemingly cheering up to an extent that it could still be saved, though still disappointed that she did such a poor job fighting the rebel.

"No, you'll just be unable to fight for a while." Steven explained as he set the energy source in her hands. "Now let's go, we got an invasion to lead." He ordered as he motioned for Lion to stand up before hopping on his back.

"Right, thank you Steven." Spinel smiled as she climbed up behind him and wrapped her arms around his torso, the pink Gem leaning against her Diamond. Once he was sure they were ready, he ordered Lion to go outside. "Alright then, beast, get us inside the ship that's over the town." Steven ordered once they were out there, the pink feline doing as he was told and making a portal.

And yeet skeet, Connie's arm is now delete. Lmao, I know that it seems like I'm fucking the poor girl over here, but I promise I have a reason.

Welp, those spoilers aside, I wanna advertise my new server:

Are you tired of people criticizing you for a ship you like? Do you want to be able to go somewhere where toxicity is a bannable offense? Well just hit me up on Discord (Erebus #3732) and I'll get you in a server that has exactly those rules! And that goes for everyone! If you like Conniverse (idk why you're here, this is the complete opposite of that lmao) then you can feel safe around Stevinel shippers here, because we don't pick favorites, idc who you ship, if you're treating others like crap because who they ship, you're out.

Now we aren't completely censoring you, you can kindly voice your opinion about a ship, just don't be attacking others and whatnot.

You aren't a big fan of shipping? That's fine too, you can just come and hang out with other fans of SU, as the server isn't really heavy about shipping, it's just a place for shippers to hang out unjudged and fans of the show just to meet up and make friends.

Anyways, as always

Good morning, goodnight, or good afternoon, I'll see you all again soon
