Niobe made her way to Steve. The run was long and exhausting, but she took out plenty of targets on the way.

"The Vibranium core has got a magnetic field, that's what's keeping the rock together," FRIDAY said.

"If it drops?" Tony asked.

"I am going to take a guess and say the city dropping will not end well," Niobe said.

The Jedi ran ahead, striking down robots as she headed towards Steve.

"Right now the impact would kill thousands. Once it gets high enough: Global extinction" FRIDAY said. That building's not clear, Tenth floor," FRIDAY said.

A robot flew up behind Steve, Niobe jumped above him, cutting the robot in half. Niobe and Steve took a moment during the lull to breathe.

"You good?" Steve asked.

"I am still walking," she said. "I have faced worse."

"I'm sorry," he said.

Niobe shrugged. She was glad they were not experiencing the battles she had been through. Images of Geonosis flashed across her mind. She had been certain they were going to die in that arena.

"This team's enhanced abilities make things easier," she said.

"I got airborne, heading up to the bridge," FRIDAY said.

Lasers fired in their direction. Niobe was knocked back from blocking the shots with her lightsaber. Steve dove in from the side, using his shield to knock through them. Before Niobe could protect Steve from an incoming hit, he was thrown into a car.

"Cap, you got incoming," Tony said.

"Incoming already came in," Steve said. "Stark, you worry about bringing the city back down safely. The rest of us have one job: tear these things apart. You get hurt, hurt 'em back. You get killed, walk it off."

"Is Obe there?" Tony asked.

"Yes, she's fine, Stark," Steve said.

"Indeed," she said. "Another day on the job."

Niobe pulled herself off the ground and moved to Steve's side. They shared a nod before attacking more robots. Niobe felt more at home than she had in the entire time she had been on Earth. She laughed. The comms crackled in her ear.

"Feel like I'm missin' out here," Tony said.

"Sorry," she said. "In my galaxy, the armies we fought were robots too. These are much easier. I have been cornered by Droidekas too many times."

"I'm sorry," Tony said, "Droid-what?"

Niobe laughed and she cut through more robots.

"I will show you later," she said.

"Looking forward to it," Tony said.

The earth beneath them began to crumble. They were too close to the bridge. Citizens still under the assumption they could escape, scrambled back. Despite that, there were still civilians in cars. These same cars began to fall as they lifted higher into the air. Steve yelled for her to assist him and she pushed herself through the force to his side. Niobe reached her hands out grabbing onto the cars that she could with the force. She groaned under the strain. The car was returned to what was left of the ground.

Niobe watched as Steve hung off the edge grasping at a woman's hand.

"I got you! Just look at me," Steve said.

Steve helped a woman up to safety, sending her into a nearby building for shelter.

"You can't save them all. You'll never... " Ultron said.

Only this wasn't Ultron. His voice was being projected throughout the city using the other robots. Steve threw one of the attacking robots off the edge of the bridge.

"You'll never what? You didn't finish!" Steve said.

"Mature," Niobe said.

Thor landed on the bridge on the top of a car, dropping another in front of them.

"What, were you napping?" Steve asked.

Thor held his hands out, looking almost offended.

"Good to see you Niobe," Thor said.

"You as well," she said.

The three continued on in their battle. Niobe's blade in constant motion while the two avengers covered her sides. The onslaught seemed to be endless.

"Alright, we're all clear here," Clint said.

"We are not clear! We are very not clear!" Steve said.

Steve kicked his shield into the chest of a robot. Niobe threw her blade into a spin, cutting down an oncoming group of robots.

"Alright, coming to you," Clint said.

"Keep up old man!" Pietro said.

"Nobody would know. Nobody. The last I saw him, Ultron was sitting on him. Uh...yeah, he'll be missed, that quick little bastard. I miss him already," Clint said.

"Except you said that over the comms," Niobe said.

The Jedi laughed as she heard Clint curse. Pietro was an annoying boy, she could not disagree with Clint's teasing.

OOOOOO

Natasha arrived later into the fight, joining Niobe and Steve in their battle with the robots.

"Romanoff!" Steve said.

Steve threw his shield at Natasha so she could protect herself from the attacking robot.

"Thanks," Natasha said.

The comms crackled again.

"The anti-gravs are rigged to flip. Touch 'em, they'll go full reverse thrust. The city's not coming down slow" FRIDAY said.

"The spire's Vibranium. If I get Thor to hit it..." Tony said.

"It'll crack, but that's not enough, the impact would still be devastating," FRIDAY said.

"Maybe if we cap the other end, keep the atomic action doubling back," Tony said.

"That could vaporize the city, and everyone on it," FRIDAY said.

"The next wave's gonna hit any minute. What have you got, Stark?" Steve asked.

"Well, nothing great. Maybe a way to blow up the city. That'll keep it from impacting the surface if you guys can get clear," Tony said.

Niobe and Steve shared a look.

"I asked for a solution, not an escape plan," Steve said.

"There may not be one, Steve," Niobe said.

"Impact radius is getting bigger every second. We're going to have to make a choice," Tony said.

"Cap, these people are going nowhere. If Stark finds a way to blow this rock..." Natasha said.

"Not 'til everyone's safe," Steve said.

"Everyone up here versus everyone down there? There's no math there," Natasha said.

"I'm not leaving this rock with one civilian on it," Steve said.

"I didn't say we should leave," Natasha said.

Niobe took a sharp inhale. She shut her eyes tight.

Anakin.

Steve turned to look at Natasha.

"There's worse ways to go. Where else am I gonna get a view like this?" Natasha asked.

Niobe watched as Steve and Natasha shared a smile. The Jedi agreed with the assassin. If this would be Niobe's last stand, she was grateful for company.
