Ryan entered the office that he had commandeered for his residence. Families and friends had all picked out classrooms or offices and moved cots into them. He saw Rajon was sound asleep on the couch. He looked so young asleep.
He sat down at the desk and turned on the flashlight. He looked through the paper that he had been given by the police captain. It was the latest headcount that was done at dinner that night. There were about half a dozen people that turned up missing. It had been confirmed that they were a part of the training session that morning.
A few of the guardsman had gone searching for them but hadn't found them. He wondered what had happened. Was it Vile? He knew they hadn't run. Maybe one or two but half a dozen? That didn't sound right.
He was a police detective. He liked a mystery but he wasn't sure he was going to like the answer to this one.
There was a light rap on the door. Ryan went to the door and opened it. He found Steve standing there. Steve saw the sleeping teenager on the couch and whispered, "can you come out in the hall to talk?"
Ryan followed him out. "You see this?" Steve asked holding up the same paper Ryan was holding but there were a few more names on it. "More teens have disappeared. I think Vile and his crew had something to do with it."
"I think so too. At least your son hasn't."
"Yeah. Adam said he didn't have any idea where the teens were." He dropped his voice, "or can confirm that Vile is behind it. I'd recommend keeping an eye on Rick."
"Yeah," Ryan said looking back into the room where the teen hadn't stirred. He really missed Tommy right now. He'd ask one of the Rangers if they were any closer to rescuing the three teens stuck on the moon the next time, he saw one of them.
He closed the door to the office and followed Steve to the cafeteria. It was relatively empty. Ryan got himself a cup of coffee deciding he wasn't going to be getting any sleep that night.

Darkonda scowled at Vile's white ranger. He didn't know how any teen could be stupid enough to think they were allowed to be wandering around the fortress without being under any kind of spell. If all the Rangers were this dumb, he didn't know how they hadn't been defeated.
He drew his sword. "I heard you're a fighter, human. Show me what you've got." He ran at the teen who ducked the blow and kicked Darkonda. Darkonda was ready for him and caught his leg and pulled him down to the ground. "That all you got?"
Jason pulled himself to his feet and flipped backwards so that he was out of Darkonda's reach. He wasn't going to morph. Not yet anyway. They weren't his powers. They were once Tommy's and had been forced upon him.
Jason ran at Darkonda and this time kicked him in the chest. Darkonda stumbled a bit with a surprised look on his face. Obviously, he hadn't thought Jason would try that again. They battled back and forth a bit with Darkonda having the upper hand.
He raised his sword with Jason on the ground. "It would be so easy to end you here human but it's not my call." He said backing off. If Jason ever got free of his spell, Darkonda would not hesitate to finish the teen off. He knew Vile had plans for Jason and as much as he hated Vile, he actually agreed with the strategy.
Jason stood up and was about to charge at Darkonda when something stopped him. He didn't know what but he couldn't move.
Don't pick a fight you can't winJason turned around in confusion but no one was there.
But he heard that voice and for once he knew it wasn't Tommy's.

When Ryan finished his coffee and talking to some of the parents of the teens he walked back into his office. He saw Rajon hadn't moved so he grabbed his pajamas and toiletries and went to the men's room to get ready for bed.
When he came back, he found Rajon was gone.
