The Winchesters' day started out pretty normal until Percy opened Reddit and began scrolling through the NSFW tags because he was bored.
Sam had completed a week's worth of school work early, feeling satisfied when he submitted them to his teachers, who sent an email in response stating that they received the assignments. Dean had managed to use money he had set aside to purchase paint supplies after watching Bob Ross videos, feeling a sudden urge to try and be creative. Percy himself had finally finished one of his shows on Netflix, quietly scrolling to find a new one to get sucked into.
With a sigh, Percy threw the remote to the side, pulling Sam's laptop from where he had it hidden next to him. He hummed quietly as he looked up some of the top strangest articles on Google, his clicking somehow sounding vaguely ominous to the brothers, who had no idea what he was doing.
"Wait, you had my laptop this whole time?" Sam furrowed his eyebrows at the man, who only flapped his hand at him for silence.
"There's a bunch of freaky stuff on Reddit," Percy said, a troubled grin on his face like he was both horrified and fascinated. "There was a whole flock of geese that dragged a boy into the lake. He's fine, I think. I mean, there's just a bunch of people laughing so I assume that means he's alright."
"Geese are badass," Dean mumbled, mouth full with a bite of his sandwich from where he sat on the arm of the couch. "What else is there?"
Percy clicked some more, reading over what he found before he stopped on one, "Uh... I mean, this woman ate a hard boiled egg out of her husband's asshole. There's even pict-"
Sam snatched the laptop, closing out of Reddit, "No. No. I think we're done with Reddit. Let's do something else, anything else, like..."
"Painting?" Dean offered when his brother couldn't seem to find anything. "I have some small canvases we can use and shit."
"I'm always down for listening to Bob Ross' soothing voice," Percy said as he fell off the couch and became a heap on the floor. "It's really satisfying."
Sam nodded, grabbing the paint supplies Dean gestured to so he could set them up on the dining table, "Painting it is. Because I don't like you," He spoke as he gestured to Percy. "You can use the flat canvas."
Percy snorted, "Jokes on you, I don't care."
Dean rolled his eyes at them both, moving to the far end of the table so he could work in piece watching his video while the two argued about what colors were the best. After about an hour and a half painting, the three men using blow dryers on extension cords to dry them, the eldest Winchester was satisfied with his work. "Everyone done?"
"Yup," Percy presented his proudly, holding up his flat canvas. It was just five light blue balloons, one of them being the largest in the center.
"You didn't even follow the video," Sam pointed out, putting his used paintbrushes in a cup with water. "You literally just made balloons."
The black-haired man made a face, "You didn't either, Samantha. Bob was painting a mountain, he didn't put a tiny ass boat in it."
Sam's art was a sunset made of light pastel purple and yellow with a very light blue water. On top of the ocean was a tiny black boat with a triangular sail. It was all nice with fluffy clouds and tiny rolling waves and a bunch of birds flying in the sky, "I think it looks nice."
"For fuck's sake, guys," Dean stared at them with vague disappointment. "Am I the only one that followed the video?"
Both men turned to him, each holding up their paintings like shields, "Let's see it then."
The eldest Winchester held his up and both men blanched. "What... The actual fuck..."
Dean's painting was a snow-covered mountain surrounded by red and white clouds on a pink sky. In the front on the landscape was a grassy field, a tree and bush being the closest to the viewer. It was magnificent and beautiful, making it obvious that he really was the only one paying attention to what Bob Ross had to say.
"Holy shit, that's amazing," Percy breathed, reaching for the painting and running careful fingers over the mountain. "Agriculture."
"It's really really good," Sam said, awe written all over his face. "It kind of reminds me of Mount Fuji in a way."
Dean's face was coloring slightly but he was saved from having to say anything when May slammed their front door open, her eyes full of anger.
"Cynthia's pregnant," May practically growled, her fists shaking from where they were clenched at her sides.
"Shit," Percy stood up quickly, vaulting over the couch and landing in a neat crouch next to the woman, ignoring the hunter's surprised looks. "Is it Richard's?" He reached forward, grabbing one of her hands and gently uncurling them, rubbing her palms where her nails were digging into the skin.
She sighed tiredly, tilting her head forward, "Of course it is. He doesn't want anything to do with the baby and you know how Cynthia's family is, Percy. They're going to be against her keeping the baby."
Dean walked over, a frown etched on his face, "I'm going to kill him."
"Not if I kill him first," Percy said deceptively calm as he grabbed May's other hand. "I'll feed him to the fishes," His smile was sharp and dangerous, like he could and would go through with his words.
"Who's Richard?" Sam asked. "And what does he have to do with Cynthia?" He had met the young waitress a few days ago while he was studying a bit at the diner. She was a kind nineteen year-old with blonde hair and brown eyes just trying to make it out in the world on her own. Whenever Sam was at the diner, she sat with him on her breaks so they could help each other study since she was trying to take a few college classes here and there and they got along very well.
May's anger seemed to bubble up again but she didn't move her hands from Percy's grasp, "Richard is this piece of shit that keeps coming into CC's life. He's a complete asshole and just uses her for- for everything. I fucking hate him!"
"We all do," Percy said soothingly, rubbing circles with his thumbs on her palms. "Let's take a breather and see how CC is doing, okay? You know she doesn't like it when you're upset."
"Let's bring her some pizza," Dean spoke up. "If she lets us stay over for a bit, we can have a Disney marathon or something. She's been trying to get us to have one for a while."
Sam nodded, "Yeah and we just got a bunch of stuff for hot chocolate, so we can make a bunch as well."
May smiled tiredly, finally removing her hands from Percy's so she could run them through her hair, "Alright, let's do it."
The four drove to Cynthia's small apartment with bundles of blanket in Dean's Impala, the boxes of pizza held in Sam's lap in the passenger seat. Percy and May were speaking quietly to each other in the back, both looking down at the man's phone at potential newborn items. When they finally got to CC's place, Percy was quick to go to the front door, leaving the three to grab the items. It was fine to them that, however, because they all knew that Percy had a sibling relationship with Cynthia, just like he did with most of his coworkers.
When Cynthia opened the door at his knock, she seemed surprised to see him, "PJ?" Her short hair was tangled a bit in some places and the spot under her eyes were red and puffy like she had just recently been crying. She rubbed at her face with her sweater sleeve, sniffing quietly.
"Hey," Percy smiled, his eyes softening a bit in a way that did only around CC. "I figured you could use some friends right now."
Tears started filling Cynthia's eyes and some trailed down her cheeks as she sniffed again loudly, "P-PJ!" She flung herself at the man, wrapping her arms around him, "I don't know what to do!"
"It's okay," He ran a hand through her hair as he backed them up into the apartment to let the others inside. "We'll figure this out together. For now, how about we make some hot cocoa and watch some Disney, okay? We brought pizza as well."
The nineteen year-old nodded into his chest, tightening her grip a bit on his shirt before letting it go, backing away a few steps. She gave a watery smile, watching as Sam, May, and Dean set about putting the pizza boxes in her small kitchen, grabbing paper plates for everyone. "You didn't have to do this."
"We're going to help you," Percy said, turning her towards the others. "Come on, let's get some food before they eat it all."
After the five of them got their pizza slices, they made their way to the living room. Cynthia, Percy, and May were piled on the couch, the nineteen year-old between them, while Sam and Dean sat in front of them on the floor swaddled in a thick comforter. It was after two Disney movies that Cynthia decided to speak.
"I... I want to keep the baby," Her voice was small but no less certain, her hand lightly touching her stomach despite there being no bump yet. "I just... I know it's going to be hard- I know that- but... Sometimes I just feel so alone here... I have you guys and the diner but-"
"We get it," Dean took her hand in a gently grip, running small circles in her palm like he saw Percy do with May. "We got your back, CC. We always will."
Cynthia sniffled again but held in her tears, nodding, "Thank you... Thank you so much."
