Chapter 19: Comfort

Disclaimer: I do not own Shingeki no Kyojin

Previously: Petra tells Eris she and Levi had sex together. Eris wonders if it's a good idea long-term. Hange and Mike find out Levi and Petra had sex. Erwin also tells Levi to be careful.

Shadis is still supposed to be the SC commander. I'll eventually go back and fix it. Won't really change the story in any major way, though.

Petra stared hard at her husband across the table. He's like a statue! She couldn't read anything on his face. He was keeping it carefully blank. Her eyes shifted down to the cards in her hand. After debating, she decided to go for it. "Four of a kind," she declared, laying the cards out for him to see.

"Hm," Levi grunted, revealing his hand. "Full house."

She gasped. "You cheat!"

He rolled his eyes at her theatrics, knowing she wasn't being serious. "Off," he said instead, waving a finger to her shirt.

Oh well. It wasn't like she minded stripping for him. Just to tease him, she took her time unbuttoning her blouse, revealing her pale pink bra. What had started out as an innocent game of poker had quickly turned dirty when Levi brought up stakes to make it fun. He sure hadn't expected her answer to be their clothes. Not that he'd had any complaints. Especially since she was down to her underwear now while he had lost only a jacket and his socks. A few minutes later, she lost what little she had left.

"Fine, you win," she sighed, crossing her arms over her chest, not missing how it pulled his attention to her breasts. "Do you want a prize?" Petra asked suggestively. "Ask me anything and I'll give it up to you."

He leaned back in his chair, thinking. "I want..." Levi started slowly.

"Yes?" Petra purred.

"...rose tea."

"Huh?"

"Call the servants and have them prepare me some."

"Seriously? Your beautiful wife is sitting naked in front of you offering you anything you want and the thing on your mind is tea?"

"Of course not. I also want some cucumber sandwiches."

Shooting him a dirty look, she huffed, pushing her chair back. Before she could pull on the discarded bra she snatched up from the floor, a pair of hands grabbed her hips, making her jump. When did he get behind me? Petra thought, surprised and thrilled at his sneaky move.

"Then again, the snacks can wait," he breathed in her ear, one thumb rubbing her nipple. He spun her around to face him, pushing her back onto the small table.

Petra couldn't help but be aroused by it. The fact he was still dressed while she was bare and vulnerable before him turned her on even more. She sighed at all his touches and kisses. Petra made a happy little noise when at last she was ready and he buried himself deep inside her. Legs wrapped securely around his waist, she held on to him.

She's so warm and comfortable. He loved how she squirmed on the table as he moved inside her.

Eyes closed, Petra experienced him through her other senses. The rustling of his clothes, the wet smacking sounds their bodies made, his grunts. He smelled faintly of soap and she tasted his lips when he kissed her. She completely lost herself to him, back arching when she finally came. Levi gripped the table as he continued to fuck her relentlessly on it.

"Damn," he said after he was done, straightening out his clothes, "now I'll have to shower again." Petra sat up. He always thought she looked particularly beautiful after a good banging. Her skin glowed and there was be a blissful smile on her face. It brought him no small measure of pride and joy knowing it was because of him.

"Why would you need to—"

A servant interrupted her, knocking on the door. "Excuse me."

Despite knowing the man wouldn't enter without permission, Levi unconsciously stepped in front of his naked wife to block her from view. "What is it?"

"Dinner will be ready in an hour, sir."

"Thank you," Petra called out. "That means your friends will be here in half an hour." They had been told to arrive at six-thirty sharp. It would give them some time to chat before dinner was served at seven.

"Good," Levi said. "Plenty of time to clean up then. Mike's got the nose of a damn bloodhound." No way he was going to get caught smelling of sex a second time.

"Carry me to the bathroom." She'd rather not make the awkward walk there herself so she could clean up. Petra reached behind her and pulled off a card sticking to her back. "I believe this is yours," she said, handing the queen of hearts to him.

As expected, their guests arrived right on time. Erwin and Mike were wearing suits, Hange and Nanaba in skirts with blazers. Levi was surprised when he caught himself thinking how underdressed they looked. Any other time he would have thought they looked well-dressed. But at the manor, too used to finely dressed nobles that stopped by, his friends looked strange in their humble clothing. They clashed against the image and air of elegance and luxury he associated with the enormous house.

Since when had he become such a snobby bastard? Levi felt embarrassed and a little ashamed with himself. Had he forgotten so quickly where he came from? At least they were all born aboveground. He came from the gutters. Who was he to look down on them?

Clearly Petra must have read something on his face because she muttered quietly to him. "Relax. Considering the guests who come over are nobles and even the uniforms we provide the servants are also top quality, of course you'll notice how they stand out. Imagine, if, at your HQ, I showed up in this outfit" —she gestured to her dress with the short beaded lace blouse and a long smooth peach skirt— "I'd stick out like a sore thumb, too."

It's not the same. Levi appreciated what she was trying to do but he still felt like a prick.

"Lady Petra," Erwin greeted, kissing Petra's hand. "Wonderful to see you again." He smiled dazzlingly, voice low and smooth.

Levi almost rolled his eyes. Already starting to lay on the charm, huh?

After exchanging pleasantries, they led the group deeper into the manor.

"I can't believe you get to live here." Mike marveled at the large luxurious house as Erwin and Petra were already in a discussion about politics.

"The servants do an excellent job of cleaning."

Nanaba snorted. "Of course that's what you're concerned with the most."

"I can't wait to get served breakfast in bed," Hange sighed, daydreaming about servants bringing her delicious food while she stayed curled up under her warm comforter.

"You're dining with us tomorrow morning," Levi reminded her.

"Aw, so I won't get breakfast in bed?"

"Well, if you want, yes. The servants will answer if you call them."

"Oh well, maybe next time," Hange decided, not wanting to be rude.

The manor had several different dining rooms that were used depending on the number of guests they were expecting. Majority of the time they used the small one since it was just him and Petra, or Eris on occasion when she joined them. But his wife had stated it was too casual to receive guests other than close family members. Plus it wasn't every day people got to dine with nobles so why not go for the elegant option? It would surely prove to be a more fun experience for their guests.

The second dining room with its reddish-brown table and chairs could fit almost two dozen people. Six places had been set at one end of the table, four on one side for the guests and two on the other for the lord and lady of the manor. Petra's favorite china set was out with polished silver utensils gleaming in the light coming from the candelabras installed into the walls. Two elegant vases with fresh flowers were placed in the middle. The servants stood nearby with trays full of rich dishes, waiting to serve them. At Petra's nod, they began. Many compliments were made to the cooks as they enjoyed their meal.

"Levi said he gave you some lessons on the 3D gear," Mike said to Petra. "He was very impressed with your skills."

Levi suppressed a groan. Why did he have to bring that up?

"Really?"

"Oh yes," Nanaba answered, "we were shocked, really. He's not one to hand out praise very easily."

"He even said you would have been good enough to make it into the top ten as a trainee," Hange added unhelpfully.

Grinning widely, Petra turned to Levi. "You never told me that."

"Your head already barely fits your ego. It was only for your safety I didn't want to add to it."

"How rude. At least I'm not a pervert. Remember that time you grabbed my—"

"For the hundredth time, I only tapped. I can't believe you still won't let that die."

"Don't be silly. I will never let that go."

"Look at them, bickering like a real couple," Hange cooed, smiling at the scene as the two went on, oblivious to their guests.

He genuinely likes her. Erwin had rarely seen Levi let himself be so much at ease in human company. The only people he allowed himself to fully let his guard down around Erwin could count on one hand. And they were all sitting at the dining table now.

After dinner, the two gave the group a tour of the manor. By far Hange's favorite spot was the library. "Is this what I think this is?" She stared in awe at an old manuscript behind a glass cube. On it were the initials A.A. The book was sitting by itself on a shelf.

"If you're thinking it's an old journal of Angel Aaltonen, then you would be correct," Petra said smugly. "It was rather difficult to procure but I had to have it."

Immediately the rest of them eagerly flocked to it, muttering in interest.

As far as Levi was concerned it was just a dusty old book. Granted, he had to admit they owed a lot to the man who had contributed so much to the invention of the 3D gear, allowing them to fight against the Titans, giving humanity a chance, but the book itself held only notes about different inventions that were long outdated now.

Levi's eyes drifted to the diwan sofa and he tried to keep his face straight, remembering what they did the last time he was there. Petra gave him small knowing smile when she noticed him looking.

Next stop was the music room and Petra played the violin for them. Levi glanced at the piano. Sometimes he liked to come in and play the song Petra had taught him. Maybe he'd ask her to teach him another one. Music or instruments had never held much interest for him before then. But there was something comforting about the thought of sitting at the piano and enjoying playing a nice song. Maybe he could learn a new song and surprise Petra and play it for her.

"What?" Really?" Petra giggled. Steam rose from the cup of hot coco between her hands. The group had gathered in the parlor for a sweet hot drink before they would retire for the night.

"So you see, despite how uptight and professional he seems now, Levi used to be a real pain in the ass to his superiors," Mike told her.

"What about you? Any annoying things about living with him?" Hange asked, eager to know.

"Hm. I can't really think of any at the moment. Although I was worried at one point he was going to get fat from gorging on all those apple strudels."

"Levi and sweets, I just can't picture," Nanaba said. But the thought of Levi, ever so serious and grim, pigging out was an amusing one.

"I believe you sent him a bribe once. Was that what it was?" Erwin guessed, recalling Petra's servant delivering a package to Levi so he'd agree to styling his hair a certain way for some party. "He gave me such a scathing look when I tried to touch it."

"I think that's enough for one night," Levi interrupted before they could really get going. "It's pretty late." Much to his relief, they agreed.

On the way back to their bedroom after seeing their guests to their rooms, Petra glanced guilty at her husband. "Levi, you're not upset, are you? We didn't pick on you too much, did we?"

"Relax. You were all kind of annoying but it didn't bother me." Overall it had been a nice night and he'd enjoyed himself. Just him and the people closest to him eating good food, having easy conversation, relaxed, no worries.

Petra didn't make a move on him like he had been expecting and wishing her to. He was hoping to have sex with her but didn't know how to approach it. Admittedly he wasn't brave enough yet to initiate things himself. Fear of looking stupid and rejection made it difficult. It was much easier when Petra would at least flirt with him first, which was a great indicator that let him know she wasn't going to turn him down. That made making the first physical move easy.

Minutes later his decision about whether or not to take action was made for him when he realized Petra was fast asleep. With a frustrated sigh, Levi turned over. You've really gotta stop being such a chicken shit. Words he never thought he would tell himself.

"I hope you all slept comfortably," Petra said, spreading some jam on a piece of toast.

"Really well, thank you."

"It was wonderful."

"I've never slept in a more comfortable bed."

"How did you two sleep?" Hange asked not so innocently.

"Awful," Levi deflected quickly, not giving her the reaction she was hoping for. "Petra snores like a bear."

"I do not. Eris," she said the name like a curse. It was her cousin who first started the stupid bear-snore thing at the wedding and Levi would often use it to annoy her. She quickly changed the subject. "Levi tells me soon there's going to be an expedition that involves finding a new place to set up an outpost in Titan territory."

"It's going to be rather dangerous," Erwin said, "more so than usual, because this time the objective isn't to take out as many Titans as possible. Instead we have to scout around for the perfect location. We won't just be heading for places that we know are perfect for using the 3D gear to slay Titans, but searching around in other places to find the ideal location for humanity's first outpost in Titan territory in eight years."

Petra could vaguely remember that nearly a decade ago, the Survey Corps' outpost in Titan territory had been overrun by Titans and the commander had taken a lot of heat for it.

"For this upcoming expedition, though," Mike said, "it'll be the usual one with the focus being on taking out as many Titans as possible."

Nanaba nodded. "We're still waiting on approval from the Royal Government for the outpost and it probably won't even come up for serious discussion until after this upcoming expedition."

"Commander Shadis is really pushing for it and I'm sure he'll get approval," Hange said confidently.

Erwin and the others left an hour later after breakfast and as much as he'd liked having them over, Levi was glad when it was just him and Petra again.

"I've got some work to take care of. I'll see you at lunch."

Levi debated throwing her over his shoulder and taking her up to their bedroom. Or the nearest empty room. After all, she'd drag him somewhere private when she wanted him. He should do it, too. But she said she had work to do. That meant she might refuse and he'd be left embarrassed. Better to wait until she wasn't busy. Higher chance of her saying yes then and less chance of him looking foolish.

"What're you thinking about?" Petra asked, noticing his hesitancy.

"Nothing. Never mind me, did you ever get a reply back from your father?"

"Uh..." She hadn't expected that out of the blue. Ever since she had sent her father a letter in answer to the one he'd sent her about wanting to reconnect with her—she'd politely rejected, citing that her responsibilities meant she couldn't be away from Utopia for long—there had been nothing from him. Petra noticed he didn't offer to come visit her when he had more time on his hands than she did.

"Sorry," Levi apologized quickly. "Didn't meant to spring it on you all of a sudden."

"He hasn't reached out again." After a moment, she said, "Maybe I was too cruel."

"No pointing in forcing a relationship if you don't truly want it."

"Right. Yeah, I guess. Well, I'll see you later then."

You had to bring up her father of all people, didn't you? Levi berated himself, watching as Petra left. He couldn't have brought up anything worse to spoil the morning for her. Levi cursed his cowardice in this one area. Fearless in everything else, intimacy still—as much as he hated to admit it—made him feel insecure and out of his depth. Thankfully Petra was quick to bounce back and was in a much cheerier mood when he saw her for lunch, talking animatedly as usual.

Petra held the pencil at an angle, shading the flower to give is a more realistic look. Birds chirped around her and a soft breeze carried a lovely scent from the gardens next to the gazebo. If only she had some tea, then it would have been perfect. But she'd told the servants she wanted alone time and no one was to disturb unless it was an emergency. Now she wished she'd added snack time to the exception.

Done with the drawing, she placed the sketchbook to her right and enjoyed the view. Petra heard footsteps and knew who it was without opening her eyes. "Good timing. Since you're here, I'm sure the servants will be bringing us tea and snacks soon." Quiet, Levi sat next to her. He didn't say anything. There was a heavy air around him that rang alarm bells in her head. The expedition must have been a bad one. She was well aware he kept up the impervious exterior for others' sake and only allowed himself to feel grief once—and only when he was lone— then move on. He wouldn't let the pain and loss drown him but due to his special position, he couldn't let himself show it much either.

Taking a few quick seconds to debate, she scooted closer to him and placed her head on his shoulder. Months ago she had told him: "I'm your friend, your wife, too, so feel free to lean on me, whenever you need."

But Levi was too emotionally self-reliant for that. He was not one to make himself so vulnerable, thus dependent on anyone. Once, long ago, he had told her that he was an aberrant human and that was how he had survived for so long. So she had to be the one to reach out and offer him comfort, careful not to push it too much and make him feel awkward or smothered.

Slowly she felt him relax, his muscles loosening. Surprisingly he also let her hold his hand. Thought for sure he'd reject this. It made her strangely humbled that he was allowing her to comfort him. For someone like Levi to let her do this meant she had his trust and care.

Finally, she pulled away, rubbing his shoulder, and pulled him to his feet. "C'mon, let's go get some lavender tea with finger sandwiches."

"You always know what to say."

"You're easy to please. Some tea and peace and quiet, and you're all set."

While they snacked in the parlor, Levi told her about the expedition. "It was a disaster, to say the least. And we'd just started to convince the Royal Government to provide us with supplies for the next expedition too. Talk about shit timing."

"I remember you telling me about it when your friends came over. It was for setting up an outpost in Titan territory, right?"

"Part of this expedition was to find a place where we could properly store the supplies we'd need to build that outpost. There are about four to five weeks between expeditions so it had to be a place protected from animals and the elements since we wouldn't be there to maintain it. And also because it'd be too much of a pain to have to carry everything around every single damn time. So we really needed a secure depot."

"A lot of soldiers died on this?" Petra asked softly.

"A lot of solders die every time we go out there. But this time, it was more than the usual." Then, after a moment, he added, "It's taking a toll on the commander." Levi didn't necessarily like Keith Shadis but he respected the man. Not as much as he respected Erwin, though. Shadis also didn't have Erwin's intelligence and ruthlessness and charm. As bad as it seemed, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for Shadis to step down and hand over the reigns to Erwin. Petra agreed when he said as much.

"I'm with you there. Erwin's charming and cunning and convincing. The nobles definitely like him and admire him a lot more. He's got more political sway, thanks to that sharp mind and smooth tongue of his."

"It's still gonna be a shitty feeling though. Shadis has given over a decade of his life to the cause and he's gotten nowhere with his goals. Erwin's made more progress in just the past few years alone than the commander has in thirteen. And honestly, I don't think Shadis can take much more of this."

"You think he'll retire?"

"I think he's one bad expedition away from leaving the Corps for good. I can't see him quitting the military so I'm guessing he'll transfer. There're rumors already he's planning on naming Erwin the commander." The military was a big part of Shadis' identity and Levi couldn't see him going into any sort of other profession. And at his age, it was a tad too late to for a career change.

"What would you do?" Petra questioned him suddenly. "Say you had to leave the military, what would you do with your life?" All his life all Levi had done was survive, she thought suddenly. First as a starving kid. Then even growing with his uncle it wasn't like his life was easy for them. Eventually he'd found his friends but they still lived in poverty. Once he joined the Survey Corps, he didn't have to worry about four walls and a roof and food, but now he had to survive against man-eating monsters on an almost monthly basis. That remained true even now when he had married into nobility. "Based on your history I'm sure you'll pick a hard road."

"Never really thought about it."

"Just imagine for a minute you quit being a soldier. Instead of all the funds I give to the Corps I give them to you. Financially, you're set. What would you do?"

"What would you do if you had all the resources you have now but none of the responsibility?" Levi turned it on her.

"I asked you first."

"I asked you second."

"That's now how this works."

"I don't know, Petra," he confessed honestly.

"Fine," she said, misunderstanding him. "Be that way."

Levi didn't correct her. That what he meant when he said he didn't know was that he wouldn't know what to do with himself. Oddly enough, it was intimidating to think about. What do you do when you have everything? Wouldn't all your material possessions lose value? Could objects really bring you any real satisfaction when there was no challenge in obtaining them and it was all readily available at the tips of your fingers? They would be worthless.

"I'd rather just live a simple, peaceful life with enough money to stay in comfort but I'd still need to work," Levi finally said.

"That would be a fine life." She smiled and nodded. "Are you feeling better now?"

"I am."

Levi sat at the edge of the large bed, waiting for Petra. She had run off to to the library to grab something to read and fall asleep to. He planned to put her to sleep in a different way.

He wanted her and he wasn't about to get in his own way again. Petra couldn't always be the one to start things.

She returned with a dark book in hand. "I'm in the mood for some horror," she said.

For a second there his resolve wavered. But no, whenever Petra wanted him she made it obvious and came after him. He never said no to her. No reason it would be any different if he was the one to initiate things and without getting suggestive hints from her first, too. And he wanted her to feel wanted too. Resolute, he walked up to her, cutting her off mid-sentence with a kiss. "You won't be needing this," he said, taking the book from her. One arm around her waist he kissed her again, leading her closer to their bed, his intention clear.

Petra was all for it. It felt nice to have him go after her for a change. It made her feel desired. He pressed her back to one of the posts of the bed, tossing aside her book. He opened his mouth and she explored it eagerly with her tongue.

She sighed when he moved down to her necklace and collar. He kissed her throat, loving the soft skin against his dry lips.

Levi knelt down, his hands slowly coming down her body before tracing their way up again under her nightgown. As the white cloth lifted, he kissed the lovely skin that was exposed: her knees, her inner thighs, her hip. He pulled down her panties and she swallowed. Levi stood, gripping her thighs and she moved as he wanted so he could lift her, wrapping her legs around him. He carried her to the bed while she peppered him with kisses.

He put her down and lifted her nightgown over her head before taking off his. It was so thrilling, holding her naked in his arms. Levi took his time exploring her body. He wanted to familiarize himself with every curve and every dip. He squeezed her waist, nuzzling his face into her plush chest.

"Is that your favorite part of my body?" Petra had noticed how much attention and affection he gave to her chest every time.

"Yes. Fuck, I love your tits. And your neck." He kissed the soft flesh of her neck that always made her sigh deeply. "And your lips."

Petra trailed her fingers down his back. "I like your back."

"Not my dick?"

She laughed. "I like your dick too. But your back is my favorite."

"Why my back?"

"I don't know. I just really like it." She loved his shoulders and the firm hard muscles of his back. And the shape of it and the bones of his spine. Something about his back just made her shiver in delight.

"Let me see your back," he said and she flipped over. Levi admired the curve of her body from her shoulders to her hips as well as her round ass, giving it a squeeze, which she obviously liked. It was so easy to initiate things. He didn't know why he'd thought so hard about taking the lead. All he had to do was follow his instincts and her sighs and moans would confirm if she liked what he was doing to her—and everything he'd done so far she liked. So he kissed the base of her spine. Kiss by kiss he slowly moved up until he reached her nape. She moved her head to allow him access to her neck. It caused tingles across her skin when he kissed it.

Petra tilted her head back to kiss him, cupping his face with one hand. She hummed in pleasure when she felt his grope her breasts. She reached behind her to grab his cock. This time he hummed as she stroked him. "Do you want to take me like this?" Petra asked, positioning his tip at her entrance and rubbing it against her clit, teasing both herself and him. He quite enjoyed this position last time they did it.

Levi considered that and said, "No." He lay her on her back, on his knees before her. He picked up her right leg and began to kiss it. "No, I want to see all of you," he said, pressing his lips to her thigh. She nearly swooned as he stroked her inner thigh. "Are you ready for me?"

"Yes." Finally, he entered her, staring with slow and deliberate motions. "Levi," she moaned out his name when began moving in a fast, steady pace.

Her leg still in the air, Levi caught her caught and kissed the sole of her foot. She let out a sweet little gasp and he felt a rush of pleasure at doing this act, which he would have never imagined himself to be capable of doing. But being inside her and the feeling of her clenching his dick causing him to to be filled with such daring. Delicious chemicals were being released in his brain and they made him feel bold and step out of his comfort zone. He kept her foot pressed to his chest as he continued fucking her.

Petra pushed out her chest, feeling her orgasm coming. Her leg slipped over his should and he leaned in to kiss her hungrily, their bodies making that wet smacking that added to her budding climax.

All he could think about was how good it felt. Like nothing, not even cleaning, made him feel this way. Levi became excited. From the fast sounds she was making and her trembling he knew she was almost at her peak.

"I'm coming," she told him, wanting him to know it was because of him. And then came that wonderful tidal wave that made her stop thinking, only pleasure and joy on her mind.

She was still experiencing her orgasm when he reached his. Levi let out a satisfied groan, emptying himself in her.

Breathing deeply, with a thin layer of sweat, he pulled out. She made that cute little noise she always did when he removed herself from her body. A mix between a sigh of pleasure and a whimper at the loss.

Some of his cum leaked out of her womanhood, which glistening from her own orgasm fluid. It should have disgusted him, ashamed him. Instead, as always, he felt a deep rush of pride. You're a fucking animal. Levi thought to himself, lying down. When it came to sex his normal thoughts flew out the window while they were in the throes of it and after a satisfying conclusion. Instinct took over and instead of being put off by things that would normally revolt him, he not only did them and really liked them, they brought him pride.

Petra started giggling. "It's cute."

"What is?"

"I've noticed you'll look like you're so proud of yourself, then you look like you disapprove because you shouldn't like it."

Levi left for the bathroom, grabbing his boxers as he did so. Petra turned spread her arms out, smiling happily. She felt the bed dip slightly when he joined her. "Open up," Levi said, gently moving her knees apart.

What he's doing? Her heart fluttered when he started gently wiping a warm towel to her thighs.

"It's not to hot, is it?"

Petra felt a nameless feeling come over her. "No, it's nice." It was a warm and pleasant feeling, being cared for like that.

"Sit up," he said and she did. He could feel her watching him but he was more focused on his task.

"You can just leave it in the bathroom," she said, knowing he was going to clean the towel himself. "The servants will take care of it."

"No thanks. I'd rather do it myself." It creeped Levi out, the thought of strangers touching his cum. It belonged either in his wife or washed out—thinking about the former made him shiver in a very good way.

Petra took her turn in the bathroom after he was done.

"Can I ask you something?" Levi asked when she returned. "Every single time we have sex, you go to the bathroom a few minutes after we're done. Does it really effect your bladder that much? Is that common? I end up having to take a leak a lot of the times afterward too."

"Health benefit," she answered, yawning, pressing her face into her pillow. "It's not necessary but it's helpful. For women it's especially good. Flushes out bacteria and helps prevent some urinary infection. I don't think it's as necessary for men—something to do with anatomy—but still better than not doing it, I suppose."

"I see."

"And, of course, there's the cleanup part." She opened her eyes and smiled lazily. She loved how he had helped out with it, helped take care of her. So she didn't have to awkwardly waddle to the bathroom so she wouldn't spill. "Wasn't so bad this time though."

"Well, as you know, I do like cleaning. So I don't mind doing it again in the future." In fact, he'd love to. There was something strangely intimate and important about the act. Levi wanted to keep taking care of her like that. Less than half a year ago the thought of sex and the mess afterward would have had him shuddering in revulsion.

"Thanks," she replied sleepily, eyes closed again.

After watching her drift off, he pulled up the covers, scooting closer to her. Head bowed, his forehead almost brushing hers, he fell asleep listening to her rhythmic breathing, holding her close.
