Angel told Cordelia and Doyle everything. He told them about the dreams Robin and even getting raped by her. "Oh my god Angel I'm so sorry" Cordelia said walking over to him. Angel jumped up from his desk and moved to the corner of his office. "I don't want to hurt you" Angel said without looking at Cordelia. Cordelia looked at Doyle. "Angel honey I'm fine. It was an accident. I'm not mad" Cordelia said. "You should be. Both of you should be. I was so cruel to the both of you. I'm sorry" Angel said not looking at either one of them. "Water under the bridge man. Right now the most important thing is finding out who this Robin woman is and stopping her so that you can get a good night's sleep" Doyle said. "Her name is Robin Berman. I did some research on her. There's a file on my desk" Angel said. Cordelia picked up the file and opened it. "There's an address. We should go and make sure she doesn't go to sleep" she said.
"No. I can't go" Angel said. "Why not" Cordelia asked. "She's going to be there and I can't face her" Angel said shaking his head. "We'll be there to man. We won't let anything happen to you. I promise" Doyle said. Angel finally looked at the two of them. He really didn't look good at all. Not only did he look tired and like he hadn't slept in days but he also looked like a scared little kid which Cordelia and Doyle had never seen from Angel before. "I'm a danger to the two of you. I could hurt one of you or worse. I couldn't live with myself if I severely hurt or killed one of you" Angel said turning to look at Cordelia. "Look what I did to you. I almost killed you. You guys have to stay away from me" Angel said. Cordelia walked over to Angel. "I'm fine. You didn't severely hurt me or kill me. I trust you" she said putting her hand in Angel's. "Me to" Doyle said. Angel pulled his hand away from Cordelia's and turned away from them. "I don't trust myself. Just go please" Angel begged them.
"Fine we'll go and we'll make sure she doesn't enter your dreams again" Doyle said. Cordelia turned to Doyle. "I'm not going without him" she said. "I'm not strong enough" Angel said. Cordelia turned back to Angel. "What" she asked. Angel turned to look at her. "I'm not strong enough to protect you guys. I wasn't strong enough to protect myself. I'm useless" he said. Cordelia's heart broke seeing Angel like this. She hated this Robin woman for what she did to Angel. Cordelia shook her head. "Your not weak Angel" she said. Angel nodded his head. "Robin said I" Angel started but Cordelia interrupted him. "I don't care what Robin said to you. Your not weak. Your the strongest person I know. Don't let her break you Angel" she said gently putting her hand to his face. Angel felt warmth and love coming from her touch. He felt safe. He hugged Cordelia. "I love you" he said. "I love you to" Cordelia said back. When they pulled back from each other Angel smiled at Cordelia. She smiled back at him.
"Guys we really have to go if we're going to stop Robin from haunting Angel's dreams" Doyle said. "You guys go. I'm going to stay here" Angel said. Cordelia shook her head. "I don't know if that's such a good idea" she said. Angel looked away from them. "I can't face her. Not yet" Angel said. He looked back at Cordelia and kissed her. "I'll be fine. I promise. I won't sleep until you guys come back. Besides you two should be fine I wounded her" Angel said looking at the bloody stake on his desk. Cordelia still wasn't sure. "Your sure you'll be OK" she said. Angel nodded his head. "I'm sure" he said. "Fine I'll go but when we call you answer OK" Cordelia said. Angel nodded again. "I will" he said. "OK let's go" Doyle said leaving the office. Cordelia went to leave but Angel grabbed her. She turned to look at Angel. "I really am sorry for everything I said. I didn't mean any of it" Angel said. Cordelia nodded her head and kissed him. "I know you didn't. I'll be back" she said. Angel nodded and watched them leave.
Andy had done research on what Whitaker and his sister were studying at the dream lab. He found out they were studying dream leaping. That's what Whitaker's doing at that dream lab Andy thought. While he was lost in his thoughts Darryl came up behind him. He leaned down to Andy. "The man is in a wheelchair. He's got no motive and he's got an alibi. So tell me again why you think Berman is our suspect" Darryl said as he walked back to his desk. Andy looked at Darryl. "Dream leaping" he said. "Dream leaping" Darryl repeated. "That's what Berman's researching at the lab. Dream leaping. The ability to project himself into someone else's dreams" Andy said. "Into women's dreams and killing them. Now who's dreaming" Darryl asked as he sat on the edge of his desk waiting for Andy to continue explaining. "Not just any women. Women who reject him just like Julie Derickson did. She broke up with him while they were driving somewhere. He got into an accident that's why he's paralyzed" Andy said.
"It's all right there in the police report" Andy said getting up. "The day he went back to work at the lab Julie Derickson died suspiciously. Six months later two more women died in their sleep crushed to death. Coincidence you tell me" Andy said putting on his blazer. "Love to. Can't" Darryl said. "Let's go" Darryl said getting up and grabbing his coat. Darryl and Andy left the station. Andy considered calling Prue but decided against it. He had just talked to her and she was fine. He needed to focus on busting Whitaker so that Prue could sleep in piece tonight. They reached the car and Andy got in the drivers seat and started driving to the dream lab. He just wanted this nightmare to be over for Prue. Andy kept thinking about all the women Whitaker had killed because they rejected him. Prue had rejected him the other night at Quake and now he was going after her but he wasn't going to get her. This all ended tonight.
Cordelia and Doyle had arrived at Robin Berman's house. Doyle got out of the car while Cordelia just sat there. He opened the door and leaned his head in. "You coming" Doyle asked. Cordelia didn't answer. Doyle reached out and shook Cordelia. She jumped a little and looked at Doyle. "You OK" Doyle asked. Cordelia shook her head. "I've never seen Angel like that. So scared so unsure of himself. I mean he was shaking Doyle. I can't believe she hurt him that bad and we didn't even see it" she said. Doyle got back in the car and closed the door. "All that matters is we know now and we are going to stop her from ever doing that to Angel ever again" Doyle said. Cordelia nodded her head. "Your right we have to stop her for Angel" she said. "For Angel" Doyle said. They both got out of the car and approached the house. Doyle tried the door and found it was locked. "Stand back. Angel taught me how to kick in doors" Doyle said. Cordelia pulled him back. "I got this" she said taking a pin out of her hair and picking the lock.
"Where did you learn how to do that" Doyle asked impressed. "I used to always have to sneak into my house without my parents knowing. A skill like that comes in handy" Cordelia said stepping into the house. "You check down here and I'll check upstairs" Doyle said walking to the stairs. Cordelia grabbed him and pulled him back. "Is splitting up really the best idea" she asked. "It'll go faster and the faster we find her and make sure she doesn't sleep the better it will be for Angel" Doyle said. "Good point" Cordelia said as she walked deeper into the downstairs of the house. Doyle walked upstairs. He searched a couple rooms and found nothing. No sign of Robin anywhere. He only had one more room to search. When he opened the door he saw her laying on the bed asleep. "Oh no" he said. He took out his phone and called Cordelia. "Hello" Cordelia answered the phone. "I found her" Doyle said. "I'll be right up" Cordelia said hanging up.
Cordelia made it up the stairs and found the room Doyle was in. When she walked in there she saw that Robin was asleep. "Oh god. So how are we going to wake her up" Cordelia asked. Doyle shook his head. "I don't know" he answered. Doyle walked over to Robin's sleeping body and started shaking her. "Wake up" he shouted. It didn't work. Cordelia came over and slapped her across the face hard. That didn't work either. She saw a flower pot sitting on a table and took out the flowers and poured the water over Robin's body. That didn't work. "Well it was worth a try. What are we going to do" Cordelia asked. "Well if we can't wake her than we have to make sure Angel stays awake" Doyle said. "We don't even know what's making him so tired though" Cordelia said. Just then something on the table caught Doyle's eye. He walked over and saw the powder then a vision hit him. He saw Robin putting the powder in Angel's blood. "I know what's making Angel so tired" Doyle said and ran out to the car.
Cordelia ran after Doyle. She reached him at the car. "What did you see" she asked. "Robin's been drugging Angel's blood. That's why he's been so tired and could barely keep his eyes open" Doyle said. "Oh my god we have to warn him. You drive I'll call him" Cordelia said getting in the passenger's seat and Doyle got in the drivers seat and began driving back to the office. Cordelia got out her phone and started dialing the office number. It rang four times. "Come on Angel pickup" Cordelia said. Just as Cordelia was about to hang up Angel finally answered. "Hello" he said and Cordelia could tell he was struggling to stay awake. "Angel we know what's been making you so tired. It's the blood you've been drinking. Doyle had a vision. Robin drugged it. Whatever you do don't drink it" Cordelia said into the phone. There was a silence on the other end of the phone for about a minute. "Angel" Cordelia said into the phone. "What's going on" Doyle asked. "I don't know" Cordelia said worriedly.
Angel had gotten his pitcher of blood and gotten rid of it. He had walked back downstairs and into his and Cordelia's room where he was on the phone with Cordelia. He was exhausted and he was having a hard time staying awake. He hoped they had were able to keep Robin awake so she didn't haunt his dreams anymore. "Cordy I got rid of the blood but I had a full glass of it before I talked to you on the phone. I'm not doing so well right now. Please tell me you were able to keep her awake" Angel said struggling to stay awake. "Angel I'm sorry she's asleep. Me and Doyle tried to wake her but we couldn't. We're heading home right now though" Cordelia said. Angel had his eyes closed. "Yes Angel come to me" Robin said from beside him on the bed. He was starting to fall asleep. "Angel" Cordelia said into the phone. Angel jolted awake. "She's here Cordy in my dreams. I can feel her. She's waiting for me to fall asleep" Angel said sounding like he was going to fall asleep any second.
"He sounds exhausted" Cordelia said turning to Doyle. "Put the phone on speaker" Doyle said. Cordelia put the phone on speaker so Doyle could be apart of the conversation to. "Angel man it's Doyle. Listen me and Cordelia are almost back to the office. Until we get back your going to have to find things to keep you awake" Doyle said. "Right" Angel said even though he felt so tired. Angel got up from the edge of the bed and grabbed the handset of the phone and started walking around the room. He could do this until they got back. "It's OK Angel we're right here. Nothing is going to happen" Cordelia said. Cordelia saw lights from another car coming straight for them. "Watch out" she yelled to Doyle when the car didn't stop coming towards them. Doyle turned at the last second and the car went off the road. In all the commotion Cordelia dropped her phone. Lilah smiled from the other car. She had stopped the two of them from talking to Angel hopefully long enough for him to fall asleep.
"Cordelia Doyle" Angel said into the phone but they didn't answer. Angel's eyes started to close. "They're not there. Give in join me" Robin said from right beside Angel. Angel dropped the handset and receiver on the floor and fell back on the bed. Robin smiled. "That's right. Come to me" she said. "Doyle are you OK" Cordelia asked from the passenger seat. Doyle rubbed his neck. "My neck hurts a little but other than that I'm fine" he said. Suddenly a thought hit Cordelia. "Oh my god Angel" she said picking up her phone from the floor. "Angel are you still there" she asked. "Please answer me" Cordelia said. Just then the line went dead. "The line went dead" Cordelia said calling again. No one answered. "He didn't answer" Cordelia said hanging up her phone. Doyle was trying to start the car. "It won't start" he said. Cordelia looked out the window knowing where they were. "That's OK. We're only ten minutes from the office. We can run" she said as they got out of the car and ran while Angel lay on the bed asleep.
Andy and Darryl had made it to the dream lab. Before they got out Andy got call from Prue. Andy looked over at Darryl. "I'll be right there. I have to take this" he said. "Be quick" Darryl said getting out of the car. Andy answered the phone. "Hey Prue" Andy said. "Andy I lied to you before. I feel asleep at the office and he attacked me. I'm sorry I lied to you. I didn't want you to worry. I have Piper and Phoebe looking him up in the Book of Shadows. They said they'd call me if they find anything" Prue said. "Prue stay at Buckland's. I'll come pick you up" Andy said. "I'm not at Buckland's anymore. I'm on my way home" Prue said. "I really don't think you should be driving" Andy said. "I have to get home. I don't want to be by myself with this guy after me" Prue said. "Well I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to stop him from hurting you. Just get home to your sisters" Andy said. "How can you stop him when we don't even know what kind of demon he is" Prue said.
"I don't think he's a demon at all. I think he's human. Whitaker's studying dream leaping. That's how he's doing it. All I have to do is keep him awake and make sure he doesn't fall asleep. I'm at his lab right now with Darryl. I'll stay on the phone with you until you get home" Andy said. "Thanks and be careful Andy" Prue said. "I will be. All we have to do is make sure you get home safely" Andy said. "Just keep talking don't let me fall asleep" Prue said. "You sound exhausted. What you have to do is blast the air conditioning crank the stereo and roll down the windows. That should help you stay awake. It always works for me" Andy said. "OK" Prue said and she did as she was told. "Everything's going to be fine. Nothing is going to happen" Andy said as there was a knock on his window. It was Darryl. "Hold on Prue" Andy said as he rolled down the window and put the phone to his chest. "Are you coming Trudeau" Darryl asked. "Yea just go inside I'll be right there" Andy said.
Prue could feel herself falling asleep. "Andy" Prue called into the phone. "Is everything OK" Darryl asked. Andy nodded his head. "Yea I'm just helping Prue with something right now" Andy said. "Andy" Prue called into the phone as she started to fall asleep. "The time is now Prue. We're almost there" Whitaker said from the passenger seat. A car beeped and headlights flashed in Prue's face which woke her up. Prue picked up the phone and put it to her ear. "Andy where are you" Prue cried into the phone. "I'll be inside" Darryl said leaving the car and walking into the building. Andy rolled up the window and put the phone back to his ear. "I'm back Prue. That was just Darryl" Andy said but there was no answer. "Prue. Prue" Andy called into the phone. It was to late. She had fallen asleep. Whitaker was holding her neck while she slept. "Say goodnight Prue" he said and laughed as Prue drove into a pole. The line went dead on Andy.
"Dammit" he yelled. Prue had fallen asleep and had probably crashed somewhere and it was all his fault. Prue's head was against the dashboard and she was telling herself "Can't fall asleep". Andy had no idea where Prue was. He called Piper and Phoebe and told them what happened and told them to search for Prue. Then he called Angel's office. He figured it would be a good idea to have Angel Cordelia and Doyle search for Prue to. No one answered. He tried two more times and again no one answered. He figured they were probably on a case or something. Andy hung up his phone and got out of the car. He walked into the building determined to make sure Whitaker didn't sleep tonight. Prue's life was at stake and he would do whatever it took to save her.
