When it was close to the evening, Irma attempted to try to get the medallion again. While walking, she saw Indy and Marion talking with Sallah. So she hid somewhere where she can see them, but they couldn't see her. The woman then saw the medallion in Marion's hand.

"There's zhat medallion I need..." Irma said to herself. "And I vill get it zhis time!"

Irma came out of her hiding place as she quietly walked towards the group of three. She went on her knees, slowly reached her hand towards the medallion, and gently, yet also quickly snatched it as she ran away with it. Marion felt her hand move and saw Irma running away with the medallion.

"HEY!" Marion shouted. "GET BACK HERE!"

"COME BACK WITH THAT MEDALLION!" Indy shouted.

But it was too late. Irma was already out of their sight.

"Great!" said Marion, all upset. "There she goes!"

"She got away with it!" said Sallah. "And we haven't even gotten a chance to find the Ark!"

"And we found instructions on how to locate it!" said Marion. "Ugh, this is terrible! The Nazis are going to find the lost Ark before us!"

"Well, even if the Nazis find it," said Indy, "we will get it back and bring it to the museum."

"How Indy?" asked Marion and Sallah.

"I'll find a way," said Indy. "Indiana Jones always finds a way…"

Where Irma was, she made it back to the digging site. But before she can tell her fellow Nazis that she finally got a hold of Marion's medallion, she sees Major Toht talking with Colonel Dietrich, Gobler, and Dr. Belloq. Of course, they were talking about the lost Ark as well as mentioning Indy and Marion, but also about Irma herself since she had too many incidents since she arrived in Egypt. Irma places the medallion inside of her small purse and temporarily hides nearby while listening to the conversation between the four.

"Do you think bringing your sister was a good idea, Major Toht?" asked Dr. Belloq.

"I do not know anymore..." said Major Toht, shaking his head. "She hasn't been very helpful since her and I got here..."

"Not to mention zhat scene she caused at dinner last night," said Gobler.

"Ahh yes," said Colonel Dietrich. "And thinking Toht's scarred hand could locate zhe Ark. Oh! And for some reason, she freaks out over zhat drawing she made."

"Drawing?" said Dr. Belloq, having no clue about Irma's drawing. "What drawing?"

Major Toht takes out Irma's graphic and gruesome drawing out of his bag of torture items and shows the three men it.

"She drew THAT?" Dr. Belloq said, amazed at the details in the drawing.

"She did," said Major Toht.

"She did great on it," said Dr. Belloq. "Looks very nice..."

He then said, "But she thinks Hitler will execute you, Dietrich, and Gobler?"

"Only if ve fail zhis mission," said Major Toht. "But I have told her zhat being a traitor and escaping Nazism vill have us killed."

"Is she a traitor?" asked Dr. Belloq.

"No, she is not," said Major Toht. "If she vas, my sister would've been killed a long time ago."

He then goes on to say, "But mein job is not to kill. It is only to torture."

He pauses and says, "And if she gets into any more trouble while on zhis mission, I vill-"

He couldn't finish his sentence since when he turned his head to the side, he spots Irma hiding nearby. Even though he only saw one side of her head, he knew it was his little sister thanks to the woman's thick, circular, black eyeglasses.

"Aah!" said Major Toht, seeing his sister. "Irma!"

"She vas overhearing us?" said Colonel Dietrich, seeing Irma as well.

"Looks like it," said Gobler.

"How do you know it's her?" asked Dr. Belloq.

"Her glasses alvays give it away," said Major Toht, then calls out to Irma, "Irma! Irma Toht, get over here!"

Irma hides her little purse behind her back as she starts walking slowly to the four men.

"Come right here!" said Major Toht.

Irma stands in front of her brother as she does the Nazi salute with her right hand, while using her left hand to keep her purse behind her back.

"Irma?" said Major Toht. "Vere you eavesdropping on our conversation?"

"Yes..." said Irma, looking down. "I vas…"

"Should I punish her, Dietrich?" Major Toht asked Colonel Dietrich.

"Vell, for eavesdropping..." said Colonel Dietrich.

Colonel Dietrich sees that Irma was hiding something behind her back.

"Soldatin?" he said to her. "Vhat is zhat you have there...?"

"Behind your back, Fräulein Irma," said Gobler.

"Uhhh, it's just meine handtasche," said Irma.

"Irma...?" said Major Toht. "Are you lying...?"

"No Arnold," said Irma, shaking her head. "I am not."

"Show me your handbag then," said Major Toht.

Irma puts her hands in front of her to show him her purse.

"Oh..." said Major Toht, seeing her purse. "So you vere actually telling zhe truth."

Colonel Dietrich then gets a bit suspicious and asked Irma, "Vhat's inside it...?"

"Something zhat vill make you all very happy," said Irma.

"Vhich is?" said Gobler.

"Look…!" said Irma, sticking her hand inside her small purse.

Irma pulls the medallion out of her little purse and holds it up high for all to see.

"I got it!" said Irma, holding the medallion in front of everyone.

Everybody gasped and were surprised that Irma finally got her hands on Marion's medallion.

"Zhe medallion!" said Gobler.

"You found it!" said Colonel Dietrich.

"The Headpiece to the Staff of Ra!" said Dr. Belloq.

"How did you get it?!" asked Major Toht.

"Simple," said Irma, as she was raising her eyebrows. "I snatched it vhen no one vas vatching..."

"Genius!" said Major Toht, all thrilled.

"And I have the staff to go vith it!" said Irma, holding up the Staff of Ra.

"Gut gemacht!" said Major Toht.

"I told you I could do it..." said Irma, smiling sneakily.

She then said, "Now vill you take back calling me a dummkopf?"

"Okay, I take it back," said Major Toht.

"Thank you," said Irma.

"Fräulein Irma," Colonel Dietrich said to Irma, "you may have very well saved zhis mission!"

Irma was surprised to hear that her fellow Nazis are acknowledging her achievements for once.

"I have…?" she said.

Colonel Dietrich nodded his head.

"I knew someday I vould do something right!" Irma said, getting excited.

She then looks at everyone and said, "Uhhh...I mean, I am glad ve now have the way to find zhe lost Ark of the Covenant...Now let's go find it vonce and for all! Komm schon!"

It took a while, but the Nazis found the location of the Ark. It was inside the Well of Souls, which was in the ancient city of Tanis. And when the group got to the Well of Souls, they saw that it was covered by the rocky tomb lid.

"It's sealed shut!" said Dr. Belloq.

"Oh vell, we tried..." said Irma, turning around and starting to walk away from the group

"Irma, come back here!" said Major Toht. "Stay put!"

Irma stops and walks back to the group.

"Good," said Major Toht. "Now ve need to find a way to unseal zhis stone!"

"But how?" asked Irma, then starting to think, "Hmmm…"

She then came up with something as she said, "I have an idea!"

Irma takes a pry bar from one of the Nazi soldiers and places the tip under one of the edges of the stone lid.

"You men lift and remove zhe lid while I pull zhis pry bar upvards!" said Irma, holding the pry bar in the lid.

"You heard her, men!" said Colonel Dietrich. "Get to vork!"

"Do vhat meine schwester says!" said Major Toht.

The Nazi soldiers grab onto the lid as Irma tried her best to pull the lid with the pry bar upwards. But after a few seconds, Irma lost her strength.

"Can someone help me?!" Irma said, as she takes out another pry bar. "If I lift zhis lid much longer, I'll break mein arms!"

Another soldier comes and helps Irma lift the lid with the pry bars. Then when it was high enough, the soldiers worked together to remove the lid and then set it to the side. They successfully got it open. But because it was starting to get dark out due to it being past the evening, it was hard to see what was down below in the Well of Souls.

"Vhat's down zhere?" Irma asked, trying to see.

"Are you wearing your glasses, Irma?" asked Major Toht.

"I am," said Irma. "But it's hard to see. Is zhe Ark even in there?!"

"Only one way to find out," said Major Toht.

"Vhat's zhat?" asked Irma.

"One of us must go down there and search for vhere zhe Ark is," said Colonel Dietrich.

"Who will it be?" asked Dr. Belloq.

Everyone turned and pointed to Irma.

"Mir?" said Irma, pointing to herself.

"Yes you," said Colonel Dietrich.

"Ja," said Gobler.

"Oui," said Dr. Belloq.

"Vhy me?" Irma asked.

"You are zhe vone who found the medallion, Soldatin," said Colonel Dietrich.

"And the staff," said Gobler. "And besides, Fräulein Irma…You are smaller than all of us."

"I am only shorter than mein bruder by only a couple of inches..." said Irma, then looking up at Arnold and saying to him, "Right Arnold?"

"Right," said Major Toht. "But Irma, you can fit in small places."

"Vell, I can," said Irma. "Most of the time..."

"So?" said Major Toht. "Get down zhat well and go find that Ark!"

"But Arnold, it's too dark down there!" said Irma. "How am I supposed to-"

Major Toht hands her a lit up 1920s railroad lantern.

"Oh!" said Irma, accepting the lantern and holding the handle. "Uhhh…Danke."

She looks down and said, "Now how am I supposed to go down in there...? It looks very steep..."

Gobler grabbed a thick and long rope as he and some of the Nazi soldiers lowered it down. Irma then went to one of the edges of the well and grabbed onto the rope, while holding the lantern.

"Now Irma," Major Toht said to his little sister. "Vonce you find zhe Ark's resting place, you uncover it. And when you do, tell us right away and Dietrich vill send some of his men down zhere to remove it and bring it back up here in a vooden crate."

"And Irma, do not take all day down zhere," said Colonel Dietrich. "Ve need to go back to Berlin soon and please our Führer. Understand?"

"Understood," replied Irma.

The soldiers lowered her down. Then when she reached the bottom of the Well of Souls, the rope was lifted back up. Irma then starts to look for the Ark's resting place, as she walks around while lighting her way with the railroad lantern.

"I kind of do not like being underground," Irma said to herself. "But I must do vhat my fellow Nazis say. If I do not find zhe Ark, I vill be in big trouble."

She then heard hissing noises as she started to get nervous.

"Hallo?" she said in a nervous voice, while looking around. "Who's there? Is anybody here?"

She shined the lantern in front of her as she saw thousands and thousands of snakes either resting or slithering on the ground. The Well of Souls was infested with snakes! Snakes didn't usually scare Irma like spiders do, but she only gets afraid of snakes if they get aggressive and lash out at the human for cornering them.

"Snakes?" Irma said, with her eyes wide. "Wow, there are so many of them in here!"

She slowly steps away from the huge number of snakes as she said, "Stay back, please. I vill not bother any of you..."

"Irma, vhat are you doing down zhere?!" Major Toht called from above. "Are you looking?!"

"Yes, I'm looking!" Irma called back.

"Vell, look faster!" said Colonel Dietrich, from above as well.

"Right!" said Irma.

Irma gets a little nervous of the dark, despite having light from the lantern.

"Aah, I don't vant to be down here anymore!" Irma cried, as she tries not to panic. "Please pull me back up!"

"Not until you get zhe Ark of the Covenant!" said Major Toht.

"Fräulein Irma!" said Colonel Dietrich, losing his patience. "You find zhat Ark right now or you vill never see zhe light of day again! JETZT SCHNELL!"

"Y-Yes Colonel!" said Irma, then saying in her head, "Gosh, everyone's getting so impatient..."

Irma then enters a chamber in the Well of Souls. She looks around while in it, but doesn't see anything. Then she finds this big plank of stone sitting on top of stone box. She used her strength to remove the lid and revealed a golden artifact. It was the Ark of the Covenant!

"Oh my gosh…" she said, gasping in amazement. "It's…It's zhe Ark of the Covenant! I found it!"

She gets excited and said, "I better go tell mein brother and the rest about zhis!"

Irma exits the chamber for a moment and goes back to where she started inside the well, making sure everyone can see her.

"ARNOLD! COLONEL!" she cried, all excited while looking up at her fellow Nazis. "I FOUND IT! I FOUND ZHE LOST ARK!"

"Vay to go, Irma!" said Major Toht, feeling proud of her. "Zhat's my little sister!"

"Good vork, Soldatin!" said Colonel Dietrich. "Two of my men vill come get it now!"

Two of the Nazi soldiers went down the Well of Souls. Irma showed them where the Ark was. Then the two men inserted the two poles into the Ark as they worked together to lift the ancient artifact out of its resting place. Then the Ark was placed in a wooden crate and lifted up and out of the Well of Souls, with the two soldiers getting out as well. After that, the soldiers grabbed and lifted the stone lid and closed the tomb, forgetting that Irma was still down there. Irma noticed that the tomb was shut, due to the place being pitch black, as she was trapped inside. This made her very scared since she was alone in a very dark place.

"Huh?" said Irma, getting scared. "Vhat the…? HEY, GET ME OUT OF HERE! I'M STILL DOWN HERE! HALLO?!"

"Now let's get zhis Ark back to Germany to show our Führer!" said Gobler, then noticing how dark it has become since it was finally nighttime. "Of course, after we rest up."

"Good call, Gobler," said Colonel Dietrich, agreeing. "To be strong Nazis, ve must be fully rested!"

"Vait!" said Major Toht, noticing his sister wasn't with the group. "Where's Irma?!"

"HEEEEEEEEEEELP!" Irma screamed.

"Zhat's my sister!" gasped Major Toht. "Men! Rescue her!"

Everyone was already starting to rest on the ground, since it would take a while to get back to Cairo.

"Vhy aren't any of you listening to my orders?!" Major Toht asked, all frustrated. "Hallo?!"

The Gestapo agent sighs as he puts his hand on his face and said, "I guess I vill have to get my little sister myself...But how?"

He thinks of something and said to himself, "I know vhat to do."

Inside the Well of Souls, Irma was sitting down on the floor all worried that she'll never get out.

"How can they forget zhat I am still in here?" Irma asked her, a little upset. "They don't care about me at all!"

"Irma!" Major Toht called out to Irma on another side of the well, but on the outside. "Irma, are you in there?!"

"Arnold?!" said Irma, hearing her brother. "Is zhat you?!"

"Yes it's me!" said Major Toht. "Can you hear me?!"

"I can hear you!" replied Irma, going to where she can hear his voice better.

"Are you alright?" asked Major Toht.

"Ja, I'm fine," said Irma. "But I'm stuck! Can you get me out of here?"

"I vill try," said Major Toht.

"You mean you vill do it, not try..." said Irma, correcting him.

"Yes right, my apologies," said Major Toht. "Now let me see..."

He sees a big stone block that had a little opening and said, "Oh!"

"You found something?" Irma asked.

"Ja!" said Major Toht. "I'm going to get you out, dear sister! Now stand back!"

Irma got out of the way as Major Toht stuck his hand into the opening and pushed the stone block until it fell into the Well of Souls. Then when Irma saw that there was room to go through the opening, she picked up the railroad lantern and went through it.

"There you are, Irma," said Major Toht, pulling her out safely. "You are free."

"Thank you, Arnold," said Irma. "I thought I vas never going to get out of zhere!"

"My pleasure," said Major Toht. "Now let's get zhat Ark!"

"Ve already did," sad Irma, pointing to the wooden crate that contained the Ark.

"Oh," said Major Toht, forgetting for a moment. "Yes, ve have..."

"So next, ve should-" said Irma.

She sees everyone sleeping on the ground.

"Vhy is everybody asleep here?" said Irma, a bit confused. "Do we not have time to go back to the barrack?"

"Gobler suggested ve all sleep out here until the morning because it is very dark right now," said Major Toht. "And going back to Cairo vill take a while..."

"Really?" said Irma, a little unhappy. "Wow, I am not going to be very comfortable on zhe ground...Especially in my uniform..."

"You vill sleep there until morning!" said Major Toht. "Is zhat clear?!"

"Yes…" said Irma. "You didn't have to yell at me, you know..."

"Sorry Irma," said Major Toht.

"Uh huh…" said Irma, a bit annoyed.

She sits down on the ground and lies down.

"Vhy did I even come along if all I get is a yelling from everybody...?" she asked herself.

She tried to fall asleep, but she couldn't.

"I can't sleep…" she said, feeling uncomfortable. "Zhis place is very uncomfortable…"

Irma took off her uniform's jacket and placed it over her upper body, hoping that will give her some comfort. She looks at Major Toht, who had just fallen asleep. Irma scoots over to her brother and lies down as she places her head on his stomach, using it as a pillow.

"Oh Arnold, vhere are the good ol' days?" she said, as she tries not to cry. "We used to be best friends…"
