"Following Uhai's last words, Eliwood ventures toward the heart of the forest. He is greeted by an extraordinary sight. A building unlike any he's ever seen. It was clearly not wrought by human hands. It is waiting...waiting for the masters who abandoned it centuries past. Massive beyond belief, these ancient ruins have nothing to do with humankind. Eliwood has arrived. He has found the Dragon's Gate." David said.

"I can… sense danger here. It's impending." Ninian said.

"Um...are you okay?" Dan asked.

"We should have never come here. No...I should have never come here." Ninian said. "Something awful will happen if I'm here."

"What're you talking about, NInian?" Hope asked.

"Oh that should not be your concern." a voice said as a cloaked man stood behind them. "Ah...the little travelling army. I hope you enjoyed the gift I left you all in the woods."

"So, you were the one that's responsible for Leila's death." David said.

"Yes. My name is Ephidel and...I will be taking her." he said pointing to Ninian. "She is needed for the master's ceremony."

"I shouldn't have come here. I'm a danger to you all…" Ninian said.

"You've escaped twice from our grasp, little bird. But you will not fly away again." Ephidel said grabbing Ninian and teleporting away.

"Stop!" David said before members of the Black Fang surround them. "We've got trouble. Out of our way!"

"Heh...no way." a man in armor said. "Okay, men. See all these mice infesting our place? Exterminate them!" he ordered.

"We don't have time for this. That Ephidel guy is gonna get away with Ninian." Hector said.

"The throne...that's where he went for. We need to work our way there." Jexi said.

"Let's get to work then." David said.

The group then charged through the temple, advancing to the throne room.

"So, what do you think the Black Fang is planning to do with Ninian?" Glimmer asked.

"No clue but I don't think we want to find out what it is or keep questioning it." Vashyron said.

"Vashyron's right, we can't think about that right now. Ninian needs us." Hope said.

The group continued to advance, cutting down anyone in their way.

"Hey, look! One of their thieves is getting away!" Eddy said, pointing to a man with purple hair slipping away from the other enemy troops.

"Hang on, I got him!" Scarlet said, dashing forward and cutting off the man's escape. "And where do you think you're going?"

"So, you caught me?" the man asked.

"Looks that way to me." Scarlet said. "Although...now that I think about it, seems to me you were about to head down a path opposite of where we're going. Why's that?"

"Simple. I was stealing from the Black Fang and then going to leave." they said.

"Really? You're bailing the Fang? Huh...you know what? As long as you're stabbing them in the back, you want to join up with us?" Scarlet asked. "I'm sure you'd enjoy it."

"Fine. I'll join." he said.

"Great! Pleasure to welcome you, Mr...sorry, I didn't get your name." Scarlet apologized.

"You really are a strange one, are you? The name's Legault." he introduced. "And I'll stay with you. So long as you keep me safe."

"We can definitely do that, Legault. We've never lost a soldier." Scarlet said. "Our tacticians are the best!"

"Will you idiots focus on the battle?" Gajeel shouted.

"Right...battle." Scarlet said.

They continued to fight through the enemies before reaching the throne.

"Okay old man. It's about time you gave up." Ranma said.

"Old man? Who do you think I am?! I am Darin, Marquess Laus! Ruler of this world!" the man said.

"Really now? I guess that explains why you allied with this lot." Sectonia said. "How delusional you are, unaware that you've been reduced to a mere puppet."

"Me, a puppet? What fools. They are my tools and I am their master. Just as all of you should be." Darin said.

"Tools can kill you if they're not used properly." Captain Cold said.

"How dare you ridicule me. I will have this world even if i have to decimate every part of this land!" Darin said.

"You can't." Lyndis said before cutting right through him. "Because dead men don't rule anything."

"Blood? Is this…my blood? Ephidel! Come to me! Your master… calls you! I am the ruler… of…the…world…" he said, gasping out before collapsing on the ground.

"A fitting end for a power-hungry fool like him." David said. "Come on, let's go! Ninian and Eliwood's dad are further ahead."

"Go!" a voice shouted as Elbert, Eliwood's father, tossed Ninian over to them. "You must leave with that girl! She's the key to the Dragon's Gate!"

"Not without you. Come on. We're here to bring you back with us." David said as he placed Elbert's arm over his shoulder, the group beginning their escape.

"You...will not escape from this alive." a man in back said, tossing a knife as it hit Elbert in the back. "You might get away with the girl...but not with your life." he said before vanishing as an explosion filled the Dragon's Gate.

Once the group got back to the forest, David set Elbert on the ground, having Raine and Ramona use healing spells on him.

"Something's wrong. That dagger did something to him, we can't heal him." Ramona said.

"I thank you all for trying but...I think this is where I say I am done here." Elbert said weakly.

"But… Lord Erbert, your son has been searching for you for so long. And just when we were able to reunite you too…" David said.

"I'm sorry but I must now say it is up to my son to finish all of this." Elbert said. "Oh...and when you return home, tell your mother...I'm sorry." he said before shutting his eyes.

Leonora closes her eyes and takes in his soul.

"Miss Leonora… You didn't have to do that on my account." Eliwood said.

"Leonora is a Valkyrie. She has the right to give your father another chance." Hope said.

"Your father was a proud and honorable man, Eliwood. In the end, he spent his last moments aiding you in your time of need." Leonora said. "And now, he is counting on you to finish what he has started. Not only as his kin, but as a true Lord of Pherae. I have only taken in his soul so that he can see the world that you create."

"You're right. I need to finish this. For his sake." Eliwood said.
